Good Morning:   With "Debby" churning off the coast and rain in the neighborhood, it's an ideal day to play with the trains.  Have a great day.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Pleasant day in the Land of Pleasant Living (old National Beer commercial).  Going to the Great Scale show @ 10, then to the pool.  Last day of staycation.

KRM - I second that!  It's been fun watching your "garden" grow.

Banks - Glad you made it back across the border with your license intact.  Even I was amazed by the number of trooper cars on 95, going through Virginia. One or two of my coworkers learned they don't mess around, either...Whistling

Blueberry - a while back Buckeye spoke of slipping over the Mason-Dixon.  Perhaps he's deep in Reb territory.  Haven't seen him in Maryland.

We had a nice summer day with temp around 80. I spent as much time outside as I could. Even had my nap with the patio door open.  Granny tried a new recipe for Mac & Cheese, it was tasty but dry. Next time granny will adjust as all cooks do. Had a chat tonight with Charlie, Kevin,  and RT. Brutus was a no show, very unusual, hope all is well there. Banilla was good tonight..S.J.

Rushed home from lake house today just in time for Wifey, SIL and Hubby to attend the NC Symphony performance.  They had "young sweet thing" conducting the 80's rock.  They did an excellent job.  Singers too.

A Yankee slipped over the M&D and back up Nawth and we did not catch him. Crying  Glad you had a safe trip, Banks.

Need sleep.  Cooked squash until 12:30 AM this morning [late getting to lake house].  Then had to wait for it to cool.  Put two bags in freeze at the lake house.  Then Lucy jumped on me and barked at 6:50 this morning.  Worked on dock until 1:30.  Mowed and drove home.

Sleep tight all.

Hello all

Back from Beaufort NC.

Car is unloaded but most of the stuff needs put away

Been out of touch for a week. Crossed the Mason Dixon twice with no resistance. Fifes brothers in VA were busy today. I saw at least two dozen while passing through there today. All but three were writing tickets. Only ones I saw going both directions.

Not sure whats up on the Pot. It'll take me a few days to catch up.

Hill climb tomorrow. Try to get back on Monday or Tuesday

Prayers for those in need

Time for me to call it a night. I popped the two cabooses back into the alcohol (new and clean) to dissolve what's left of the paint. They look a bit tacky with bits of paint sticking off at all angles. It's been my experience that Bachmann models can take a long time to be stripped. I've had to leave some HO models in to soak for forty-eight hours or more with no harm to the plastic. See y'all tomorrow.

Well these pieces didn't have any blood on them. They just like watermelon. We throw the rinds and pieces in the lake and they go in after them.

Kevin, that is a nice scene coming together.  That is something I wish CTT would spend more print space on, how folks create certain scenes and layout methods.

Dennis, If you or anyone would like to know how to do something I have done just send me a PM and I will help you out.

I just like trying to do things without paying the price of readymade Wink Right Fifedog???

Good Evening

Well, our part of the yard sale did pretty good...$900 ..a few others had about the same but most were in the $200-300 area. So my rap bit must have done the trick....even if I look like a bedraggled little muffinhead....WhistlingBlindfold

Anyways...we had a good time and saw a lot of folks from around the area...so that was a fine day to be had...Big Smile

Rich, not sure what it is because it is not black and white. But I do like it!! Wink

You know today something happened when I was on the bike. I went past a camp ground where there were guys standing in the street to let bikers out onto the road, I was driving on like I should stop. Anyway they let these two woman bikers out in front of me and they were doing about 5 MPH and the one did not know how to shut off her left-hand turn blinker. So I was thinking about passing them and before I could. "THANK GOD"!!! some stupid SOB flew around me on the left with no thought what so ever. We could of all been dead. Then the two woman bikers took off following the stupid As*H%*&s.

So I got to thinking that all those stupid jurks we see all week on the road doing stupid things must just get on a bike on the weekend. No wonder there is so many motorcycle deaths every year.

That looks very nice.

Well I had the Bachmann boxcar in to soak for twelve hours and 91% alcohol didn't even faze the paint. Model is unharmed as well.

Ray, thanks, I should have more clear on that.  The $50.00 is all that they are given by the state.  They do get a rearing fee as part of the adoption.  That is one great thing about adopting from China.  You know the system, there is a set fee for each leg of the journey.  No corruption.  The orphanages do the best they can with what they have.

Kevin, that is a nice scene coming together.  That is something I wish CTT would spend more print space on, how folks create certain scenes and layout methods.

Well, we spent the day with some friends for their son's birthday party.  It was nice, but happy to be home.  Will do violin with the kids and then some layout work.

God bless,

Dennis

Afternoon all!

Been AWOL again. So much going on here with work and home by the end of the day it is time to collaspe.

Spent a week and a half working on a new vehicle for the new grad son. That took all of my spare time but we finally closed the issue last night. he now has a Jeep Wrangler 4 door. Pretty neat.

Made progress on the garden shed foundation and then found out I am going to have to move it 3 feet due to city "super secret" restrictions. Turns out the city in updating their web site lost the lastest regulations on outbuildings. Bang Head

Will be in and out the next few weeks due to continued work load (big project) and summer fun Cool

Fifer - OW, OW, OW - my eyessssss......

Hope all are well and Angel for those in need.

Regards, Roy

I just looked in on the Bachmann boxcar I have soaking in the alcohol. So far no apparent harm to the car nor to the paint. That was some pretty tough stuff I was using about twenty-five years ago. Krylon gray primer I think.

Good morning all,

Went for a walk this morning but getting warm.  Cleaned out filter for air conditoner and not a minute too soon.  Should work better now.

Chief, thanks for the pictures.  Layout is coming along nicely.  You will have a nice show place there for your friends.  Looking forward to seeing trains running.

jeelectric, good to see your post which indicates you made it back home OK.  Hope you had a nice visit out here in California.  It was a pleasure to meet you.  Just wish we had more time.

Doug Murphy, I don't have a CD burner on my computer.  Is that something you can add on?  Maybe I can find somebody who has one that can do it for me.

Laz, belated congratulations on your anniversary.  Best wishes for many more.  I'm going to start calling you the marathon man after all the running, walking, hiking and bike riding you do.  You ought to live to be a hundred at that rate.  Does Mrs. Laz run with you?  Maybe she read the book "It's OK not to Run".  Just Jealous.  I only walk about 30 minutes a day and thought that was good.

Dennis, Amazing that $50 is all they get for each child at the orphanage.  I hope some of the money that you and others have to pay will go to help but not holding my breath.  Hope you and the new kids will be together soon without any further delays.

Took a nap yesterday afternoon.  Layed down about 5:00PM and didn't wake up until about 8:00PM.  The wife and my oldest son were wanting to know "when are we going to eat".  I have spoiled them with doing the cooking sometimes.  Thought about taking them out for dinner but everyone was so hungry we just threw together some bacon and eggs.  That was probably better than restaurant food anyway.

Might go out with friends for dinner tonight.  They usually like to go on Saturday or Sunday.  I have been able to tolerate food better in the last couple of weeks since I have been on the new meds thankfully.  Will see G.I. doctor Tuesday.

Joe, regarding Buster Keaton, he had a bit part in Mad Mad Mad World but don't think he talked in that either.  I did see him in a movie with Van Johnson and Judy Garland.  I think it was "The Shop Around the Corner" in which he plays the nephew of the store owner.  He had a speaking part in that.  When Buster signed a contract with MGM, that wrecked his career for doing the kind of stuff he was good at.  The studio just gave him stupid parts.  One of the last things he did was a public relations film for the Canadian Government I think in which he rides a track car (speeder) all across Canada.  It was in color and showed off the scenery along the way.  It was called "The Railrodder"  Funny flick!

later,

Ray

Another nice day on the North Bluff. Sunny and will be mid 80s,

 No big plans for today.

Things went well yesterday with the granddaughter. I made the 80 mile round trip to get her and she was glad to see me so that always helps. Doctor said she has an upper respiratory infection and ear infection to boot. She was very good and slept about 1.5 hours when we got home. She seemed to respond well to the medication so we got the grocery shopping done too. Thanks for the concerns and well wishes. She will be fine.

LAZ congrats on 16 years, you’re a newlywed.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Chief, Box is looking good. Looks like a lot of work. Bow

Dennis & Hudson John, The passenger car was an easy fix but it should of never been needed. Looks like the assembler had the wires to the pick-up trucks too tight coming out of the body of the car so it pulled the wires off?? Hmm

Fifedog, Glad you got to skip the drama. Whistling

Jeffery that is a good movie but I don’t remember the name. Those sixties flicks were funny and stupid too. Smile

Blownout Cyl. Sounds like you are making the best out of a bad thing getting the free wood. Yes

Darren, Prayers that the fires get controlled soon. Angel

Chuck Hope you wife gets to feeling better soon after all someone has to keep an eye on you. Wink
