Morning CTTFans...
It's just surreal to see what is happening here in Colorado with all the fires. For nearly 3 weeks now we are hearing and seeing reports of someone losing their homes as these massive fires tear into communities. Here is one of the shots I work up to today on the various news feeds showing northern Colorado Springs burning near the Air Force Academy...

Aloha. . Another beautiful day. Still dry. Lots of brush fires and the corn is not coming on well. Missed the TARDIS again last night. Watched the White Sox almost give another one away to the Twins wit 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. They're still in first place. Rode behind this F7 at the IRM.

Good morning everyone. Still on call and I get to go in a bit later. We can finally send off the VISA applications today as we got the provisional acceptance for our kids to immigrate. That was one of the things we had to wait on. Now, the US consulate in China tells us when we can go get our kids!
Joe, thanks, I will look into the bay of E for the store fronts. The firm I think you were referring to is Elfin Models. They can get pricey on the building fronts, and I am trying to do this on my own, with my own skills, or lack there of.
BC, prayers as you endure the Chemo and treatments.....no fun at all.
Prime to get back to the family.
God bless,
Dennis

Good morning. It's 71° and partly cloudy. The high will be 101° and it'll be most sunny. Today I'll be busy with a couple of other hobbies, nothing anybody is interested in.My nephew found out (again) the folly of loaning his truck out. He let a friend use one of his pickups for a 'small' moving job. It came back with a busted tranny. No forward or reverse. So he's having to depend on a truck that has no reverse. If the weather is nice he can ride his motorcycle. He wondered if he could use my vehicle. He was quickly told to forget it. I need mine for my own use as I can hardly get off my own property without it. Just walking to the end of the drive and back is agonizing. Well my father had been feeling somewhat weird for the past couple of months and his vision has been shifting back and forth from good to not so good. He told me what he felt like and I told him it sounds like diabetes. He needed to have his doctor do a blood test and find out what's going on. Well a few days ago he had the test done. He was afraid the dreaded 'C' word would come up. It didn't. However he did find out I was right. He's a diabetic. His fasting level was five hundred. I told him some years ago all that natural sugar was gonna come back and bite him. Too much of anything, even apples, oranges, grapefruit and such isn't a good thing. He's going to have to make some major changes in his diet. He likes a lot of wheat breads and fruits and now he's finding out he'll have to cut back on those. Now he knows why I don't eat a lot of fruits and those 'high energy' nutritious breads. My mother's doctor appointment yesterday came out good. She's doing what she needs to do which is good but what's bad is she's doing only what she needs to do and nothing more. She needs to increase her level of activity. Laying on the couch doesn't cut it.Well, that's it for today.

Hot in STL as well. Nothing much going on today, just work. Char went to Washington, she'll be back on Friday night. Tomorrow night we have dinner plans with family. Prayers for healing and good health for us all, esp BoC.
Tardis is warmed up and atomic battery is set to power. Let's go :)
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good evening everyone. Was in the meeting this evening and got called out for an emergency. All worked out. Joe, thanks, I will let you know if we do come through Japan. May have to go through hong kong.
Ray, glad things went well. Regarding the new medication and lowering immunity, not to worry, just be vigilant when it comes to any sickness. Don't wait till they have to haul you off in an ambulance to get treatment. If a cold lasts more than a few days, get seen.
Chief, glad you were able to cut that outside. I remember how tough it was for you last time. Make sure you wear a mask! Don't want to damage your lungs with the dust from there.
I am bushed! Hope you all have a blessed evening.
Nice day today going to get hot tomorrow and then baking on Thursday 101 + Sleep tight. I can’t be a groupie. Nice pictures DougM,

Sleep tight. I can’t be a groupie.
I can’t be a groupie.
Nice pictures DougM,
Prayers for all in need.
Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Good evening guys,
Had a good visit with G.I doctor this morning and got some answers to questions I had. The doctor was a lot more forthcoming this time. Maybe I asked the right questions. He doesn't need to see me for another three months which is an improvement over last time. He told me that I might be on the new medication for at least a year. I am a little concerned because it tends to lower your immunity but the doctor says the risk are small compared to the benifits. Got the dinner bell so have to run.

Ohayō,
It’s been a busy past couple of days. I’ve been taking care of some odds and ends around the house and my schoolwork has been keeping me busy as well. The weather is very comfortable right now with highs in the low-70s and sunny skies. The Yankees beat the Tribe again and it looks like another winning streak is upon us.
Chief – I have never heard of it for our BX/PX but I have heard of it for our commissaries (grocery stores). However, overseas commissaries honor coupons up to six months past their expiration date; the stateside commissaries do not honor expired coupons. This also only applies to manufacturer coupons and not store-specific ones. I’ll PM you my address.
Dennis – I hope all goes well with the upcoming trip. If there is any way I can help as you’re passing through please let me know. I’ve seen Ameri-Towne fronts a little cheaper on eBay. I also have seen a company that uses the fronts to create complete blocks which they sell. Obviously they are not cheaper but they are professionally done and look great.
I’ll pray for all of us in need.
Sayonara,
Joe
It's 77 now, middle 80s today. No rain.
I just came in at 9:45 pm, a beautiful day and it was still light out without skeeters. No rain remember..No train news but got banilla. Waiting for the thingy to land...S.J.
It's still 97° here. Took my mother to her appointment at 2:45. Finally got back home at 6:30. Polished off some leftover pork ribs for dinner. Now I'll just lay back and watch 'The Last Starfighter'. No trains today. Didn't even run any. All I did trainwise was to take those two N Scale cabooses out of the alcohol and rinse them off. That was around ten or eleven hours ago. They still show no ill effects like warping. Anybody know what alcohol does to resin? Maybe I should get hold of a resin item and throw it in the alcohol in the name of science. Science was one of my favorite subjects in school. It would be interesting to see what happens. I just don't have anything made of resin. Oh well. Something will turn up. I got a couple of comments on my commemorative coins. That's more than I expected. I wouldn't think many modelers would be collectors of commemorative coins. I used to have a sizable collection. I had to sell it off about ten years ago to pay medical bills. Didn't even get a twentieth of what it was worth. Some of them were limited issues. Not these things they issue on TV for years. Who knows how many hundreds of thousands or millions there are of each one? That has no real collector value other than just having it. I have a dozen like that, no two the same. Well I don't want to bore you with coins so I better get to doing some movie watching before I get really depressed. Wish I had some popcorn but that jacks the blood sugar up too high.
Evening all not a whole lot going on here today. Basically it has been a paperwork day for me which looks like the next couple of days will be. need to take off for a bit Thursday as its wife's birthday and Friday is our 28 anniversary so we will celebrate both on Thursday.
Trying to refinace the house and trying to do some Paperwork needed for the V.A. I have to turn in. just been one of those days lol.
Evening CTTFans!
Well, a storm has rolled in with little rain and lot's of Wind and Lightning. Boulder is now reporting 2 major fires have broken out. Colorado Springs was had a wind shift pushing the fire towards the city and 12,000 folks are told to be ready to evacuate. Homes are reporting as being lost in the fires tonight
Air Force has arrived with multiple C-130's ...
Good Evening...
We got sunshine and 72F weather here...and we be going up to 82F tomorrow ...no stick though
Slept in this morning and had a lazy day here...good to just rest on occasion ...
Late afternoon all. Well, all the two layers of Soundstop are down. Yes, all but where the mountain and coal mine goes which is not much. Now we still have not built the peninsula. That is last and not hard. Just a long rectangle. Will seal the Sondstop tomorrow AM to stop the dusting. Start laying track tomorrow afternoon.
Was cooler here today so cutting Soundstop [with razor knife] was cooler as done outside.
Chat later.

Good afternoon Y'all! About done with work, but we have a medical executive meeting down in mahogany hall. I have to wait till 5:30 for that, then I can get back to my family. I would rather be operating than meeting.
John, I think PSE&G goes out and intentionally buys flood properties! I remember they would get flooding every high tide in the Hackensack River, following a rain.
Will try checking in later. Hope the sick are on their way to good health.
Well, it's official, we reach the 100+ degree mark for 5 straight days which ties the all time record.
jeffrey-wimberly I have two new commemorative coins to add to my collection, both with certificates of authenticity. Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and Abraham Lincoln's First Inaugural Address.
Very Nice!
It's currently 96° here, a bit short of the forecast 103°,not that I'm complaining. According to WeatherBug the highs for the rest of the week will be below 100° and AccuWeather agrees. The Weather Channel however is forecasting temps at the century mark and above. So I'll have to plan my activities likewise. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. I have two new commemorative coins to add to my collection, both with certificates of authenticity. Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and Abraham Lincoln's First Inaugural Address.
Afternoon CTTFans!
Have I mentioned recently that it's HOT and DRY here?
Well, we have begin breaking Record Highs for several days now as well as hit the highest temperature in June in recorded history. If we make 100 on Tuesday we will also hit the record for most 100+ days in a row which should happen in June. Talk to a local Police Officer yesterday and he said the heat is definitely having an impact on the public as folks are running on short fuses just because they are miserable from the heat.
Lots and lots of fires burning, we had one start yesterday that got 100% contained today but in that 24 hours in blew up to 45,000 areas (4th largest in history) and sadly took out 4 homes along with other structures.
The beast up near Ft. Collins is now 87,250 acres and growing and has now wiped out 257 homes. Seems like most of the US Fire Fighting forces have come here now that others states and the Feds can spare and it just won't die.
La la la la LUNCH TIME!!!!
Like John said, in the 70's but here, it's WINDY!!!! Washing cars in this kinda breeze is a challenge!
My brother and his family came in from Japan, (Retired Sgt. Maj., USMC), they'll be here until the 11th.
My application for a higher position was denied, the interview went well, just over qualified...again.
SPRay and Chief, hope your "issues" heal soon..... for any one else I've missed. Been trying to catch up, but my access is limited (again).
Nice pic DougM.!!!!
Back to work I go!!!! See ya soon!
