Well time to call it a night. Hope all had a good day.

Good Evening...
Well, that was just lovely..I got another two sessions to go through....
Cancer can go Beeeep itself!!!
I'm going to go into my trainroom and work on some scenery stuff....
We have storms moving in from the south and it's looking nasty outside. I told my father this morning that we'd be having storms today. He waved it off and said it never gets bad below 50%. Problem is it's not a 40% chance anymore. It's gone up to 60% and I'm now seeing rain and hearing lots of thunder. I may have to shut down in a little while.
SJ station by the house was $2.96 9/10 this am when I went by it others in the area were between $2.98 and $3.04 so its definitely lower here right now. Hope it holds out till Friday when I get paid and time for me to fill up.
Not much going on had a class at the V.A. this am for Diabetics 4 hrs from 8am till noon.
Then had a couple of other erans to run. Got home about 1:30 P.M. so my day off was shot. made some fish portions and tator tots for my lunch. Dinner will be light probably as I just got done lunch lol.
Time to run trains for a while I guess. Talk to you all later.
Good morning all,
Hope you all had a nice Father's day. My kids treated me to steak and lobster followed by coconut cake for desert at home afterward. Got a new DVD movie "Red Tails" about the Tuskeegee airman of P51 fame during WWII. Also got a book about locomotives built by Lima in the steam era.
Brutus, tough situation with your Dad and Mom with regards to smoking cessation. It was hard enough when I quit but it would have been harder with another smoker in the house. COPD is nothing to fool around with. I have it too but fortunately mine is not that bad at least for now and not smoking is the best thing I ever did. I used to think when I was smoking that when someone bugged me about it, that I would say "will I be as big a jerk as you are if I quit" but I sure don't feel that way now. I don't even like to be anywhere near second hand smoke now. I guess whatever goes around, comes around. Anyway, prayers for both of them. I know how hard it is.
Lawn is getting some brown spots but Tru Green people put some nitrogen on it today and I gave it a lot of water. Maybe that will green it up.
Pray for a college student who is a relative of my SIL undergoing extensive leg surgery at UCLA today after an injury. He hurt himself just a few days before his finals in his freshman year. They will let him take his exams when he is well enough. He is a cousin of my grandson on his mother's side.
Picking up grandson today while mother is gone to hospital and we might go for a swim if it is hot enough. I went in for the first time a couple of days ago.

Hudson#685 My son wants me to go look at a pickup with him tomorrow night. A 1989 Ford F250 4x4, 351 V8, 5 Speed Stick w/ Snow Plow. He loves those old Fords. Price seems reasonable. I'll check it out.

Good morning. It's 80° and partly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The high will be 88°. The two Atlas FP7's are still running. They've now have five hours on them since the disc brake caliper lube was put in. The unit that was giving me a problem is no longer a problem. It's now running as good as the other unit though the gears still hum a little. I'd have to say it's performance level has doubled and the shell hardly gets warm now. The motor used to get so hot you could cook bacon and eggs on it. I was thinking about mowing my parents yard today but I thing I'll hold off until tomorrow. There's a fair chance of rain today and Murphy's law would dictate that a concentrated cloudburst will gather right above me and cut loose. The chance for rain tomorrow is minimal so I'll do it then. I still have some cleanup work to do on the layout. I can see a lot more of the layout now.
Morning. Slept late. Ran errands and then a little box work while babysitting Wiley [the Yorkie pup]. We had fun. He had a tiny block of wood. I chased him all over the box. Fast little rascal running under layout framing from one end to the other. Finally caught him. Rascal grawled at me when I took his block away.
Joe, I post all grades of hours so I want to feel at home as I hope to hit Jap Pan time.
Off to meetings. Back this afternoon late.
Prayers for Blown.
All have a great week working for my SS.
Later.

Good Morning Railfans!
I got the chance to attend Goose Fest 2012 this year as part of the VIP package and WOW, it's was worth every penny! I have Day #1 <Click Here> of the three days I attended now posted on my travel blog. On Sunday we broke the record high (97F) so I was sure glad I got in nearly everything I wanted to see / do by Saturday.
Right now it's 72F heading for another record high of 99F today which is way above normal and the RED FLAG warnings are out for most of the state. The SMOKE today is heavy in the city so stepping outside is like being next to a camp fire and right now Colorado is 100% on a NO BURN situation.
FIRE NEWS:
We have several fires going now but the big one is still nasty. At this point, it's over 56,000 acres, 181 homes destroyed, 1 dead, and 45% contained. There are now 1,700 Fire Fighters on the ground and hopefully we can get all the Air Support going again but the winds have been keeping the helicopters ground.
The Springer fire the broke out near Lake George, CO is now at 400 acres and 200 people have already fled from that one
Fears of more fires breaking out today are high with the high temperatures and winds...

Aloha. Supposed to be hottest day of the year so far today. Happy Belated Bday to you, SJ! Had a nice Fathers Day: went to the Illinois Railway Museum after church to ride on century old RI coach pulled by a MILW F7 and then a North Shore interurban. Hope to have some photos later this week. Then had a cookout. Nice photo, DJ!
Off to get cataract fixed in eye number one today.

SJ,
Spank,
What color is your Camaro? Someone at work has a coupe in the same color. I like it along with the neon green. It is a much more pleasant shade than Ford's new Gotta Have It Green. If I was in the car market now, I'd honestly have a hard time deciding between a 5.0, Camaro, or Challenger.
Fife,
Might be headed to OC in three weeks. Not sure if I'll go there, or up to Jack's area to visit a friend that just moved there.
88,
Happy anniversary to you and The Q.
Nice of you to remember me Fifey,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 88 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have some errands to run and the usual chores to do around the house.
I had a nice weekend. All the kids called me on Father's Day. It was good to hear from them. Maybe a visit in the future.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.

Good morning everyone. Light day at work, so I will head in shortly . Planning to get my hide back in the gym this afternoon. Need to work off a few pounds and get myself in shape to haul kids and luggage around China for a few weeks. On the train front, I am planning for an expansion on the second level, at least with scenery. On the fun side, I have a bunch of vacation I need to take, so may try to dedicate some days to workin on the railroad.
God bless,
Dennis

Finally got some rain overnight in SE Indiana. Not sure how much, but the streets were wet this morning. Belated happy birthday to SJ! I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Lookin' like it wants to rain on the Mid-Atlantic region today. Had a rather peaceful 5 days with the Fifepup at Ocean City, although the weather wasn't that great. Developed some fans of the ukulele while I was there.
sirjames - Did you celebrate in Indiana, by chance...?

DON SHAKE & BAKE,
Sounds like a fun time on those engines. I do miss running the LOKIE and do hope to get up there over the summer and maybe work there in the fall? Time will tell, Stay cool on that engine and watch that water glass.

Hi GUYZ,
Nice here at 57 getting up to 74. Got 8 scoops of mulch delivered from the MULCH MAN. Did all but a little more to go today. Hope I have enough? Went trout fishing on Saturday nite and BRO and I caught and released 7 nice bows. Great nite fished til 845 then drank some OL Mils.
SIRJAMES, to you! What a great day you had Fathers Day and Trains and B day all in the same day. Good job, hope you got something with flanged wheels?
Oh yea, ran an easy 3 miler this morning.
Stay frosty,
Konnichiwa,
Father’s Day ended well yesterday; fortunately, the older son was only severely constipated and did not have appendicitis. He presented all the symptoms for appendicitis (same as me almost four years ago) but the doctor ruled it out with some blood work and x-rays. After an IV he was sent home with medicine which did the trick. He was better in a couple of hours. The weather is beautiful today and I had a six-mile run this morning. I planned to run farther but my GPS watch was not operating correctly. I was able to post some poor quality photos of the UTB RR earlier today as well. The older son has been having fun with the layout. The workday has flown by and I will leave soon. I need to finish mowing and edging the grass before the weekly inspection tomorrow.
Bob – I know why my timing is different but I suspect you either have a very early shift or a late one. We know the Chief isn’t working (only collecting SS) so he posts at all kinds of hours. However, I think it is odd that we’re about to have a typhoon at the same time as your monsoon. That’s a pretty cool bike.
Happy Birthday SJ! You’re only as old as you want to be.
AF Ray – Nine in a row now. It’s nice to sweep the NL East’s first place team. I wonder if Jack is even paying attention to them anymore; they are 7 ½ games back of us.
DJ Spanky – Welcome back. I hope you had a great trip. Were you teaching your sons how to put out the vibe in those photos? Great photos.
BOC – I hope the week goes as well as it can for you.
Sayonara,
Joe
Hello all
Another quiet night here on the hill.
Happy Birthday SJ!
I'm going back to the rez in two weeks! Just got my ticket on the Southwest Chief. Bus to Flagstaff then via train over Raton Pass and family will pick me up in La Junta, CO. We will we driving up to South Dakota the following Saturday. This will be the first time I will have been back on the rez in 3 years. I went every summer for 5 years and it became kind of a pilgrimage for me. Will be good to get back there and see friends.
Thought about riding the CT90 to South Dakota, but thought better of it...just kidding.
Will be an interesting next few weeks. I have a group campout next weekend and then I come back up for a day or so to run the telescope for Astronomy Camp before we shut down. Then a week in town getting things done around the house and garage (hopefully get the push rod seals done on the car, get the motorcycle started, and get some work done on the van) and then off to points north.

Happy Birthday, SJ - sounds like you had a great day plus an extra "party" yesterday with the cake at the train show
BoC - prayers for healing!
Dad is having issues due to smoking again with his COPD and CHF - Mom threw out all HIS cigs this morning and told him he quit, but she still has hers in the house. More Drama
Sounds like a nice trip, 8NT. Char picked up Kevin and dropped off Hannah - she said she was good on her own, so I stayed home and did the laundry and took it easy here at home. I did find my tub with a lot of my fastrack, so I can do a temp loop on the floor. Pizza Hut pizza and wings for dinner .
Nice chats with John, Charlie, and the birthday boy tonight
TARDIS is ready, Mike - let's fly
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good Evening
Got some train running in tonight..and we are currently going to get ready for tomorrow afternoon's appointments...yay.
Have a good night all!!
Sunny, hot and muggy here today.
Brutus - we were in Columbia yesterday too. My wife was having trouble getting her laptop to talk to her embrieroidery machine. We went to the sewing shop there to get that problem sloved. We stopped at Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Hobby Lobby, and dinner. Drove through a heck of a rain storm on the way home.
Not much interesting at the swap meet yesterday. All I came home with was a 1957 Motors Repair manual. Spent a whole $10 on it.
On the train front, an older gent has donated his 12' by 16' HO layout to the KATY museum. We picked it up today. The museum will use it as a temporary display. Looks like the easiest way to do that is to convert it into a modular layout. Looks like I'm going to be in the HO business for a while, as my wife has palns for the layout this fall.
Back to work tomorrow to contribute to the SS fund, since the number of people to be supported is now larger.
Happy birthday SJ.
All for now.
