Wow the Lions came from behind to win. It wouldn't be news if it were any other team. First time since 1980, 4 wins in a row.
EDIT: And the Tigers just won. OK banilla and root beer for all, belly up to the bar. We had sun today but it stayed in the 50s. I will wait for the thingy to swing by..S.J.

Good evening everyone. We had a great church service this morning, followed by lunch with friends. Quick run to the store and then we went to see the movie. The place was packed out and we had to sit three rows back from the very front. I guess it is a good problem. You could hear all the laughter, tears, etc., through the theater. Afterwards, my son's teacher came to thank us for the tickets and for the effort in bringing the movie together. Felt good, but it is really God that gets the glory.
Chief, hope the bride and GF had a great time. They seem to get along very well! You are blessed for sure.
Fife, watch out for belly dancers with swords...they probably know how to use them! I have only seen one belly dancer and that was in north Africa back in the early 80's. My wife may not like me to go see another...
RT, stay off the roof, or at least know your limits. One of the guys I am on rotation with for the cameras at church fell off his roof while trying to get the pine straw off. Crushed a few vertebrae. Even though I used to be a firefighter many moons ago, I know our roof pitch is too steep and I leave it to the guys who are used to it....and are bonded.
Well, I have to bring the kiddos to school in the morning and head in. At least I am not on call after 0700. I have to bring one of the cars in for brakes. Also have to take son to get his braces adjusted. My wife has to take a class for the hospital. Something about crisis intervention.
Does anyone know how to get chocolate milk out of a persian rug? Daughter had a minor mishap tonight....ugghhhh!
God Bless,Dennis

Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s. Once after a rainy cold day with traffic snarls and another Team Red win at Indy, I told my kids there will be a day when Traffic is no problem, the weather is warm, and the "good guys" win. Today.....after many, many, too many years, it finally happened,
"Special Ed" Carpenter, the last sprint and Silver Crown driver left in Indy Car racing, driving for new mom, Sarah Fisher, and SFR, WON at Kentucky Speedway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was much rejoicing at the track today. Manly tears flowed freely as I told my wife that I think my dad was pushing Ed across the line ahead of Mr. Ashley Judd. The last 25 laps were side by side racing at its finest. On the shuttle back to the parking lot, there was a guy who said he was a NASCAR, but he had never seen a race better than that one. There is no voice left in me, and the ride home from the race was one of the best I have had in a long, long, long time. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
765 was looking good on Saturday.

About to fall asleep, lol! My friend and I got that hot water heater swapped out and it's working, although now my family says the water is too hot! While the old one was out of the way, we put in some drywall too. Great chats with RT and SJ tonight. Jim is buying, so let's get a move on :)
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
We had a great Ohio blue sky day. Wait a minute. Carolina is blue and Ohio is red.
Spent most of the afternoon at the pond and lease just sitting on the tailgate relaxing. Did spend some time fighting fire ants ["Orthoing" them and watering it in] at the lease. Had a couple of new nest in the back but "Ortho" takes them out.
Sleep tight.

Almost midnight on the East Coast....sooo...HEY!
Busy weekend....Princess's debut at the Corner of Chaos was ok, dance floor is old knotted wood and she caught her toe on a knot...she sore, but ok. Performance was cancelled Saturday as it did rain during the night. Saturday was the Harvest fair, I was on water patrol, driving the boat....it was cool and threatened rain, but was dry. I liked driving the Zodiac up and down the lake....easy duty! Left for the NJ Devils preseason game at the Rock in Newark. Beat the visiting Flyers 2-1...nice victory.
Today was easier...Giants won, Yankees lost, Dodge wins at Dover then napped on the couch. Princess went in at 4 and was done by 1030.
Tomorrow, back to the usual grind, shuttle Princess to school and look for a job...
- for our intentions...
Happy October!

I just finished up some class work. I procrastinated a little on one assignment because I was busy watching the Yankees lose today. I went to church and Sunday school this morning and enjoyed both of the lessons/sermon. After I watched the Yankees lose I went to dinner with a couple of friends. We went to an Indian restaurant and had a great meal. The Dolphins lost again today, but that was not a surprise. I am off to bed now.
Good night,
Joe

Its on VS TV right now.
Really nice fall weekend here. Put a chemical attack on the creeping charlie weeds in the lawn, picked the remaining produce in the garden & pulled up the plants, picked the herbs out of the herb garden and put some landscaping cloth and gravel down under the hose reel.
Stopped by the LHS on Saturday and found out that my SD70 in Texas Special livery will be here this week.
My wife's friends will be here tomorrow night to play cards. Need to get the tables set up before I go to bed. Think I'll hide in the train room tomorrow night.
Best of all, the Tigers won!
All for now.
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps near 70. Still beaming over yesterday. Will be smiling for a while over that one. Thanks for the post, Chief! While Dale Coyne was the last non big 3 team to win on a road course, I honestly do not remember when a team other than Team Red or Andretti won on an oval other than the 500 since possibly Panther won a race with Hornish before Sam went to the "Dark Side". Bran muffins on the dining car headed to "Points East". TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hi GUYZ,
A cool one here at 45 degrees. I see CHUCK primed the SNOW CANNON this weekend and shot it at State College. They got 1.7 inches of SNO HI O!!!. CHUCK re aim that toward NC.
Stay frosty,
laz57
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cool 48 degrees. Going up to 70 today with sunshine.
Today is busy. I have exercises to do and a little project to work on. I have been taking a nap in the afternoon and it helps.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck
Mornin' boys. Chilly in the Mid-Atlantic region. Probably a lot colder in Dallas and Miami... Fifey was a sack of couch potatoes yesterday. Must have needed the rest.
Sir James - How happy is Granny?
anjdevil - Looks like you have a fan...
Roy - I think I've pinpointed the source of your neck pain.
Chief - Please send some blue skies up I95.
Cheapclassics - The only time I've teared up about a race was when Jr won Daytona 7/01.
Fife,
I was the same way yesterday. Went to bed after I got home from work around 6:45AM, then slept until 2PM before going in for 5:30PM. Usually I average four hours at best since starting this job.
Had an interesting drive home this morning thanks to the Probe's original sealed beam headlights that have been in there for almost 15 years. Long story short, it was dark and raining and I was blinded by four or five cars coming the other way. Caught a quick glimpse of a telephone pole dead center, but managed to barely miss it. I really don't know how that car is undamaged and I am here to type this. Really puts stuff in perspective.
Still waiting on the 783. Hopefully it shows up today.
Morning. In a rush. Taking Wifey to the Dr. Got a cold but I think conguntivitus in one eye.
Mike, don't see how they do not kill each other. Running side by side and weaving with their wheels almost touching.
LAZ, the REB shield is up.
Have a good one.
Good Morning breakfast lovers

Charlie nice picture, she's a good ole girl. Granny Pat's doing good and I'm thinkin it will be ok to leave her while I attend our club meet Saturday night..And another week begins...S.J.
Aloha and happy Monday. Another beautiful fall day. Going to hike up to Apple in a little bit to check out my phone. The batteries dying every few hours. Tres annoying. Laz, da Bears! That Cam Newton is the real deal. Glad Hester set a record. Brutus, glad you got that water heater in. That's a lot of work. Joe, great time on your half-marathon. Charlie, did 765 just run through or did you take a ride? Sir J, should be a good game with the Lions next week.
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
Morning all,
First time checking in to the October pot. It has been a while. Glad to see Blueberry is still improving.
With October York coming up next week I was looking for a thread about breakfast on Friday, didn't find any. Is anyone going to York? Breakfast on Friday the 14th?
Still working on a doll house for #5 granddaughter at Christmas. Slow going, but have to get it done or granddaughter.
Haven't run any trains since the near flood of basement. Nothing of the trains got wet, but sure got damp. Have to power up and do some testing this week. It has rained at least a little every day since Lee went through. Forecast is for some nice weather starting Wednesday for about a week, hope they are right.
Everyone have a great week.
jefelectric - I was just thinking of you, and was about to post an APB out. I will be there Friday, and maybe Saturday.
Good afternoon everyone. Was a quiet morning with work. That was a welcome respite after the last few weeks. Spent a good bit of time trying to research if an iPad 2 would be a good choice for our future travels in China. DougM., any advice? I am wondering if it would be OK to go with the regular one with WiFi, or do I need 3G? We are mainly looking to be able to stay in touch with our family and to send photos.
Have the news on and they are showing a fire at a chemical plant in Texas. Absolutely huge complex and fire involvement. They reported that one of the first responding fire engines was burned up. Hope and pray that the crew got away unharmed.
I have to do a bit of a search for my bible study book. Seems it was "cleaned up" and moved to parts unknown. Later it will be time to get the kids and get to working on the layout. Hope to check in later.Dennis
Good afternoon Guys and Gals.....
Morning went good, I'll have to run out in a few to pick up the Princess. Job search? Hmmm, I'll get to it....
Partly Cloudy and in the 60's...no rain in the forecast just yet!
Juniatha, thanks, it'll take a little time, but I'll prevail........need a short break. Those 12 hour days were killer!!
Fife - I need all the fans I can get...
Spent 2 hours doing the fuel system on the roadrunner. Fuel tank is back in one piece, cleared out the fuel line and removed the fuel pump. I'll be replacing the rubber lines (one of which is original 1969!) and fuel pump. Tomorrow, I'll be hooking up the shifter, linkages and stuffing some 90W gear oil into the Hemi 4 speed. Hopefully by Thursday I'll have fired it up...first time in 9 years. Goal? Local car show on Sunday and I'd like to make it. After all, it is 1 of 179 made (total production of 824 with all engine/transmission combos) and BUILT in 1969 (August 19th...early production).
Probe: yeah I can relate....seems like the neon has the same issue. New capsules may help, but I need my unemployment insurance to kick in.
My Golden Spike package came in, just waiting on the cars to show up...soon I would hope!
Well, that's all from Exit 8...I'll check back later!
Rich
Admittedly old picture, This was from the Delaware North East Hemi Owners meet Labor Day 2001
I drove it from Jacksonville, FL to Newark, DE.
I moved it to NJ during the first attempt by my ex to divorce me. It's been covered in a heated garage since 2002 and only has had the engine out for a reseal and transmission out for a rebuild (by a SS/A guy who has a few national event wins). Interior is brandy new and only seat time on it was for the Delaware meet.
There was a picture of in Muscle Car Magazine some years ago when we drove it to Syracuse, NY (yes, I did drive it a lot!)
Topless in the fall is going to be awesome!
These are from April:
Nice car, Rich. I'm sure it's even nicer topless. Dennis, it seems like you just need a device that will access the Internet overseas - a wi-fi only iPad will work well. And there's all sorts of useful apps you can download to it. In my opinion, 3G is overkill. It won't work well overseas without a separate international data plan - which discounts the data roaming charges - like with using a cell phone overseas - but the charges will still absolutely kill you. That said, if another one of your preferred uses for the device would be to access the Internet in the US away from wi-fi, like from a car, 3G can be nice. You can turn it off overseas. They offer 2 flavors - 150 MB and 2 GB per month. The former is too little and the latter is too much. I have one of each type and the Wi-Fi-only is enough. By the way, I just saw the 11 inch Macbook Air - for a few hundred more $, you get a full keyboard and all the bells and whistles of a laptop. I'll probably get a few of them to try out.
Afternoon. Wifey has sinus infection and eye infection too. Spent most of the day at Dr's Ofc. As for me, had blood drained from a swollen knot on my elbow and a styroid injection in it. That was the result of a wild ride on an extension ladder that slipped [rubber feet did not hold on slick coating on new deck at lake house] three weeks ago. Was brusied pretty bad but was doing good. Suddenly started hurting and was not able to touch anything with it. Thing makes me mad is, the ladder bent when it jammed betwen the railing on the deck and the house. Now I have to buy a new extension ladder. Had that one since 1986. Told wifey we were like old folks. Both going in to the Dr. at the same time. Me driving her around. Almost got knot on head from that one. Eye Dr. gave her some strong drops and she can now see out of that eye again. Before she could not open it as it felt as if something like a big grain of dirt was in it.
How about Amanda Knox trail reversal.
Off to Town Board in a few. Got to be interviewed by a teen for her school work before the meeting.
Fall is in the air here. Make me want to take the rifle and go sit in the woods.
Later.
Rich,
I replaced the regular halogen sealed beams with Silverstars. Seems much brighter. Apparently the headlights were replaced before due to a rounded out screw holding the shroud on the passenger side. Had to drill it out after the Craftsman screw extractors made things worse. They are a disaster of a product, not unlike Robo Slips Grips. Are the headlights on your Neon hazy? That seems to be common around here with them.
No 783 today. Spent my day in the car. Went to one Pep Boys that supposedly had two of the headlights I needed. Half an hour to get there and find they only had one. Walmart didn't carry them, so I went back to Pep Boys and got it then drove to another Pep Boys that also only had one. Got lost on the way (shouldn't suprise anybody) but stumbled into a LHS accidentally. There was some nice PW Lionel and Flyer, but nothing that I had to bring home. Prices were a bit too $$. In total I did about 70 miles today.

And you make a crack about me falling. I did okay today I know how to do it safely ( put wife at foot of ladder so if I fall she breaks my fall)
Not much happening here bid and won some Lionel standard gauge track and then a remake of some tinplate buildings that MTH did of Lionel standard gauge buildings. 192 villa has 2 big houses and 2 small bungalows basically
Also won a double switch controller for my switches.
Think going to take it easy tonight as didn't sleep well last night kept waking up about every 2 hours.
Hope all have a good evening
