Howdy guys - hot in Saint Louis today and very humid after so much rain this week. I mowed the lawn and played some video games for a little while. Nice chats with RT and SJ tonight and sure glad to hear his headache is better and his gandson, Jesse, as well! It will take a while, but he'll be good as new, kids heal fast.
Just worn out after all the mowing and heat - the grass was really tall, as it had been like 2 weeks since I last mowed and we have had a lot of rain. I came inside and cooled off in the AC a couple times to get my core temp down.
TARDIS is ready and I think we have plenty of provisions including Famous Banilla
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 74 degrees. Going up to 88 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and a project to finish. Then, I will relax. Maybe run trains later. I plan on spending some time outside before it gets really hot.
Dining car is here with the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Mornin' boys. Just plain pretty outside in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gonna make the fifelings sausage biscuits, go grocery shopping, then working pm shift on the water again (I'm really enjoying the opportunity). Haven't spotted any Somolli pirates as of yet.
Southern raid imminent...
Good Morning

Hi GUYZ,
Went trout fishing last nite and we caught and released 10 trout. Mostly raincows and I caught and released a beautiful brookie. These are usually gone by this time of year, they like the cooler water. Got home at dark had a cookout on grill, tooo hot for fire. Slepted in till 6 this morning and only did a slow miler.
CHIEF, get those varments! They are good for nothing, Good luck and shoot straight.
Stay frosty,
laz57
Morning all!
78 right now at exit 77 at the Jersey shore going up to the upper 80's.
Not much going on today. Going into work for a half day today and relaxing later watching some Yankee baseball, maybe some sausage cooking on the grill for dinner tonight. It's amazing how slow Sable's hair is growing back from her surgery in March. It's only about halfway grown in. I would have lost that bet!
Traindood - As much of a Yankee hater as you are, even you can't find bad things to say about Jeter doing what he did yesterday, can you???
HudsonJohn - You're not hidding my Hudson 322 on me, are you? It won't fit on your track remember, so you can't run her. Unless you're converting over to American Flyer! In that case I can help start you with some extra stock I have!
Jim - Traindood came up with some sage advice and he might be right. Just be careful in how you go from here as they probably will be watching you more. But not to worry I'm sure you'll do fine, just be yourself.
SJ - Glad to hear that Jesse is doing fine and hoping your headaches are a thing of the past!
SPRay - That was way too long for you meds to arrive. Unless they gave you a reason for that delay why don't you call them?
Enjoy the day!

Afternoon all. Back from Sunday School and BoJangles biscuits at home. Wifey mad as I had to go back inside and get her after 30 minutes waiting in the heat to leave SS. She was talking with her buddies. Now she is mad because I went and got her. Something wrong with this "tale". I think the word "spoiled" defines it.
No coyotes but did see foxes. About dark, friend that has permit to shoot the deer drove in and shot a young buck who had walked out into the field. "Party" over. We carried the buck to another section of the farm where coyotes have been seen. Will check the area later to see if it is there.
Off to the lake house later this afternoon. Back around Thrusday afternoon or evening [unless things happen to get me to come back]. Busy rest of the month.
Have a great week. [work hard as SS check due this week ]
PS: Friend Fred and I are taking a recliner that lifts a person to standing [electrical with remote] to Miss Dorothy. Mom had it and would not use it. Fred's Mom got it from me and used it a few months until she died. Miss Dorothy is in late 80's and can hardly get up and walk.

Afternoon all,
Home from services, I was preaching this weekend and it really is draining and fulfilling at the same time.
Going to work in the garage a bit today. Amazing how it gets messy so fast.
Try and check in later
May God bless

God bless you for your "service".
Afternoon all!
Back from vacation in Tennessee. All went well until I hit a submerged floating tree trunk in the river channel and bent the prop and prop shaft support and the bent prop cut into the hull. Oh well. Off to the dealer tomorrow morning for repairs. I showed the kids one can slalom ski behind a waverunner and then several others tried it too. Great week all in all.
Off on a business trip this week so will not be around much this week either.
Hope all are well!
Regards, Roy
Wow!!! It seems like it has been ages since I have been on the forum. With a trip to Florida for a conference, meetings outside of work and commuting from the lake and back, I don't seem my personal computer.
Did drive past the new roundhouse near Sugarcreek, Ohio. It is being billed as the private Steamtown. Amish workman have built most of the structures and the wooden water tank is now complete.
I'll start reading and see what I've missed.

Howdy All
still 86
I spent the day indoors, don't like wasting a summer day but I was lazy. Four of the gr/sons were here for awhile today including Jesse, he's doing real good. Banilla is ready but I will pass, had some pizza tonight and the green peppers are fighting back..lol....S.J.
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s again. Worked on rearranging stuff on the back porch to make it more presentable. Watched the F-1 race, listened to the Indycar crashfest, and later on watched the US women make a miraculous comeback on ESPN3.com. Good thing I did not watch it live as I would have a heart attack for sure. Team Red won both races today with Alonso winining for Ferrari and Mr. Judd in Indycar. Bright spot was Vitor Meira getting a fifth despite getting speared Paul Tracy and Swiss Miss and Bea both finishing ahead of the Princess. I had a well rounded breakfast of toast, bacon, and cereal with OJ and milk as well. All in all it was a not bad day. TBIL but someone else will have to drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
HOT in Saint Louis today. I was still feeling worn out from yesterday to be honest, guess I got too hot for too long? Just took it easy inside hooking up a printer on the network and playing some video games. I did some laundry and then had friends over tonight for dinner. We grilled out porksteaks, burgers, and hot dogs. I think the heat index outside was like 109, man it was hot! My neighbor gave me some rub to try out on the porksteaks and it was great, but maybe a little too salty? Any good recipes out there? I'd like to make some for myself, but I'm afraid I'd end up with a big container of something we didn't really like? Anyway, we visited and played some cards and then some Godzilla Melee on the xbox Cheezy fun!
Nice chats tonight with the guys. TARDIS is ready, so let's hit it freddy!
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the low 90s. We had a "new" priest arrive at the parish yesterday for mass (he is 56 and our last one was 77). He had a good sermon and seems personable. We shall see how it goes. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 72, and gonna get hot here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Crowded, yet "quiet" on the river last night. Came home and watched doc on Seal Team 6; pretty cool stuff. Back to normal grind tonight.
Roy - sounds like an expensive mishap.
Buckeye - I always have thought Steamtown was mishandled. And, I still think NPS hurt East Broad Top. Hope your little "Field of Dreams" fairs better.
It is a sunny 74 degrees. Going up to 86 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have to run an early errand and do a few chores. then I can work on a project until the afternoon nap. Not much else new here.
Dining car rolled in from "Points West". We are having Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Getting a little stuffy gere today. Gotta cut grass and load up all my scrap aluminum and copper. Taking it down to junk yard to cash it in on Wednesday. Ran a nice easy 3.15 miler this morning. Was gonna run a 6 miler but didn't sleep well.
Hope all are doing well,
Good morning
79/90s again today.
There's a storm heading towards us from the west but I don't know if it will reach here or break up. If it breaks up we have no rain in sight. All seems to be well this morning so I'll close. Enjoy your new week as summer slips away so fast..S.J.
Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
Lunch Time,
Had a great vacation this past week. My wife and I even got away for a couple of days. I can't wait until next week, I am off again.
Traindood, My wife was given 3 baby ducks by a co worker about 30 years ago. Her kids got them for Easter and they could not keep them. It was still a bit rural where we live and we were living on the water. The ducks turned out to be Mocovies and you are right they are ugly. they don't quack, they whistle. Well the 3 grew to 9 and more and they wandered all over. I rounded them up and brought them to my uncle's farm and they kept wandering around. A fox kept getting at them and between wandering and being fox dinner they disappeared.
SJ, I wish the best for you and your grandson. Both of you, get well soon.
Everyone have a great day.
John
AF53, Ray, no package yet.
you know John and Ray I'm waiting for Rays wife to come up with at Christmas time you know dear John has given you a lot of trains don't you think we should get this or that train set for him and it just happen to be what she was going to spend on ray for Christmas
Not much happening here trying to find the hand rails that Lionel used on the PA-1's as want to add them to the Williams by Bachmann PB-1 I have found the short ones but not the long and i only need 4 long but did find straight pieces of wire/railing 12" long i could cut and make my own but would rather find the already made ones lol. Oh well will see
Not much else going on talk to you all later.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne
http://rtssite.shutterfly.com/
Well ordered the small railings from train doctor and ordered some stock from Jeff so guess in about a week I will start trying to do all this probably will have to go get a smaller drill bit first thou think the smallest I have is 1/16" and I bet these are smaller than that.
Also as much as I like black over silver for trucks think I will paint the Williams by Bachmann trucks and fuel tank silver to match the Lionel instead of trying to pint the Lionel black to match the Williams ( I can unscrew the Williams tank where Lionel I would have to paint attached as its part of the shell. ) So it will be lot easier to do it this way. So thats my next project plan to take before during and after pics)
Talk to you all later have a good day.
Good evening everyone. Getting some of my list done. Car has about $1000. worth of maint. that needs to be done for it's 120k check up. Good place and they take care of me. Got my official invite to the movie premier....go figure! Anyway, it is a great time and it is a date for my bride and I.
Chief, that is yet another nice gesture by you. I know there are a number of folks here who are generous, but you lead by example.
Roy, my dad was on a boat in the Atlantic a number of years ago. They hit a submerged 55 gallon drum. It sent the prop through the bottom of the boat and they took on water. Ended up beaching her on Long Island....I think the remains of the boat are outside a restaurant. Glad you are OK.
Mike, I saw Danica on Fox News this morning as she was advocating her project on COPD. Glad she is using her fame for something good. She was also talking about making a decision about F1 or Nascar for 2012....didn't give the answer.
Hope each of you has a blessed night.Dennis

Coffee's cold
More storms today, the worst missed us. The rain we got won't turn the grass green but we will take what we can get. Had my banilla but there's plenty for the thingy crew...S.J.
Hot & humid today. Dashboard thermometer read (in my black car) 105 when I left work.. Cooled down to 102 by the time I got home.
Back to work today to keep SS solvent.
Doing some mental gymnastics by bashing some rough numbers for a model sized flash steam boiler. So far, the numbers are looking reasonable. Might have to try to build the thing someday. Going to run the numbers for the burner by my friend who used to design burners for Reddy Heaters and such.
All for now.
Howdy guys - hot hot hot in Saint Louis. Blah. Tried to stay inside as much as possible.
Okay - where is DougsNotaGrump??? Hope you are okay out there, buddy. Prayers!
Son conned us into getting an old used original xbox for 35 (45 with a 10 dollar game of his choice). The controller needs to be cleaned with some alcohol as the buttons stick a little bit. One game made him sick, so must be the video quality on that game.
New Warehouse 13 episode and American Pickers episode on tonight. Guess we missed the follow up show to the pickers though, where they clean up the car?
Nice chats with RT, SJ and Charlie tonight. Tardis is ready and we lots of leftover goodies. Let's go!
Good Morning,
Hot and humid. The kind of day the electric company loves. Keep those meters spinning and hope that the transformers hold.
RT: That is a great idea for Christmas.
Where is Dougdagrump? A little concerned now.
AF53, Ray, that is a sweet engine. BTW, where is the center pickup?
Fife: Today is the day to be on the water.
Everyone have a Great Day. Keep Cool.
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s. Dennis W., I do have to give props to the Princess for her COPD work. Anytime you see a sports start do good like that is a plus, no matter what else one may think of them. I may have mentioned this before, but check out Twitter for tweets by 78 Porkchop (Swiss Miss's backup car). I read one last night and got a great laugh. It had a heat index of over 110 here in the Hoosierland so I skipped the soccer scrimmage (wife threatened to drag me home if I tried to go, which would have been not pretty). Work will get more interesting with added work load due to one person leaving and not getting replaced. Life was semi-quiet at home. Lucas is starting to realize we are not paying for all of his college this year and finally started working on his loan apps. I hope we get some rain soon. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
