KRM

Thanks Jeffery and the rest of ya,!!!!  At this point for me the layout it is all about motion to keep the kidies into it. The almost 2 years old granddaughter is in love with the trains.

Getting the bug to bite while she's young eh?

That is why I always use heat Jeff. takes a little longer but you save what you have.

I'm trying not to use heat on them. Too many belts and wires around.

Evenin' All.

Charlie, Great news, continued prayers.

Brutus, Hip-hip-hooray ! Fantastic news. YesYes

Kev, We have one of those on the club layout and it seems to bring a lot of smiles when people notice it. Hhmmm, wonder if these guys have a sound module that would come close to matching the sound of those little planes. http://ittproducts.com/hqpage_2008.htm    Wink

First time in a couple of weeks we didn't have the AC running today. Yeah Maybe now I can get started on the major honey-do's. Whistling

Banks, Angel for your Mom.

Ray, Hope things went well for the Mrs.

BOC & SJ, Sounds as if you had an enjoyable roadtrip.

Gotta check on the "Better-half's" dinner, sauerkraut w/pork ribsIck!. Heck of a way to ruin some good pork. As a kid we used to make our own and store it in big stone crocks in the pumphouse, after that I just could not bring my self to eat it again.

Later All.

Important things first.

Prayers for Charlie's Dad.

Prayers for Banks' Mom.

Took Wifey to dinner.  Her Mom, Dad, youngest Sister, BIL and friend Gail came.  Came home for coffee.  Ran trains for FIL and BIL.  Legacy lashup started up and running.  All was well after I got MTH [DCS] straighten out*.  One day I am going to take time and tell you just how "wonderful"  MTH products and DCS really is.  If it were not for MTH making nice looking and more NS engines than Lionel, I would throw DCS and all of MTH "out the door".  BIL took cell phone videos and was amazed at running, smoke and sounds [3 Lionel Legacy and 3 MTH lashups.  after coupling up to long trains, running on mainlines in opposite directions].

BTW: forecast for partly cloudy and very little chance of showers today.  Sun came out for about 2 hours.  Started mowing late this afternoon and it started raining.  Mowed on anyway.  30 minutes after I finished, sun came out. Bang Head

KRM

I showed the wife the Lionel Operating Track Maintenance Car tonight and I am still alive. Angel

Have a nice night guys!

Kev will sleep with one eye open all night.  If not, Wifey might do surgery "where it would hurt most".  Whistling

Later

*Selected MTH lashup, hit start up, all engines started up, all functions like bell and horn and forward and reverse lighting.  Engines refused to move.  Would not move forward or reverse.  Shut down, started up and the same.  4 times and the same.  No wheels were turning so it was not one or two units but all three.  Selected front engine, started it up [was still running but hit start up to select it individually] and it moved forward.  Moved it on the mainline.  Same with number two and coupled to number one.  Number three, the same except backed it up and coupled to number two.  Selected lashup, hit start up and they moved out.  Never have that problem with TMCC or Legacy.

PS: sent a message to Customer Service about the page going to bottom on first page but reads from top to bottom on others.  Got reply message they would reply in 48 hours.  That was over 48 hours ago.  Maybe they meant 48 days. Angry

Hello all,

Thanks for the Angel  Mom is doing fine for a 91 year old. She'll be home tomorrow if all goes well.

88 Good to hear from you again. Good luck on the next adoption.my BIL & SIL have two adopted and they are great kids. They waited a little longer than you for the 2nd. Over 10 years.

Charlie, glad to hear Dad is improving.

I'm a little behind on the Pot. Last Sunday while running the Hay Ride at the Parish Festival I got a call from the wife of one of our Foremen. He was going to be off work indefinitely. Problem was he was in charge of a 10 day  outage that started Saturday at one of our better customers so guess who had to get things rolling again there Bang Head After the first couple o days all I had to do was check in. Things went better than I hoped for Thumbs Up

Sunday evening I ended up taking Mom to the ER Over 8 hours later (2:30 AM) I headed home without her. They'd found an "inflamed" aortic aneurism in her lower abdomen. Thankfully the Doc that was on call was the same one that took care of Dad. He's very personable and purported to be the best in PA

As I skimmed the pot I think I missed a birthday and a couple other special events Congas to all

Fife. ya should've let me know you were in the area. I'm considering a trip to the aquarium in Oct.

Chief. the BOX is lookin good !!!!!!!!!!!!

Been rainin pretty regularly. We're still behind but a good second hay cutting is looking hopefull. Grain crop will be small but projected high prices may make up for small crop.

Not sure how I got two train GIF's in my signature. I'll look into that later. Off to join Mrs in bed.

Prayers for those in need

Wow - prayers for Banks' Mom, Charlie's Dad, BOC, Christina, Adoptions, Jeff, and everybody else I just forgot!  Had a good dinner at the hospital with Mom and Dad and hung out there for a few hours just chatting about this and that.  Got home in time to get the Tardis running though.  I did pick up that new Golden Age magazine, which looks pretty good.  We are all really happy as everyone seems to be doing a lot better now, it's been a while since we had so much good news in a row.  Still praying that Mom won't need chemo, but should find out soon.  Kind of embarrassed to be in MO right now with the national goof getting so much attention.  Nice chat tonight with Joe and Jim - sorry guys, I'm kinda brain dead from so much going on today.  Banilla sounds good, so let's get going!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Time for me to call it a late night. I had a talk with my nephew today and hopefully I got through to him that I need his help tomorrow. We'll see if he shows up in the morning. It's important that we get the back of the tractor up on blocks so the tranny can be dropped. I'll need his help for that too. See y'all tomorrow.

Mornin' Fellas

Last night I tried to show Christina the video Laz posted, I was using the Tablet and the video kept hanging and every time it did she would get REALLY upset! As soon as she heard the whistle she says 'choo?' Smile Well after about 5 minutes I took her down to the office and showed it to her on the desktop... the look on her face was priceless! Surprise

The rest of my order has finally shipped for my computer upgrade... about time... should have everything here on Thursday so I can do the work over the weekend. Basically I tried to upgrade my existing PC but it did not have enough power for the video card I bought, so I bought a new Power Supply - but then the case didn't have enough space for all the drives and the motherboard did not support RAID 5... so I'm basically building my own PC... again... because no one sells what I need... Sad So the end result is going to be quite massive. The Thermaltake Element V Full Tower case arrived yesterday (8.5 inches wide, 21 inches tall, 22 inches deep), will have an Intel iCore 5 processor, 16GB RAM, 2 Blu-Ray burners (the burners were only $10 more than Blu-Ray readers so no brainer there), a water cooling system for the CPU, a 256GB Solid State HD for the Windows7 system, a 3TB data drive, and a 3TB RAID 5 array as backup... no more lost files for me! Big Smile

Aloha. Beauty of a day here. Visited inlaws to celebrate a few birthdays after work. Realized headlight is out on the year-old car on the way home. Another thing to add to the list to fix. Kids go back to college tomorrow.  I want one of these to play with...  Brent, that's quite a nice computer you're building yourself. Kev, love the video. Prayers for Bank's and Brutus' moms and BoC. Great news about Char too.

Ok so where is RIJack these days? Did they have to lock him up after an altercation at the car dealership while trying to get his rear brake light fixed?  Black Eye  Smile, Wink & Grin  Huh?

That is one nice engine there Doug. Looks like Ben is ready to fire it up.

I was going to head up north to Minocqua today but woke up with some gout issues in the left big toe so hobbling around the house will be about it today. Sad

Good morning. It's 81°, humidity is 56% and it's partly cloudy. There's a small chance of rain today. High is expected to be 92°. That should feel like 97°.

Well, my nephew told me yesterday that he'd be home this morning and ready to go to work on the tractor. I really didn't believe it but decided to give him a chance anyway. As expected there's been no sign of life over there and he hasn't put in an appearance. I've about had it with that crap!

Nothing on my schedule today. I'll probably do some cosmetic work on some locos.

Lunchtime:

Came home beat last night and fell asleep before the Tardis. It is exactly 100 days to retirement.

Charlie: Great news on your Dad.

Chief: I really like DCS, TMCC and Legacy and how realistic they are, but I like the reliability of the conventional transformer control. Also it is a bit more nostalgic. Nice deal on the cable.

Jeffrey/Kev: I guess that I am spoiled with my air tools when disassembling old equipment. My son and I swapped out the transaxle in a 20 year old John Deere Lawn Tractor within 2 hours and that including removing the one out of a parts tractor. I also sprayed all of the bolts and fasteners the day before WD40. Also having him there and wanting to work was a big help.

Prayers for: Banks' Mom, Brutus' Mom, Char, Charlie's Dad, BOC and anybody that I left off.

Have a Great Day!

Good morning all,

Wife's procedure at hospital went well yesterday.  No problems.  Thank the Lord!

Brent, good luck on the adoption process.

Prayers for Bank's mom,  Charlies dad, BOC, and anyone I missed.

Chief, I've had pretty good luck with DCS but I haven't done some of the tricky stuff like lashups etc.  I've had more trouble with some of the electronics in the engines.  For example, headlights go out in an engine and it cost $200 to get them turned on again with new boards.  By passed all that and just wired in a regular light bulb to track power.  On another proto 1 model, just ripped out all the electronics and installed a reverse unit.  Works fine now.  I can live without the sounds.

TCA meet this week end.

later,

Ray

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Finally some good news on all fronts.  Got the credits on the VISA bill that I had been waiting for.  Lucas fiance got a part time job and he is now actively looking with some more intensity.  Filed the paperwork with the soccer group for his injury.  Finally got in touch with his professor on his summer class as well.  Have things turned around completely?  No.  Are they starting to turn?  Hopefully.  Our dog managed to catch a rabbit the other night.  She was so proud.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

I wonder just where the heck he expects to find brand new, not to mention affordable parts for a twenty-two year old car? (whoever has them will probably want a small fortune). I don't expect to find brand new parts for my '81 Dodge van when I go to a parts store but it's nice when they DO have it.

Jeff,

Exactly.  Finding some pieces of an 89-92 Probe around here is impossible.  Most stores no longer list parts for them, and they've disappeared from the yards.  Many that were on the road fell victim to  cash for clunkers.  I had to use/fix whatever I could find.  Even if I don't need  a part, I'll buy just to have it.  I've been stockpiling whatever I can find for  all 89-97 Probes, and I've starting doing the same with 2005-09 Mustang parts.

Harold,

I am not too worried about selling it.  It was described accurately with plenty of pictures.  Just had someone wanting a free ride because they felt entitled.  I see it all the time with my job in retail.  It's sad really.

RT: I hope the situation with your hand works out well. I have next to no feeling in both my arms from the elbows down (I can feel bone pain, a little heat and some pressure) and it ain't no picnic. Picking up an egg without breaking it is a real trick. Likewise holding onto something can be tricky as well. Something I think I have a good grip on could slip right out of my hand or at the other end of the scale be crushed/broken. Very few glass containers here.

Got answer from Customer Service.  Obviously they did NOT read my message.  Told me what I told them I had already done several times.  So I did it again and still goes to the bottom of the forum page. Angry  ~#^* idoits!!!!!!!!!  How many times do I have to explain it to them. Bang Head  Got their number.  Busy tomorrow [meetings start at 7 AM] until middle of the afternoon.  Maybe if I "splain it to them", they will get their heads out of their &^$ and tell me how to fix it.

Back from Oldest Daughter's b'day dinner.  Was on the other end of the County.  This is a BIG county and long north south.  We are as far north as possible and we had to go to the southern part.

Now getting Wifey's car filled with gas and then TV.  Then bed as early to rise tomorrow.  Meeting Friday AM and FIL's b'day dinner Friday evening.  Yes, August is B'day month for us.  Youngest's [who does not have anything to do with us due to hubby] B'day was the 14th.  Hit the road after FIL's dinner and drive to lake house.  Up early and mow grass, drive back for a Town event that evening. Bang Head  This is getting to be too much.

Later

God bless TCA 05-58541   Benefactor Member of the NRA,  Member of the American Legion,   Retired Boss Hog of Roseyville Laugh,   KC&D QualifiedCowboy
