Good morning. It's 81° and partly cloudy. The high will be 100° and it'll be mostly sunny.Had a train running while I was typing this but the click-clack of wheels on the rail joints was getting annoying, so I put it in neutral and let it coast to a stop. I'll restart it after I've finished here. The temp is due to hit the century mark today. I think it may be a good time to clean the a/c filter or replace it whichever the case may be. I use fiberglass mat filters that I cut to size to fit the unit. It's cheaper than the thin piece of crap screen filter the unit came with and works 500% better. All the screen filter does now is keep the fiberglass out of the coils.Layout front: General cleanup that wasn't done yesterday. Maybe it'll get done today. I've still got the Y6B on my display shelf waiting to be packed for a trade for some items. I don't mind steamers but they're a bit out of my general era. Besides, I already have several that do nothing but hold the display track down.Outside work: What? Are you kidding? I'm not going out there unless I have to.

Aloha ! Back in the office, trying out different ways to 'see' best - I have three pairs of glasses to whip off and on. Good thing it's for only a week until the next eye is worked-on. Just missed the TARDIS last night. I got to repairing the carpet steam cleaner and one thing always seems to lead to another. Had a nice weekend though - worked as video director at church (thank goodness for the large monitors), then took the youngest to the beach after helping him attempt to fly a kite in 95 degrees with no wind. About the CD, Ray, ask someone you know with a newer computer - its very simple to make a copy of that nice CD for you.Kev, that welding scene is so neat! That sounds like quite an riding adventure on your Triumph. We have a Harley dealer nearby and I'm amazed at the folks who can barely handle their bikes. Banks and Jack, welcome back. Mike C, that is a neat conversation with the Grassi folks. Prayers for resolving your family stuff.Dennis, we started up a similar resource group for adopting. It's amazing how fast the info changes. Pat, sounds like you got what you needed on that saw. My neighbor has an earlier version of that DeWalt and is happy with it. Sounds like a nice price. Boy, what a mess that UP wreck made in OK! It's been 100+ now for a few days with more coming which is 15+ above normal. Water levels are so low that commercial rafting in the Yampa River is shutdown. We now have 12 major fires burning here in Colorado causing historical damage; ~300 homes lost so far

Hi GUYZ,
Been busy as the BEE LINE use to bee, the last few dayz. Doing yard work and going places. Went trout fishin saturday nite and caught and release 12 browns and rainbows. Losts of fun with BRO. Yesterday too In laws out to dinner at local gambling place had a nice buffet and great to talk with them. Also did the running walking and biking too. Rained this morning.
PAT, you can't beat any of those small scroll saws. I have had them at school for the kidos the last 15 years and I went through lots o blades but they are still working. And these are used by 13-14 year olds that are tough on everything. You did well.
DENNIS, tanks for the CONGAS and also keep on wlking that 30 minutes a day. Good for the mind too.
JOE D, WIFE had been drinking the champagne all along only one glass was left. Guess who got that? Not me.
JEFF, my MINNIE dog eats bananas and nectraines and all sorts of fruit with me daily. Neat pic though.
KEV,nice weilder. That machine needs a little weathering, should send it to JEFF. Looks to new to get repaired.
JACK, prayers for the FIL.
DOUG M. nice pic.
PROBE nice shifter. Did you watch any of BARRETT JACKSON? Had some great deals on there over the weekend.
Stay frosty,

jeffrey-wimberly Man, that's a lot of fires. Fighting fires used to be one of my jobs. I worked as a volunteer so I never got a penny for it and it wasn't unusual to finish one fire and move right on to another one. Busiest day I had was fighting three forest fires. Two in Louisiana the other in Texas. I finally got home at two the next morning. I have a lot of respect for fire fighters, paid or volunteer and I don't envy them one bit.

Doug Murphy, nice shot of you and the boy in front of the street car.
My son was able to make me a CD of the music I mentioned on his computer. I had two to copy. One had 20 songs, the other only 16. Seems his burner would only pick up 16 so I got all but 4 tunes out of the two original CD's.
Had another ulcer attack yesterday. I had been doing real good for about the last two weeks but let my guard down too much on food and now I'm paying the price again. Had two glazed donuts at reception for departing priest yesterday after church and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Back to bland and low fat diet now. Have to see the dentist this morning for filling. Sure don't feel like going there or anywhere for that matter.
Will see my G.I. doctor tomorrow. Looks like I will have plenty to tell him.
later,

Lunch Time:
We have been real busy here this morning. A load of 44 transformers arrived just as the clouds opened up. Rained hard for about an hour with a portion of our yard flooding about 2 feet deep.
AF53, I just bought a new power washer. 2700 PSI w/a Honda Engine. Worked great on the boat.
Prayers and Thoughts for all in Need.
I will make the Tardis tonight! (if I don't fall asleep first)
Have a Great Day!

Ray: Sorry to hear your ulcers are giving you problems. I had that back in the late 70's/early 80's. Finally got the darn thing to heal and it hasn't bothered me since, even with my love of fantastically hot hot sauce. Tabasco is water compared to it.
Evenin' boys. Sunny & 82 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. First day back was uneventful.
Train show wasn't all that. Picked up a wooden Thomas engine for Grandbaby. One guy had decent prices, but nothing I desired. The rest of the merchants will be dragging their wares around forever. If there were 100 attendees that was it. Horse show outside was more entertaining. Face it, YORK spoils ya...
Evening all got a lot done today paperwork wise but have a lot more to go.
funny thing this am I was able to get on ( have the page saved in my favorites) then about an hour later wasn't able to and wasn't all day ( was out most so when I came home still wasn't) so decided to go in thru www.trains.com and then to CTT and finally to Forums and well back in don't know what happened but anyway I'm good togo now.
Hope all had a good day mine was soso as found out somethings I didn't want to hear but oh well. It will work out in the end I guess

Good evening everyone. Was a nice day here. Did a little paperwork at work and that was all. Had to make some phone calls and make some arrangements for when I am out of the country. Wife took the kids to the movies and shopping, so when I got home, was just me and the dog. Allowed me to get some paperwork done and some layout projects done. We also got some paperwork from the INS for our kids. We needed this information to send in our VISAs for China. Now comes some more waiting, but not much more!
Doug, great shot of you and Ben. Regarding the adoption information, yes, things have certainly changed since our last voyage seven years ago. While the process may change, there are still some things that remain the same, like post adoption issues that are common to these children. I think that can be the biggest challenge so parents are properly equipped to handle things that most folks may not have had. We were quite fortunate with our daughter, no attachment issues, but there were some others. It just helps being able to talk with others who have been down that road.
Chief, don't fall into a rut of not getting to the layout to work on it. Even if help doesn't show. I remember Dave Farquar had a great suggestion of working on it for fifteen minutes per day. Doesn't matter what you do, so much as getting in there and doing something constructive. I know I had too much of a lul in my efforts. Hard to overcome and get back In the game.
John, I remember PSE&G in Hackensack used to have issues with their yard flooding. It made things interesting down there when I used to have to go in. Most of the guys were used to it happening and just dealt with it.
Got the latest OGR in the mail this morning. Read it cover to cover at work, which is unusual. Does anyone have a suggestion for a place to order the AmeriTown building fronts from? I know I can get them directly from OGR, but perhaps there is a cheaper source. Anyway, I was thinking of using some on a backdrop for the layout.
Gotta get back to the family.
God bless,
Dennis

It's 70 now
Well we went to my cousins today, about an hours drive. We decided a trip to Toledo was in order to check out the new casino. A nice facility but thumbs down on the games and slots. $10.00 blackjack min., penny slots that require 40 cents, I have no idea how they call that a penny machine. In fact there are so many of them the quarter and dollar ones are hard to find. Oh well now we know. I had my banilla but have enough for the Tardis crew...S.J.
Edit now that I think about it, I believe blackjack min. was $15.

Time for me to call it a night. Didn't get anything done on the layout. I was too busy enjoying some movies. Tomorrow afternoon I have to take my mother to a doctors appointment in town. She says she can drive there but my father and I both said on a cold day in * and that was the end of that. She's doing pretty fair considering she's in her mid 70's and has kidney and liver issues. Driving isn't one of her strong suits. I'll be taking her in her car as there's no way she can get in or out of my van without a crane or lift of some kind. It's way too high for her. Plus the car has a/c, my old van doesn't. It doesn't even have a vent blower. It's front and rear windows open or nothing. See y'all tomorrow.
Sunny and hooooot today - high 90's, triple digits in the parking lot.
The Boy Scout work caboose I won on e-bay got here today. Nice piece.
Work was still there when I got back. Picked up another project to tool up and get into production next spring. I keep telling myself that busy is good......
Caged and soaked the tomato plants tonight. Probably ought to do a nightly soaking while the temperature is so high.
All for now.
Reclinerized too long.
AF53 Off to Yankees Stadium tomorrow night! Later Ray
Lucky Duck!!!
Dennis, I "tinkered" some anyway. Did get my "brake mechanic's" stool on wheels [Snapon little seat with wheels and tool tray under seat and a bigger tray at bottom. Was made so you can sit and work on brakes and etc.] to Box. Been crawling on knees while screwing the framing together. Could have scooted on seat. Then took Snapon creeper to Box. Lay back and scoot under benchwork to wire and etc. Frankie gave me those years ago and never used much.
Took Wifey out to an early Olive Garden. Last one for a while. Blood work showed a change. One reason why I can not lose weight and feel tired. Also blood sugar elevated compared to past tests. Not diabetic. Another med to take plus low carb diet. Another blood test in 4 weeks. Tough to get old.
Had a great surprise shower. Not a flood but every little bit is good. Thank you Lord.
Good night Joe over in Jay Pan. Let us know about the coupon thingy.
Prayers for CO and the fire fighters. Blown, you are "taken care of".
Off to bed. Friend Fred will be here at 8. Box work laying Sound Stop.
Sleep tight.

54 here and already got run and walk and weights done with. Now take shower and take dog on second walk then start work on digging out tree stum. Gonna tke it out with chainsaw and madock. Nice and cool today so ganna give it a go.
DARREN, prayers for the firefighters and peoples out there in CO. Hope they get it under control. Love your state and will go out there again in the future.
CHIEF, keep on keepin on with DA WRECK TANGLE. When I was wiring my lights I made it a rule to wire 10 lights a nite to keep it going. Sometimes only did 5 but even that little bit kept the ball movin. Now that's my plan this fall/ winter.
AF, Yankers are playing my Indians, GO TRIBE!!!!!!
Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a cooler 64 degrees. Going up to 79 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. A few chores to do and some paperwork to finish. Not much else new. Lunch and a nap. I hope the Indians can win tonite from the Yankees.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Aloha. / Beauty of a day today. Dry though. White Sox still ahead of the Indians despite losing last night. We rode this too at the IRM.
Good morning. It's 80° and sunny. The high will be 103° (OUCH!) and it'll be partly cloudy. Heat advisory in effect from noon today to 8 PM cdt this evening.Gonna be a HOT one today. The expected heat index is 109° and I'll be out and about taking my mother to a doctors appointment. Fortunately we'll be in a car with a/c. It'll likely be a bit hotter in town because of all the asphalt and concrete. Glad I don't live there. This last Saturday I put two N Scale cabooses into a small paint can full of 91% alcohol with the intent of pulling them out the next morning. Well, I kinda forgot about them. It's not like they're something I'm going to be using anyway. This morning I suddenly remembered them. I had a combination of curiosity and dread as I open the can. What would I find? Would they be melted together? Would they be warped beyond belief? They had after all been in the alcohol for around sixty hours. I haven't left anything in that long before. It turns out they're unharmed. The L&N caboose is nicely devoid of paint while the SF caboose still has most of the black paint on it's cupola roof. I've rinsed them off and they appear none the worse for wear. Even the handrails are intact, nothing warped, nothing melted.Time to get about my day.
It's 69 with bright sun, going into the 80s.
Doug M. nice picture's. I remember riding them as a wee lad, before horses were invented. They were soon replaced with buses and I think a lot of the rail is still under some of the street paving. The Toledo of old was brick paved. We are goofing off today, Grocery shopping tomorrow. A nice chat with some of the guys last night...J.
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s as we get a break from the heat. Had Church directory pictures taken last night. Quickest time we ever spent there. Watched an old Twilight Zone episode on one of those Digital channels that sprung up when the stations converted over from analog signals. May scrimmage with "my" soccer girls tonight. Not much else going on. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
cnw1995 Aloha. / Beauty of a day today. Dry though. White Sox still ahead of the Indians despite losing last night. We rode this too at the IRM.
DOUG, is that a big "BUMP & GO" trolley? Hope the bumpers are working good.
Not much time to post this AM account doctor appointment soon. Spent most of yesterday running between two dental offices. Went in first for a simple filling which they parlayed into a $2000 job of root canal followed by a crown. Had to go to a specialist in another town for consultation about root canal and scheduled for July 5th. Thoroughly disgusted with the whole thing but it is what it is.
Will see G.I. doctor this morning for report on blood test and any new tricks he has up his sleeve. Ulcer flare up Sunday is under control now but barely. Still on cautious diet.
Jeffrey, I like hot stuff too but alas, I can't have it now.
Chief, hope your health issues will be OK. Keep up the good work on the box. You are an inspiration to some of us. It has been a long time since I did much new on my layout without help. I need to get motivated. Mine is about as done as it will get but needs to be maintained and wiring improved. Speaking of the Olive Garden, we have a group dinner planned there soon but I might have to pass because of my gastric problems.
Train meet coming up Sunday and barring any unforseen circumstances I should be able to make this one. Have missed the last two.
Water police out this morning warning people not to water after 8:00AM or Before 5:ooPM. Understand the reasons but I have bigger problems right now.
Will report back later after the doctor gets through with me.
Beautiful Day in NJ. Started at 57 and going to the mid 70's. Busy but managable day.
AF53, Ray, I hear Michele may be going tonight?
Dennis, Yes the yard at the "Sack" does flood, but the worse is Oradell! Looking at our yard in Raritan Center you would not think of it flooding, but the water table is very high and there are underground streams on either side of the property.
SJ, Enjoy the Relaxing/Goof Off Day.
Laz: 157 for me to go.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
La la la la LUNCH TIME!!!!
Like John said, in the 70's but here, it's WINDY!!!! Washing cars in this kinda breeze is a challenge!
My brother and his family came in from Japan, (Retired Sgt. Maj., USMC), they'll be here until the 11th.
My application for a higher position was denied, the interview went well, just over qualified...again.
SPRay and Chief, hope your "issues" heal soon..... for any one else I've missed. Been trying to catch up, but my access is limited (again).
Nice pic DougM.!!!!
Back to work I go!!!! See ya soon!

Afternoon CTTFans!
Have I mentioned recently that it's HOT and DRY here?
Well, we have begin breaking Record Highs for several days now as well as hit the highest temperature in June in recorded history. If we make 100 on Tuesday we will also hit the record for most 100+ days in a row which should happen in June. Talk to a local Police Officer yesterday and he said the heat is definitely having an impact on the public as folks are running on short fuses just because they are miserable from the heat.
Lots and lots of fires burning, we had one start yesterday that got 100% contained today but in that 24 hours in blew up to 45,000 areas (4th largest in history) and sadly took out 4 homes along with other structures.
The beast up near Ft. Collins is now 87,250 acres and growing and has now wiped out 257 homes. Seems like most of the US Fire Fighting forces have come here now that others states and the Feds can spare and it just won't die.
It's currently 96° here, a bit short of the forecast 103°,not that I'm complaining. According to WeatherBug the highs for the rest of the week will be below 100° and AccuWeather agrees. The Weather Channel however is forecasting temps at the century mark and above. So I'll have to plan my activities likewise. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. I have two new commemorative coins to add to my collection, both with certificates of authenticity. Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and Abraham Lincoln's First Inaugural Address.
