It's 80 now and sunny, heading for 90. A cold front is SUPPOSE to bring us rain later. We will wait and see. We have a lot of green tomatoes and the bacon is waiting but it will still be awhile. Cukes are growing and the rabbits are enjoying the bean plants. I am not writing all this over again...Enjoy your day and remember that June is almost gone already..S.J.

Good morning,

Cooler today and a chance of rain.

Sorry about your game Mike.

Here is a hint. They do not belong in the United States and their first name is Japanese. Farmers around here hate them.

Good morning all,

Worst....game....ever is what I had last night.  It had to be painful to watch.  It was painful to be me.  Nothing went right.  Could not pass.  Could not run.  It was as if I was in molasses.  Weather was ok and we had subs, sort of.  Still played way too much.  We lost 3-1 although I was not on the field when two of them happened.  Supper was good, but I ate too much too late and did not get the right kind of rest.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning. 70° now. Partly cloudy. High 92°. Northeast winds around 5 mph.

Vision halfway descent for now. No plans for layout work. Yesterday was a disaster. No wish to repeat it. Suffice to say work I did will have to be redone. Sometimes I feel like throwing everything out and having nothing more th do with it.

Not same photo as last night but same subject.

Hello all

Back in the O'l Pueblo, but not for long. Lots of running around, only been awake 10 hours and I'm already tired.

Kev - those look like black eye peas to me. Cool fire effect.

Don - like the license plate frame!

Joe - should have some shipping info for you next week

Well, I'm off in the morning to Phoenix to pick up my friends Volkswagen. Should be a nice warm day. I'll grab a couple quarts of oil, several gallons of water, a fully charged cell phone, and some positive thoughts. I'll be sure to stop at the crossing of the old Magma Arizona RR for an oil stop and a picture for you guys.

Talk to ya tomorrow.

Bob

P.S. the ZW is finally up and running!

Good Evening All!

Stourbridge Lion,  Glad to hear you had a good trip, sure wish it could have been better!  I saw some pictures of how #5 was unloaded at the Museum, and how simple it was.  I've been looking all over at Knotts for a place that a hole could have been dug next to some track.  But, alas there isn't anywhere.  I think that was the primary issue.  But know one is talking about it.  The only way would have been by a crane, breaking the #3 into two pieces.  Knotts REALLY blew it by waiting until the last minute!  Sorry!

Chief, The layout progress is GREAT!  Of course the track pieces and switches will fit, did you have any doubt? Cool

Had a interesting couple of days this past week-end,  I was in the cab alone for awhile, and a steam leak began spraying at the Throttle linkage.  Now the only thing I know for sure, is a small steam leak will soon become a large leak.  It was determined by the engineer, that the leak was "OK",  Came into work the next day, and found out the leak got worse over night.  In the morning, the Throttle linkage had to be "repacked", as a result the engine was done until after 1pm.

Then one of the guests, was asking me some questions about the engine and its history.  As it turned out he is the "Fireman" on engine #3751.  Made mention about a "cab ride" and he gave me a business card, and said to get in touch with him.  That would really be great!

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day!, I had two days off and been trying to get caught up on chores,, etc.  Go back to work tomorrow fof the next 5 days.  (Some part-time status, huh!)  BTW got a license plate frame for Father's Day, says "My Other Car Is A Steam Engine".  Looks really cool!

Take Care ALL and God Bless!

Partly cloudy and about 90 today.

Won a few more empty flat cars on e-bay yesterday.  Snagged a Boy Scout work caboose too.  Guess I'll have to start shopping for a Boy Scout themed locomoive now.

Brutus - you had a chance to try out your new command control switches yet?  I got a pair recently, but have not had time to try them out.

Got some insight tonight on the intermittant speaker in the driver's door in my Cobalt SS.  Was driving along, turned the radio up a bit and noticed a flashing light in the driver's side foot well.  Looked at it again and noticed it was flashing in time with the bass beat.  I think there is a bad connection in the speaker wiring that was sparking.  I'll need to track that down soon.

All for now.

Kev - is it some kind of beans?

BoC - Prayers!

HOT day in Saint Louis.  Work work work, but getting some stuff caught up at least.  Got home and ran the hose on the new bushes and ornamental stuff.  Chewy helped by watering the lawn.  She was down sniffing around the woods, but came back when I called her.  Then I grilled out some burgers and hotdogs for dinner.  Char brought me some cold beer and all was good.

Nice chat tonight with SJ, Doug, and Charlie.  TARDIS is ready and we have extra burgers and hotdogs, banilla, and four Blue Moons.  Come and get it!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

It's time for me to call it a night. I watched an old Errol Flynn movie tonight called 'The Dawn Patrol'. It's a WWI flick about a British major who has to send up daylight flights regardless of their chances of getting back and what such responsibility can do to a man. If you get a chance to, watch it. My vision is still terribel  and I'm have trouble seeing this so see y'all tomorrow.

Off to bed.  Physical at 9 AM tomorrow.  Off to bed.

OH! got the OSB underlayment down on half the outer edge framework.  Had to stop for an afternoon meeting.  Also pulled up some track from layout and laid it out to see if switches and etc actually fitted as drawn.  They did.  Once all underlayment is down [may finish that tomorrow afternoon], Sound Stop goes down.

Sleep tight.

Jeff, take care and get checked out.

Taking care not a problem. This has been happening this time of the year for the past fifteen 0or or years. That's why I got my drivers license renewed a month early when I could ace the eye test.

Kev: like the hobo camp fire. Too bad the HO ones don't look as good.

Doug, if memory serves me right, that was called "Op-Sail".  I got to see it too.  I also got to go on the Eagle in Baltimore many years ago.  Prior to that, I saw it in Bermuda back in the eighties. It is a handsome ship.  There was also a German ship that was green, don't recall the name, Graf something.

Not much else happening around here.  As to dealing with the heat and humidity, thank God for air conditioning.

Jeff, take care and get checked out.
