V8 Dennis, I have used liquid wax in the past.  Seemed easier to work with but the synthetic stuff allows you to put it on even in sunlight and you don't have to wax in the shade.  I might try it once to see how it goes and go back to liquid if I don't like the results.

Jack, looks like your sox have a chance to go all the way now.  Didn't look like it after they lost two.  I'm not a regular baseball fan.  When did all those Red Sox players start doing the beard thing?  Looks funny with so many guys sporting big beards.

Don, good news on leave of absense extension.  Hope you can work the steam engine again if you want to later on.

Plan on driving the 87 Buick today.  Needs a workout.

Need to pick up Halloween Candy today at the store.

Chief, Trick or Trunk sounds like a safe and sane way for the kids to get candy.  Too bad with things the way they are today not to be able to go door to door.  We kids always looked forward to it right after the war.  We didn't get much candy during the year so this was a big deal for us.  Getting a 5 cent Hershey bar in those days was like hitting the jackpot.  Most people gave smaller portions and even home made stuff then.  Wonder if anybody ever bobs for apples anymore?

Don't think anybody will knock on your camper door at the deer camp.  Probably afraid they would get a load of buck shot instead of a treat.  BTW, they had to shoot a bear near here yesterday with a tranquilizer gun to get him back up in the mountains.  Then they probably raced him back to where they started from.

Chief, thank you for posting a picture of my layout with that photo of Don's "Halloween Costume".  That was when you guys paid a visit to my layout before Don got hurt.

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Watched Arrow.  Good episode.  Trick or treating got postponed to Friday due to storms coming thru tomorrow.  Did some work on back porch.  Wife liked it.  Miracle.

All Boston Red Sox so far.  6-0 in the top of the fifth.  JACK.

Konbanwa,

Happy Halloween everybody!  What a miserable way for the baseball season to end.  I know Jack is happy, but I'll need a couple of days to get over it.  It's trick or treating night so I'm sure we'll be busy with that, but not much else is going on.  I've been fortunate with the coaching as I haven't really had any knucklehead parents; nowadays it seems as if they don't even care at all. Sad

Rich - I'm glad you had a nice trip.

Bob - It's good to see you are doing well.  Nice find on the K-Line piece.

Sayonara,

Joe

Aloha. Happy Halloween! One of my favorite days of the year. Unfortunately, it is rainy today should keep down the visitors but that means all the more candy for me! Got some looks while wearing a costume whilst grocery shopping. Glad the Sox won even though they wore the wrong color - because I loath the Cards.

Years back, I was on a train behind another train that hit a school bus that pulled across the tracks. That consequence slowed my future commutes from 79 to 55 mph -- like that would make a difference - but it made the pols feel better. I calculated once how many hours that slow down has cost me in time over the years - then again, I've been commuting so long on the rails, I've been the equivalent to the moon in miles - now working on getting back... Big Smile

Happy Halloween all,

Jack, Congratulations on the Sox win.  We also got even for our Dodgers loss to the Cards.

Chief, good luck with the real goblins and spooks out in the woods.

Took usual walk this morning but back has been complaining lately.  Need some kind of brace I think and losing about 40 pounds wouldn't hurt either.

Got phone call from friend Larry yesterday.  He has been on the road with the band for about 10 days or so and is leaving again today to baby sit his son's house in Las Vegas for two weeks while the son is on vacation.  He will be home sometime in November in time for the Dixieland Jazz Festival in San Diego.  Wish I could go this year but I don't feel up to it right now.

later,

Ray

Afternoon All.

All set for tonite's ghouls & goblins to come a'callin'. Finished the garage and the few outdoor items this morning, picked up 4 bags of the Child's Play Mix of candy. If/when 14# of candy runs out it's time for lights out & close the garage door.

We should have the usual neighbors gathering here, the ladies enjoy passing out the candy and sip a little wine while their hubbies have a brew and bs. Oops, gotta run to the store, the "BetterHalf" forgot the beer for tonight.

Will check in later.

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Windy drive on the way home.  Quiet night at home watching Charlie Brown show on TV and Thriller on YouTube.  Still one of the best videos ever.
