Life is good!!!!!!!  It is a miserably damp and cold 48 degrees outside.  We are not expected to get into the 60s for a few days.  The furnace is running and eating fuel oil at $3.89 per gallon, in May no less!  It rained all night with thunderstorms, woke me up, couldn't get back to sleep.  I am dead tired.  The dog wouldn't go out in the rain earlier this afternoon and pooped on the rug.  It is raining cats and dogs right now with rain forecast until at least Saturday, so I am going to get way behind on the lawn and the wife's "honey do" continued yard cleanup.  And the Red Sox swept the Yankees.  As I said, life is good!!!!!!!!!  Smile, Wink & Grin

Life is good part 2

the cat has diarea and is pooping all thru the laundry room ( at least its trying to get to its box) Got shrub cut back ( did you get yours trimmed jack ( oh guess not its raining) Turned A/C off as its in the high  60's here today, Went to Gas station ( $3.69 a gallon but remmeber because of buying some items at local Grocery store I earned a discount so put card in wow now gas is only $3.04 a gallon 25 gallons later as truck was empty still $76.00 to fill but would of been $92.00 so I'm happy. got $.65 a gallon savings Life is good

RT - For those leg and foot cramps, check out a cross-the-counter product called Calm. It is labeled as A Relaxing Magnesium Supplement. Works great for me. I use to have leg cramps at night, but not any more!

I just received a Lionel CHEERIOS box car from you guys for my birthday.

I was really surprised. Thank you, to all of you, for it. You are a great bunch of friends.

I thought it was a box of grits from Chief. I almost got scared. LOL

I will post pictures in the next couple of days.

I told my wife that , now I need to build a layout in the kitchen, so I can watch my Cheerios car go by, as I am eating breakfast. She replied " Take your bowl of Cheerios and eat it in the train room."

Oh well........

Thanks again Guys,

Chuck

Got phone call ( automated) Friday evening telling me I have an appointment Tuesday ( tomorrow) at 9 am so I called and canceled then the appointment called me and said there mistake its June 17th not may 17th Which ii thought it was. Laughnot much going on here went to doctor today because I want a new pair of sneakers instead of the shoes they want me to where (prosthetics) they gave me a pair of sneakers about a year ago I where them all the time its all I wear. well they want me to get fitted for another pair I have and I have been thru this before it doesn't work with my feet It starts giving me cramps and all kinds of stuff ( My feet are weird lol) anyway doctor shook his head and said this is senseless so sent them a note we will see lol

Well time to go make some banana bread

well came home and started cutting shrub back again and found another wasp for the wife to take care of ( I'm allergic to them) but at least I got it all cut back to the main trunk so once its gone I can start digging them out again.

Good morning all,  Next to last space shuttle got off OK this morning.  Hate to see this program ending with no replacement ready yet.  Have to depend on the Russians for transportation to and from the space station.  What ya hoo figured this move out!

Rain showers predicted here tomorrow which is pretty late in the season for us.  It's cool here today.

Doctor appointment at 3:00PM today but no other outside business.

My layout is temporarily shut down until I get on my feet again.

Have a good week all,

John F, Our location is going to 4 -10hr days with Fridays off, starting next month for the summer. I figured time for Lancaster and the museum.  At the staff meeting I was told that I am working 4 - 10hr days plus 10 hours on Friday until we get caught up. I guess I might as well pay for the Chief''s SS. Sigh

Everyone enjoy the day.

Morning everyone,

Nice coal loader Doug.  I have one just like it on my layout.  They work great.  Sounds like you had a nice birthday celebration.

Yesterday we visited the Lancaster Kennel Club dog show.  Nice show and since it was indoors, even better, because it rained like the Heavens had opened up.  A dalmatian won the best of show award.

A misty morning with more rain on the way, looks like no break in the clouds until Friday. At least we have no flooding as do many parts of the country. Sold an HO train set on the bay and need to pack it up and ship it out. Bought it a few years ago for one of my grandsons when he was in HO. Before I had a chance to give it to him, he decided to give up his layout and quit HO. I kept it hoping he would change his mind, but did not, so it is sold. Have a few other HO items also to put on the block. A few structure kits and some odds and ends. Will do when time permits.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Aloha. Sunny and only 46 for the new mayor's inaugural a few blocks away. At least it's not raining. Let's see if this effort to post a few photos works. I road this C&NW GP at the IL Railway Museum on Sat.

and also this 94 year old CA&E interurban. It can really fly. Note the enthusiasm...And here is my birthday gift. Have to find some coal...

Good Morning,

Foggy, drizzle and just a dreary morning in Jersey. Rain is forecasted the next few days.

I have been very busy and not much on the train front. AF53, my son and I did check out a transformer and trolley that he bought and we did put some run time on his Pre War AF S gauge w/ O gauge trucks.

Time to get the Safety Huddle together.

Birthday Wishes Happy B-Day for the folks that I missed.

Prayers and Thoughts for all in need and on the mend.

Have a Great Day.

Good morning all,

Not sure what the weather will be in SE Indiana.  Busy week both at work and home this week with no rest scheduled at all.  Belated birthday wishes to Doug M.  Regular fare on dining car.  Good season ending to Desperate Housewives.  TBIL late tonight.  I left the keys under the seat again.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good night all.

Great news Ray.  Good recovery ahead.

Rich, hang in there.  Been there and done that.  Worked out to my good by being nice and patient.

Doug M, can't remember if I actually said Happy B-Day.  If not , you know I ment too.

Joe, why so many diesels.  Its CSX.  They run junky worn out diesels. Laugh  Reason I say that is: last week when I went to the lake house, about 10 AM I was driving along US 1 N and the CSX tracks run along with the highway.  Up ahead I saw what I thought was a woods fire.  Got near it and saw on old CSX engine and three cars headed north.  Engine was smoking so bad it looked like a woods fire.

All you workers [especailly Buckeye] get up early and get a good start so my SS will keep coming.

Chuck, I'm telling you.  A box of grits is scheduled to be delivered by "Brown" tomorrow. Whistling

Sleep tight.

Cloudy, drizzles and 50's today.

Happy birthday to those that recently had them.

SPman - doing the rehab is key for my wife's recovery from her knee replacement.  It probably is for your recent knee repair too.  Good luck.

Made a quick trip to Detroit the end of last week.  Went t o a reunion of folks I used to work with 25 to 30 years ago.  Good bunch of people.  I always enjoy these anual get togethers, when I can get to them.

Visited a couple of train stores while I was there.  Came home with both 2011 MTH catalogs and a 1996 version of the EMD generator car.  Couldn't pass the generator car up, as it was a good price to start with, with another 25% off to boot.

All for now.

Good evening all,

I arrived back home from GA on Friday night.  I spent yesterday relaxing with the family and catching up on some chores.  We had church today, more relaxing, and some layout time.  I ran trains yesterday and today with the kids.  I completed the latest Ameri-Towne building I bought a couple of weeks ago.  I am watching the Yankees to see if they can prevent the sweep.

Prayers for all those I may have missed.

Here is one of the videos I shot last week at the Folkston Funnel in Folkston, GA.  You have to click the photo to get to the video.  I will not post all the videos due to their size.  I chose this one due to the six-loco lash up.

Good night,

Joe

A fairly good day here on the hill. Fixed one of my antique radios so I can use it in the garage and ran the N-gauge on the new Kato track after I got off shift. Now another quiet night collecting photons.

RT - the Japanese train runs on 3 rail O-gauge track. My grandfather gave me the set in 1979 because I had no track for the Lionel #258. I can't remember the name of the manufacturer, but I guess they were fairly common. I was built right after WWII.

Traindood - turkeys in the front yard, cool! I've seen a number of them up here since they were re-released about 6 years ago. Once saw a whole family of 13 cross the road.

SPRay - glad to hear you are on the mend.

Anj - like the new avatar!

Off to find some breakfast

Happy Birthday again, DougCake

Chuck.....The asphalt road at the lake house broke up this winter, so save me some grits so we can patch the road.  Next week we will be using grits for what they are made for if we can stand their smell; patching the leaks in a sewage treatment tank.

Finally finished the TMCC and RS installation in my Williams BL-2 locomotive.  Tested it and and it seems to work fairly well.  Need to cut out a side window for better sound.

On our front, nothing special going on here!  Worked some this weekend, what started out as a rainy day, ended up pretty well.  Looking forward to possibly having a visitor this next week, so will see how that goes.

Good afternoon all,

It is rainy in SE Indiana.  Lucas and I loaded up some more stuff to take to his sister.  One more load will go up Tuesday and then we will be done with uploading that branch.  No action at the track today so SFR is still fast time...so far.  Weather will clear off tomorrow so plenty of track action hopefully then.  TBIL after Desperate Housewives.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
