Good Evnin' Y'all From Clear and Seasonal Taxachusetts,
Grammy Pammy and Grampy Jack's place was chosen by secret ballot to be the host venue for the Super Bowl on Sunday. Grammy and Grampy knew nothing about the vote. That means housecleaning. My recovering buddy Frank plans to join us but is worried that my daughter's chili may have too much sodium in it. I assure him it would be sodium free. Will have to figure out an alternate meal plan for him. Where are the grits when you need them?
I hope this hour leaves KEV and Jeffrey with some easing of their foot issues, and DougM able to run some trains following his eye procedure.
RaySP......hope your buddy has come through the surgery OK.
Chief....you had better be laying low or your wifey will have to duck tape you to your recliner. Check that thought. She would never do that because she needs you to tend to the dogs at last call.
Darren.......been following the Colorado snowstorm while I look at my brown lawn, knowing this is one of the most snow free Winters on record here; hope your snowblower is doing the job and that the beer inventory satisfactory for you to weather the storm.
David/Train Master......don't be a stranger! No anti-HO bias here. Jeffrey sees to that.
Dennis......you are outside posting to the POT? Guess that makes sense. Then your wife only has to go to the back door and yell once to get all of the "kids" inside.
8N......I realize being a part of the acquired company can be stressful. Sounds like you are weathering the storm. Hang in there.
JoeyD........I thought you moved to Japan, not the North Pole.
Time to turn in!!!!!!!! Letterman is on TV and must be high. He thinks that the Giants may win.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Konnichiwa,
So far it has been a great Saturday. The youngest and I woke up first and enjoyed some breakfast (Raisin Bran) together. I had a second breakfast once the wife woke up and decided to make some eggs and bacon. We enjoyed some coffee together and watched a couple episodes of Rick Steves’ Europe. I knocked out some minor touch-up painting that needed to be done and helped start some laundry. I will need to spend some time this afternoon finishing some schoolwork.
Dennis - My Yankee blood loves the cold temperatures. I am out there running on my own initiative and would be if it was 20 below zero. I have the appropriate cold weather running attire which keeps me safe.
Doug - I hope everything goes well with your eyes. I suppose listening to the game would be fun too.
Jack - If I can only get Chuck to aim the snow cannon out here I'd feel like I'm in the Northeast for the Super Bowl which the Giants will win.
Sayonara,
Joe
Good night all. Crashed in the recliner and Wifey on couch. Now to take Finn out [he alwaus has to go]. Lazy day. Worked at Town Hall and then went to Hunters Haven. Thompson Center Venture came back from recall. Mounted new matching camo Nikon BDC Coyote Special scope on it.
Sleep tight.

Top of the morning to you all. Big bowl of grits this AM. Been waiting to say this. Arteries clean and open. Why? GRITS. Cream of wheat clogs them up.
Off to Miss Edna's for hot dogs and then back to go to movie with Wifey. Rain [not snow] to move in.
Have a good one.
Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 36 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Going to the Scale Train show in a while. Just lookin'...
rt - Thank you.
Chief - Didn't know you were going for heart issues...
Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a cloudy 38 degrees. Going up to 42 today with rain and snow flurries due later.
Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of chores to do and the wife will be calling me about the house she is looking at. Looks pretty good for us. I might get a nap later.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
Good morning. It's 68° with heavy clouds and thunder. The high will be 72°. There's an 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms. Here it is 7:25 am and it's still pitch black dark. We're under a flash flood watch for what looks like a good part of central Louisiana. The lake is back up to it's normal level and probably a little above by now. I'm glad my home is on a hill top about thirty four feet above lake level. The highest the water has ever come up was twelve feet. It couldn't go any higher as the water was pouring over the top of the dam. For some reason the flood gates wouldn't open. Jammed up with logs I think.Well, already this morning I've added weight to all seven of the KO&G boxcars. It took a piece of sheet lead the length and width of the car to raise the weight to 3.9 - 4.2 ounces. The dry ice reefer is next.

Joe, I always watched Rick Steves' Europe but there doesn't seem to be any new ones and the old are getting older. Granny's going to try bowling with her new knee tonight, I tried talking her out of it but shes gonna try anyway. Enjoy your Saturday...S.J.

Hi GUYZ,
Cold start here today at24. My MINNIE DOG musta picked up and ate something had the diariha for the second day now. Took her to vet and he gave her, her shots for the year and pills for the diariha. Hope it works? Me and WIFE were up every hour on the hour last nite. No Fun.
SOURBRIDGE, gonna build some snow forts? CHUCK shot the SNO CANNON in the wrong direction,
Only ran trains for an hour last nite. Had a minor uncoupling but caught it in time so NO PILE UPs.
Stay frosty,

Good morning everyone. Getting ready to jump into the taxes. It is sunny out and heading to themid 70's. Joe, there was a time I could do the cold, but I don't do it by choice. Now about the Giants, they have been my team since being brainwashed by my dad at a early age! I don't watch sports for the most part, but may make an effort after church tomorrow.
I am planning on doing a little with some card stock buildings for the background of the layout. Hope to do a little gluing and if time permits after taxes, to actually get them mounted as the backdrop.
Take care,
Dennis

Morning guys, cloudy and high 30s with very light rain. Guess most of that rain is going to skid south of us and head for Buckeye and Chuck. Maybe it will turn to snow or ice for them. Not much going on today, got to get groceries and pay the last bill of the month. Sandra and I ran trains and talked late into the night and we managed to not have any problems pop up in the voodoo train room. But then I was running the post-war 681 turbine and the 218 ALCO F2 so what could go wrong? Fife, thanks for the offer! Come on over and see what you can do. I would blame the Chief for putting a Rebel hex on my train room but I was having these problems before he sent the Grits filled package. Later guys, Kev.

DJSpanky Hey Pat, did you notice that that Train Town store over by the old Whole Foods location closed down? It didn't make it a year. I'm not surprised, as their prices were about 10% above MSRP. I only stopped in there twice - once to check them out when they opened, and once early last summer looking for kites. They had a decent selection of trains, and I'm all for supporting a LHS, but c'mon, 10% above list? I don't think so! Hope to be on here more often now and catch up with everyone. Later!

Welcome back Spank!
I never did get to visit Train Town. I am not surprised they closed, though. 10% above MSRP? In this down economy?

Ohayō,
It's 0100 Sunday morning right now. I am finishing some schoolwork and thought I would write a quick post. We had a very nice Saturday and didn't do much after finishing our chores besides going out for a quick dinner.
SJ - We bought the complete series on DVD a few years ago and re-watch some of them every now and then. He has new updated shows and the wife just ordered an updated version from the PBS website.
Jack - Sorry, no typo. Although the Giants are not my team, I will always root against any team from Massachusetts.
Good Morning CTTFans!
Finally got shoveled out this morning. It's still slightly snowing and the yardstick shows 19" here at home. A few of our foothill cities are reporting in at 4ft! Should see some melting over the next few days but they say another storm should arrive on Tuesday...
Hamburger and a Diet please and a serious side of fries too...

Good morning all, it's a little after 9:00 here. Don't have any word yet on my friend's heart surgery but assume that it went well. No news is good news. Will try to confirm later today. His wife was with him at the hospital but don't want to bother her with phone calls yet.
Regarding the Super Bowl, I'm not a pro football fan either but I took advantage of some of the food offerings at our local super market yesterday. Picked up some baby back ribs, Green Giant frozen corn on the cob, baked beans and potato salad. We ate half of the ribs last night but will warm up the other package later. It was all very good.
Chief, I don't eat cream of wheat but do eat cream of rice sometimes in place of grits. Maybe the grits had more abrasive action to keep your pipes clean in your heart. The gastrointerologist put me on cream of rice one time when I was getting over an ulcer but grits probably wouldn't hurt you either.
Buckeye, where is the snohio? Looks like Colorado beat you to the punch.
Have a good weekend,
Ray

Aloha . Well, the first eye zapping went well. I have a cool zombie-looking eye for a few weeks. Nice to see the sun today. That CP derailment looks pretty nasty Kev. SJ and Joe, we took a Rick Steves tour in Rome for our 20th anniversary. It was great. He runs a class outfit. He's currently on tour, speaking in small towns across the US. You're making me hungry, Ray! Spank, thought of you with all the Rutgers news/ David, smaller scalers are welcome! That reminds me, you're doing a great job weighting those new cars, Jeffrey. That was definitely a requirement when I was in N.

Do you mean to tell me they still play the Super Bowl without the Packers being in it?

Is anyone having trouble getting on the OGR Forum? I have the new address but can't get on today.
We just did a good inventory under shelter. New men's 26 inch bike is gone. Also, 25 gallon John Deere pull behind sprayer. Right now, can't find anything else missing. Now the finger points to the "Jones Boys" above the pond. Chief of PD is going to talk to their Dad. If he has seen any of this, he will tell. Never volunteers but when asked, tells. If it is them, they may become turtle food at the bottom of the pond. No, but when they go before a Judge, a Mayor will be there asking for habitual criminal status. That means long sentences.
Lets go to a movie.
