Konbanwa,

The temperature dropped a few degrees overnight and it has been a brisk Saturday so far.  It feels like fall now and it is great.  We've had a quiet morning and the wife made some chocolate chip pancakes and bacon for brunch.  I was able to watch the last few innings of the NLCS, but it wasn't much of a game.  I have some reading to catch up on today and then supervise the older two children as they rake some leaves.

The name of the lawn equipment manufacturer is Shindaiwa.  I've never heard of them before, but they appear to be well-known.

Don B. - The age group I coach is 9-10 year-olds and it is a 7-on-7 league.  It is fun and I actually give the kids wrist coaches to use so they can feel like pros.

Sayonara,

Joe

Mitchie!!!! - Where in the Wide Wide World of Sports have you been?  Were you leading the coalition of western counties to ceseed from Maryland?

Coffee Pot time was usually in the AM before work for me.  School hours changed.  Kids start arriving at 7:15. I like to get there at least 30 minutes before the kids and staff. As it is now I'm up before 5:00 and have to leave at 6:00, so no dilly dallying in the AM lingering over coffee..

Good morning all,

Funny thing happened to the Dodgers on their way to the World Series.  They got clobbered by the Cardinals last night 9-0.  Should I say humiliated?  Kershaw just didn't have his usual stuff and the rest of the team gave him no support at all.  Oh well, wait until next year!

See ya,

Afternoon.  Just passing through again.  Had to come home and bring Wifey lunch and get the meds out of the drawer so she could dope up due to her back going out. ???  She is now doing better.  Back to babysit Oldest animals and put more siding on Frankie's building.  Took forever to trim and get it ready to put siding on.

BTW: still rainy.  Suppose to be first fair day in weeks.  ?????

All electrical done and passed.  Power company came and hung transformer and made connection.  Taking camper tomorrow afternoon to farm and set up.

Out the door again.

Hi GUYZ,

Had a great last two dayz at YORK.  Had breakfast with the gang on Friday morning.  In attendance were HUDSONJOHN, RAY, JELECTRIC, BANKS & MRS. BANKS, and of course ROY, my Wife PAM and I, at Round the Clock Resturante.  BRENT was MIA?   Good food, lots o laughs. Went to show on Thursday by myself and had a great time wandering the halls checking out the stuff.  Saw the new DEMO at the Lionel Booth of the new BIGBOY that will be a Vision Line item that has dual smoke stacks each individual smoke units, whistle steam effect, blowdown effect, and the big one of the depleating coal load in tender.  Looked pretty neat but with no pricing and murmurs of 2K -2500 I don't think it will be in my round house.  The neatest thing I did see at YORK was pointed out by my Wife PAM at the Scenic Express booth of an Alien abduction diarama.  It involes a flying saucer above the trees hovering and it is picking up a cow with tiny aliens on the ground looking around for more things to abduct.  Price on the spaceship with 4 aliens and robot was 56 bucks.  Think I will get this and put it next to Bigfoot on the layout, really nicely done.  Only bought a Austins Wild Turkey liquior car for 60 bucks that was it.  Spent lots o time talking and looking and walking.  Had great dinner with wife, slept great.

Stay frosty my friends,

Good evening all,

Plans were quite altered today.  Was going to see one set of grandkids play, but parents called and said their game was postponed due to weather.  Wife happened to mention other grandson was playing 3 games today.  Missed his first game, but saw the last two.  His team won the first two, 5-3 and 3-1, and tied the last one 2-2.  Wife got a lot of stuff at B&N as well.  Got area rug for back porch back.  Too clean to run tubular rail track on that so no more standard gauge back there.  Will run HO and O for time being.   Indy car race starts in hour.

Keep on training,

Aloha. Lots of outside work today - lawn cutting, leaf raking, apple picking. Tarred up the top of a new stump to delay the inevitable rot. Then was called in to help at church. Tomorrow going to take the youngest out to the last 'Trail of History'  - our conservation district hosting of a pioneer encampment recreating the early days of the county. Think fur trapper, revolutionary war era re-enactors. Too early for the railroads. Sorry they're ending it. Hiking in a couple of miles into a real prairie moraine is always fun at 0-dark-30. Back before the Bears game I hope.

Don, happy anniversary!  Buckeye, glad you're back from your Midwest voyaging

Morning to All,

Checking in again, this makes two days in a row. Had a real adventure at York looking through all the halls for a controller for a modern Gantry Crane. The last time my nephew was here, somehow he managed to short out the controller by laying it across the live track. Pretty poor design really, the back is open, no cover and there is a circuit board exposed. I searched every table, every junk box throughout the Orange, White, Purple, Brown, and Silver halls to no avail. I was almost through the blue hall when on the next to the last row when I found what I thought was the right controller.  Seems as though there is another accessory that uses the same shape and size controller with two levers. It turns out that the one I bought ($20) is not the one I need, it has four wires. The one I need has five.  ArghCrying After I made that discovery,  I did a Google search to no avail. On a whim, I emailed JusTrains (in Delaware) the part number; lo and behold they have it. Hopefully it will arrive next week, although with the wedding it probably will not get installed.

Yesterday I scanned and printed pictures of our son for a display board that will be put up at the reception showing the two if them over the years. I also vacuumed the insides of the cars. Today I will use the upholstery cleaner on both vehicles.

Take care,

Mitch

Evening Fellas

What started out as a pretty good weekend took a wicked nasty turn...

I'll start with Friday. I did make it to York, but had to leave early as I had to get to Pittsburgh to work on the house. I picked up my track cleaning car from MNP... review to come. Then found a Thomas Set for a coworker, and picked up some nick-nacks for the Christmas layout, and found a town clock for the town from Charles-Ro. Then found the replacement Thomas for Christina and pikced up a Percy and two sections of track. Then it was off to Pittsburgh. Sorry I missed the guys... hopefully April!

Well I got to Pittsburgh and my Dad and I went over to the house and found the pillar wasn't as bad as anticipated and only required a few shims, paint and caulk to firm it up and make it last till next year when I'll have to replace the pillars and railings... not looking forward to that expense or time it is going to require to get it done.

Then on the way home I got the call I had been expecting, but not wanting to receive. My Father's oldest brother passed away at 2:30am on Saturday. He was 86, served in the US Navy during WWII, ran my Grandfather's brick laying business after he retired, and unfortunately I never really had the opportunity to really get to know him... long story, and not one I am getting into here. My Father's side of the family started having reunions a few years back and the two that I was able to make I finally was able to talk to my Uncle... and found he was quite a character, lived a full fun life, and remembered my Grandparents like they were alive. I will miss him dearly as I wanted to talk to him and learn more about his life. Kind of missing my Grandparents more today as well.

RIP Uncle Carl.

THE END OF THE WORLD IS UPON US!  I went to the A&W today to get a couple of cony dogs and root beers and discovered that the traditional tap for the A&W root beer had been replaced by a spigot on the standard six position fountain drink dispenser.

Anyhow, a nice fall day here, sunny and about 70.

We went on vacation last week.  Made the eastern triangle - we visited our oldest son and his wife in northern Indiana, mom in central Michigan, and our youngest son in Kentucky.  Also attended the 'dinosaur' races - the Buick GS nationals.  Had a good time there watching races, looking at cars, and talking with friends that I have not seen in a long time.

Have not caught up with the pot yet.  That will probably take a couple of days.

Got to go back to work tomorrow, so the SS fund remains solvent.

All for now.

Aloha. The sun sure took its time to rise this morning. Happy belated birthday Roy! Brent, sorry for your loss. I'm looking forward to your review of the track cleaning car. Spent yesterday at the last 'Trail of History' a 1830-era reenactors camp deep in a local wood. It sure was fun for our youngest - he sampled home-made root beer, did chores as an indentured servant, tried to join the militia, rode in a prairie schooner, attended the local school, and traded trinkets with other 'settlers'  - kind of like Little House on the Prairie in the middle of nowhere. Got back in time to see the 2nd half of the wild Bears game. Ugh.

Big wig visit at work tomorrow so today is an all-hands-on-deck day...

Roy, belated happy birthday to you.Happy B-DayHappy B-Day

Pretty quiet today so far.  Took the old buggy (87 Buick) out for a spin this morning and put a little gas in it.  Never fill up because I only drive it enough to keep the battery charged and the tires round.

I drove through an area just West of Glendora where we live and was amazed at the amount of home construction going on.  We are going to have a population explosion in this area if anybody buys all those houses.  Most of it is in the ajacent town (Azusa) so the sewer system and all the utilities will be on them.

Been looking at various pictures of things at York or the museum on all the forums.  Don't know most of the people unless they have a caption.

Hello all,

Busy weekend,

Mrs & I got back from our York /Lancaster weekend getaway about 7:30 last evening. We had a great time at York. Met the gang for Breakfast and a Photo at the CTT Booth.

I spent very little. Our lunch was the most expensive thing I purchased.  I got a Plasticville bungalow in an unusual color, a lighted billboard and an early TYCO-Mantua lighted PRR Caboose. Saw a lot of Gilbert HO. Most I've seen there yet. But nothing I felt compelled to add to my collection. most of it was priced as I expected. Some high and some low.

Belated Happy B-Day to ROY

Konnichiwa,

For the past few days I have been unable to log in to CTT's website.  It started after I updated my laptop from Windows 8 to 8.1.  Therefore, I am posting this brief note from the office.  Tonight, I have a parents-coaches meeting for flag football.  I will learn who is on my roster and hopefully speak to all their parents.

Brent - I'm sorry for your loss.

Happy Belated Birthday Roy!

Happy Belated Anniversary Don B. and Kay!

Good Morning from chilly and sunny Central Jersey....

Countdown is on....leave Friday at 0330 for FLA USA.  Looking forward to time with my Princess.

FINALLY got a letter from the Superiro Court of Mercer County - Final judgement on 4 November...hopefully it HAMMER DOWN time!!  And then we really can move on....

House search continues will be on hold until after I get back, I think, as I have settled on 3 abodes and awaiting a little credit report "magic" before finalizing any purchases.  2 have no garages but 1 of the 2 has property to set a free standing structure down.

Good to see some of the Yorkies...April looks like a possibility
