RI JACK have you forgotten the NUMBER 1 rule of a modle railroader any money aquired from sale of same shale only be used to buy more of the same as we fight hard enought to get the little we have gotten.Yes

Once you give it up towards something else its gone forever and you have to fight hard to get any of it back. Wives can always find use for unexpected train money.

shame on you you need to go re-learn the 10 golden rules of a train collector. Big Smile

Window guy here and gone glad thats over with didn't take him long at all. Not a lot going on. just relaxing now.

Walked out to truck to check right rear tire as it was low the other day now I have patched it once and been hoping it would hold and that was about a year ago so figured it was giving out as it was right at the edge of thetire between the tire area and the side wall still in tread area but Firestone said they wouldn't replace it as it would never hold well thats where I figured I was losing air so was ready to look into buying a new tire Tuesday when I'm off well went back out today and found a screw dead center in the tread ( new spot and it hasn't been there that long as still could tell it was a Phillips style head) anyway so I plug that one and we'll see how that does. I'm suppose to have another 30,000 miles on these tires I want my money worths. lol

Calling for 99 today then 101 tomorrow and then slowly dropping a few degrees the next 3 days that I can see. with scattered/isolated thunder storms Sunday-Tuesday.

well you all have a good day talk to you all later

Good morning all, made french toast for breakfast with sour dough bread. Yum Yum!

Colin, thanks for stopping by.  Happy 21!  I tried to smoke or drink everything I could when I was young but time changes everything.  Enjoy yourself while you can.  Smoking was the worse addiction I ever had.  Much worse than drinking.  Quitting that was a piece of cake compared to smoking cessation.  However, I only quit smoking going on four years ago when I woke up in the hospital after some surgery with an oxygen tube attached to my nose.  I feel like this is my only chance to stay quit so I'm never going back.  It's just not worth it.

Got a call from #1 son last night near Las Vegas.  They went on some rafting trip before that and now he has back pain from a neve in the leg.  Had a real bad night but says he feels better this morning.  I hope they can drive home today so he can get local medical attention if he needs it.

The visiting cockateal bird was going nuts this morning so we let him out of the cage.  He has been flying all over the house and finally calmed down.  I didn't have time to give him much attention yesterday.

Just had another call from son in Vegas.  He is feeling much better today and they are on the way home after they eat.  Praise the Lord!

Had small get together with a couple of friends last night.  One of them told us about his recent trip around the country on private rail cars with a tour group.  It was quite a trip covering a lot of major cities.

later,

Ray

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEIWTITN.  Good day at work today and yesterday.  Lucas and fiancee looking for jobs in Bloomington today and tomorrow.  Made reservations for Mid-Ohio for next weekend.  Maybe I can get a picture of 78 Porkchop.  Going to see "Captain America" tonight.  Going to Bloomington for grandson's birthday tomorrow.  Congrats, Colin, on the 21st birthday.  Good to hear from you again.  Perhaps it would be best to stay away from the cigars, tho.  Good luck to all involved in adoption processes.  I had the regular fare on the dining car.  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening everyone,

Thanks for the birthday wishes so far. I'm definitely looking forward to being 21 and finally being able to go to the bars.

I only smoke cigars on occasion with friends...I used to smoke cigarettes but I quit that after I started working. I also really didn't like the way my clothes ended up smelling after I smoked a pack a day. I feel much better now, so I'm very happy about that!

Good evening everyone.  News is on fire about the budget getting passed in congress....I think Washington is the most in-efficient group ever.  If a business were to function the way they do, it wouldn't be around.  Of course, they have the advantage of not using their own moneyBang Head

Colin, Happy Birthday to you sir.  I caution you about hitting the bars.  I won't tell you not to do it, but I will caution you to do it with responsibility.  One lapse of judgement could be a life changer.  I will also say that the difference between me and a lot of folks I know...I never got caught, so it is not that I am better than anyone.

Looking forward to tonight's Military Channel movie of "Kelly's Heroes".  They take a war themed movie and have a military man critique it.  I am sure he will have high regard to the accuracy of this classic.  Just because they play some Hank Williams Jr. music when he wasn't even born when the time of the supposed raid, and a training plane attacks a convoy...Hey, what do I know, my railroad has 3 rails!

May each of you have a blessed and happy weekend.

Dennis:

I've heard quite a few stories about bars and believe me when I say I'm going to be extremely cautious in the bars. Our group always decides on DD's ahead of time, and as soon as we're all 21, we will all have our turns. We won't go to bars often, mainly because we enjoy staying at each other's houses where we really have no worries. We all hand our keys in and the person in charge puts them somewhere out of reach from everyone.

Evening guys, Thought I better make a post before they lock this one up and start a new one for August.

Colin, Happy 21st birthday, It looks like you have had enough lectures so I will just say ditto.

I was another hot one here with 95 and feels like 105.  Started out with rain, then lots of sun and humidity, then finished off with a heavy rain.  Total of 1" for the day, all of which is badly needed.

Hey, the right colored Sox won one! HBD Colin! First evening it's not storming in a while. Jack, nice to hear NH is still 'unspolied'. Found a 1946 Model Railroader mag in mint condition and a British Railway History of Railways for Young People at the Newberry Library Used Book Sale this afternoon! Prayers also for Hudson's mom.

TGIF

My rain making ploys did not work out last night - thunderstorm to the east of town, thunder & lightning to the west of town - no rain in town.

I'm in a stretch of long hours at work too.  Partially catching up from last week's vacation and partially because of several new projects ramping up, adding to others that are not quite finished.  All in all, there are much worse problems to deal with.

All for now.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a humid 74 degrees. Very little rain last night. Going up to 90 today.

Today is a busy day. Chores and then, I have to run an errand. Maybe a nap, later.  Not much else new.

Dining car is here with the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Very smart also Bars can have there fun moments but also its also a lot cheaper at home than a bar as you will find out by the time you pay for 2 or 3 drinks at a bar you have paid enough for a bottle and mixes basicly for the night at home plus maybe the next time also .

Morning.  Going to be only 102 today.  Taking a "load" of tomatoes to Miss Edna's and then back home.  Headed to Duplin Winery for a afternoon thing and then the dinner theater.  Smile Home late. Sad  Guess who is doing all the driving? Sigh

Later.

Morning all.  Again, since this is the official day...Happy Birthday Colin.  Did a little structural work for making an elevated rail line.  The news this morning had a feature on the Ohio State Fair.  They were interviewing a farmer and I learned that Ohio is one of the top ten agriculture producing states.  So, something good actually does come from Ohio....just kidding!  I think it is great and hope the folks up that way have a great fair and are able to venture there at some point.  Our state has it's fair in October as it is too hot any sooner than that.  We have taken the kids to it and had a good time.

Doug Not the Grump, hope you are feeling better and getting your energy back.  I know it takes some time.  Most folks find that having had a restricted activity before they were brought to the hospital, the treatment is a mid point and they begin to build the stamina that has been missing for some time.

Doug M., hope that the basement is coming along.  While we don't have a basement, we do have a garage.  It was flooded when a builder up the street cleared an area and didn't provide for proper drainage.  I only lost a couple of dog beds in that one.

Chief, hope you are getting a little time to relax in all your duties.  It is good to just relax and re-group.  I am enjoying a little time with just me and the dog.  Will get to the trains next and then it will be time for heading to the church to film a concert.

Have a blessed and safe weekend,
Dennis

ChiefEagles

Charlie, nice looking "toon".  Where are the rod holders?  Walleye!!!  Best eating fish in the water.  Wish we had more at Kerr.  Hard to find there.

Chief I put Scotty Rod holders on the boat.  2 in the back and 2 on the side.

Yes Fife, Isabella makes excellent live bait :) LOL!

Morning guys! Thanks for all the BDay wishes! I'm headed off the Phillies game tonight and may end up going out afterwards with some good friends...only 13 more hours until I'm 21! The party at my friends house was cancelled because his parents need a break.  Almost all the guys and girls in our group are turning 21 over the next few weeks/months and my friend decided to allow all the parties to be at his house. All we gotta do is chip in to stock the beer fridge and refill his liquor cabinets.

Mornin' fellas and gals;      Today has to be one of the best days of the year. Bright sun with low humidity. Was gonna work on the porch, but decided to goof off instead.   Hey Charlie;   That's some sweet ride, i'm turning green with envy!   Thumbs Up   Tommorrow is my grand sons little league championship game for 9-10 year olds.   Luck would have it that i have to go to a wedding in the Big Apple. Bang Head  Whole family is going.   My son had to call the in-laws in for double duty.  Trying to get out of this garl durned, hoity toity ( read high class) high faluten, over dressed, overspent, over indulged garish affair!  Maybe i could try faking some medical issue.  Nah, last time i tried that wifey called the para medics and i spent the whole day in the ER!    Gonna have to suck this one up.     Sigh      later.

Think good thoughts, do good deeds!

Ooookay - I'll try one more time.  CTT keeps eating my posts.  Prayers and prayers and prayers.  Happy Birthday.  LHS's don't have a K-Line car I was looking for, so got one online an should get it next week.  Storm hit about the time we finished lunch.  Going to work on the basement.  Missed the messenger thing last night, but did catch Charlie and sounds like a blast at the lake.  TTFN

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Hello all

Raining just about every day up here on the mountain. Working on painting the top floor. Grey, steel deck. Paint chips and rust flying everywhere. Feel like I'm back in the Navy, except as a Seabee I didn't paint many ship decks.

Colin - happy birthday!

Charlie - nice boat!

Thoughts and prayers for those in need

Time to find some breakfast

TMCC Man, sounds like you guys are getting ready for combat with all that talk about stocking up the fridge with beer and loading up the liquor cabinets.  Ah! to be 21 again.  We all go through it but be careful while you are having fun if that's possible.  Just remember, flower beds and lawns are not for sleeping if anyone gets carried away.  I commend you for thinking of a DD.  That's the smartest thing you can do while drinking.  In case I forgot, it's OK not to drink.

Son is home from vacation now and is picking up the bird today.  He was feeling better with his back/leg pain yesterday.  Hope it is just a temporary condition.  These thinks happen when a person who sits in an office all year decides to go white water rafting on vacation.

I think I will try to get out to the garage/train room before it gets to hot today.

Have a good weekend,

Ray

Good afternoon all,

We went to the in-laws' house last night.  The wife, her aunts, and cousins enjoyed the comedy show.  The show lasted much longer than anyone expected so we did not leave their house until 2300.  We arrived home about 0100 this morning.  The 1y/o son and I were up around 0800 and went for our usual Saturday morning walk.  We've been lounging around so far but we need to start knocking out some chores.

Good day,

Joe
