Happy Memorial Day!

We had a very nice and relaxing Sunday yesterday.  I was able to watch the UFC fights I had recorded earlier in the day; the fights were very entertaining.  I still haven’t received my notification that my digital copy of the latest CTT is ready.  I thought it would have been ready the same time as the print copies are being mailed out.  I hope it will be ready prior to the 2 Jun newsstand date.  We are enjoying the holiday today with relaxation and food.  I’ve been smoking a pork butt (shoulder) since 11:00 am and it should be ready in about three more hours.  We will make sure to observe our moment of silence at 3:00 pm our time to remember our fallen.  I hope all you have a great day.

BOC – I’ll be praying for you this week.

Never forget,

Joe

Man am I beat, lol!  Son and I worked on the basement again today from lunch until about 5PM.  We finished the drywall at the base of the stairs and all except for about an 18 inch by 1 inch strip I need to put in to cover a board where the ceiling transitions to a slope.  We also did an enclosure around a pipe, where I built a drop down section - man, I don't know the proper term for this, but basically a free standing box hanging down to enclose a pipe, lol!  Except for the bathroom (still need to get a shower before I finish the last drywall in there), I just have to put up the corner beads and do some screws on a few pieces here and there, then it's tape and mud time baby!  On track to be all done for the FALL, when I plan to start my layout.

Prayers for BoC and all in need.

Congrats again, Doug - it's a real accomplishment I know.

TARDIS is ready, but I'm too tired to drive.  Let's go, Mike - I'll be in the lounge with a cold one and some nice chatter with Kev, SJ, Charlie and of course RT - we're still chatting Thumbs Up

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good Evening!

Trip to Pocono was great...left at 0500 and got back 0030 next morning.  Reconnected with many of my Mopar brethren....I went in during the business meeting.  Much applause and greetings....a great time. I stayed for the traditional Saturday dinner.  Got my fill and breaking bread with friends is always a great time.  I road with a friend who just completed his '70 Challenger RT/SE Hemi....with 750 horse on tap.  Exciting ride to be sure......as I'm STILL smiling!

250 miles on the Harley, total.  Trip home was not good, drizzle and fog were horrible.  Thank the Lord he chose to keep the deer in the forest and not on the road...

I haven't kept up on the pot lately, running around and working has kept me busy.  We've been running a lot of rescues lately due to the holiday.  Flipped vehicles and such make life....interesting....

Angel for our friends in need and ailing.

Thank you to our service men and women, active or retired.  Your actions keep us free and able to do what we want and when we want.

2 parades tomorrow, one in town and the other in Cranbury, NJ, next town north of us.  A tradition, to be sure.

0800 is early so I'm off to bed.  Good night guys!

Jim got and replied to your email.

The rust is a hole in my bumper about the size of a quarter. but (knock on wood) the truck runs great.

Evening all watching a few auctions I'm high bidder on. one is a Type R transformer. figure I could use that to run switches, lights for drawf signals ect. maybe even lights in some buildings. I plan to have 1 maybe 2 drawf signals at each switch so it will operate in-case the engine is coming the other way and no mater where you stand you can see it switch from red to green or green to red. they will be powered off the switch. should be great when I get them done. all plans for the to be layout.

still out side will be like O-72 I think. So I can run just about anything I wish to. won't have to worry about having a track to handle it. the next will be O-63  don't think I will have another as plan for a good size yard and 2 bay engine house. so that will take up a good part of the center of the table.

Not much else going on tonight. Just relaxing hoping my back will start to heal enough to work Tuesday. Still tender in the main spot. but seems to be getting better.

Hope to have a enjoyable day off tomorrow.

Good Mornin' Ya'll From Sunny Taxachusetts,

Time to wash the deck furniture and do a quick grill cleanup for today's bash here.  Grocery store then to pick up a few items.

RT.......a good friend of ours has a early 2000s Ford Explorer, about the same age and mileage as yours, same thing.  Holes in the chromed rear bumper from rust.  Her brother picked up another bumper at a bone yard and swapped them out.  Now hers is looking top notch.  Sure, it takes a few $ to keep up a vehicle with a few miles on it.  But the savings are big, even if a major repair pops up.  I get "attached" to my vehicles like you and many of us do. Thumbs Up BTW........ I think JimmyT is running an automotive orphanage for homeless ProbeGTs. Whistling

Later, gang.

Jack

Surprise Just think what kind of trouble I could get into with more $$ and space.Whistling

Kev,

How bad is the rust?  If the metal is still solid, POR15 is an option to stop the rust from advancing.  I haven't tried it yet, but I've read nothing but good things.  Of course, if you can get rust free panels, that would be best.  A friend of mine has an 01 Dakota Sport in silver, and his is rusting at the wheel wells and bumper.

I am going through the same thing with the 91 Probe, but there are zero 89-92 Probes in the yards around here.  I mostly see a lot of Sunfires, Cavaliers, and 1999+ Grand Ams in the yards here.  Hoping to find my old Sunfire in a yard some day.  Have some "unfinished business".Devil

RT,

Watching NASCAR preshow - and the wife is Soooo Pleased we have an entire day and evening of racing today. HEY! Desparate Housewives is done for the season!

Angel for those in need.

Steaks on the grill tonight!

Bow to the vets!

Have a great evening!

Kevin, there are corrupt doctors like there are corrupt people in all jobs.  We had a guy I work with who's mother endured months of cancer treatments only to find out that she never had it.  This happened in another state, but she came here when things didn't sound right.  Our group ran the tests that proved she was fine.  When they tried to get ahold of her reports from the guy who diagnosed and treated, the report seemed to disappear.  My advice is to get a second opinion from a unrelated specialist that is not of the same group.  If the report and treatment presented are similar, go with whom seems right.  If they are different, find out why.

And that is why they call it the greatest spectacle in racing. WOW great race today. Now NASCAR Yes

Dennis, I know you are correct about corruption in all trades including Doctors. In my case after 6 months of runaround I decided to spend my own dime to heck with the network providers and go to Mayo. I took all of my records from home but they did most of the test all over again and it was the Best thing I ever did. Four days there and I went home a new man with a new understanding of the medical system. The difference is night and day.

I will pray for your friends in need. I know it does work.

Nice kitty BOC.

Good afternoon everyone.  Was a great service this morning.  I even got to sit with my family.....how novel!  We then went to get some paint as I will be painting the kids' rooms for when we come back from China!  Still no word, but should not be much longer.

Fife, in a word Agenda, they have one and will not let facts get in the way.

Doug, great photo, you have a wonderful family!

Well, I have had several bad reports from friends up north this week.  One had an MI, the other is dying of cancer and seems they are getting close.  As what was mentioned in church this morning, if it drives you to prayer with the Father, it is a blessing.

God bless, and have a good week ahead,

Dennis

Jack if it was one of those my cats would be digging like no tomorrow and it wouldn't be just my lower right back. It would be all over and heat irritates it even more and sweating to where it starts to burn. My wife keeps saying I got sunburned thru a black Tshirt i was wearing I comeback with why just my right side and we weren't out side much that day basically from car to building to car again.

Well I'm tired trying to get the guy to make me white decals ( water slide style) we talk a couple of times then all ended don't know what happened. So I'm thinking about getting some rubber stamps for what I need. it will mean ( depends how I go about it one way I think is to wide spacing between numbers ( thats the ones which you can rotate to the number you want.) the other would be a regular rubber stamp. problem thou is finding white ink for the ink pad. (want to renumber my 2 PA-1's and my PB-1's to actual numbers that NYC used. still need to get some stuff to remove current numbers. Every-time I goto Lowe's or Wal-mart I forget just like I need to get some gorilla glue to glue some white metal and hopes it holds.

SJ I saw that post last night after posting in here I even posted to it myself.

Fife the answer is because as a whole the edditors or there boss's feel it makes better news of the tragity with a gun than the good the gun did and maybe somewhere in there organization a head honcho is anti gun.

Morning all went out raked up the magnolia leaves again ( try to get them when there isn't a lot of them) water flowers and trees to make wife happy.

Had fit with neighbor fed up with her and her dogs running loose while she sits on her big behind talking on cell phone instead of just closing her gate or tyeing them up. folks walk down the road here with rocks or sticks in there hand because of them. she was doing good for about a month now she's back to her old ways. End of rant SoapBox

Ran train for a while last night had a temp problem as one some how jumped track slightly but fixed that and allow as fine again. That was at start up. funny it affected only one engine the second engine first wanted to do its thing 3rd and 4th B-units which have tmcc to some point in them did fine  just engine # 2 lol. Oh well at least it was a good warning before anything more troublesome came of it.

Well went back to ER yesterday the doc I saw this time agreed its not what the first thought as he seemed to understand what I was saying. still if I get sweaty my rt side lower back starts to burn. and its still sensitive to the touch may have to follow up with my primary care Dr. and see if maybe I need to goto dermatology  ( wow I spelled that right according to spell check lol)

Well guess thats all my now will talk to you all later

Good morning. It's 73° and cloudy. The high will be 95° and it'll be mostly sunny.

Nothing special planned for today. I cleaned up the layout a bit yesterday but it still needs more.

Hi guys,

Going to be a hot one today on the north bluff. They are talking about high 90s.

Got the property tax bill yesterday and sure it went up AGAIN!!  Super AngryBang Head

The wedding went well yesterday and we picked up our new wills so it was a good trip to Plainfield.  Yes  Man I don’t miss that traffic.

When we got home just before dark the garage door would not open up.  Huh?  Yep, no power and it had been out already for about 1.5 hours. So I got the first chance to try out my manual transfer switch with the generator. Worked nice had the fridge running and the living room lights, TV, Water heater and if I shut down the fridge I could run the well pump. All toll it was out about 4 hours. Smile

Today I thing I am going to stay in the AC and watch the races.

MikeC, I am pulling for AJs team today.

Roy, sounds like too much fun that yard work. Smile, Wink & Grin

RIJack, I talked to a guy yesterday when I was in Plainfield about the rust. It is in about the worst place it can be. The bottoms of the doors and front tips of the front fenders. Will need two left doors and new front fenders. We talked about some other approaches to tide the storm that I may try.  Tongue Tied

RT, hope you get over the back thingy.  Angel

DougM, great picture of the kids. Keep a close eye on them at the party.  Mischief

Blownout Cyl. Prayers for you. You are a brave man. Angel

Brutus, Too much rich food??? Don’t sound like fun. Surprise

Fife, I with you man. Why don’t you hear the good stories of The Armed Citizen.  Dots - Sign

Well I found out how to get the wife out of bed……..tell her the coons knocked over one of her planters. Now I have a mad Bear in the house.  Dunce

Whistling

Fife......I am 100% with you about the home invasions and the gun law.  The media isn't interested in the 99% of those who had to protect themselves.  They only dial in on the 1% anfd then beat it to death.  Nothing in life is perfect.  I'd argue it is 99% better as things are.

Re the media, the memorial trust fund set up for the Greenland NH police chief Michael Maloney......it's one mention and done.  Re the perps involved?.  The guy  had a long record (weapons and drugs, awaiting trials) and his girlfriend was made out like Mother Theresa......until the media was informed she was named on the drug warrants for selling OXYs to undercover police officers,  Then she was positively identified as the one who bought the gun(s) for the guy who used the same on the 5 officers.  His other weapons had been previously confiscated on a previous weapons charge.

What do they print after a couple of weeks of eulogizing her?  Ready to canninize her?  When the truth about her was uncovered?  Just a few lines.  Not much, after volumes of interviews with her family and friends, day after day, about what a wonderful, caring and giving person she was......before the guy murdered her and then took his own life, AFTER the police officers were shot.  Is it politically incorrect to reveal folks for whom they really are?  She certainly didn't deserve what the guy did to her, but burned into folks' minds is the image of a victim, not a person who actively and consciously facilitated the evil intentions of the guy.

If I get permission from our dog trainer who is throwing the fundraiser for the Chief's trust fund, and I get a thumbs up from the Greenland Police Officer with whom we train, I am going to invite the local media to cover the event.  We'll see where that goes.  I'll even bring my camera to "help" the media give this event the coverage it deserves.

Sorry for the continued rant on this subject.  Good people need to stand up and be counted (covered in the media), not the bad people. SoapBox

LAZ........is it too early to start calling you a lazy bum?  Smile, Wink & Grin

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Partly cloudy & 73 already in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Wifey wants big AC in the LR window, so waiting on future-son-in-law to arrive.  Then we are taking grandbaby to da pyuhl.  Until then, laundry, sipping coffee, killing ants (terro), and maybe a little decal work.

Pirate update.  Wifey and I went out on yatchet yesterday.  Perfect conditions, and we were amazed at all the sailboats out there, and equally amazed at how few motorboats.  For the most part, I singlehanded my rig, and docking was super smooth using the southerly breeze to my benefit.  Only "barked" at the Admiral once (what is it about "keep straight" the ladyfolk don't get?).  Very nice dinner at Dock-of-the-Bay, as we watched a young man fall over the stern of an incoming cutty-cruiser.  He got back up ok.Whistling

As to gun-laws, why does the MEDIA only report "unfortunate" incidents, when there are hundreds of home-defense shootings that only make the back page....hmmmmmmmmmm.... Anybody?

My apologies to all.  I am trying to catch up on my POT reading, oldest first.

Spent 7 hours today doing yardwork out in the broiling sun and I am cashed.  Why so much yardwork?  I was informed by the powers that be that we are having a houseful/yardful (22 and rising) over tomorrow for a cookout.  Can't let the guests see how we really live. Whistling   Took a couple of pre-emptive ibuprofen.  Drank a lot of water while I was working but nothing was coming out the other end......so I have been drinking more over the past few hours, which will probably have me up in the middle of the night.  Bang Head

BlownOut......  Angel for success with this coming week's treatments.  You said you have been down a similar path in the past, and we are all pulling for similar success this time around.

RaySP and SJ......think of these procedures as routine maintenance on a classic, extremely valuable, and rare vehicle.   Both of you are rare. Whistling  Ray.....at least you finally have a diagnosis.  SJ......one down and one to go?  Hang in there.   Angel for both of you.

DougM.......congratulations on your middle boy's milestone. BowThumbs Up  We fuss, we fret, and we worry.  Yet somehow the kiddies manage to land on their feet and keep moving forward.  BTW......how's the "Just For Men" working out for you? Whistling

Jeffrey.....do you have a cast iron stomach? Smile, Wink & Grin

RT.....you are lucky with the "ointment" that your malady wasn't someplace where the sun doesn't shine. Whistling  I'll bet there was some liniment in the stuff.  Our athletic trainers in my sports days used to use a mixture of human liniment (appropritely called Atomic Bomb) and a horse liniment.  Boy, was it hot, but it loosened up sore muscles effectively.  Surprise

MikeC......I wonder if my wife will notice me MIA at my own BBQ tomorrow while the Indy 500 is running. Whistling  She always schedules these get togethers when she knows full well how important Indy is......and you would think she would have a greater appreciation because I took her to the 500 in 1983.  Maybe she forgot how thrilling it was.

And to close.......the Boston Celtics brought it down the stretch to score 30 in the fourth quarter and put away the 76ers 85-75 in game 7 of the Eastern Conference semis.  Old, banged up, playing hurt, a no-name bench, but still able to pull them out when they have to. Thumbs Up

And the Red Sox beat Tampa Bay tonight 3-2 on a ninth inning walk off home run.  Beckett had his 3rd straight solid start.  Guess he didn't like getting his skin pealed off horly by the caustic Boston sports media and the rabid fans who had their torches and pitchforks at the ready not so long ago.

Later, gang!!!!!!  A coma awaits me.  I am whipped!
