Howdy guys - pretty chilly in Saint Louis today. I put a gauge on the water to see how much pressure we have. With the hot water running for just a few seconds the pressure went from like 100 psi down to about 60. After that, I ran the water and dialed up the pressure on the house to 60. I reset the "high pressure marker" arm down even with the current pressure and we'll see how much it bounced up for the high pressure in 24 hours. I'm not sure that putting the gauge on and then opening the valve on the discharge didn't give a false reading, as it's hard to believe that there would be that much pressure. My guess is that I'll be adding an expansion tank, but that's a small job.
Checking out micro-layouts - think I might build one just to have something better than a circle of 027 to play with.
Had no luck at all with that spray insulation - just glopped up and dropped down to the bottom of the gap I was trying to fill. Must have got a bad batch or something?
Nice chat with RT today and tonight. SJ - tell Granny that we are still praying for her. TARDIS is ready, so let's go get some banilla, I know where he keeps the key to the locker
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evenin' All.
Great day here, if you're a snail or a slug.
No museum yesterday, spent the time with the munckin. They grow to dang quick.
Have any of you guys watched any of the Vietnam films on the History Channel this past week. I haven't been able to bring myself to see them, to many unresolved issues for me.
Work continues on tearing down the halloween layout, the easy part is done now is the pain in the butt part of repacking all the Lemax stuff.
Nite all.

Doug - I know a couple Vietnam vets who have watched and recommended the shows, but I haven't watched it.
PS - Chewy is doing well. She is eating and drinking, and she's not fighting us too much on all these pills
PPS - V8 (edit, sorry SPMan, lol) - gargraves makes little blades for just this purpose. Cut out the switch and remove the pins. Insert blade and then you just push the new switch or piece of track down over the blades and it locks in place just like with pins. #910-4 Fit-Up Connectors.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is 40 degrees and cloudy. Going up to 60 today with some sunshine.
Today is a lazy day. Nascar race this afternoon from Phoenix. I hope # 14..... Tony, wins. He has been trying hard.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.

We watched the entire series on Nam, painful at times but it answered a few of the questions I had about the nuts and bolts of the whole mess. I pray that we never have another decade like the 60's, horrible.

So many roads, so little time.
Good Morning
55 and cloudy, 60 today.
I had a good time at our club meet. 17 in attendance last night. It's good the club is growing but some of us don't have room for many more than that. Granny's at church and I'm getting hungry. Ok where's the toaster..S.J.

Good morning. It's 65° and mostly cloudy. The high will be 78° and it will be partly cloudy later today. The wind is from the SSE at 8 mph.Nothing much planned for today. I may get a start on ballasting the new turnout and adjoining straight track sometime during the day. I have to dig the jar of ballast out of the closet first and that can sometimes be like an archaeological expedition. The deeper I dig the more 'lost' things I find. One day I even found my army discharge papers and my high school diploma. Two Atlas 70's era GP40's with Bachmann GP40 shells.
CHIEF,
BIG CONGA on the nice buck you got. Hope I get one this year?

Hi GUYZ,
Very nice day here this morning. Went for Pheasants yesterday. My MINNIE DOG put up 3 birds! Problem was she was putting them up too far ahead of us at 50 yards. I shot anyway just to see if she had a reaction to the shotgun. No problems with the gun fire but she just has too much energy. She worked real good in the up corn going back and forth between the both of us but when she sees something its lets chase it. Oh well maybe next weekend?
Had a nice fire with burgers and sausage last nite all good here.
DOUG M, GO BEARs!!!!
stay frosty,
Chief, congratulations on getting your deer this time. Looks like you are in for some venison meals in the near future.
Still trying to get back to normal after my quick excursion to the East Coast. I need to get active. I have been sitting around too much trying to baby my back. Too much of that is not good. Called a few friends since I got back but that's about all.
Cal Stewart Train meet is next weekend. I will not be working the display layout this time so I might just go over on Sunday. I don't really need much and should be selling instead of buying.
We are getting a visit next weekend also from Union Pacific steam engine number 844 here in Southern California. It wil be on display on the 18th I think and will run over Cajon Pass on the way out of town on the 19th. Might try to go see it. Wouldn't cross the street to see a diesel though.
Looking forward to church today since we were on the road last Sunday.
Have a good day all,
Ray

Lots of wind but warm in the mid to high 60s. I will take it.
Had a great time last few days with my old pal from Denton TX . Good to see old friends.
Had the 14-month-old granddaughter over yesterday evening and built a large pile of leaves for her to play in, lots of fun. Then into the basement to run the trains. She loves the bell and whistle buttons. We all had carry out Chinese for dinner.
I think the leaves have all fallen for the most part with this wind. I don’t have enough to sweep so I glad that that is over for the year.
Chief: Congrats on the buck.
Jon, I watched the Nam series too. I got to give it to those guys for their service in such a hostile place. I am glad I had a good lottery number back then. Most of the guys I know that went have scars be it physical or mental. God bless them!!!
SJ: Sounds like your mom loves you a lot. Good job!
LAZ: Your MINNIE DOG sounds like she will get there. Is she still young? Maybe she will calm down with age and more field experience.
Chuck: I am with you Go SMOKE!!!!!!!
Later,
Kev.

Afternoon all. Rode down east with Fred to look for a doe he thought he shot at dark. No blood. Helped him reposition his stand on the tree and clear more bushes and trees for him to shoot. Just got back. Stiff and tired. Cloudy and windy.
Later.

Well I hunted through the closet and gathered together everything I'll need for the ballasting of the turnout and the straight track it connects to. Now I just need the energy to do it. For anyone else it would be no problem to ballast a twenty inch long section of track. my problem is getting under the layout, removing the drop-out section then coming to a standing position on one leg and that leg has a tricky knee. Hopefully I won't end up wrecking something or getting hurt in the process. I try to keep details, structures and such close to the access hole to a minimum. However there are three bill boards, a fence, a couple of small buildings and a water tower nearby. The buildings are old and not worth much but the bill boards are a different matter. Those were a special gift and I would like to have them around as long as possible. They're incorporated into the scenery and would be difficult to move. So here's hoping I don't end up flattening them.
Aloha from a blustery Crystal Lake. Miss me? I was at Disney since Tues night at a conference. Kelly and the boys came along and did the parks while I went to sessions. I did join them yesterday for the Animal park and Thur. night for dinner at Epcot. .... a nice and expensive place. My favorite was riding the 'steam train' in darkest Africa. Got home in time to run over help the father in law move a few heavy things. Now Kelly leaves immediately on a retreat and I'm home two days with the boys. Hope Chewy continues to heal. Glad Granny Pat is well too. A belated happy Veterans Day to those of you who served! Laz: Bears!

I got the ballasting done and I'm aching in several separate and very distinct places. Now I need to let the glue dry. Sometime tomorrow I'll go back in and clean those two track sections then GLEAM them then I'll be done with it. Oh yeah, I didn't smash, damage or knock over anything. I did however hit my head on a beam but not hard enough to do anything other than get my full undivided attention.
Nice sunny day today, but a little cooler than I expected.
Stuffed peppers in the oven for dinner, I would have preferred Fried Chicken but SWMBO dropped some hints yesterday and friday.
Wow, what's with da Bears !!!!!!
Discovered something kinda funky with my ceiling track in the trainroom. In tearing down the halloween layout I added a CW-80 to the ceiling track so I can run the "modern" conventional engines w/o having to use a bell/whistle button with a postwar TW transformer that is also connected to the ceiling track. When the CW is connected to the track, even if not powered up, and the TW is powered up to use a DCS Remote commander it don't work. If I disconnect the CW from the track the Remote Commander works fine. I know CW's don't work with some Proto-1 and no Proto-2 but just hooked to the track and not powered-up. Any ideas
Gotta go check on dinner, check in later.
Evening all!
DougnottaG - CW-80 chopped since wave controllers do not play well with DCS. Even with no load the CW-80 leaks a large signal to the track that could interfere with the DCS signal.
Jeffrey - glad the ballasting went OK with no mishaps.
LAZ - Minnie is actually working for the pheasants. Bears who?
DougM - Disney - conference - REALLY? REALLY?
Ray - it is worth the trip to see the 844. Very impressive. The last time it was here in Denison TX they tried to keep everyone back as it was in the rear of a small railyard and they finally gave up, ceased normal operations, and let everyone get up close. Everyone was surprisingly respectful of those taking photos and would quickly step back after getting their pic taken in front of the loco.
Chief - big conga on the buck.
Brutus - glad Chewey is better!
Had a pleasent afternoon working with friends on the Ronald McDonald House holiday layout "Trains at Northpark" display. Had some rewiring to do as a result of some minor adjustments made in the layout. Had to work on my back with the soldering iron and an air powered stapler. Neck did OK.
Grilled steaks tonight - came out excellent
79 degrees tonight and humid. Same tomorrow.
Have a great evening all!
Regards, Roy
Good evening
63 and clear tonight.
Well the Bears ate the Lions today. Wow the Lions looked bad. I stayed in today, missed the little TTOS show but had a show last Sunday and the club meet last night so I am trained for awhile. Finished CTT, now got OGR and TCA to do.Banilla is ready for the thingy crew, lets go...S.J.
The glue on the turnout has dried enough that I was able to vacuum up the loose ballast. In the photo the ballast looks uneven but in actuality the embankment is somewhat steep and the ground near the track is rough and rises up here and there. Sometime tomorrow I'll get back in there IF my back isn't hurting too badly and clean the track the GLEAM it.Well my back is hurting bad right between the shoulder blades so I'm going to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Good evening all
Warm and windy in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s. Mulched leaves today. Had good day yesterday. Got an old wooden train set that matched what I had when I was a kid. Got some more figures for the standard gauge at Train Express and picked up the Showroom layout book at Barnes and Noble. It was a good day. Saw Tower Heist Friday night with wife. Had waffles and bacon for breakfast. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Howdy guys - it was a nice warm day in Saint Louis today. Welcome back, Doug! That looks really neat Picked up some stuff at Best Buy today and got a late birthday gift from my son. Also, we picked up an expansion tank for the plumbing and some fittings. I'll try one of those sharkbite T fittings and see how I like it. Chewy is doing pretty well - a lot more energy today. We're considering removing the cone, because she's not been messing around with the incisions. But - is that because of the cone? Think, think, think....
TARDIS is ready, so let's get going guys - SJ is here with banilla
Morning all not a lot going on this morning, need to goto post office and FedEx today to ship a few items and find a box for some track as I have to ship six 36" length of standard gauge track pieces. Might as well look for 2 as I have another 6 listed on ebay to sell. Well about time to stop the dinning car and get some breakfast.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

It is 62 degrees. Just started to lightly rain. Going up to 68 today with more rain coming.
Today is a busy day. Grocery shopping for the wife and a few chores for me. I have some paperwork to do and a few phone calls to make. Then, I can relax.
Dining car is here with the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Hello all,
Quick cup this AM.
Didn't catch up on the weekend yet. Skipped work on Friday and I'm three days behind. Decided to skip the Greenberg show in Monroeville. Wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather to do some yard work.
Son got his soybean combined. Harvest was lower than hoped. He said he will be lucky to break even on planting costs.
Farming for us is a hobby that hopefully breaks even on cost.
SS fund calls . I'll catch up on the weekend later.
Prayers for those in need

Good morning. It's 64° with some clouds and fog. The high will be 79° and it will be mostly cloudy. There's a 10% chance of rain.Sometime today I'll be cleaning the newly installed and ballasted pieces of track on the east side of the layout. Afterward I'll GLEAM them and that area will be done. Other than that all that needs to be done is packing out the trash.
Aloha. Working at home for the next two days. Chewey seems on the mend. Boy, the Bears really walloped the Lions but Stafford's finger was broken, Bet that had something to do with the four INTs. Did 3 loads of laundry and general clean up. Now schooling with the boy; library later. Wasn't that fake engine at Disney something?
Good morning
50 and cloudy now. 60 today.
It must be nice weather somewhere as this forum, not just the pot has had few hits over the weekend. Maybe cold weather will liven things up some. Granny fixed a big breakfast so I will be skipping lunch. Oh what did I have ? eggs, hash browns, 2 bacon, 1 toast. And Monday it is so it all starts over again..S.J.
Good morning all. Trying to catch up on some paperwork before heading out. One case this morning and then I go home to work on the honey do list. I am planning on getting the trains running with legacy today. Have to be quick as I will be picking up the kids after school. We have to do some extended violin practice in preparation for the recital next month.
Chief, look forward to some photos of your buck when you can. I will be trying to take Ricky out to shoot either a 7mm08, 223, or 22-250 to take his first deer. We shall see. Right now, he doesn't want to kill an animal, because he won't eat venison, but if he changes his mind, I want him to be prepared. If he doesn't, I will just bring a camera and "shoot" any animal so he enjoys the great outdoors.
Gotta run, God bless
Dennis

Good morning all,
Went to church yesterday and got chewed out by close friend for not inviting him and his wife out to dinner whenever we go. He usually calls us because his wife is handicapped and the schedule has to be left up to her. Also, one of our son's eats out with us most of the time when we go and he gets home from work late. Our friends wife likes to go early. On top of that, I was out of town last week but my friend did not know it. He asked me if we did not like them anymore? I will chalk the whole thing up to my friend being under stress from caregiving for his wife which he has done now for a long long time. The whole thing bothered me because I don't have a mean bone in my body and don't like being accused this way. From now on, I will call them every time we go out wheather they can go or not. Sorry for the rant.
Dennis, I don't think I would shoot a deer either unless I planned on eating it.
Chief, ditto on picture of your buck.
Back still bothering me. Went to bed early last night and slept for about 9 hours. Very unusual for me.
Got another invitation to run trains at Cal Stewart without being part of set up crew but still don't know if I can. Might just go down on Sunday for a little while.
V8, I will try to find you if I'm there on Sunday. Check with guys at carpet central floor layout. I may be there or they might know what I am wearing if you look for me.
Have a good week y'all,
