Monsterhouse.  Dumb and Dumber would star Shake and Bake and Buckeye.  No way would I allow them to be shown here.

Good morning all,

Chief, re the movies in the outdoors.  They do the same thing here in the summer at our park but what about that 32 degrees you mentioned and blankets on the ground?  I guess the cold was at the lake location.   Dear camp was a good name from Don but he beat me to it.

Had stomach discomfort last night.  Been hitting diet ginger ale too hard.  Not supposed to have carbonated drinks.  Watching diet today.

Been playing taxi driver for my son for a couple of days with his car in and out of shop and picking up rental car yesterday.  Rental place gave him a ride home today so I didn't have to get up early when he turned it in this morning.

U.P. Big Boy news:  The U.P. steam team is going to conduct a " rolling test"  this week at the L.A. County Fairground prior ot sending engine back to Cheyenne later this year.

Got my U.P. 2014 Calendar yesterday in the mail that they send to all retirees.  Nice calendar but all diesels.  Should have included a photo of the Big Boy with all the news about it.  Probably next year or whenever they finally run it after restoration.

Train meet at TCA this weekend.  Small meet but I will go to see people.  Also gives me a chance to see Gold Line light rail bridge progress on new overpass in Arcadia, California enroute.  We are anxiously anticipating the completion of this line as it will end near where we live and give us some rail service to L.A. downtown with connections to a lot of other trains and light rail lines.

later,

Ray

Doug,

The Chief sent me a list of movies he was considering;

- Rainy Days and Rainy Nights  (including special effects)

- Dumb and Dumber

- Godfather (Part 1 - Convincing and Controlling)

- The Emperor Has No Clothes

- Life and Times of Boss Hogg

I told him I thought any of them would be fine.

Rainy morning.  Actually just misty here.  Did get a few days of shine [not moonshine] here this week.

Passing through here.  Did sleep at home last night after Town Board.  Going to lake house tonight to check things out as going to 32 degrees by Sat. morning.  Coming back and going to deer camp [travel trailer at farm and not "dear" camp as I bet Shake and Bake would try to make out of it.] tomorrow night through Sat. noon.  Coming back Sat. for Mayor's Free Family Movie Night at the middle School football field.  Got big blowup screen, special projector and sound system.  Everyone sits on their blankets or folding chairs on the field after dark and watches the movie.

Finished Frankie's 16X24 utility building.  All trimmed and vinyl sided.  Did that while baby sitting Oldest animals at her house.  Worked out good as only 5 minutes from her house to his.  He feed me hotdogs from Snoopy's  a lot.

Glad to see those who made York.

Roy, happy birthday.  CakeHappy B-Day

Poor Kay.  Another year with Shake and Bake. Crying

Health wise, hope all are OK.

Have a good one.

Aloha. Sunny and cold today. Sure agree with the 'therapeutic train room' - now that it's colder out, it's the season to visit and tinker with things in there.  Glad the big-wig left happy from his visit. Even gladder it's over and we can get back to 'real' work.

Good evening all,

Sorry I did not post last night.  Was doing some winterization items before it got nasty outside.   Got blown out 6-0 tonight in the soccer game.  I may have touched the ball once.   Work was busy, but quiet.  Slip the headphones for some Katy Perry time and it is all good.

Don -- glad you anniversary was a good one, that's the way it should be Yes

I had to chuckle about your comment about whether anyone would buy a used car from the cast of characters pictured -- certainly not!  HA Laugh

I also enjoyed your comment about "relaxation therapy" in the train room.  It's so true!  We had the grandkids here this weekend and it's simply a blessing when we can have them for two nights, it's just the best.  We spent some time in the train room downstairs on Sunday and just had a ball.  Still the bigger fun is up on the main floor when we can run Thomas on the floor and not care what happens.  On Monday I spent several hours downstairs simply tweaking up the layout and getting ready for the Thanksgiving visit and Christmas visit.  Over the spring and summer time I forget how much I enjoy the train room, I know my blood pressure drops big points when I'm down there -- what a wonderful hobby!

Afternoon,

Thanks for all the Anniversary wishes.  We had a good time, went to a play, then dinner with family.

Good picture from York, now I have one question.  Is there ANYONE in that picture that you would feel comfortable buying a Used Car from?  Hmmm

Going to try and get back out to the train room today, need some relaxation therapy.  All this recovery effort can be very taxing and stressful.

Though I had lots to say, now can't remember anything.  So till later

Banks

Hello all,

Busy weekend,

Mrs & I got back from our York /Lancaster weekend getaway about 7:30 last evening. We had a great time at York. Met the gang for Breakfast and a Photo at the CTT Booth.

I spent very little. Our lunch was the most expensive thing I purchased.  I got a Plasticville bungalow in an unusual color, a lighted billboard and an early TYCO-Mantua lighted PRR Caboose. Saw a lot of Gilbert HO. Most I've seen there yet. But nothing I felt compelled to add to my collection. most of it was priced as I expected. Some high and some low.

Belated Happy B-Day to ROY

Good Morning! 66 and Sunny. The temps are to hit 32 here by Friday.

I had a great time at York. I cannot wait until April. My Big Purchases were Streetlights 1/2 priced at MTH and Plasticville Union Station, Firehouse and Water Tank for my Branchline.

Brent: Sorry we missed you at York. Prayers for your Uncle Carl.

Happy Belated Aniversary Don and Kay!

Happy Belated Birthday Roy!

Fife: Check out the MTH Club. There may be something you may be interested in there. I saw it at York and thought of you. The price is good.

Banks: Tell your wife great job with the picture. Thanks! Great seeing you.

Have a Great Day!

Aloha. Winter has arrived. Big wig visit day continues. So far so good. This place has never been so clean and organized. I haven't worn a tie in ... a long time. Hopefully he will be gone before the rain / sleet arrives later. Great York photo as always.

Good Morning from chilly and sunny Central Jersey....

Countdown is on....leave Friday at 0330 for FLA USA.  Looking forward to time with my Princess.

FINALLY got a letter from the Superiro Court of Mercer County - Final judgement on 4 November...hopefully it HAMMER DOWN time!!  And then we really can move on....

House search continues will be on hold until after I get back, I think, as I have settled on 3 abodes and awaiting a little credit report "magic" before finalizing any purchases.  2 have no garages but 1 of the 2 has property to set a free standing structure down.

Good to see some of the Yorkies...April looks like a possibility

Konnichiwa,

For the past few days I have been unable to log in to CTT's website.  It started after I updated my laptop from Windows 8 to 8.1.  Therefore, I am posting this brief note from the office.  Tonight, I have a parents-coaches meeting for flag football.  I will learn who is on my roster and hopefully speak to all their parents.

Brent - I'm sorry for your loss.

Happy Belated Birthday Roy!

Happy Belated Anniversary Don B. and Kay!

Roy, belated happy birthday to you.Happy B-DayHappy B-Day

Pretty quiet today so far.  Took the old buggy (87 Buick) out for a spin this morning and put a little gas in it.  Never fill up because I only drive it enough to keep the battery charged and the tires round.

I drove through an area just West of Glendora where we live and was amazed at the amount of home construction going on.  We are going to have a population explosion in this area if anybody buys all those houses.  Most of it is in the ajacent town (Azusa) so the sewer system and all the utilities will be on them.

Been looking at various pictures of things at York or the museum on all the forums.  Don't know most of the people unless they have a caption.

Aloha. The sun sure took its time to rise this morning. Happy belated birthday Roy! Brent, sorry for your loss. I'm looking forward to your review of the track cleaning car. Spent yesterday at the last 'Trail of History' a 1830-era reenactors camp deep in a local wood. It sure was fun for our youngest - he sampled home-made root beer, did chores as an indentured servant, tried to join the militia, rode in a prairie schooner, attended the local school, and traded trinkets with other 'settlers'  - kind of like Little House on the Prairie in the middle of nowhere. Got back in time to see the 2nd half of the wild Bears game. Ugh.

Big wig visit at work tomorrow so today is an all-hands-on-deck day...

THE END OF THE WORLD IS UPON US!  I went to the A&W today to get a couple of cony dogs and root beers and discovered that the traditional tap for the A&W root beer had been replaced by a spigot on the standard six position fountain drink dispenser.

Anyhow, a nice fall day here, sunny and about 70.

We went on vacation last week.  Made the eastern triangle - we visited our oldest son and his wife in northern Indiana, mom in central Michigan, and our youngest son in Kentucky.  Also attended the 'dinosaur' races - the Buick GS nationals.  Had a good time there watching races, looking at cars, and talking with friends that I have not seen in a long time.

Have not caught up with the pot yet.  That will probably take a couple of days.

Got to go back to work tomorrow, so the SS fund remains solvent.

All for now.

Evening Fellas

What started out as a pretty good weekend took a wicked nasty turn...

I'll start with Friday. I did make it to York, but had to leave early as I had to get to Pittsburgh to work on the house. I picked up my track cleaning car from MNP... review to come. Then found a Thomas Set for a coworker, and picked up some nick-nacks for the Christmas layout, and found a town clock for the town from Charles-Ro. Then found the replacement Thomas for Christina and pikced up a Percy and two sections of track. Then it was off to Pittsburgh. Sorry I missed the guys... hopefully April!

Well I got to Pittsburgh and my Dad and I went over to the house and found the pillar wasn't as bad as anticipated and only required a few shims, paint and caulk to firm it up and make it last till next year when I'll have to replace the pillars and railings... not looking forward to that expense or time it is going to require to get it done.

Then on the way home I got the call I had been expecting, but not wanting to receive. My Father's oldest brother passed away at 2:30am on Saturday. He was 86, served in the US Navy during WWII, ran my Grandfather's brick laying business after he retired, and unfortunately I never really had the opportunity to really get to know him... long story, and not one I am getting into here. My Father's side of the family started having reunions a few years back and the two that I was able to make I finally was able to talk to my Uncle... and found he was quite a character, lived a full fun life, and remembered my Grandparents like they were alive. I will miss him dearly as I wanted to talk to him and learn more about his life. Kind of missing my Grandparents more today as well.

RIP Uncle Carl.
