Aloha. Paradise Sunny and Hot, as Kev says. TGIF!  Since I missed his 'real' birthday, I'll celebrate with the youngest today - maybe go bowling and play video games. Looked for the TARDIS last night around 830 and 9 CST but must've missed my beacon. Will try again tonight.  Broke the disk on my Dremel trying to cut out some of the engine house for Ivor. Good thing I was wearing gloves and eye protection because it went everywhere - I think I'll give up and try something else.

Have a safe trip Jack.

Good morning. It's 72° and mostly. The high will be 90°. There's a fair chance of showers and thunderstorms.

No plans for today except to stay cool and dry and do some more cleanup work on the layout. Tools need to be put away and project debris sorted into what to keep and what to toss out.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps near 90.  Took it easy last night.  Good thing.  Work is going well.  Chief, you forgot to mention (again) how the soccer fields were progressing at the new high school.  Indy Cars are at Milwaukee this Saturday on ABC.  Both my teams will have a 10 grid spot penalty so they are behind the 8 ball before they even start.  Hopefully they can salvage some top 10s out of the deal.  I had cereal and donuts on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL after going to see "Snow White and the Huntsman" tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

OH my goodness!!!  Got in at 9 tonight from Middle School ribbon cutting and Chamber Expo.  Got garbage and recycle to the street.  Burg in and out.  Two Sonic dogs [NY style] and onion rings.  Went to sleep waiting for the news.  Had a text that the Mayor was on early news.  Missed it.  Just woke up.  Mirra [cat] in and in bed.  Now me after coating tick bites from yesterday with meds.  Long day.  Hope to sleep late as no one to wake me.  Wiley [puppy, Lucy, Finn and Wifey at the lake house.

Kev, why not photos of your work.

Banks, best to the son and his farming.

Prayers for all needing them.

Dennis, yes fast building but new High School going up faster and it is a "monster" [school building, gym, football stadium, baseball fields, track and all].  Will be ready to open fall 13.  Started moving dirt less than 12 months ago.

Konnichiwa,

The weather is fantastic today: very sunny and warm.  The usual tasks at work today are not too demanding so I may leave early so I can get a head start on some yard chores.  The wife and I have a date scheduled for tonight so I definitely cannot work late.  Yesterday, my RMT USAF coal hopper set arrived.  It is a neat set and I’m very glad I ordered it.  I will have to run them this weekend with the RMT USAF missile car set I have.  I may have to seek out a USAF Beep on eBay to pull them.  My lunch break is about over so I should get back to work now.

AF Ray – Congratulations on the promotion.  Zacchaeus was the chief tax collector and everything worked out for him – you should be alright. Wink The Yankees are definitely on a roll and I hope it continues.

V8 – I hope the dentist can adjust your teeth.  Both my parents have dentures and they never look comfortable.

Banks – I’m glad all is going well for your mom.

Doug M. – My 8 y/o son likes Bey Blades too.  He is also a fan of these little Battlegans or Bakugans transforming toys.  He can buy them for only 100 Yen ($1.23 today) at the local Japanese store.

Dennis – Thanks.  It’s great to see so many churches have signed up for it.  I’ll be more than happy to send you a check for it.

Sayonara,

Joe

Howdy guys - got an email and they shipped the switches I ordered - command control fastrack O36 for a temp layout that I can reuse for halloween and Christmas.

BoC - continued prayers Angel

Nothing much going on today - minor chaos at work, but nothing we can't handle.  Looking forward to the weekend.  Char wants to pay off the braces on the kids right away, so don't know when I'll get that new shower stall - could be a few weeks.  I still have some small jobs to do in the basement tho, so it's not a major stall.

TARDIS is ready - let's go!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening CTTFans...

FIRE NEWS:  The monster is now over 52,000 acres and at least 118 structures lost.  The crews were able to get a 15-20% containment but the fire crowned over the top of HWY 14 and the Poudre River so tonight the evacuation of 80 more homes had to be order  as the fire tonight is racing up a gulch towards the Glacier View Meadows neighborhood..  This is on the northern front.  There are now 1,300 Fire Fights on the lines.

Good evening everyone.  Doug, my son has a friend who was into Bey Blades, they did seem like fun, but he only played for a little while.  Never got his own, but does play on occasion.

Joe, I know it is being recorded and shown in the Pacific Rim in August.  That may be a better time to see it.  I will inquire about specifics.  Right now, they have over 700 churches registered.

Chief, that was quick building the new middle school.  Locally, we have a new library and school about to open.  Everyone has problems, either growing problems or dying problems... I'd rather have growing problems.

Have a blessed night everyone,

Dennis

Keep the weather clear for me in the Midwest, boys.  The road trip to visit my in-laws is on.  Estimated time of departure 0500 tomorrow with an overnight in Euclid Ohio (650 miles) and arrival in Elgin IL early Saturday evening (400 more miles).

Have a safe trip Jack, As for the weather here it will be nice but plenty HOT. I hope the AC is good in that hot rod Cadillac you have. Whistling

BTW you are older than you think. A 17 hour drive without help is tuff. The drive I dit to Fargo was 10.5 non stop and I was wiped out. Now with help I think it would be okay if it was someone you could trust at the wheel. But for me , if you are like me when my wife drives I get more burnt out than if I just drove it myself. Thunderstorms earlier today were a bit more severe than yesterdays but still tame compared to some I've seen. Some thunder, lightning, wind and rain but we're still here. Borrowed my mother's car for the trip to Wal-Mart earlier so I got to have some fun with a quick little sports car. A V6 is too big for a G6. And I went by a gas station and had it filled up so she wouldn't have to do it.

I wouldn't take that bet, I would be more like maybe 20 miles if your lucky.

Aloha. Paradise Sunny and hot today. Scrubbed out all the garbage pails today, along with other outside chores. Then took the youngest out to spend his birthday $. He's into these cool 'battling' tops called Bey Blades - a great non-electronic thing to play with - he's at a good age when he's thrilled with something simple and inexpensive -- then took him to Chuck E Cheese to play some games. I carefully picked 1 pm when no one was there - except Chuck... Yes Got my eye drops to start for the first cataract surgery on Mon. Found a nice US Rail history for $1 at the library extra-book sale!  AF53, we still love you Wink   Good news, SJ. Prayers for BoC and Brutus' mom. Safe travels, Jack. You'll be about 10 miles away when you get here. Maybe you'll need a break for a brew somewhere along Randall Road...

Took the router to Wal-Mart and turned it in for a refund. Used the money to fill a hole in the cupboard. Now the grocery supply looks a bit better.

More thunderstorms rumbling to the north-east and south-west. Looks like we're about to get slammed again.

Good afternoon all,

only excitement here so far today was some yahoo in a city maintenence truck blowing high pressure air through the sewer pipes in the street to clean them out.  Only problem, it caused sewer gas to back up in all the houses on the street.  Even got some crud back up in a bathroom sink,  Had to clean and disinfect.  What a bunch of idiots!  How about a little warning next time.

Possible get together tonight for trains if I can round them all up.

Watched a little of the U.S. Open golf tournement this morning but first day is always a crap shoot.

Took the old 87 Buick out for a drive last night for about 45 minutes to charge up the battery and make the tires round again.  Drove over to nearby park and lake.  Car ran great.

Next door neighbor departed last night for Utah with his family and three collie dogs in a rented motor home for a one week trip.  He told me some sad news that one of his original five collies was killed recently.  He had given a friend two of the dogs to comply with city ordinance limit of 5 dogs.  The dog got out of the yard somehow and was hit by a car.

Chief, looking forward to box pictures.

Took a pass on eating Mexican food out last night with friends.  Can't handle yet.

later,

Ray

Lunch Time:Anytime someone mentions the Marines, I think of the Beverly Hillbilly's episode when Jethro wants to be a Marine and they go to Marineland. One of my favorite episodes.

Just like Jethro to go to Marineland in search of marines. That boy was as bright as a three watt appliance bulb on a sunny day!Laugh

Darren: Having been a firefighter for over fifteen years I'm no stranger to big fires. Those big runaway forest fires always scared me the most. It was real easy to be taken off guard while fighting the fire on one side and it sneaks up from the other side. I learned real fast to always go in with a group of three or more and keep my head on a swivel, constantly looking in every direction. I was caught unawares by forest fires a couple of times and have the burns to prove it. Those guys have my respect and prayers. The best of luck to them all. They're going to need it.

Tried for the past couple of hours to hook up a router. Followed the instructions to the letter. No matter what I did all I got was 'A Network Cable Is Unplugged'! Everything hooked up exactly as it should be. Darn POC is going back to Wal-Mart at the earliest opportunity! Looking at the box I see what the problem is: MADE IN CHINA!

Good morning. Beautiful day on the North Bluff above Marseilles. 69 now going to the 80s. Then like MikeC said the heater will turn on for the weekend.

Not much going on with the train front, wifey has been keeping me busy with yard beautiful work. I have been doing some night hunting. Three Raccoons and two Rabbits in the last week.

I am looking to get a SKS on Friday only because I think it is a good deal. It has a collapsible stock and the original stock, Grenade launcher, case and 1,000 rounds of ammo for a nickel. Thing is I don’t need it but the guy selling it needs some finical help at the moment and that guy is my son. Huh? Guess it will be our father's day gift exchange.

Chief, Project pictures? I guess I could thake a picture or two of the gravel in the lane if you want, or the flowers allllll over the place. I see my NS Dash 8 40-C is in the mail and should arrive on Friday.

V8 , I am with you I will do whatever I can to keep my teeth. Best thing I have found to help with it is getting the 6 month cleaning and check ups.  Yes

AF53, That is okay, Somebody has to be the assessor. Ours were elected in Plainfield and I found a nice campaign contribution helped keep me off the radar screen.  Whistling

JimProbe, I find my DSL works better when I pay the bill. Laugh

Not much planned for today going out for some quiet time in the shed before momma gets up.

BOC, Brutus and all of you in need. Our prayers are for you. Angel

As Chuck would say.

Y’all have a great Thursday!

Good Morning CTTFans!

It's 59F heading up into the high 80's today with the potential for thunderstorms heading back into the area in the next couple of days.  Rain YES, Lightning / Winds NO!

FIRE NEWS:  As of yesterday there are now 1,000 Fire Fighters on the lines with most making their heroic stand on the eastern edge to save as many homes as they can and keep this beast from getting into the city itself.  They have gotten a 10% containment in the NE corner where this fire has burned up into an old fire so they caught a break where they can start and hold a line along the eastern edge.  The North, West, and South edges are burning out of control.

Here is another video that has taken by folks that live in the area...

It's 63 with bright sun. Granny left early to help sit in the garage for the yard sale. I suspect sit is what they will be doing most of the time. But one never knows. Me, I will just goof off and have a nice quiet nap..S.J.
