Prayers for treatments, healing and good health.

Dad is doing well and Char has a narrow sinus passage so they will do a small procedure in about 10 days and roto-rooter that sucker out.  She literally can't wait to be done with that.

Not much got done today - last day of my mini-vacation.  I just goofed off mostly.  I did finally make the connections and rearrange where all the network stuff was in the house.  Router and Modem are now on the entertainment center and my son has his own hub for all his game systems and stuff.

Nice chat tonight with the guys - talking about switches from different companies.  TARDIS is ready guys - let's go!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Rich not sure if its my system or what the only way I'm able to goto your links is to copy and paste if I click I get a stupid era message saying either the site is down or off line lol

Not much happening here today. Took some stuff to the auction house up the road as needed to get it out of here. lol

Still have some other things need to get rid of but doing so is a fight normally. wife just wants to hang on to things we never use or will. Like I have a propane fireplace I got when I worked for the propane company in Va. It was nice but to run the copper tubing and to do all that is involved and the cost of propane ( the rest of the house is natural gas) and this can't be converted it states its for propane use only. so it sits in a bedroom behind a bunch of junk lol.Oh well I'll get it out of here soon. I finally convinced her that it needs to go just like a lot of other stuff.

prayers for all that needs them. sorry to here about O.J. Ed I remember talking to him often when I was going to the other forum on model railroader side Elliott's café. lot of the ones that I use to talk to over there aren't on there any more. I wonder form time to time how there doing. i keep in touch with one thats in FL and have contact info on 2 others up in Mich I think either there or Oh who remembers lol anyway prayers for all in need. side starting to hurt again so need to take it easy talk to you all later.

Good evening all! Starting to cool down a bit from the past few days, can't wait for the summer temps Crying

Had a nice time after work tonight as I stopped by my favorite ICE CREAM store and had some LEMON ICE CREAM! Real tasty.

Tomorrow or Friday I'll be stopping by at my LHW as an order is due to arrive Wink

SJ - Good luck tomorrow. If you want either HudsonJohn or I can send you some Lemon Ice Cream in a Dry Ice container, (just let John know). Nice to see you have your font size under control.

Rich - Years ago HudsonJohn's and my families went on a day trip to Allaire. Nice train ride. It's also a nice place to camp for a weekend as we've done that a few times also.

Later,

Happy Hump Day!!!

I didn't realize I had the day off.....tried to sleep in, but had a fire call at 10 AM....

Weekend went fairly well

A little more info on my trip: Saturday left the house at 0500 for my trek to Mt. Pocono, PA via Sportster.  Weather was wonderful.  Went through the railroad towns of Raritan, NJ, Phillipsburgh, NJ and Easton, PA.  Easton at about 0730 looks like a wonder town to rail fan.  I'm going to get back there and its sister town Phillipsburgh soon. Many CNJ signs on the way up.  This area is really steeped in Jersey railroading.

Had a cook out with a friend Sunday at Allaire State Park, Home of the Pine Creek Railroad.  They were using a little Plymouth engine to haul a closed coach, an open couch and a CNJ caboose.  I could only observe, as I was chief cook and entertainer.  Had grilled Italian sausage sandwiches.  Afterwards we went to see Chernobyl Dairies.....(don't bother....really, just don't....)

Monday's parades were grueling, temps in the 90's. Princess did a ride along on the second parade and was hit on by one of the young guys.  She's not interested.....LaughLaugh.

Monday night/Tuesday morning responded to a fully involved house fire...I was the ladder pipe guy....on the ladder during the major blaze portion.....master streams only, our truck put out the bulk of the fire....

http://eastwindsor.patch.com/articles/blaze-destroys-east-windsor-house?ncid=newsltuspatc00000001#photo-10099809

Tuesday was a tough one as well, cleaning cars in 90+ weather in dress clothes....I must of lost 10 pounds...

Got an interesting article today.....seems that Chrysler was involved in railroading.  You guys into the New York Central should be really interested in this: .

http://www.allpar.com/corporate/railroads.html

Nicer and cooler today into the 80's. Spent the day with the Princess, she bought some clothes and such for her trip on Saturday.  I'm gonna miss her for a month....Sigh

Angel - RT, Jeff, Ed M, BoC....any one that I've missed and all of our serving and retired service people.

Be back as soon as I can get on!!

Oh chief you are so right. I got buds on mine though..LOL

It was cooler today, breezy and low 70s. I took a lazy day and didn't do much. I'm a little antsy about tomorrows skin cancer surgery since it's between my lip and chin. By this time tomorrow I will know how much cutting he did..I had my banilla but saved some for the thingy crew..S.J.

Good Evening..

All appointments out of the way..tomorrow will be getting groceries and such into the house....at least with my doctor I can still drive myself to the treatments...such as that is.

I also had a bit of time tonight to run some trains..and no incidents or accidents....

Angel for Ed's family....

Stourbridge, condolences for your friend.  R.I.P.

Chuck, looks like a light house or maybe a water tank with windows.  Probably have a nice view from up there.

Quiet day here and getting warm this afternoon.  Ran trains this morning before it got hot.  One of my DCS equiped GP9 engines has been losing power on dirty track I thought but I cleaned the pick up rollers and finally cleaned the wheels to make good ground.  That did the trick.  Cleaning rollers alone was not enough.  I have run out of parking places for trains on the layout.  Now I am running two trains one following the other on one track and a third on the other side of double track..  No room to expand except to double deck or start boxing up stuff.

Prayers for all the walking wounded on here today.  Angel

Had a long talk with one of my Thursday night buddies on the phone.  Reminised about good times from the past.  He told me about Bass Pro Shops and all the stuff they have.  We have one a few miles from us but I have never seen it.  Need to check it out.

Starting to get fishing fever again if I allow myself to do it.  Might go when I feel better.

later,

Ray

Well this is the last time on my layout for this old veteran. It's decoder and the decoder of it's mate #505B have been reset to factory default and will be carefully removed. The locos will be packed away in a box and put in the closet.

Morning all.  Raining.  Storm going by the coast.  We can use the rain here.  Down east where the farm is, has had over their share of rain this year.

Sprayed pond from boat yesterday.  Put in plastic tree.  Did not do a lot yesterday afternoon.  Was hot and humid.

Being lazy this AM.  Dogs and cat sleeping.  Wifey watching TV.

Think I may paint the back wall of the shop area of the Box.  My Box helper had to go to Charlotte as his Wifey was off from work and told him she wanted to go there.  Changed our plans. Crying

Prayers for Blown.

Kev, if I were you, I'd refrain from projects. Whistling

Probe, great to have a JD. [nothing runs like a Deere] Big Smile

Roy, Buckeye got so many Birthday presents he has been busy playing with them.  No time for us. Tongue Tied

Jack, maybe we can turn this storm a little more North and give you some of this rain.  [love to share with my Yankee buddy Wink ]

RT is well, posting reply answers to himself.  Laugh

Jeffrey, keep up the good photos. Yes

Left Coast guys, Demay is over there sending you Japanese tash.  Washing up everywhere. Huh?

LAZ, whats the word? Yes Cool

Godspeed Ed Murphy. RIP.

Good morning. It's 79° and partly cloudy. The high will be 92°.

I've decided to retire my SDP40F's or FP45's or whatever the heck they are. They're too big for my layout. Today I'll be removing the decoders from them. They can be better used elsewhere. I have no other plans for today.

Just saw some news that we lost Ed Murphy (Ed's OJ) in the last few days.  Even though I never got the chance to do some Railfanning with Ed down in Mexico I considered him a friend and will be missed.  My thoughts to Fran and family.

Aloha Paradise. Wow, I want to live there, Chuck!  Much cooler but sunny. Bit of a sad day yesterday; one buddy got unexpectedly laid-off, another got evicted, and my wife's beloved 15 year old cat was diagnosed w. cancer. Went over to commiserate with the first, and will help the other move tonight. 8n, that's decent mileage for a loaded mini-van.

Morning all didn't sleep great woke up a couple of times but figure thats from all the sleep I got the other night. slept about 3 hrs woke up went back to sleep about another 2 then another 1 1/2 so close to what I like anyway. Meds make me tired so probably end up going back to bed after meds at 8. Did get my appetite back last night about 7 or 8 which is good. Boy did it come back but watched what all I ate. so I didn't over eat.

Nothing really planned for today. Maybe my drawf signal lights will come in that would be great as anxious to see them and compare them to my switches for size.

A lot of planning going thru my head as to touches I would like to do to the layout but not exactly sure how it will be done completely.

I do realize that what I need to do so I have access to do the detailing I honestly have to build like 2' wide at a time so I can do it with out having to come back and craw over things I don't really want to. ( mainly with my weight I don't want to be crawling on the pink Styrofoam insulating board afraid I will put dents in it) I have a lot to learn. But it will all come in time. I'm sometimes think I'm wanting to do more than I can so need to slow my self down. But thats normal I'm sure with all of us at times.

Well time to go catch the dinning car and see what theres for breakfast on it today. Talk to you all later.

Today I have another appointment for my ICD to contend with then i have an appointment with the oncologist...oh joy, oh bliss...Whistling

We had a bit of a puzzler in our morning paper today...why would someone go into a schoolyard to take a kindergarten class's tree planting project rootballs and all? All of them...poof gone.  Nice little lesson for the little one's to have innit?

And I am not going to mention the foot that was mailed to the PC office in Ottawa....Whistling

Anyways, better be off and getting ready to do this...

Have a great day!!

Another sunny warm one today - low 90's.  We really need some rain, the grass is looking like it usually does in August.

Played catch up at work today from being off last week.  Didn't get much done, because I was in meetings for most of the day.

RI52 - the minivan gest somewhere around 25mpg at highway crusing speeds.  Wind direction can change that by a few mpg either way, depending on if it is a head wind or a tail wind.  I left all three rows of seats in it for this trip - that limited the available cargo space Smile, Wink & Grin.

Picked up my SD 40-2 from the LHS today.  It is in the green with yellow stripe MKT livery.  Nice detail, all the Legacy goodies, great sound package, good smoker, and seems to be a nice runner, based on the short test run I did with it tonight.  I really like the engine start up sequence.  The brake sounds are cool too.  About the only thing I don't like about it is the non-removeable grate on the exhaust stack that makes it difficult to add smoke fluid without making a mess.

All for now.
