Jake......cherish and enjoy your Grandma and your folks while you can. Thumbs Up

She is working on a dairy farm at age 77, so I would say she still has plenty of good years left in her. I would, however, be worried when she starts to NOT work as hard as she is now.

Good morning.

Not much going on except for doing some errands today. May get some more work done on the Me Bf 109G-10, and may get the P-38 ready for a second coat of paint.

Hi GUYZ again,

Just got caught up on the final days of the pot of March.  Forgot to say on the first day o TROUT Season, I caught a mix of 10 brookies and browns.  Biggest about 13 inches.  Throew them all back.  BRO caught and released 4 brookies.   He was using meal worms, I was using dry flies.  I should of had about 10 more but was missing the strike on the fly because of all the hatch that was coming off the creek.  They were feeding on stoneflies that were on the rise.  We fished from 4-7 and had a blast.  Water temp was about 40 so feet were numb.  Maybe go later again this week Thursday or Friday?  Oh yea Outdoor Beer drinking season also came in and had 2 Old Mils at the creek.  I didn't release them kept them in my belly.

Hi GUYZ,

42 here like CHUCK, but we have a foot o SNO HI OOOOOOO APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!  Happy Easter to all hope you had a Happy and Holy one.  Went up to IN LAWS and MOMs for lunch and then supper. Nice came back for watching The BIBLE on History then FINDING BIGFOOT, but they still didn't find him.  Gotta wait till next year.

On Friday we all got bad news of the NAVY SEAL that died in the mishap out in Arizona.  That SEAL was named BRENT SHADLE.  I had taught him woodworking in MS and HS.  That's all he wanted to do with his life was to be a SEAL and take after his brother.  He was 31 yrs. old and E7 SEAL, great kid, played basketball and soccer in HS.  He was part of the famed SEAL TEAM 6 that took out bin lauden.  He leaves behind a wife and two children.  Prayers for you BRENT SHADLE you did the best job you could and now protect us from above.  Big Salute to you SIR.  Thank you.

RICH, vertigo I had it about a month ago, came and went.  I had it once before, Inner Ear infection.  No fun, I don't even get like that with 12 Old Mils.

Stay frosty my friends,

Good Mornin' Y'all From Overcast Cape Ann Taxachusetts,

Low 40s now but going up over 60 today with rain moving in around noon.  That should eradicate the remainder of my snow mounds.  April 1, 1997 we East coast boys got hit with the April Fools Day storm which dumped 24 inches of the white stuff on me......prompted the purchase of my first snowblower!!!  That season I got 120" and was armed with only a shovel !!!!!!  Isn't it amazing how stupid we were when we were younger, always lacking the right power(ed) tools for the job until the light bulb goes off?

There is nothing better than Easter at someone else's place.  The daughter and son-in-law put on quite the spread, starting with all manner of hors d'euvres, crown pork, and four desserts.  BURP!  Maximus went with us and had a good time working the crowd until we had him take an extended snooze in his crate; but he did get some choice morsels in his dinner and some walks during the festivities.  The day also included folks dropping by to say hello.....kind of open house-ish.  The kiddies ate way too much candy.  All bases covered.

Buckeye......those were not lame jokes about Southerners that the Chief posted last week.  They were true life accounts of everyday life South of the MD line. Laugh

Chief......I have Maximus on duty on all flanks.  So Fred's wife and nephew can and will be captured and held hostage until ransom has been paid.  Prepaid train purchases from Charles Ro in Malden MA., about 15 miles from me.  Must start making my list.  Laugh

Rich......sorry to hear about your detour to the hospital with unexplained severe vertigo.  I had that once, no fun, whirly twirlies without the benefit of an excessive amount of adult beverages.  Docs had no answers and it was gone in 24-36 hours, not to be repeated.

RT.......me thinks with all of your acquisitions that something has to give.  A house addition or a moratorium.....Whistling

Brutus.....I wish my relatives were closer for these holiday events, like a train or car ride away.  In my case, 1,042 miles one way. Bang Head

SubmmBob..... "peep jousting?"  Is that where you take colored hard boiled Easter eggs and square off with others, hitting one another's egg to see whose will be the last uncracked one?  My wife made it all the way to the final two yesterday.....but lost.  I think she cheated and  lined her egg with carbon fiber to make it that far. Whistling

Ryan.......was thinking about you and Dysfunction Junction yesterday.  Many of us have gone through this at one time or another, and there is nothing I could say to ease your pain and angst except "the sun also rises."  Take and strictly maintain the high road and you will be glad you did, for the rest of your life.  And don't get sucked in by others' observations, criticisms, and advice from left field, including family and friends. Angel

Yes Ryan and HudsonJohn, I am the furniture man from the Christmas season escapades.  I promised my wife her entertainment console/hutch for this past Christmas.....and nothing will deter me from my promise.  HudsonJ, if it were not for the wives, we would all be living in houses instead of homes.  But LR and DR furniture sure can get expensive fast, you may have to unretire or start selling your body on the street.  Check that, unretire. Smile, Wink & Grin

BOC......did you save any BBQ ribs for me?  You Canadians are a hearty bunch with the grill pressed into service regardless of the ambient outdoor temperatures. Thumbs Up

Jake......cherish and enjoy your Grandma and your folks while you can. Thumbs Up

Fife.....does the incident from the past week mean you can skip the hairdresser and your scheduled permanent?  Glad you are OK.  Too close to retirement for any more OTJ snafus. Surprise

Brent.....saw the pictures of your little ones yesterday.  Precious.  They are too cute!  I hope your sleep deprivation does not kill you.  Whistling  Thumbs Up.

KEV......you got me to thinking that I am way overdue for core aeration, a good de-thatching, and some slice seeding within the next few weeks.  Add in some lime and fertilizer to that list.  When one has a dog(s) and grandchildren, the lawn must be up to snuff.  And now is the time to "act."

JEFF......I for one think your Dad needs to buy you a new PC for Easter (yesterday). Smile, Wink & Grin And I am glad your eyes are clearing up.Thumbs Up

DougDG.......my son saw the 4 cars from my postwar auto loader and hid them from the grandchildren in the wife's china cabinet when they weren't looking!!!! Thumbs UpLaugh

V8......did you find a solid guy to repaint the Del Sol?  BTW, saw the photos on the news from San Jose where some knucklehead tried to drive his red mid 70s Oldsmobile Cutlass into a Walmart.  Red with a white vinyl top!  Looks like the one my wife had except hers had a white vinyl interior with the swivel bucket seats.  That guy's was missing the stock wheel covers.  My wife's sported P245 tires and dual exhausts, looked really sharp.

DougM.....hope your family road trip continues to rack up the great experience and memories. Thumbs Up

JoeyD, AF Ray, and HudsonJohn.....let the 2013 Major League baseball wars begin, and may the Red Sox whip the Bronx Bombers (in NY no less).  Red Sox fans have voted their displeasure and disgust for the past two seasons......with their wallets.  Ticket sales failed to hit sell-out for the first time in 10 years. Surprise

Later, gang.

Hello all

Another night collecting photons.

Hope everyone had a good Easter. Mine was fairly quiet. We discovered no hidden colored eggs in outer space. And alas, the sport of peep jousting was revealed to me after I went to the storeStick out tongue

Ran both of my attempts at recreating my first train set in O-gauge. Will post some pics later. The 0-8-0 definitely gets another thumbs upThumbs Up The train w/ the Williams NW2 I dug out of storage looks good too. I just don't get too excited about diesels, though it is a nice engine. I do like the UP bay window caboose. It's my first w/ internal lighting and has these nifty light pipes to illuminate the rear marker lights.

Will have to chase one of those down in SF colors some dayWink

Good Monday Morning All!

46 right now and going to the low 60's.

Off today as we are going to da Bronx for opening day against RIJack's saux!

I trust everyone had a pleasant Easter Sunday. Everyone came over for breakfast and stayed the whole day through dinner. I'll have to catch up on the pot later tonight.

Like Memorial Day brings the unofficial start to summer it seems the Easter brings in spring. Temps start to get warmer and the sun feels better.

Have a great day.

Hope all had a Great Easter !

Good food and extended family made for a wonderful day, although the week did catch-up with me before all our guests left. I crashed about four o'clock and woke up sometime after the last of the guests had left. Embarrassed

Rich, Good luck with the Vertigo.

Rock, Hope you find your missing autos. Smile

Saturday went well with only a couple of minor mishaps which were more control related issues as opposed to operator errors. Unfortunately we did have one incident of someone hitting the emergency button on the DCS which requires a shutdown/reboot of the layout. Who did it ? Blindfold

Hope all had a great Easter!  Went over to my folks for a few hours and had some good food, then picked up Char and the kids at AMTRAK in Kirkwood at 9PM.  They were about 2 minutes late - scandalous!  TARDIS is ready and we have cookies, brownies, and banilla Smile

Hoppy Easter!!!

Wow..page 1!

Just got up...again.  Spent yesterday in Princeton Medical...severe vertigo.  Got cut loose at 10 PM, slept until 630, went with Mom to church.  Father Inverso Blessed me fo my issue.  Been asleep since 930.  Took meds, MRI to be scheduled, no clues.  Heck of a way to spend Easter,

Planning on a trip to Paterson for the NJ Hi-railers on the 13th...Fife take note:  Anyone bringing a 4-4-0, they will be run on the main line in honor of the Great Train Raid and the manufacture of the General in Paterson, NJ (Yep a Yankee engine serving in the Reb Army).  Many other delights to be had there including 2 museum tours of the history and making of these locomotives.

OK, that's all I can handle right now, off to bed yet again!
