Evenin' Fellas.

Well it looks like next weekend at the latest.

Collin - Happy Birthday. I didn't know you were a Phellow Phillie Phan! Watching the game on mlb.com and Pence looks like a good pickup!

Worked on the layout today. Started planning some scenery work and found that I have to move the plate girder bridge to the other side of the Pratt Truss Bridge. This will do two things - eliminate the need for a creek over a tunnel and eliminate the need for a tunnel on the other side of the truss bridge, and it will open up the valley a little. Think it will be a lot more 'believable', but that means I need 2 packs of 1 1/4" track and a 4.5 inch straight. No biggie, I'll get it straightened out when I get back from FL.

Hello all,

Being lazy after a busy day, trying to clean up yard and garage.

Deer seem spooked by the "fireworks". we'll see how long that lasts.

Laz, we have no tags. As I understand it the Game commission gives deer tags to farmers that are suffering severe deer damage.  Unfortunately our ground is surrounded by housing developments. We are a "Safety Zone" I do shoot groundhogs when I can do it safely. I could shoot deer safely as well but I can't allow outsiders in to do it.It would be a pain to field dress them and turn them over to the Game Commission as required.

Mom's treatment seems to be going well. Two more trips. Thanks for the continued prayers.

Collin Happy B-Day Enjoy the Drinks and  Beer but be careful.

Off to join Mrs in Bed.

Prayers for those in need

Home from the winery.  [HIC!]  Did not know that Duplin Winery was so big.  They use their grapes and SC grapes.  Also GA and MS grapes [but juiced to ship to them as grapes will not keep for shipping].  They bottle 5,000 bottles a day. Surprise  Meal was good too.  The theater was so so.

WE GOT SOME RAIN WHILE WE WERE GONE!!!!.

Later.

Hi guys, well I had a pretty blah day - apparently the famous pulled pork sandwich I ate made me ill.  Wish I had lost that rock-paper-scizzors game!  Oh well, guess I'm feeling better now.  Had a very nice chat on the phone with our friend over the pond, John Baker.  He called me up and we talked for about an hour about British railway history, old movies, and books we had read.  Then tonight I had a nice chat with Sir James, mostly about old Pink Panther movies (the best!).  TARDIS is ready and I think I'm okay to be the driver now, since I've been feeling better for several hours.  TTFN!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cooler 68 degrees. Sunny, and going up to 90 today.

Today is an easy day. A few chores to do and then I will watch the Nascar race and the ballgame. Not much else new.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning everyone.  Getting ready for church.  I am on camera for services this morning and again for the actual concert tonight.  Yesterday was the DVD filming and CD recording.  I have a headache, so I hope it clears before I get there.  It will be  a long day otherwise.

Got up this morning and came back to bed where the dog had taken my place.  I tried in vein to retake my spot on the bed.  Lasted about one more hour and decided to get up and do my morning prayers and reading.

Looks like it will be a scorcher today, so that sounds like a good time to do some layout work after church.  May each of you have a blessed week ahead.

Good Morning

81/90 today.

Granny's at church so I had 2 toast w/crunchy peanut butter for breakfast. My only real plan for the day is to do some tree trimming before the yard waste is p/u'd in the early morning. Doing a little each week I do not have a big mess to clean up and bundle. Enjoy this beautiful summer day, well it's beautiful here anyway.....S.J.

Hi GUYZ,

Went to NED SMITH Days in Millersburg yesterday.  NED SMITH was a wildlife artist, conservationist from Millersburg Pa.  He has done lots of wildlife prints and has graced the covers of the PA Game Commisions magazine Game News.  He lived a block away from my present residence and was known to drink beer at my outdoor fireplace with the previous owner of my residence.  They have a NED SMITH center and land dedicated in his name and this weekend are the NED SMITH Days in MILLERSBURG dedicated to wildlife and all things in nature.  Took MINNIE down to see the dog frisbee compition, pretty cool.  These dogs were skying for the plastic disks.  All MINNIE wanted to do was play with these dogs.  We walked down to river and threw the stick for the dog she liked that.  Went to church and then had a cookout.  Didn't do any cutting of the stone yesterday, just didn't feel like it.  Needed a day off.

Stay frosty,

Good Morning Gents!

It's Page 41 and in honor of my Station number, I'd figure I'd jump in real quick.

Happy Birthday Colin!

Quick news Update:

Princess is coming home to NJ (for good, as her Mom forced her hand) on the 17th and I'm very happy about that.  I have to register her for college before then.

Looking at rentals and homes today, as Labor Day weekend, I'll be on the road getting the Princess' furniture and belongings.  I can't afford to throw more money into a storage unit.  And living with Mom & Dad, while saves me money, just not used to living at home.....

Work load has decreased which means less revenue.....resume has been updated.

Hope y'all are well, looking forward to York in October and meeting some of youse giz in the flesh.

I'm also looking for a desktop computer, as my access to the "family" computer is limited and the Princess will need one for college. My laptop is dying a horrible death....Sigh.

OK, don't forget about me, I'll be haunting the halls....

Good morning everyone!

Just read 3 days of posting and I felt like I read War and Peace! Half day at work today as we are having dinner with #2 daughter today, her 28th birthday is tomorrow. She wants everyone home today as we are all making our own calzone's.

Chief - Those winery trips/tasting are always a good time and usually pricey, but we still go as often as we can.

Banks - Continued Angel

HudsonJohn - RE: The girls were wondering "Where's dad? Who's paying for this food?"

Colin - Happy B-Day , if you're awake yet! Laugh

Chuck - Doesn't seem like you gave up much to get a front line pitcher, did I miss something?

DevilRich - That's great news on your daughter coming back!

DougM - Keep it up and before you know it you will have an indoor swimming pool.

JoeD - Yesterday's Day/Night sweep made the whole day nicer. When you score like that, early on, it just makes for a different kind of game.

Ok, back to work!

Later

Aloha. Nice wedding and reception last eve. I was DD so my wife had lots of fun. Might go to the beach after church. Or fix the sink. Decisions, decisions... HBD, Colin!  Whew, that was quite a workout yesterday, Laz. Thanks! I'm enjoying the British Rail history I picked up at the book sale on Fri.

Afternoon all.  Big rain this afternoon.  Poured. 1.1 inches.  Most we have had at one time in months.  Hope more is on the way.

Rich, great news on the Princess.

Ray, my first trip here to one of those.  Did one at Nappa years ago.

Jack, always deliver.  [below the M&D Whistling]

Banks, farmers here have permits to shoot them on sight.  Have to leave them where they are.  Can get smelly unless the coyotes drag them off.  Buzzards help too.

Colin, happy birthdayHappy B-Day glad you survived your first night out with your drinking buddies.

Quiet day so far.  Went to 11:30 mass today.  A lot of announcements after mass including honoring people who did special ministry.  My hearing is not so good so I did'nt have a clue what they were talking about until my wife told me later.  I guess I spent too many years on railroad engines before they used ear plugs.

Hope congress can get their act together today and stop scaring the heck out of old folks on SS and military wondering about their pay.  Some of those folks in congress act like they just discovered that we spend more than we take in.   Surprise, surprise.  So why did they choose this time to work on it.  The problem has been around a long time..  Pay our bills, then work on the problem.  My 2 cents.

Taking out our #2 son for his birthday dinner tonight.  We will get together with our whole family.

We got a trace of rain this morning but nothing to get exicited about.  It feels like a steam bath this afternoon.  Reminds me of how it was in Virginia in the Summer.

Chief, have a tomato sandwich for me.  I think I might plant some next year.  The ones we get in the store here are tasteless.  I've started buying fresh snap beans though instead of frozen ones.  Much better taste and not that expensive.  We also get pretty good corn and squash considering.  I loaded up on produce last week.  Only thing I have left is some cabbage to cook.

Enjoy your week end all,

Ray

86 and 90 today.

We went out for lunch, stopped and visited #1 son for a little while, and I trimmed some more off the yard trees. I also snuck in a short nap.  Banilla is ready so bring the thingy this a way.

Good evening guys.  Rich, great news on the Princess.  I know it will warm your heart to have her near.  Is she going to Rutgers?  I am sure you will get things settled soon.

Got a heavy storm going on right now.  I better get off this thing.  Got home from filming the concert.  While it was great music, and I am honored to be a part of it, my back and legs are in much pain from quite a work out.  TRUTH is a very talented group.  If you have them coming to a venue near you, I am sure you'll enjoy it.

I better get going.  Early morning, but at least I will be coming off call.
God Bless,
Dennis

Rich - big congrats man, glad Princess will be with you at last Thumbs Up  Good luck, hope you get more work.

Feeling a lot better today, but still had some back ache and just felt tired all day.  We went to that new church again, and again it seemed fine.  If we still like it next week, we'll attend their new member meeting.

For dinner, I grilled out some pork steaks with that rub I got from the neighbors and also some Nathan's hotdogs, which were great.  For desert, we had Chunky Monkey icecream.  Now we're watching If a Man Answers with Bobby and Sandra.

TARDIS is ready and we have Famous Banilla as well as the Chunky Monkey and cupcakes, so let's get going!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening all!

Had a busy weekend. Attended LCCA convention swap meet Saturday and also went to the banquet Sat night. Picked up a few items - tank car, couple of war coal hoppers (LCCA 2002 conv cars), a couple of box cars. Sold a couple of boxcars - wish I had sold a 1990 Dash 8 Santa Fe set I took and a couple of Pennsy locos.

Average low temp for July was 81 and we are looking at hitting 110 next week (Mon - Wed 106 to 1110). Most of state is now in extreme drought conditions. We are now at 30 days for 100+ temps, 42 days is 1980 record - looks like we may break it?

Have to make a business trip this week leaving Tues so likely will not have time to check in.

Hope all are well.

Regards, Roy

Another hot one today - about 100.

World has fallen in at work.  All hands on deck, curnch time on a couple of projects.  Only problem, 'all hands' seem to only include a couple of techs and myself.  This too shall pass.

I'll have to sneak off to the LHS for a train fis one day this week at lunch.

All for now.

Rich, Happy for ya. Even tho our daughter ain't exactly a "spring chicken" she's still Daddy's Girl.

Brutus, Hot Dogs & and a B-B-Q rub ????? Talk about Sodium. Oops

The Warden took me and the munchkin down to the museum friday. I took one of his favorite engines, Lionel SD-40 Desert Victory, so if there was an open track we could run some club cars. He had a smile the whole time we were there, I think I had more fun then he did. Thumbs Up After about 2+ hrs I started to run out of gas so the warden pulled the plug on our fun so we came back home and he and I watched a Scooby-Doo video. Smile

Good evening all,

The wife let me sleep in this morning so I did not get out of bed until 0800.  We went to church and then brought home a pizza for lunch.  We had a quiet day of relaxing: played the Wii and Monopoly with the kids.  I had some train time with the 1y/o son this evening before he had his bath and went to sleep.  The wife and I enjoyed a House Hunters International we had recorded.  It's now time for bed.

Rich – I'm glad your Princess will be with you.  Have a safe trip to FL and bringing her home.

AF Ray – The Yankees won again.  They are playing well and getting some quality starts from Colon and Garcia.  Some of the bench players are hitting well too.  However, those Sox never seem to lose when we win.

SP Ray – Our elected leaders don’t need to scare the old geezers like Chief or anyone else.  They have enough money pay those important bills; they only need to give up some of their frivolous pet projects and bridges to nowhere.  Also, they should all be forced to enroll in an Economics 101 course.  Sorry for the SoapBox.

Good night,

Joe
