Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
Lunch time,
SJ / Joe, My wife makes a great meatloaf also. It is a treat for us.
Traindood, You are right about the people voting in the school board elections.
John F, I am interested in doing vol. work at the Pa RR Museum when I retire in 22mo 2days 11.6hrs. I spoke to a woman there, she asked me my skill set and she wants me to talk to the shop supervisor. I will be heading there for my annual visits soon. Let me know when you are there.
Have a great day,
John
Good morning all,
Had a surprise visit yesterday from my brother from Virginia who is in Southern California on business. He took my wife and I out to dinner and we had a nice visit.
Well, I have finally found the elusive WBB NS F3 executive engines. Ordered from one place a while back that was unable to get them so now I'm getting an AA set from one source and a B unit from another. Due for delivery next week.
Went to doctor yesterday for check up. Triglycerides too high but other blood work was good. Old problem with the leg pain has returned but I told the doctor I didn't want to take anymore prednisone if I could avoid it. He referred me to an orthopaedic doctor where I have an appointment on Friday.
Just got my hard copy in the mail of the new DCS book written by Barry Broskowitz for MTH. Looks like it will be helpful for DCS problems in the future.
Warm weather has returned this week with high near 90 predicted today.
later,
Ray

Happy Birthday
Well the rain stopped before noon and it turned into a nice day at 72 degrees. I emptied the gas out of the snowblower and another week or two I can put the dog sled away. The meatloaf, mashed potatoes and baked beans were great like always. Banilla will be waiting for the thingy guys, it's still running as we lost the keys doing loop-d-loops...S.J.

Think I almost missed something here, so I will piggyback on Buckeyes hard work and say ditto to the happy birthday wishes. Have a good one.
Buckeye........are you sure this is Rich's birthday and not yours?
Rich......hope you have a good one. 56 is it? We should all raise a in the Tardis tonight in your honor.

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Hi guys - found the TARDIS running on the lawn with cartons of banilla and empty rootbeer bottles. I made the kids clean up and detail the command center and paid them each $10. I have the master keys, so we're all good. We'll find your copy somewhere, Jim!
Jack - great idea! HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICH!
Read some trains magazines today and goofed off. Hope all are doing well, prayers for intentions and loved ones.
TARDIS is ready, so let's get moving :)
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good evening all,
It was our usually late evening out due to Bible study. After returning home and getting the kids into bed, I watched the latest episode of The UFC I recorded. I didn't have any train time tonight but I need to make sure I run them tomorrow since I leave town Friday for two weeks.
SP Ray – I hope your future doctor’s appointments result in good news on your leg.
AF53 Ray – I’m glad you were at the game tonight – the Yankees won.
Good night,
Joe
Just got back from da Bronx. NIce game, short (2hrs and 11 min) and sweet!
Joe - No sweep as we are now 3 wins with no loses in games we had tickets. I think it's about time the Yanks give me a season pass!
Chuck - Your Indians are sure making things interesting this year for you, enjoy it as it lasts.
DougM - The other night the right fielder had two great catches as both will probably make ESPN's plays for the week. Nice job!
Don Baker - Don't worry about the pic, show em' if you got em'!
Ray SP - Careful with the bloodwork, I believe it tells more about us than we might give it credit, maybe a slight change in the diet. It worked for me as my last report came almost right down the middle in all aspects just by changing my diet. Anyone else on opinions about bloodwork?
Night All!

Anjdevil - happy birthday.
RT - That guy on e-bay had several items set up with low prices and high shipping. Just a few minutes were left to bid when I saw them - all with no bids. Figured that the market was taking care of any penalty - no sale.
Donated most of the day to a follow up knee doctor visit for my wife. Good progress, continue agressive therapy and pain management. He adjusted the chemestry on the pain management therapy today, adding a touch of valium to the mix.
All for now.
It is cloudy in SE Indiana. No soccer last night. Perhaps just as well. Intestinal issues again. Work was long. Bran muffins on dining car. Computer at home giving me fits. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Hi GUYZ,
2 hr delay for me this morning. Very high winds and big storms in the area. I'll take it. Got up to 80 yesterday with big storms here over nite. Ran a nice fast 2.5 miler with MINNIE after school yesterday.
Stay frosty,
Good Morning, 56 and raining,
Got in late last night from school. I finished the last night of Auto Body I and Monday is the last night for my Auto Body II. After that my Monday nights and Wednesday nights are free to September.
SPMan, Ray, Keep an eye on the numbers and good luck with the leg.
8n, Good news about your wife's leg.
MikeC., Good luck with the intestinal issues.
Rich, Happy belated Birthday.
I should make the Tardis tonight. We have a fresh batch of Banilla.
Have a Great day
The wind roared through Buckeyeland last night. Your heard it before you felt it. It sounded like hundreds of jet engines. We only had one small twister yesterday in Ohio. Prayers for those in Alabama who have endured several days of weather terror.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 62 degrees. Going up to 76 today with sunshine. Lots of wind last night.
Today is an easy day. I have the usual chores to do and then I can relax. Maybe run trains later. I'd like to spend some time outside if the weather stays nice.
Dining car is here with the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
Mornin' boys. Looks like , , and some of for the Mid-Atlantic region. Y'all can keep them twisties in the mid-west. Brent may be in the path this AM.
Good Mornin' Ya'll From Ominous-Looking Taxachusetts,
If yesterday's weather in the South and Midwest was not bad enough, the forecast indicates that more is on the way and with it perhaps even more devastation and loss. Batten down the hatches, boys. It looks like severe weather is on tap North to South for today, Upstate NY to the Gulf.
DougDG sent me a great recipe for Turtle Burgers, complete with pictures. I have to figure out how to make about 60-75 of these while keeping the guests Saturday night at bay. At 20-30 minutes oven cooking time "per" batch, this might be a challenge. Some in the oven and some on the grill perhaps? Solution may include more and for the throng of adults. May initially serve up ice cream to keep a lid on the kiddies too.
Stay safe today everyone.

Ray:
I know diet does make a difference. I started a true low carb diet 7 months ago. Since then I have gotten off blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood thinner Meds. My wife has developed lots of delicious healthy true low carb meals. Publishing a true low carb cookbook is in the future.
I lost 22 lbs, wife 38 lbs, daughter 42 lbs, her friend 32 lbs. and others the same.
Sorry about the sermon, but it works for us.
fifedog- Several twisties reported last night in the VA & MD berbs of Wash DC. We had one cross west to east 10 mi north of us.

Good morning
50 now, we had high winds and heavy rain overnight but no storms like in the south. Brutus, it must have been the neighbors that left all those banilla cartons and rootbeer cans in your yard. Maybe you need to have a talk with them. As for blood test and BP all my numbers are creeping up as I age but I'm still A-OK. No plans for the day. Have a good one...S.J.
Mornin' All.
Happy B'day Rich, as usual I'm late to the party.
With the beating that Bama took yesterday I hope drjohn is alright, haven't heard from him in a long while. All of you in the warning areas today keep your heads down and be safe.
If you can correct the bloodwork thru dietary changes go for it, but with the help and support of the family doc. I couldn't handle the cholesterol pills, falling asleep all the time and just dead on my rear when awake, so I made a drastic dietary change and lots of walking, 10 to 15 mi/day three days a week. Bad cholesterol went from almost 400 to less than 200 in 5 to 6 weeks, w/o the pills.
Museum tomorrow so need to figure what I'll be taking to run.

Healthy living is a big push for the company that I work for. We have many programs that range from quitting smoking to wait loss. It has made a big difference here already.

Happy birthday to Rich
Pat, AF Ray , Doug and others, thanks for the comments about the blood work. Pat, I know you are right. I was on the South Beach Diet once and it did bring the numbers down. I fell off the diet wagon when my leg started acting up and I did not feel like walking much. Then I went nuts on eating the wrong stuff so now it's back to the straight and narrow. First priority starting yesterday was no more ice cream. I'm also watching fat content in everything now and have gone back to egg beaters for breakfast. I want to do a lot more walking as soon as I can. Thanks guys for the encouragement.

Way to go Doug! Diet and exercise go hand in hand.
As to the family Doc, our opinion after many years of going to one Doc after another (we call them Conventional Doctors), it wasn't until we found a Functional Medical MD that we changed life style, lost weight, gained lots of energy, Etc. Functional Doctors treat the whole body, not just what ever you complain about.
Dennis - you have an opinion?
Was your drastic dietary change a change to a low carb diet?
SJ - Two words - CHANGE DIET! I am serious. Need Info, I have it.
Banks Pat what is a true low carb diet? I've been struggling with high Triglycerides for years. As well as taking metformin for Glucose
Banks:
In a True Low Carb diet you eat nothing with added carbs like sugar or starches. Only the sugar occurring naturally in fruits, vegies. No carbs in meat, fish and poultry.
Their are lots of so called low carb cookbooks out there, but every one we have seen use some added sugars in some of their recipes.
A true low carb diet tastes a lot better then it sounds. Recipes for pizza (no Flower), potato salad (no potato), Mac and cheese (no macaroni), meatloaf (with sugar free catchup). Even have a sugar free BBQ sauce.
