Good morning all,
Getting ready to take my wife in for outpatient work at hospital. She is getting an endoscopy today to check on abdominal lymphoma which she has had for several years but it has not grown. They are checking to make sure.
Big Boy is due in Cheyenne today. Have been following the progress with photos on the internet. They estimate the restoration will take up to five years so we probably won't hear much about it for a while. Meantime, we can look forward to seeing N&W 611 running again after work at Spencer shops in North Carolina.
Have not had much train time lately on my layout due to taking care of my wife but everything was working OK the last time I was out there.

Aloha. It is finally warm if grey today so a good time to cut the grass for the first time and generally putter around outside. Hope it clears up. I have a visitation to attend later for a friend's parent who passed away a week ago. Hope to catch the White Sox after that - it has been enjoyable beating the Cubs. The bullpen looks a little better. May take the middle boy off to the range later. Happy V-E Day (Victory in Europe. May 5, 1945)!

It is a sunny 60 degrees. Going up to 82 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and an errand to run. Then, I can relax and watch the Indians game which is on TV at Noon today. Lunch and maybe a nap, later.

Busy day at work. Got 5 Indy car autographs today at an event held on the Circle in downtown Indy. Younger daughter and grandson met 2 of the Indy 11 players today, scored 2 tickets to Saturday's home game. They also got some autographs and some swag as well. Good day for my family. Scrimmaged with high school kids and watched Arrow as well. I hope everyone has a good day.

Been busy with work and home here. Trying to get a few outdoor projects started while still wrapping up the basement. The winter was brutal on my grass. Lucas and I did some patching last night, hopefully the seed will take.

Doing well today, not a lot happening around here. Did go to the train show last Sunday, and saw Ray for awhile. Nice hooking up with people from here. We visited for awhile during the auction, but there was not much going through. Ray, did pick up a really nice looking boxcar off of the tables. Bob, went with me and he also gota a car, it was a log unloader. Me, I didn't get anything, which was fine.
88 - Really sorry to hear about the Shingles, I hope your discomfort is a minimum, and over quickly !!
Also, Chief don't let them take too much with that mole removal. You have already given a lot for the community/ I think you need to take some time and relax!!

Aloha. Supposed to be warmer today but I don't feel it. All the brush picked up so I've lost my excuse to put off cutting the grass. Youngest had a band concert last night which was entertaining. I sure appreciate the band leader keeping everything moving along. Hope to see the middle boy after his final final today. He'll be home from college for a few days before heading out to his summer job. May you feel better soon, Brent.

Spent Primary election day doing yard trimming and helping wife with her painting tasks. Yard looks nice for once. Voted as well. Back to work tomorrow. May wear medal from Mini. Nice weather today for once. Probably rain on day of Indy GP. Go figure. May scrimmage soccer with high school kids tomorrow night. I hope everyone has a good day.
Went to train meet in Arcadia on Sunday and was able to link up with Don Baker and his friend Bob for a little while. It was very good to see Don in person. Although we have talked on the phone, I had'nt seen him since his accident.
I don't think I have seen a gismo like that thing with the firehose over the railroad track. What happens when a train comes? I thought they would put the hose underneath the rail.
I picked up my repaired MTH Black Widow SP F unit set in Burbank before the train meet. Glad to report that it all works fine now. Turned out to be a blown slave circuit board in the trailing A unit but that's what we thought it was. Needed a new battery too. I could have saved $11 and something for that if I had known. I have BCR's at home. They said the old battery was leaking but I saw no evidence of that after looking at the old battery. Maybe they cleaned it up. The clerk thought that they meant that the old battery was run down but I think they said they had to clean up the battery holder too. Anyway, it works now.
Blood test today for doctor visit next week for me.
Mornin' FellasNot feeling well these days. Was diagnosed with The Shingles yesterday so just waiting for the meds to kick in and kill it so I can go back in a month and get the vaccine... this really sucks. No way to get comfortable, what little sleep I was getting is now magnified because I can't get comfortable enough to sleep... Hope everyone is well.Not sure that contraption to protect the fire hose is really all that wise.
Morning. Pretty day. Veggie garden today. Way behind. Got three foot tall tomato plants in greenhouse with blooms. Hope to get them out today. Then hit the road east for some late turkey hunting.
23rd, some serious cutting on my back. Bad mole. That should fix it Dr. says. Remove a chunk and help me lose weight.

On a steam engine, Drop the Ice Scraper. It rides about 1/2" above the rail head, and is angled similar to a snow plow blade.

Busy weekend here. Saturday it was build a turtle pen, yesterday was a Local Train Show in Toms River and the Vol. Fire Company coin toss. At the Train Show I scored a 1940's Diamond T Wrecker with the period logos from the Company that I retired from and a 49 Ford NJ State Police Car for the Branchline. Today it is work on a friend's Honda Lawnmower and then School tonight.
8N: I prefer the Post War Hudsons over the MPC versions. That is great that you have both versions of the 646.
Chief: Another "That is Good Enough" for maintenance on the Train. They never learn.

Aloha. Happy Cinco de Mayo. I had an enjoyed Free Comic Book Day on Saturday and Star Wars Day yesterday. I also enjoyed running Ivor yesterday afternoon with the youngest. Let's see... first we pulled Ivor out of his shed, stopped for water, then waited for the signal box to let us on Ivor's main line. We ran into Llaniog and picked up a few parcels at the station. then ran back into the station track to pick up a wagon and passenger car. We pushed on to Pugh's Pit where we dropped off the empty wagon under the AF coal elevator and picked up a full wagon. We moved on to Mrs. Porty's mansion where we dropped off a delivery of a new hat for the owner of Ivor's railway. Next was Dinwiddy's mine where we dropped off new boots and mining supplies and picked up a crate of bullion. We scrambled through Eagle's Ridge tunnel, past Smoke Hill where the dragons lived, and arrived in Grumbly Town where we dropped the passengers and remaining parcels. Then we ran by the main line where we left the loaded coal wagon and picked up another empty. We ran by Pugh's Farm where we picked up a crate of chickens and then there was another long run back to Llaniog to drop the empty wagon. We then headed out back to Grumbly Town to pick up the afternoon's passengers. After dropping them at Llaniog, we backed into the shed, raked out and banked Ivor's fire and left him simmering in his shed for 'tomorrow's' work. All in all a productive day on the Merioneth and Llantisilly Rail Traction Company Limited.
Morning. Sunny and beautiful. Hope to dry out. Some roads down east still flooded as waters flows toward the coast. Woods full of water.
Went to lake house and "opened it up" [never really closed it] for the year. Mowed [double as grass was so tall] and sprayed Roundup. Serviced mower.
Came back yesterday to run train in the park. Train died third trip. Poor maintenance. Battery post corroded so bad it dropped off of battery from vibration. Was another Chamber failure. Easter egg hunt this far after Easter. The rain shut down the original. Should have canceled. Train is the biggest draw anyway.
Meetings today and tonight.
Out to do walk before meetings.
Garden tomorrow and then down east tomorrow night or Wed morning. Last week of turkey hunting.
