Aloha. Sunny and only 46 for the new mayor's inaugural a few blocks away. At least it's not raining. Let's see if this effort to post a few photos works. I road this C&NW GP at the IL Railway Museum on Sat.

and also this 94 year old CA&E interurban. It can really fly. Note the enthusiasm...And here is my birthday gift. Have to find some coal...

Morning everyone,

Nice coal loader Doug.  I have one just like it on my layout.  They work great.  Sounds like you had a nice birthday celebration.

Yesterday we visited the Lancaster Kennel Club dog show.  Nice show and since it was indoors, even better, because it rained like the Heavens had opened up.  A dalmatian won the best of show award.

A misty morning with more rain on the way, looks like no break in the clouds until Friday. At least we have no flooding as do many parts of the country. Sold an HO train set on the bay and need to pack it up and ship it out. Bought it a few years ago for one of my grandsons when he was in HO. Before I had a chance to give it to him, he decided to give up his layout and quit HO. I kept it hoping he would change his mind, but did not, so it is sold. Have a few other HO items also to put on the block. A few structure kits and some odds and ends. Will do when time permits.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Lunch Time,

Rain on and off. Temp dropped from 62 to 54.

Doug, nice Coal Loader.

John F, Our location is going to 4 -10hr days with Fridays off, starting next month for the summer. I figured time for Lancaster and the museum.  At the staff meeting I was told that I am working 4 - 10hr days plus 10 hours on Friday until we get caught up. I guess I might as well pay for the Chief''s SS. Sigh

Everyone enjoy the day.

Good morning all,  Next to last space shuttle got off OK this morning.  Hate to see this program ending with no replacement ready yet.  Have to depend on the Russians for transportation to and from the space station.  What ya hoo figured this move out!

Rain showers predicted here tomorrow which is pretty late in the season for us.  It's cool here today.

Doctor appointment at 3:00PM today but no other outside business.

My layout is temporarily shut down until I get on my feet again.

Have a good week all,

Ray

Got phone call ( automated) Friday evening telling me I have an appointment Tuesday ( tomorrow) at 9 am so I called and canceled then the appointment called me and said there mistake its June 17th not may 17th Which ii thought it was. Laughnot much going on here went to doctor today because I want a new pair of sneakers instead of the shoes they want me to where (prosthetics) they gave me a pair of sneakers about a year ago I where them all the time its all I wear. well they want me to get fitted for another pair I have and I have been thru this before it doesn't work with my feet It starts giving me cramps and all kinds of stuff ( My feet are weird lol) anyway doctor shook his head and said this is senseless so sent them a note we will see lol

Well time to go make some banana bread

well came home and started cutting shrub back again and found another wasp for the wife to take care of ( I'm allergic to them) but at least I got it all cut back to the main trunk so once its gone I can start digging them out again.

I just received a Lionel CHEERIOS box car from you guys for my birthday.

I was really surprised. Thank you, to all of you, for it. You are a great bunch of friends.

I thought it was a box of grits from Chief. I almost got scared. LOL

I will post pictures in the next couple of days.

I told my wife that , now I need to build a layout in the kitchen, so I can watch my Cheerios car go by, as I am eating breakfast. She replied " Take your bowl of Cheerios and eat it in the train room."

Oh well........

Thanks again Guys,

Chuck

RT - For those leg and foot cramps, check out a cross-the-counter product called Calm. It is labeled as A Relaxing Magnesium Supplement. Works great for me. I use to have leg cramps at night, but not any more!

Life is good!!!!!!!  It is a miserably damp and cold 48 degrees outside.  We are not expected to get into the 60s for a few days.  The furnace is running and eating fuel oil at $3.89 per gallon, in May no less!  It rained all night with thunderstorms, woke me up, couldn't get back to sleep.  I am dead tired.  The dog wouldn't go out in the rain earlier this afternoon and pooped on the rug.  It is raining cats and dogs right now with rain forecast until at least Saturday, so I am going to get way behind on the lawn and the wife's "honey do" continued yard cleanup.  And the Red Sox swept the Yankees.  As I said, life is good!!!!!!!!!  Smile, Wink & Grin

Another sucky weather day, better than winter but not spring either. It's 43 right now, should be 70s. Regular gas is $3.95 here, I've been using E85 in the P/U but even that is $3.29 with less MPG. Banilla is ready for Brutus to follow the beacon...S.J.

Good evening all,

We had a pleasant day weather-wise today.  I did not have time to post this morning as I had much work piled up after being away for two weeks.  I didn't even scratch the surface yet either.  We had bratwurst for dinner tonight - it was delicious.  Afterwards, we played with the kids, read, and then put the kids to bed.  I was able to run the trains for only about 15 minutes tonight.  My replacement Lionel Fastrack Crossing Gates w/Flashers came in while I was gone.  I installed it Saturday and it is a very fun accessory.

Chief - Most of their trains were only two or three locos long, but yes, they did look old.  I wasn't there long enough to see any of the Amtrak passenger trains roll through.  I really enjoy the UP trains that run behind our house.

Doug - Happy Birthday (belated)!  I'm sorry I missed that.  Thanks for sharing the photos.

SJ – I’m almost afraid to ask, but why does your beacon have plastic on it?

All the Yankees haters and Red Sox fans can laugh now - we'll see who is playing in October.  And always remember the Yankees already have 27 championships.  How many does the next closest team have?

Good night,

Joe

Evening all!

Another beautiful day here - mid-70's and 50's at night. Tomorrow will be a little bit warmer and now rain predicted Thurs and Fri. It's all good!

Doug M - The coal loader is a beaut! I have one like it and as John F says - they are very cool! (BTW - I enjoyed the "enthusiasm" - maybe like they call the guy on Jersey Shores the "situation" you can call your son the "enthusiasm" or maybe the "attitude" - or "attidude?" - regardless he will love you all the more for it - right?).

John Hudson - we also went to four 10 hours days - followed by 2 more 10 hour days week after week after week....

Chuck - glad you like the surprise - and to prevent any other "surprises" - you better listen to SWMBO on where to eat the Cheerios in the proximity of the Cherrios boxcar - hate to think where the boxcar could end up?

BTW - DougsnottaG - they finally opened the "In and Out Burger" joints here. Had cars lined up around the block and a 2 hour wait for those in line inside and out the door to get served.

Have a great day tomorrow!

Regards, Roy

Good morning all,

Again not sure about the weather today.  Yesterday was long day.  Intestinal issues bothered me at work which was long enough as it was.  After unloading van at daughter's and picking up another load for tonight, came home to find internet was down.  Lucas' grades were bad last semester.  Dog was having issues as well.  Only bright spot was action at track as one of the small teams lead the speed chart (Tags) and Vitor was 6th quick.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning,

Rain the next few days here. Real busy here this morning. They are installing a fuel management system on the vehicles and equipment. Problem is the batteries are going dead. A lot of jump starts. What do you mean the garage service and tow trucks won't start. Nice Job.

Phone again.

Everyone have a great day.

Aloha. Life is good. The Real Sox lost again. Sunny and 46. A tad cool for this time in May. Installed the coal loader last night (close to the layout edge so if it screws up I can reach it) and it works great! Now to find some coal. LOL. I am jealous of the low gas prices you guys are paying... I like that, Roy, I'm going to start calling him The Attitude.

Thought of that but then said, "No."

Sunny and warm.  Suppose to be be raining.  Guess she has messed up the forecast again.  Lunch meeting in Rolesville with County Commissioner.  Then Town Board tonight.  If it rains, might get some trains action in.  If not, work outside or service pickup.
