Hi GUYZ,

62 beautiful out here!  Got my run in and 6 miles of walking with my MINNIE.  She played with other doga at the river and also treed about 5 squirrels.  Got a nice rain last nite and that brought down the temps.  Not much to do today except ballance check book, pay bills, replant lettuce, take neighbors swings apart and jungle gym, then set up in another neighbors yard.  Oh yea and take a 8 miler on the bike.

Stay frosty,

Good Morning CTTFans!

Another month is gone and a new one at hand; I paid the rest of the bill for June and locked the door behind me.  Already 70F here heading for yet another 90+ day by the looks of things; missing those Alaska 60's I has enjoying last week.

All the digital photos have been download and backups are in progress.  Got 25.8G of video downloaded and processes which is about 25% and will still need to get a backup of that still.  No travel blog entries yet for the trip posted but will let folks know when each are there.

My thoughts out to all in need... Angel

It's 70 sunny and going into the hi 80s

Chief forgot to set his alarm, probably too full from all those free meals. A nice chat with Brutus last night, I made it to the landing time. With granny gone I just kinda cruise around the house and yard. No toy train news at  all...S.J.

Good morning. It's 77° with 98% humidity. The high will be 95° but will probably feel like 110°.
http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l608/scott-running-bear/cond026.gif

With the high humidity the air is almost liquid and it's already rather sticky out there. Today is bill paying day and they aren't going to pay themselves. Most I can pay online but a couple have to be paid in person. Some companies haven't yet figured out that we progressed beyond the stone age some time ago. I also have some grocery shopping to do. I'm a little short on funds this month as a company I get some of my coins from took the full amount for the last one in one payment and over drafted my account. The order form mentioned installment payments but I've never heard from the company on it. The bank paid the overage and slapped me with the overdraft fee. After I receive a coin I got on a credit voucher I won't be doing business with that company again. Other companies I do business with always charge in installments. As to the rest of the day I may get some layout work in later. If I feel up to it I may mow my parents yard. It needs it. The down side of that is that I'll have to use my father's little MTD Yardman as the Peerless is still down.

Aloha. Thanks Jeffrey!  Today marks two-thirds of meteorological summer gone, so get out there and enjoy it before it's gone. Planned to take the youngest to the county fair as part of his camp 'replacement' experiences but he seems too sick. Quite a bug. Prayers for Jeff's mom's recovery and good new for BoC.

No problem. Wait til they get my bill.Laugh

Got the bill paying, gas buying, errands and the first half of the grocery getting done. Got home and got the groceries put away then went back out to investigate a hydrogen sulfide type smell I'd smelled in the van. It doesn't have a catalytic converter so it couldn't be that. That left one thing. The battery. Sure enough it was fizzing and bubbling and producing that hydrogen sulfide odor. I worked on cars for too long not to know what that meant. The battery had a short in it. So I had to go back to town to get a new battery. It only cost $88.68 from Advance Auto Parts. I used to get batteries at Wal-Mart and Auto-zone but usually ended up taking them back several times. Only had that happen once in fifteen years with Advance. One of the counter clerks put the battery in for me. I bet if he'd known what was in store for him he wouldn't have done it. But in the end and with the loan of one of my SAE wrenches he got it done. The + clamp didn't want to spread open to fit on the post but a rubber mallet convinced it that it wanted to be there. Well that puts the wiper motor off for another month or so. I had hoped to get it this month.

Thanks Jeffrey.  I went to bed before midnight for a change.  This AM, went to Hardees early to sit and chat with the senior citizens that gather there at several tables put together.  Suddenly Friend Fred came and so went straight to the Box and wired toggle switches.

Fifey, rearranged track at grain elevator so it is now facing the "crowd" and off of the inner mainline.

Going to Chick-fil-A. Yes  National support day.

Later.

Big surprise T'storm just passed.  Lost power for about 20 min.  Out to Box to restart laptop and check heat pump.  Some times have to restart heat pump/AC as remote will shut it down during a power outage.  It flooded for about 15 mintues.  I feel asleep and wife is still asleep.  Got to go to Chick-fil-A.  TV reported massive crowds showing up here in support.

Mostly stayed out of the heat again today. Still 90 degrees here in North Central Illinois, dry as He double L’s.

Added a LED light to one of the ALCO S-2s I got from Chief today. Yesterday I painted the hand rails on them in safety yellow. Just to see how it looks.. Yes Chief ,,, you can put perfume on a pig. See attached. Tks!

Been watering all day. A lot of trees are going to die if we don’t get some rain and fast. Got a major bite on the boat today and a handshake hope it works. I will have the second good day in a boat owner’s life tomorrow if it does. Whistling

DougM, Hope you boy gets better soon,

Where is Dr. Dennis??    What about Brent too???

Prayers to those of you in need,

BOC a special prayer for your results. Angel

Good afternoon all,

Another crazy day baby sitting the cockateal.  Drives me nuts!

Block wall guys came this morning.  Their truck broke down and needed a new starter motor.  They took the old one off and I ran them down to auto parts store.  They installed new one and got started on wall.  Looks like it is about 98% complete now.  They were putting on cap stones this afternoon.  Just a few more to go tomorrow and clean up.

Back to dentist this afternoon.   My wife had an appoinment earlier so they sent my lower partial back to me by her.  Did not fit right so back to dentist who promptly finished wrecking it.  Says that new clasp will be installed by lab when they send it back after permanent crown is done.  Meanwhile, it's just stuck in with dentu fix.  Hope it works at dinner tonight as we are taking out #2 son for his birthday.  V8 Dennis, I think I'm joining your club for dental problems.

Started to ask what's a Chic Fil-A but my son clued me in.  Did not see any news today.  Maybe that's good.

later,

Ray

Konnichiwa,

Today was a slow start for me as I did not want to get out of bed.  My body was sore from last night’s BJJ class.  My wife had some appointments (beauty salon, church errands) to take care of this morning so I took the morning off from work to watch the kids (mostly the youngest).  Her appointments ran longer than expected so I ended using leave for the entire day.  I didn’t mind as I have plenty of leave to use and I was more than happy to spend the day relaxing and resting my body.  I was able to catch a ride on the Tardis earlier today as well, and it was nice to chat with SJ, Brutus, Kev, and Charlie.  I’m not sure what we have planned for the rest of the evening but I believe we will be eating out tonight as the wife has not made any dinner preparations and she is still out running errands.  I’m hoping for curry.

Kev – The locos look great.

Nice photo Bob.

Jeffrey – Thanks for sharing the video.

Sayonara,

Joe

Hi GUYZ,

64 and foooooggggy here.  Took my MINNIE for her walk then waited but foog didn't clear so loaded her in the JEEP and went for a nice 4 miler at the NED SMITH LANDs.  Still couldn't see 100 yards but we got r done.  Drenched it sweat.  Appose to get to 92 so GOLF with BRO might be out?  But YUENGs and WINGs are on at WAYNEs.

Sent in my registration for YORK for October.

BUCKEYE let me know if you'll be there for YORK and if you want to BUM around before or during YORK.  Being that I'm retired and all.

JACK, my MINNIE would be doing laps around those SEALs.  She is super fast and very agile.

Stay frosty,
