A soggy good morning from central PA.  Looks to be more of the same for a few days.

Got the cat in the carrier without any wounds, so far so good.  Leave for the vets in about an hour.

The new MTH ready to run catalog has some nice tinplate stuff in the center, price is a little steep, but then what isn't today.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 64 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Last day of "stay"-cation, with a week's worth of honey-doos behind me.  Boat?  What boat? Sad  Hosted the family dinner yesterday, complete with egg hunt.  Lots of issues seem to rear their ugly head during these gatherings.  I'd just like to sit down and have a nice, peaceful meal.  Did run trains with two of the nephews - no pile ups.  I can tell the oldest boy (with the most interest) would love to have his own set of trains, but he realizes (like I do) that his 5 younger brothers and sisters would destroy them.  So, he gets to take as long at the throttle as he likes...Wink

Back to the grind tomorrow.

Morning to All,

Very busy Easter Sunday Church at 11:00, drove 90 minutes to sister and BIL's for dinner, went to funeral home for visitation of my Dad's friend's wife, the drove home 90 minutes in a monsoon complete with some small hale. Finally got in the door about 9:30 PM, off to bed by 10:15.  Today promises to be busy too. Have to get an oil change, have a contractor coming for some work out in the yard, and more honey-do's. Be glad to get back to work for some rest.  Son and his GF had a nice visit to North Carolina not far from Charlotte  at the GF's grandmother's, GF's  Dad was in from California.

Better get going. Hope everyone has a great day.

Take care,

Mitch

Good Morning

46 with rain expected.

No big plans for today, a Dr. appointment this afternoon. Just a followup not a new problem. Had a nice chat with Brutus and RT last night, I wonder if RT made it to work this morning as his truck needs repairs. A new week has begun so here we go...S.J.

Stay frosty,

Aloha. Grey and rainy here in Chicago today. Sounds like nice Easter gatherings were had. We arrived early and stayed late to help my inlaws - whilst the other siblings came late and left early. I agree, lotsa strange dynamics come up again at these gatherings, Fife  As a reward though, I'll be eating ham and potato casserole all week. Big Smile. Glad Minnie had a good Easter too, Laz. Ray, the parking is just part of the deal with going to a game these days - as we've said before - it's very very expensive. Thank goodness for minor-league ball games. Really enjoying pondering what to buy myself for my birthday in a few weeks...

Almost forgot: Happy birthday to Rich! Cake

Good Morning

We had a great Easter here as well.  I was really surprised however.  It was suppose to be "slight drizzles" until about 10:00, but we had rain here!  I can't recall the last time having anything other than a bright sunny day on Easter.

Chris and friends had gone to Vegas, for the weekend, thay got home safely, and had a great time.  So that was all that mattered.

After church, MIL & FIL, came over for breakfast, and we had a very pleasant day.  Showed them the acquisitions I had made at York, and explained all the festivities.

We also watched the special event on History channel regarding the Vatican City, it was extremely interesting.

As promised here are some pics of the engine I picked up at York.  Runs "pretty good", it was discounted due to the Road Name.

Glad to hear everyone had a good Easter!  Hope everyone has a great day, and good weather!

Lunch time:

It sounds like everyone had a great Easter. The Holidays are a lot different when there are no young children in the family but things are about to change for us with my wife's sister is due to become a grandmother next month. Believe me that kid is not going to be wanting for anything the way my wife is buying. My daughter wants to buy them a "Couch" diaper bag.

RT, Good luck with the truck. I replaced the alternator on our Explorer Thursday night and eventhough it came with a lifetime warranty it cost me $178 and I replced it myself.

Fife: It looks like we have another future Coffee Pot member in the make. Encourage him.

Shake & Bake: Nice engine and thanks for the photos. My favorite photo is of the roller operator with the MTH Firehouse in the backgrund. He must be reading CTT. LOL

Everyone have a great Day.

Good morning all, we had a nice Easter day here even though a little cloudy in the morning.  Also celebrated wife's birthday which is actually today.  We had a big Farmer John ham which is delicious.  Gave about half of it to DIL to take home.  Coconut cream pie for desert.  Yummy!  Went to  11:30 A M mass which was standing room only.  They put out extra chairs along the side of the church.  Wife got a little cloustrophobic the way we were packed in but overcame it with a little fanning.

Dennis, re the camera work you do at church, is that for broadcast?  Just wondered.

Doug, we have some good minor league near us too.  Much better prices and seating.  They have a deal on certain days where you can get a hot dog, cracker jacks, big drink and a ticket to the game for about $12.  Parking is free.  The whole thing is less than the Dodger parking fee.

D. Baker, glad you made it home safely from York.  That engine looks like something the Chief would like.  Is that smoke fluid or a burning wick in that thing?  Don, incedentally, I have been using the Bull Frog Snot on one of my diesels without good results.  One coat is OK but it does not fill up the groove where the rubber tires go.  It makes the wheels bumpy if you put too much to try to fill up the groove.  The MTH E6 engine has a difficult front truck to get at but I think I'm going back to rubber tires on that one.

Had some WBB NS executive f3 units on mail order but have just about given up.  I think my dealer is having problems.  Most guys already have them.

Have a good week,

Ray

Greetings From Overcast And 50 Taxachusetts,

Rain forecast for the rest of the day and most of the week.

I have benn off the air here on the Pot since April 14.

Wife, Daughter, SIL, the two Great Grandkids, and I took an impromptu, two vehicle road trip out to Elgin IL. to visit my in-laws (the great grandparents)  and to help them get things squared away.  MIL is finally making some great progress with her ankle wounds.  She has had to continue on antibiotics following a "wound management" clean out procedure and dressing.  The antibiotic regimen ( her third) is winding down, swelling is down, pain is down, color is good, and the sores are slowly healing.  Re-dressing will continue for a couple more weeks.

Worked on some "around the house" projects my in laws cannot do because of their age.  Outdoors and , indoors, wherever.  After much prodding and forcing of the issue, they came up with a list....and all of it was my FIL's wish list.  Made the mistake of harassing my MIL for what she would like to have done, for HER!!!  The next thing I knew I was taking down and cleaning chandeliers and light fixtures.....would have been easier to have thrown the fixtures out and to have replaced them if you know what I mean!!!!!

All of the lousy weather you guys have been talking about?  I drove through it in both directions, Westbound and Eastbound!!!!  Got so bad at one point on the way out we had to pull off the road West of Cleveland and wait out the hale, high winds, and one of the several torrential downpours we encountered to and fro.  A quick 2,400 miles out and back.  Almost had to stop again on the way back when passing through the mountains in Western Taxachusetts as the visibility on the Route 90 tollroad became quite hazzardous, zero visibility.....we were literally driving up in the clouds AND the rain.

Later, gang.  Gotta catch up on my POT goings on.

Jack.

john well that would of been cheap today. I ended up getting new thermostat, water pump, clutch fan, new A/C belt, air filter ( they used the serpentine belt I had which was new or theres would of been double of what mine cost. ) system flush, oil change, any way with labor and parts it came out $0.31 shy of $1000.00 including the towing charge. yes there prices where high on parts and then there labor charges but got a lot done and it was only like 3 hrs once got there. I knew I needed water pump, belt for A/C and system has never been flushed since I've owned the truck about 4 1/2 years so it now has new antifreeze in it also so with all that was done I don't think that is bad. Yes I could of probably done it for less myself but I don't have the tools and all. The belt for the A/C and air filter are same ones that where in truck when I bought it used from the dealer in Gloucester, VA. so how old they really where who knows but I would bet at least 5 years so yes they needed changing. been a good truck and hope to keep it for a while longer so its worth the investment.

got home about 45 minutes ago made my self a couple of burgers and just pulled a spice cake out of the oven waiting for it to cool so I can icing on it.

hope all having a good day mine actually is better than yesterday as didn't know what to expect even if they could get it done today. and if I was over there how would I get home and if I didn't go with tow truck driver how I would get there to get it. so it turned out to be an okay day other than the bill that I will have to live with lol just no trains for a while.

Just returned from a trip to the deep South.  The Chief had several troopers on the lookout for Buckeye along I-75, but they kept pulling over the wrong car!!! Big Smile  I found a few natives that could speak English and one that wore shoes.  I was able to ask a beautiful Southern Belle about the proper way to eat grits.  She stated that she eats her's with Elmer's glue to give it flaver. Laugh I tried a tablespoon with the Elmer's glue and she is right, they are much better!!!

The real reason for the trip was to find Spring.  Spring was being held up at the Tennesee-Kentucky border.  After kicking it in the butt, it is headed north.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Pat This truck has 2 belts one for the A/C and the serpentine belt you better check wifes car may be the same.

Yes, the wife's car has two belts, one for the AC, the other for everything else. The chev truck I had only had one belt, a serpentine for everything. That's why she insisted on a separate belt for the AC. Didn't agree with her, but I know better than try to explain it.

Evening all!

Had a very nice Easter Sunday with an afternoon buffet at niece's house on Lake Lewisville. Had a bit of drizzle and then nice breeze and dry for rest of the afternoon. Helped niece's husband and his buddy with a tractor fill an elevated garden plot with soil for tomato plants. Had to build a temporary sloped platform to allow the tractor scoop to reach over one elevated plot to get soil into the other. All went well.

Getting much needed rain here. Stationary front hanging here for days. Evening storms dumping water in the right places and have helpd to contain the Possum Kingdom Lake fires.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

Regards, Roy

Hello all, Craziness at work seems to be over. Only worked 8 hr to day. First tine since Feb 25th

Quick post on the way to bed

On Grits versus Scrapple. I’d rather have Scrapple, Preferably my mother-in-law’s recipe. (We haven’t butchered our own pig in 20 years)  Several local butcher shops sell an acceptable substitute. It must be sliced about ¼’ thick and fried well. Bacon grease is best followed closely by Lard. Topping it with Maple Syrup is a big plus.

88, Good luck with the adoption Angel said. Nice layout

Pat would like to do field work but field is much to soggy.

Chief, at the rate we're going it will be mid June before the garden is dry enough to till

RT , $1,000.00  OUCH

RI Jack. I'll bet your help is appreciated

Buckeye, glad you made it back safely

Still 76 degrees here, feels like 90 after all the cool weather. Storms predicted

First hillclimb of the season on Sunday. Need to get the bikes out of the trailer and check them out

Cnw1995    Saw on the news you have the Honor? Of paying the highest in the country for gas. Congrats on 22 years

Off to join my lovely Mrs in bed since Dancing With the Stars is over.

Good evening guys.  Was a good day today.  Got a fair amount done between work and family projects.  Got a photo that I had taken at the retirement ceremony for a friend from the USMC.  The executive pastor of our church (who is also a retired Marine) and the 3 star general who presided over the service.  We are sending the photo to Washington D.C. to get it signed as a present.

Ray, yes, our services are broadcast over a number of stations around the world.  We were just picked up by a broadcast service that will show it on a couple of stations in India and Ohio adding about 50 million more viewers.   Our service is also streamed on the internet.  So, yes, my camera shakes are seen around the world....Oh NO!  The broadcasts are about two weeks behind the regular service on most stations.

RT, hope your truck problems are behind you for a long time.  I have my old Bronco that I was just thinking needs to have her wheels turned a little.  I really need to run it more often.  It comes in handy for hunting and certain chores, but it has about 170K miles on it.  It is also good to have a spare vehicle for those times the other vehicles need work.

Sounds like everyone had a good Easter.  I heard several folks talking about how good the message was and had to agree.  Also heard that David Jeremiah in San Diego had a very similar message...so I guess they were all on the same track.

Have early morning bible study, so got to hit the sheets.
God BLess,
Dennis

Cloudy, 60's and rain today.

Sounds like everybody had a nice Easter.  I got laid out by a bout with the flu.  The Easter ham sure smelled good - that was about as much of it as I could handle at the time.

Brutus - glad to hear that the heavy weather missed you.

97 Probe - weren't you working on a switcher of some sort - an NW-2?  How is that coming along?

All for now.

Happy Day After Easter...

Saturday night vigil Mass was great, I assisted in the lighting of the Holy Fire (naturally!).  Went to my Brother's in Centerville, VA....was 3 hours going down.  The weather was beautiful and the meal was great.  4 hours home in the traffic and, back in Jersey, RAIN!

It was cloudy and foggy this morning but the sun broke through and it was a tremendous day!  Had a late lunch in New Hope, PA and walked around a bit.  Then went to Washington's Crossing, PA to take in the wonderful day until dusk.  Got home a bit ago.  Just a wonderful day.

Hope that all is well.  From some of the posts I see everyone had a Blessed Easter.  Good News...

Time to hit the bed, early day again tomorrow...more fun in the offing!!

Good evening all,

We returned from the in-laws around 6:30pm yesterday, but the site was a little slow so I didn't post.  I found an antiques and collectibles store near my in-laws' house while we were there visiting and I am happy with the amount of O trains and O items in stock.  I picked up a needed Ameri-towne building and almost walked out with a few more items.  I restrained myself and remembered my budget.  I will visit this store again as the seller of the trains seems eager to unload his wares.

This morning I spent about three hours at the firing range which is always fun.  We are fortunate our base's range is covered since it was raining today.  I had a dental appointment this afternoon to have a cavity filled.  Air Force dentists are fantastic: I was numbed up and finished in 20 minutes.

I had a quiet evening at home with the family and even had some train time with the baby - no pileups.

Mike C. - I'm happy when my wife gets rid of her junk from the garage because I end up with more layout space.

RT - I'm sorry to hear about your truck troubles.  I'm glad it is fixed now.

Chief - In four days this Yankee gets to invade Georgia.  Watch out!Mischief

Good night,

Joe

Good Morning,

Busy night last night. Wife has a problem with a new freezer at the ice cream shop. Had the help call after coming home from the Fire House and starting to get on the Tardis. The guy is coming this morning to look at it. Brand new under warranty.

RI Jack, May your MIL recover from the ankle wound.

RT, Look at the positive, the truck is fixed. Cheaper than a new one.

Buckeye, Thanks for rescueing spring.

SJ, Good news from the Doc.

Traindood, AF53, What happened to the Yanks???

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful, sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 80 today with sunshine. ( If it doesn't rain).

Today is a busy day. Lots of chores to do and a project to work on. I have some paperwork to do too. Maybe, later, a short nap.

Dining car is here with the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

71 here to get to 80 again.  Got my grass cut for the fist time yesterday and did the weed pulling.  Ran three miles, biked 4 miles and got truck and Jeep inspected.  Had my buddy MINNIE outside with me all day, she loved it.  Caught a goldfish out of the pond, but didn't eat it.

BUCKEYE, you saw one Southerner with shoes on?  WOW!!!

Stay frosty,
