Yes looks nice there probe or should we now call you stangWhistling

looks like a real nice car and if payments are close thats great. 4 years old nothing wrong with that my truck was 4 years old when I got it but lot higher mileage than what you have but I still have it and its now 8 years old going on 9 and still love it. take care of it which I get the impression you do and it should still last you a long time by the way my truck is an 03 and now has 159,000 miles on it and still runs good. ( knock on wood lol)

evening all not a lot going on here just looking here and there and relaxing seeing the chief gave us the weekend off.

had turkey for mid afternoon meal and cherry cheese cake for desertDinner

Fife,

That would bother me if I was in your line of work and a citizen  got like that.  Why couldn't he see that you were concerned for the safety of himself and others?  I've said it before, and I'll say it again:  I have nothing but the highest respect for those who protect and serve.Bow

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday.  I am living my dream now.  The Sunfire is a thing of the past, and I replaced it with this:

It is an 07 GT Deluxe in Redfire Metallic.  Gray leather, 5 speed, Shaker 500 sound (don't need that with the 4.6 V8 thoughBig Smile) and 42K on the clock.  Love it.  The payments are very nice too, because they aren't much bigger than the Sunfire's were.  I need to get used to the 5 speed though.  I am fine once I get moving in first, but letting the clutch out from a dead stop is what I have to work on.

And before anyone worries, I'll be extremely careful.  I know what I have and the potential consequences that could come with a lack of respect.

Good afternoon all,

We've been enjoying a very nice Saturday so far.  The baby and I woke up early and took a walk to get the morning paper.  I made the older two breakfast when I returned and then I enjoyed the paper and coffee.  The two older kids and I then played some wiffle ball in the backyard.  All the kids and I then walked to the commissary (base grocery store) to pick up a pork butt - it is smoking as I type this.  Obviously the wife is enjoying a leisurely Saturday - she and the older two kids are at the pool right now.  The older son has baseball practice this evening and we don't have any other plans.

SJ - I was just curious how fast it runs through town.  I'm sure he saw it and knew it was coming, I suppose he thought he was faster.

Chuck - Thanks for letting the Yankees win last night, they needed it.

Good day,

Joe

I have must of bought in past from this person otherwise know as train husband as I have it save in my favorite seller. Railroad Galaxy = train husband If I had a problem I would not of had in my favorite seller list but in my blocked buyers list. I do that so I know who not to deal with in the future.

good job fife wish more officers would be so alert to it. I see it to often and some times close my eyes as don't want to see what might happen hasn't yet in my view thank-goodness but it does happen.

Morning all just put a turkey in the oven. we normally buy 3 or 4 around thanksgiving when they have them on sale cook one put rest in freezer and then cook them through the year. I don't have a big freezer probably call it a medium freezer so can't really store more than 3 in there without taking up most the room but it does us in size for what we want. we must of unknowingly saved the biggest for last as this one is just over 20 lbs so will have turkey for a while lol.

not much else going on about to make wife a cherry cheese cake this morning also. Since already using the oven will have to do one of those nobake mixes you can get ( bought it last night)

Just relaxing this morning. acually slept in this am and just got up about 20 minutes ago must of been tired working all this past week to pay chiefs SS.

Talk to you all later

Nice video Buckeye

Still muggy here this morning with big storm in middle of the nite.  Have to check out creek see if ok to fish?  Gotta cut grass this morning, when it dries.

BUCKEYE love the video.  Your little engineer needs a little more time on the rocks with the balancing thing.

Buckeye - The older gentleman t'werent to happy to meet me.  He wouldn't concede that his actions were hazardous (the lead engine was actually entering the crossing- 5mph probably - from his right...Less than 40 feet mind you).  Got all fired up over the $90 fine.  If there was a positive, traffic at the time was heavy, and lots of motorists witnessed a "cause & affect" moment.

fifedog.......Have you ever been asked to do a cab ride to watch for gate crashers?  During my short 25 mile ride in the fireman's seat on the Napa Valley Wine Train, the conductor and engineer asked me to help them spot any vehicles not stopping for the grade signal warning lights.  Sure enough, a Chevy pickup's cloud of dust was spotted roaring down a dirt road hidden in the vinyards, and crossed the tracks less than 50 yards in front of us as the signal warning lights and bell were working.  The engineer laid on the horn.  The conductor caught the pickup's rear plate and right there in the cab called the Sheriff.  There was no way we could have stopped that train loaded with  hot food, families and crew to miss that truck if it had stalled or stopped.

Mornin' boys.  Humid and overcast here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Been a hot week (not complaining).  I actually prefer 90's to 20's.

Middle princess graduated this week (wifey already suffering separation anxiety).  Youngest princess wants her sisters' shoes to go with her to college.  Fifepup will be working at the local grocery store soon.

Saw a complete unit train from the Wheeling & Lake Erie (4 engines and hoppers) visit our steel mill (calling it RG, this week...)  Must admit that paint scheme is growing on me.  Oh, related to an earlier post,  as the above mentioned train was entering the grade crossing of our main boulevard (red traffic signal- flashing red overhead crossbucks - diesel horn) older gentlemen came driving through hazards....he met me on the other side...sign here, sir.

No BLTs here before the middle of July but I have the bacon fried and the toast made. We had a nice visit from one of granny's sisters, niece, and her young daughter. Banilla is waiting..S.J.

Wifey and I went out for ribs and sweet ice tea. Dinner  Came back and loaded washer.  Jeans and play shirts dirty.  Started lightning.

Storm went around us so I turned on soaker hose.  It came back and POURED.  Now it is actually backing up and coming down again.  Will hit the road to the lake house as soon as wash dries and it stops raining.  Garden will love it.  Taking ripe tomatoes from garden.  TOMATO SANDWICHES.  Back Monday AM.

Graduation ovr [was at noon].  Wake Co HS's are so large, they have to use the convention center in Raleigh.  Then only limited number of relatives may attend.  Have to have tickets.  Matt's brother walked across the stage and got his certificate.  I stood up as he made it to the top step.  Everyone then jumped up and aplauded him.

Washing clothes and soaking garden before hitting the road to the lake.

Later.

Very gut getter that part of the ceremony chief don't know if I could of done it. Glad you where there for them. May God bless them all.

Good morning all,

Chief, hope all goes well at the graduation.  Prayers for you and the others.

Traindood, Ouch!  I never had a stone that big, thank God, but most of them hurt  a lot.  I have had some that just passed without me knowing it until they came out.  Re eggplant, my wife is a good cook too.  I just like to mess around sometimes in the kitchen with things that only I like.  Oyster stew comes to mindChef but that is a hit with the whole family.

Buckeye, never had a stone pass that fast but the last one did pass the following day.  Some of them took several days.

Chuck, congratulations on OTTS,  other toy train society.

later, Ray

Good morning all,

I am very glad it is Friday, it has been a long week and I still have plenty of work to finish before I can start my weekend.  The Yankees blew it last night and were swept by the Sox.  They better tweak their pitching fast of the rest of the season will be long.

SJ - That's an unfortunate incident.  How fast was the Amtrak going?

Chief - I'm sure there will be a lot of emotion tonight.

Traindood - I am blessed with an amazing wife, who makes the simplest ingredients into an amazing meal.

Good day,

Joe

Mornin' fellas and gals:       Lots cooler here after storms last night.   Hey SP Man:  Last word on eggplant; don't use any salt, with the breadcrumbs and cheese, it's salty enough.  Kidney stones! OUCH!!   Had one three years ago, I was on the floor in the fetal position, wifey says now i can imagine how child birth is!    Crying    Darn thing got stuck in the tube between the kidney and the bladder! Scan pics said it was about 10cm!  Dr. had to shove it back into kidney so they could blast it with their ray gun two weeks later!    Talk about a roto rooter job!  WHEW!  Prayed to every saint I knew and some I didn't!   Don't want to go thru that ever again.  However, that's  how the doc found the enlarged prostate. So far benign, thank God.  Better safe than sorry.    I can deal with that with the right meds.  Hey Joe:  Sounds like you got youself a great wife!  You know the saying; The way to a man's heart is thru his stomach!    Dinner    Hey Chuck:  You lucky dog!  All my therapists looked  like Margaret Hamilton!    (witch In Wizard Of Oz).       Laugh               later.

Good morning all,

It is rainy in SE Indiana with pop up storms all day long.  Rain held off long enough for us to enjoy Allison Krauss concert in downtown Indy last night.  It was a good show.  Busy weekend on tap.  30 cars will be starting at Texas Motor Speedway for the INDYCAR race Saturday night.   Should be interesting.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Overcast here and 55, rain expected. A 14 year old boy walking to school yesterday morning tried to beat the Amtrak train, didn't make it. Another sad story of kids taking chances. All warnings and gates were working. TGIF for you working folk...S.J.

Aloha from a cool, grey and rainy Chicago. Sending the storms eastward. Whew! Glad I don't have to work this weekend for the Chief's check. Looks like a busy Friday. Youngest turns 9 in a few days so have to go present-hunting tonight.
