It's overcast and 66 this morning. Granny said we got rain during the night but I didn't hear it. A big group on the Tardis last night, so many in fact that with everybody hanging around the bar we had a slight tilt to deal with. Tigers lost and Lions begin tonight, and it's day 10 of August already. sigh. Ah yes font size changed again...Have a great day..S.J.

Morning gentlemen and RT. RT helps make my day.
Raining some. Suppose to have showers and some may be rough. Same for tomorrow. I think we missed some during the early morning. A line out of GA and SC came up through Charlotte and on up. BTW: we were not suppose to have any again.
Found my paints for the bridges. Kept forgetting to go by craft store in Raleigh and check to see what paints they had. Found two more extension bridges. Had stuff stored away. Then Wifey pushes her "seasonal decorations" tubs under and hides things. Will NOT have those in the Box. When I get layout out of walkin attic, her tubs go there.
Slow moving today. Will now get to Box.
BANKS, no "taters", sweets or sweet drinks [drink diet green tea]. No pastas and very little breads. Only bread I eat is tomato sandwiches. Mainly meats and cheese. I do eat a lot of plain hotdogs. Microwave them and eat or put on plate with mustard only.
Well, have a great day.

Good Mornin' Ya'll From Overcast Cape Ann Taxachusetts,
The 95% humidity makes the current 73 degrees temps feel uncomfortable. 80 and rain/t-storms today, tomorrow, and into Sunday morning, coming up from the South; but we could use it. Ms. Meteorologist took about 5 minutes to deliver that summary that took me less than 3 dozen words. I got up early to take care of the pup and perform poo patrol. Then Miracle Grow wife's flowers which are thriving, planted just three weeks ago as sad looking annuals/seasonal leftovers from the local lawn and garden place. There is nothing like a splash of thriving color on the deck and the front porch, especially after KEV's picture and was it BOC's video reminnding us of what is to come? Primarily petunias and Impatiens which last well into October hereabouts.
Roy seems to have been MIA while Dennis I believe is getting ready for his China trip. Hope all is OK with Roy and for Dennis and his wife who will be making two blessed additions to their family.
Been watching a lot of Olympics and then reminiscing about the 1950s when every American family, the entire family, was planted in front of the TV regardless of the event, half of which we knew little or nothing about. And those TV screens were miniscule by today's standards, black and white only. For some of us, do you remember constantly adjusting those rabbit ears or rooftop antennas, or standing in the hardware stores checking out tubes? You always had to have extras at home just in case!
BOC.......64 degrees mid afternoon?!? Does your long underwear still fit you? Continued prayers for great results from your most recent round of tests!!! Hang in there!!!
8N.......prayers your dermatologist's "mining operations" are over and the test results come back negative. If anyone asks you where you got the scar, tell them your wife did it.
Chuck and LAZ.....Indians win two in a row? Must have been by forfeit.
Jeffrey........that shiny black Porsche really is a stark contrast to the auto graveyards on your layout.
KEV.......all of the lawns in my FIL's neck of the woods just North of you are all browned out too. Same concern as yours over trees that may not make it. Re the 1967 "blizzard" there in Illinois.....I remember that well. Those were money-making times for us as teens, shovelling out folks from dawn until after dark. How the world has changed. Snowblowers? I can't think of anyone who had one. With that storm, two feet of snow, then the drifting, with the highways, streets, and roads impassable for nearly a week. And that was IN Chicago proper!!! Too many knuckleheads ignored the forecasts, did not go home and stay home, getting stuck , and then just abandoning their cars right in the middle of the roadways. The crews had to plow a few feet, back out, and then send in a tow truck to pull out the abandonded vehicles one at a time, then find an out of the way place to dump them. And there were zillions of them they had to excavate.
SP Ray.......as frustrating as your 96 Honda issues are right now, you have to admit you have gotten more than your money's worth out of it and the 87 Buick. Me, I agree with what you are doing for what you need. Invest in the Honda. However, a dealer would not be my first choice for repairs, too expensive for both parts and labor. I think you need a private, local mechanic, highly recommended by someone you know and trust.
MikeC.......hope you were wearing diapers watching the women's Olympic soccer game. Exciting is an understatement!!! The good guys girls won!!!!!!!
LAZ......was thinking of you out running with your Minnie when we went up to NH for dog training Wednesday night. One woman has a male Doberman she takes on training runs with her, 10-13 miles, wants to do a marathon or half marathon. That dog is in great shape, but you could tell he was thinking "This is animal cruelty. You run. I'll watch."
DougM......I hate it when the wifey has the girls over. That always means you even have to clean places where the sun don't shine. And where the sun does shine, Marine Corps spit and polish! My wife thinks one of her girlfriends might see a cobweb or two 12.5 feet up in a dark corner of the deepest recesses of the stairwell! My solution to such anal retentive girlfriends? as soon as they walk in the door. Prayers your jobless friend strikes paydirt.
Rich......sure the Pulsar is the one to sell? Is it in better shape than the Neon? Or is the Neon more practical? Re the papers, if I were you I'd get any detail you don't want to become an issue or an outright war signed, sealed, and delivered first. But that's me.
SJ........a day of rain will surely be followed by a mega-resurgence of weeds!!
JoeyD........listening to some of your (non-American) culinary adventures, I think I'd rather eat the mice. Or become a Yankees fan.
Brutus......re "the cheap beers we used to drink," Pabst Blue Ribbon, Old Milwaukee, and Genesee come to mind. There was one out of Cincinnati called Hudepohl (SP?) that tasted like you were drinking dirt.
Banks.......whenever my Doc or Dentist start giving me grief about this stuff (cholesterol, BP, weight, lack of exercise, cleanings and flossing, etc.) I remind them that if it were not for people like me they would be unemployed. That usually quiets them down after they stop laughing.
Gotta run and follow DougM's good example. Like him, my wife is having some of the girls over in a few.
Jack

Hi GUYZ,
Like BANKS and BLOWNOUT, we got a rainy day today!!! YEA!!! GONNA PLAY TRAINS tis after. Took my MINNIE on a wet walk to the river, felt good got my run done and now gonna ride the sationary bike inside today. Played GOLF and shot the best game in a long time. Beat BRO by 10 shots. Musta been all the t storms around us but no rain on course. YEUNGs were tasty last nite.
JACK, my MINNIE loves the walks and runs, no doubt about it. This morning tried to sleep in a little, no way she was up on top of me at 605, raring to go.
RAY, stay frosty there at 100,WOW!!!! Don't eat ice cream outside.
CHUCK, TRIBE WINS 2 IN A ROW!!!! Here we go!!!!!
BUCKEYE & CHUCK, TGIF!!!!
Stay frosty,

Good morning all,
Another hot one today with prediction around 106 in neighboring town. Probably the same here. A/C has been working overtime and I haven't even thought about going in the garage/train room. Hope nothing is melting in there.
Hope Jeffrey's mom is doing better.
Jack, you're right about getting my monies worth out of the cars. I just need some educated opinions from someone about how stiff the steering should be after the kind of work I had. If it turns out that this is normal, I can live with it but somehow I feel like I am being fed a line.
Had Chinese take out last night. Good but always gives me the trots next day.
Prayers for Dennis with his mission to get new kids.
later,
Ray

Lunchtime:
Rainy, muggy day here.
NJ Devil, Rich, Good luck with all of the papers. Have fun with the Road Runner. The Greenfield Boys told me about the Road Runner and your BIL. I am working tomorrow (the shop is near the Convention Center) but we are planning on going to the Greenberg Show in Edison on Sunday.
SPMan, Ray, that wheel should come back by itself. I would avoid that dealer next time.
RT, NYC Dash 8, COOL!
Chief, RT, Keep up the busting. I love it!
Doug M, Steam and Threshing! Next week, I am leaving Thursday to the Rough and Tumble Museum in Kinzers, Pa, for the Thresher's Reunion. They will have everything there and running. Check it out at roughandtumble.org . They even have a Shay running thru the show grounds.
Winter and Snow! After 40 years with an Electric and Gas Company that is 1 thing that I am not going to miss when I retire.
Laz, 112 days to go.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
Have a Great Day

Well was able to convince the docs that chief was okay and we got out of there with plenty of time to spare so chief is back home and I'm back to ripping out carpet but think I'm going to end up putting a wall up where the brick wall is just put 2" X 2" studs and then get paneling to match whats already up in the room as its the only wall not paneled and I need to get away from that wall about 2" as the old window sill sticks out about that far and I have that hole that the vent to the house use to be at and there 1/2 heartily blocking of that but it sticks out about 3/4" from the wall so this will take care of it nicely. Will need 4 sheets 3 of them will go up just as they are except the top will be trimmed.
Not much else going on here need to get back to the removing of the old carpet.

Hello all
Supposed to be 107 today. Just came in from pulling weeds. Trying to recover from heat exhaustion.
Tour w/ my friend Bill went well.
8N - event if is isn't official, I like cabeese
Jeffrey - I like the slug!
Jack - I still know about the old TV thing. Went to buy an antenna last night so I can watch the olympics. NBC comes in crystal clear. Free TV, the way it should be.
Ray - if you've noticed a big difference in the car, there is probably something wrong. The owner drives it the most and knows the cars characteristics.
Off to my alma mater (Ace) to pick up a few things so I can finish the weeds (at least one part), and then set the timing on the Corvair.
OK, here's another pic of winter, and remember this is southern Arizona:

RT,
So that's where my 3, 30 packs of L MIL got to.
Good afternoon guys and gals,
Please send up a prayer for Katie’s guy Dan. I think he is heading into the inquisition at his place of employment. The dark side of non-union shops and he is a manager. Make too much $$$ and you are replaced by another dumb slug. He has been there over 8 years. I hope he survives. They are coming over tomorrow and he wants to talk about it. I have been there and done that but lived to tell.
Here is a shot of the new addition on the layout. A Sunoco oil derrick soon to be a Mobilgas oil derrick. I was doing a little work on the SPF contribution for this week today. So be the 681.
Prayers to all in need, have a good night.

As usual the weather guesser muffed it again. I was just handed a weather bulletin and I can hear a thunderstorm getting wound up out there.Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe with damaging winds...large hail and frequent lightning. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Near steady temperature in the lower 90s. Southwest winds around 10 mph.Got more news on my mother. The docs think they've stopped her infection. It was peritonitis. Her kidneys are working again. However, her liver which was already on the ropes is in very bad shape. She's being watched closely. Earlier today I read through the will and testament my parents hashed out so I at least know what to expect.
Good Evening..
Now it is partly sunny and 68F out...never made it to 73F.....
Got a few things done in the trainroom that needed done, and actually expanded my 6 sq in. of space to 11 sq inches of space....

It's 66 and overcast. It did not rain here today. But downpours of rain just missed us by a few miles. I did a few yard things today but that was it. Oh and a quick trip to Kroger. Banilla is ready but I'm not sure if I'll make it to the Tardis stop tonight. The weather changes for 1 day and my sinus congestion returns. .....S.J.
JEFFERY,
Continued prayers for your MOM.

I am with Laz Jeffery,
Humm,
Please send up a prayer for Katie’s guy Dan. I think he is heading into the inquisition at his place of employment. The dark side of non-union shops and he is a manager. Make too much $$$ and you are replaced by another dumb slug.
I will be off line for a day or two. I will be turning 60 on Sunday. . Sorry to DR, Dennis if I am the reason he is not posting. I hope you are getting the kids from China.
Later guys.
Thanks guys.
Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

LAZ.........I have a far more plausible theory of where that beer disappeared to.
Prayers for you, BOC, and for Jeff and his mom. Special prayer for Charlie and his Dad. We've all had some bug today - son and I were sick all day, daughter is sick now. I stuck it out at work, but I'm sure glad this is Friday! TARDIS is ready, but Mike will have to drive.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
PS - nice vid, Kev! Great pics, Doug! Read all the posts, but just too much for comment and I'm too tired - gnite!
Good night. Got ribbon cutting for Hunters Haven new location today AM [since after midnight]. Wifey went to sleep on the couch and then I reclinerized.
Started painting bridges. Removed one from the liftgate and took it apart. Laid it out on some OSB on saw horses under shelter. Testors paint ran out.
Took Wifey to afternoon movie. Saw Hope Springs [Meryle Streep and Tommy Lee Jones] and it is funny and good. Next we will go see the new Bourne movie. Went to Target for yogart and dog treats. Next Lowes and I found large cans of paint for plastic. Yes, covers great and not as expensive as Testors. One side of bridge done. Now turn parts over and spray. BTW: dries fast too.
Bob, great job on Corvair.
Kev, great video.
Prayers for Jeffrey's Mom.
Off to bed. Sleep tight
PS: Oh the big T'storms we were suppose to get. Did not happen. Why? She forecasted them.
Nice day with temperatures in the 80's today.
Looong day at work. Looks like I'll have to spens some time there this weekend to play some catch up for this week and do some get ahead for next week.
Spent this evening in my shop working the table saw and drill press turning out wooden locomotive kits for my wife's kiddie program at the museum tomorrow. Got 'volunteered' to help with said program too.
RI52 - Not a bad thought for a back story on the scar. I'm going to have to come up with something.
I've got a business trip into the Detroit area next week. It is going to be interesting going through security there. Those full body scanners they use there will find a dollar bill or a driver's licence in your pocket. I'll bet they will find the dressing on my leg too. Wonder what would happen if I were to drop my trowsers right there to show the dressing ? I think I'm developing a bad attitude about flying.
About all for now.
Good Morning
Got them ol' T'underin'boomers coming through today...high forecast at 70F today...I just now summat is up with the weather here...something is going to come here with even more3H stuff than last month...
We had some rip snorting thunderstorms come marching through here last night...guess what I am hearing now?
Chainsaws...again.
Got to pick up a few things to pick up this afternoon...othernat...not much doing today...
Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a cool 65 degrees. Going up to 74 today with some sunshine.
Today is an easy. I have an errand to run and the usual chores to do. I will relax and take it easy. Maybe run trains later.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
It's 63 overcast with showers forecast. Number 5 grandson's birthday party this afternoon. It always seems to rain for this outdoor one. This weather change has my sinus' running. Body feels sluggish, doesn't want to move. I missed the Tardis, went to bed. Since this has already been posted on FB I guess it's ok to tell you that Charlies dad has had a heart attack, They have him in an unconscious state till at least Sunday...S.J.
Good morning. It's 77° with 92% humidity. It'll be partly cloudy today with a high of 92° but will feel like 102°.Only plan for today is to put a shelf coupler on the F7 slug. Speaking of which, I've received some very childish emails and PM's claiming that it's a dummy that's pulled along by the other locos and can't run on it's own. Well THIS SHORT VIDEO seems to say otherwise. Just because they can't build one doesn't mean I can't.Also need to do some cleanup on the layout.
