Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a clear and sunny 60 degrees. Going up to 80 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of chores to do and a project to work on. Maybe a nap, later.
LAZ....Are you working on the train this summer?
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck

Mornin' Fellas.Been tough popping in and keeping up. Went to FL on Saturday to see a 3D ultrasound of the baby. It was really neat, but all she did was sleep so we didn't get to see much other than her face. She is doing well est to be 3lbs 11oz which puts her in the 64%ile for her jestation (30wks 1day). Spent last weekend finishing the spare bathroom remodel, still have to finish painting the door then rehang it - hope to do that tonight, and then installing a ceiling fan in the nursery, cleaning the nursery carpet, and assembling nursery furniture. Yesterday I installed ceiling fans in the two spare rooms, need to install new switch boxes and finish wiring them tonight. Good timing too because the temps are supposed to be in the mid-90s all week.Next project is to build a frame and shelf for the mirror we removed from the spare bathroom. This will be painted and then hung in the nursery above the changing table. The shelf will be for powders, creams, wipe warmer, and anything else baby changing related. When she gets older she can use it to store other stuff. Then I have got to start getting the basement straightened up and cleaned. We are going to need the extra space and will have to replace the sectional down there with a sleeper sofa.
Banks Hello all, Today is D-day. not a mention of it anywhere in the broadcast media that I saw. One small article in the local paper. Thanks to all who served. Sad day. Speed and a tree do not work.
Sunny and real warm. County Commissioners and Town Board.
Brent, do not lose a finger or two.
All you workers go to work and work hard. My SS is due and they are taking out $100 more than a friend has taken out for Medicare. Obamacare!!! Seems the more SS you draw, the more they take out. I'm use to free health care. Just for that, think I will go to the Dr. every week to make sure I get my $$$ worth.
Have a great week.

Good Morning
66 going into the 80s.
Me thinks I should cut the grass today, as 90s are looming for mid week. A good chat with Brutus, Charlie & RT last night.

I do the same thing every summer, usually starts in early spring. Then I get to thinking what happens to the track, buildings, Etc. with the freezing and thawing, cats, snow, Etc. Do you have these concerns?

Good Mornin Ya'll From Sunny Taxachusetts,
Banks.....I hear you! It is the anniversary of D-Day, arguably the most important battle of our times with horrific casualties and sacrifice. And not so much as a mention of it on the news. What are the editors and bureau chiefs thinking when they give the green light to the stories that make the headlines? Don't they care?
Beautiful moderate and sunny this past weekend made for enjoyable outdoor stuff. Fired up the new grill again Saturday evening for a simple but satisfying meal with the family.....teriyaki chicken, corn on the cob, chicken rice pilaf, and a massive tossed salad. Lemon crunch cake with B&J's Cherry Garcia ice cream for dessert.
My Dad used to espouse "everything in moderation." Mother Nature is not listening. Despite last Wednesday's devastating tornadoes and storms hereabouts, it has been over two weeks since we had any significant rainfall to speak of. The grass continues to grow but is already starting to lose it's virulent green color. Decision time: start watering and incur a staggering water bill or let nature take its Summer course. High 60s now but it sounds like I'll be getting SJ's 90 degree weather Thursday.
Brent........ from the sound of your post it sounds like your prayers will be answered. I will continue to keep you and Susan in my prayers. Sent you an email about your sis' dog. Hope you got it.
8N.......your news on the wifey's PT progress on the knee was a shot of fresh air. It has been a long and tough road, but she has continued to knock off each obstacle one at a time. She must get her inspiration from you.
Chief.......you're alive!!!!!!! Was beginning to think you went AWOL. No birthday bash details? That fatal crash story you shared was horrible. Every time a vehicle and a tree meet, the vehicle and its occupants lose. I can't imagine what the parents, families, and friends are feeling. No matter how much a parent warns their kids about speed and driving distractions too many young folks don't pay enough heed.
LAZ........T-minus and counting. You survived another one.
Later, gang.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Goodness yes, I share those concerns, Pat. And I know there are ways around them. I guess it's also the challenge of starting such a big thing with everything else that has to be done. (I did see the G scale Thomas electric sets were pretty cheap though....)
Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
Blueberryhill RR Good Morning from Blueberryhill.... LAZ....Are you working on the train this summer? Chuck
Yes CHUCK they want me back. So i will be starting on Tuesday thw 14th and will be working every Tuesday and maybe Wednesdays this summer. I would like to get on a part time basis for next year when I retire. Time will tell?
Good morning all,
It's my first day back at work after having about 10 days off due to some leave time and the holiday. I hope to be firing on all cylinders by this afternoon. It's going to top out at about 99 again today, and since it is getting hotter earlier I need to start my morning runs earlier which takes time to get used to.
Train-related question: Do any of the big O manufacturers (Lionel, MTH, etc.) make any European style trains?
Good day,
Joe
Joe MTH has quite a few pages in their catalog ...European style trains.

Chief, glad to have you back on board. Hope you had a nice birthday. How big were those stripers you caught. My brother in Virginia catches them in both salt and fresh water since they can live in either but he says he thinks the saltwater version taste better.
Made a chicken and shrimp dish last night with linguini. Was very good and had two helpings.
Good train meet yesterday but was unable to spend enough time there due to other priorities.
Have a good week,
Ray
Train dood, thanks for the offer on the Eggplant Parm. I think N.J. is a little too far right now however. Just send the receipe. Thanks a million.
Mornin' All.
Just had to drop in and post this link in hopes of brightening a Blue Monday:

Roy, Congrats to you and your bride.
Brent, Sounds as though things are moving along smoothly, I hope.
Buckeye, Did he like the "Little Toy Trains" clip by Roger Miller ?
Ray & Dood, It has been decades since I have had a Veal Parm out here that was worth hoot. So many of these places try to pass off a glorified burger patty as veal. Although I have found a couple places that can do a tolerable chicken parm, but veal is much better.
Procrastinated enuff, got work to do.

Late Lunch,
Happy belated birthday to the Chief. I am glad that you enjoyed your day.
8n, great news about your wife's knee. I know what you mean about motorsports changing. I refer to the NHRA as No Hot Rods Allowed.
Laz, that sounds like the perfect night to me. Fishing, BBQ, Fire and Beer. Your retirement schedule is close to mine.
Roy, Congrats on you r 25th anniversary and pass on the Happy Birthday to your daughter.
Don, Good luck and have fun with the G scale.
Banks, D day. A lot of us forget but I hold it in esteem. Enjoy the little one.
Doug, Take it from trainddod and I, we have the best Veal Parm in our neck of the woods. It will beat grits anytime.
Have a Great Day,
John

Laz sorry I was originally meaning Doug and the gulf carts but your link was cool too I have it somewhere already saved on the computor here lol.
Banks,
I've been sticking my head in, but haven't had a chance to post. Let me know how Toy Town's inventory is after you get back. I'll (hopefully) be in the area July 10-17.
Brent,
Continued for you and The Q. I think that we are close to the same level of being busy work wise, but I am loving it.
Brutus,
If you get a chance, pick up L.A. Noire. It is great. I got it for the PS3 because it is on one BD compared to 3 DVDs on the 360, but I'll also get it for the 360 if people on my friends list do. Best game I've played in a long, long time.
I haven't had a chance to post since I've started this new job last Tuesday. Hands down the best thing that has ever happened for me. Everything about this is perfect. I actually wake up excited to go to work every morning, which is something I never thought I would say. Ever.
I replaced my Vizio 32" LCD with a 42" LG Plasma last Tuesday since hhgregg had a great sale. I sold the Vizio to a family friend and used the money to get tools for work.
If anyone needs tools, get to Lowes before the end of the month. A lot of things are 50% off, and there are some great combo deals. Back to Auto Trader...
Why do i spend more when I have a coupon? How did that happen. Well, at least I bought so much food the boys and I will be eating pizza until the bride returns. The youngest wanted to go through my tools - so I got some wood and was teaching him how to use a saw, power-screwdriver and hammer. The basics. Wore him out. Jim, LA Noire is an amazing game. Just noticed not one, not two, not three, but four auto parts stores opening in town - all within a few miles of each other. They join two others. Its not like there's a race track around here. Off to church for a meeting. Near 100 here tonight. Thank you Lord for working a/c.
