Good morning all, checking to see about Chuck mainly.

Bought some kind of thingy yesterday at Costco to hear TV audio better.  It hangs from your ears like an upside down headset.  It hurts my ears after a while.  If you have the TV speaker and the thingy on at the same time it sounds like the PA system at a ball park.  Also with my TV (which is new BTW) the connections don't work out so I can't use the thing with my DVD player unless I turn the cable box off.  Not happy with it but don't know what the odd's of returning it would be since it was already used.  Oh well, you win some and lose some.  I should get a good quality hearing aid if I need it I guess.

V8, I think it is legal to wear a gun in a holster in Arizona in plain sight.  When I went to Yuma on the Southern Pacfic Railroad, you could see bikers wearing them like twenty first century cowboys.  Too bad they were'nt around when that congresswoman got shot over there.

Still on prednisone for two more days for my back pain.  It is keeping me out of pain but my back is still weak I fear.  I can't walk very far without feeling discomfort like in a big store and I can't hardly lift anything over 5 lbs without feeling it.  Before I had this trouble, I was walking at least 20 minutes each day without stopping.  Will see the doctor again in about 10 days.

later,

Ray

Home again.  Wifey's B'day.  Checking on Chuck.  I guess no news is good news.  Man is bringing iron queen size bed frame Wifey bought off of Craig's List.  Taking it to the lake house.  King size in master bedroom takes up too much space.

ChiefEagles if you carried a gun on a motorcycle here in this high population area the police would pull you over instantly with guns drawn.

Good evening everyone.  Just got back from our Sunday School party.  Was great.  Enjoyed some good quail and great company.  I made a few Chocolate/caramel pecan pies which went over well.  They have some natural springs, one of which pools up and they use it as a "blue spring swimming hole".  Kids loved it, I passed.  While the heat was on the high side, my biggest issue was the gnats, so I tried to stay inside as much as possible.

Will continue prayers for Chuck.  Chief, I agree regarding moving to any place that limits my rights to carry firearms.

Fife, hope you get to feeling better soon.  Know of a number of folks who are battling a summer cold that just wont go.

God Bless,

Good Evening

I hope Mrs Chief had a happy birthday. Cake

A few small chores and a late afternoon storm was most of my day. Storm kinda messed up the Woodward Dream Cruise but there were still a lot of cars that stayed after the storm. As you would expect a lot of owners don't want their cars to get wet.  Banilla is ready so come on by with the thingy....S.J.

Good evening all,

I hope Chuck is doing well; I've been praying for him.  I've been away from the Pot for about a week and the news about Chuck was a shock.

We have been busy this past week.  The movers came and all of our stuff is on its way to Japan.  I am at the in-laws this weekend and I only have one more week of work.  I will then be in Alabama for six weeks prior to flying out to Japan.

Good night,

Joe

Prayers for Chuck and his family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mrs. Chief!

Today turned into a mostly wasted day.  My son was feeling sick this morning with a headache and we had a big rain.  That killed our afternoon and dinner plans with my daughter.  He was fine tonight, until we told him we will do the daughter's birthday gig tomorrow in between church and the members meeting.  Suddenly he was sick again.  We had a little argument and he went to bed early.  Oh well, it will be better tomorrow.

Since we didn't go out, I goofed off playing video games for a while and then mowed the back yard/hill.  It was very wet from the rain this morning, but I took my time and it was fine.  The humidity was pretty killer though.

Nice chat with SJ tonight.  TARDIS is ready, so let's hit it guys!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good night.  Our "plans" changed.  Wifey's Sister and BIL called and were on the way here to go out to eat.  So, Wifey called friend Gail and we all had Mexican.  Then went to Walmart for dog treats and food.  Read Wifey the B'day wishes.  She said thanks.  Sunday School and family reunion down east tomorrow.

Sleep tight.

WAKE UP you Yanks.  Rebs on the move.  Sunday School and then down east for family reunion.  Parker's eastern NC pork bar-be-que and SOUTHERN fried chicken.

Sad news.  Three ladies from NJ killed on I 95 around Wilson/Rocky Mount.  Coming back from Disney World.  Rest of the family in hospital but will be OK.  I hate that section from Benson NC to Emporia VA.  More wrecks than you can imagine.  Why I go over to Henderson and go up on I 85 to Petersburg.  Safer and less traffic.

Get well Chuck.

Hi GUYZ,

Prayers still going on here for CHUCK.  Thoughts and prayers for him and his family.  Get well buddy.

Well Pioneer Day was yesterday and fired up the Lokies for the last time of the year.  With the new tubes in place friday saw its madian voyage and ran great.  Save for the packing blowout of the main intake and exhaust tubes.  They didn't put the gortex around the whole way and that caused a steam leak.  We had about 500-600 people riding the train and or mine tour yesterday.  Not too bad, had my fill of BELINIs (potatoe cakes)  at the festival.  I have in service for school on Tuesday so yesterday was last day of volunteer work at tunnel.  We'll see what next year brings with my retirement?

Going to go over to Ned Smith lands for run with my gal MINNIE.

Stay frosty,

Good Mornin'Ya'll From Hot, Humid, and Hazy Taxachussetts,

Like the rest of you, I find myself checking in for word on Chuck.  I'm hoping he's able to check in on his Indians today.  Prayers your recovery is on track, Blueberry Hill. Angel

My wife did get her luggage back from the airlines, the same evening as her arrival at her business trip location (late), but not before she ran out (to Macy's) and bought a whole bunch of stuff to tide her over on her business trip.  Right after she returned to her hotel her luggage arrived.  When I asked her if she was going to return all of the stuff at Macy's here at home she looked at me like I had two heads.  Bang Head

It's that time of year that those of us with kiddies going off to college have to start selling their bodies on the street to pay the freight.  Ouch!!!!!!!

LAZ..............you da man!!!!!!!!!!  Between your incredible vmasonry work and saving the railroad, you have been quite the busy man!  Impressive work as the pictures indicate.

V8.......those Border Collies are difficult to train.  We had a Border Collie/Husky mix, and she wanted to control and herd everything that moved.  They are arguably the smartest breed out there and think they are smarter than us.  In many respects they are.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Fife......hope you can knock this crud down once and for all.  No fun.

Chief......happy B-Day to the Queen of Eagles' Nest. Happy B-Day

RaySP.......hope that the prednisone does the trick for your back.  It didn't work for me.  Then the Doc switched to a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, not expecting it to work.  Surprisingly, it did, and rather quickly.  Go figure.

JoeyD.........sadness.  The move to Japan is nearly upon you.  I hope your Yankees don't fall apart in your absence.  Laugh Wink

Off to do some mowing.  Will check back later.

Good morning all, more prayers for Chuck

Chief, How is that Parker's Bar-B-Que?  They must be one of the main souces for it in N.C. besides Smthfields.  The only ones I ever had experience with when I lived in Virginia was Bob Melton's and a place called Buck Overtons in Rocky Mount. I hear Melton's is gone now and I imagine the other place too.  It was all years ago.  Happy belated birthday to Mrs. Chief.

Laz, congratulations on the Lokie fire up.  Guess you will get the bugs out of it before next season.

Off to mass this morning and a little cooler today.

Aloha. Too bad it stormed yesterday during the big downtown air show. It knocked out power again but for only a hour. Still it cleared so we had a nice cook-out with my brother and his young family in the city. A beauty of a day today here - ran back and forth to church on errands, borrowed a mower to cut the grass - the electric is dead and has to be returned for warranty work. I'm taking the middle boy ice-skating in a few hours with a team from church - he's never been on skates before. Happy belated birthday to Ms. Chief.

Evening all not a lot going on here. Sorry missed your wifes birthday Chief please tell her Happy B-Day belated from me.

Just relaxing now been up since 5 this am.

Well the more I think about it The more I realize theres a lot I need to do to this room before I even try to make it into a train room. Well there goes that another delay I have to really do. I don't believe there is any insulation in the walls or the ceiling in this room that was added on to the house befor we even though of buying so thats the first thing I need to address well second first I have to figure how to access above the ceiling so I can add insulation up there lol. Then I will have to tear down the paneling that is in here to put insulation behind it ( need to try and access a little area so I can see if there is insulation or not and how much if there is. personally I would prefer to Sheetrock the walls anyway think it would be better in this 16x14 brick add on yes I remember there is a wall a little shorter than the other but was giving rough size lol

need to tear up this carpet which looks to me like its as old as the main part of the house and it was built in 1970 and yes this carpet looks rough now comes the $1,000,000.00 question do I put carpet back down or do I install that hardwood flooring that you snap together that they now offer I'm leaning towards the hardwood flooring. I know the wife likes it better also she not a fan of carpet at all. In fact she hates carpet.

I'm getting to where I don't like the paneling and I hate just painting it. Don't like the look of painted paneling. Its okay to me in someone Else's home but not mine as I use to have an employer his answer to fixing a mobile home was replace the spot with any type of paneling and paint it the room.

Oh well so much for my rant talk to you all later hope you all had a good weekend

Afternoon Boyz & Girlz.

Continuing prayers for Chuck & Paula.

Been really tired and puney feeling most of the week, guess it mite be time for another med adjustment. See the cardialogist tuesday morning.

Made a run to Michaels today, the Lemax halloween stuff was on sale for 30% off and I combined that with an on-line coupon for an additional 25% off total purchase. Picked up some of the accessories and just could not resist the Killer Klown Trailer.

Sounds as though it was a bad weekend at several different airshows.

Checking on Chuck, was hoping that Buckeye would have some good news for us by now.

We had a pair of wild storms here in late afternoon and early evening.  Rain, a little hail and lots of wind.  No major damage that I have seen other than a few downed limbs.  Had to go into the office and start the generator twice to keep the server running.  Both times I got it done before the battery backup died.  Son's away so Dad had to do it. Wink

The E-town Fair starts tomorrow.  Grandkids have goats, lambs, hogs and steers to show.  I will be busy taking pictures as this will be the last year for some of them.

I've also been working on a doll house for granddaughter #5.  Some day I will find some time for trains. Laugh

Hope everyone has a great week ahead.

Just home from a 2200 motor cycle mile trip to northern MN, WI and lots of time in MI, hard to beat Lake Superior and Lake MI -- perfect weather almost every day.  Except for Friday late afternoon when we barely dodged a tornado in Menominee, MI -- not so much fun.  Lots of miles for 5 days.

The week ended perfectly last night at Target Field in MPLS when the Twins THUMPED the yankees, great game, finally.

So sorry to hear about Chuck's health, hope he can hang there --  tough time for his family.

Good evening all,

Reffed two games Saturday and helped oldest daughter with some tree work.  Tired.  Took it easy Sunday.  Did go for a walk with wife.  I have not been on as much or commented as much since Chuck took ill.  Every time I sign on I dread the worst.  Continued prayers for him and his family.  Everything else pales in significance.

Keep on training,

Banks........the Collings Foundation tour visits my home town in September with the B17 Flying Fortress, the B24 Liberator, and the P51 Mustang.  My town airport is about 5 miles West of me and the planes fly right over my house at low altitude!!!!!  Hope to be taking the family to see the planes up close and personal, as we have done in the past.  A sight (and sounds) to see.  You can take a ride in them too.

Evening all

Had special intentions at all three Masses this weekend as well as a special Eucharistic Adoration service for the youth of the county who were having a retreat.

I got the Marx sets out and the kids and I put up a 6' x 6' and played on the floor.  They had their army soldiers, dionsaurs, and animals playing, for hours today.  It was a blast.  Did some major tree trimming to make way for the addition we're going to start.  Going to add another bedroom.

Good night and may God bless

Good evening everyone.  About ready for bed.  I come off call at 0700, so I am hoping for a smooth ending to the week.  Today has been very nice.  Had morning church which was great.  In Sunday School, we watched a video on a revival that happened at a college in Kentucky back in 1970.  It is  amazing how God uses the least likely of us to bring about the biggest changes.  Of course, that is how we know it is of Him and not some charismatic people on their own.

Tonight's church service was great too.  Had a bunch of folks join the church and also a lot of visitors from as far away as Hawaii.  For a small town with lots of farms and few big draws, we do get a number of visitors.  On Friday, we had Bill Cosby here doing a show.  I didn't go, but folks say it was very good.  He did step on some toes as he has often been known to do by calling folks out for being lazy, or for thinking someone has a right to sit at home and not work to put food on their table, etc.

I am almost done with a project I have been working on this past week.  We had the house painted and since doing so, the outside lights that were faded needed to be cleaned and painted.  It was a nice project as it required each fixture to be taken down, disassembled, washed, and painted and then returned to their location.  I have the final two drying as I type this.  I will finish tomorrow after work.  It is amazing how much better they look.

Chief, please tell Mrs. Pam we said Happy Birthday!  Hope you got her all she wanted.  You married a good woman and I am sure you have treated her right for her special day.

Better get going.  I will continue to keep Chuck in my prayers.  If anyone else has a specific thing they need prayer about, I will add them to my list....just email me and I will get it done.

God Bless,
Dennis
