Begining to mist rain. Got parade over and dedication of ball field to the buddy that died several months ago. Kids might now get their games in but that can happen rest of the season. We had new midmount boom fire truck with 15 foot American flag flying from it.

Chief, glad you made it home safely. What's this I hear about a tornado in Rollsville?
D. Baker, who is the young man with you in the pictures? Is that Chris? Where are the rest of the pictures? Was there a group shot?
Went out to look at ATSF steam engine #3751 running today on fan trip between L.A. and San Bernardino. Train was about 45 minutes late account track work going on. I went with a friend who drove his 1950 Oldsmobile to pose with the train pictures. Train will lay over tonight in S.B. and return tomorrow. Riders will come home today on Metrolink commuter train. Tomorrow people will deadhead to S.B. on Metrolink and ride back on 3751. Cost for a 50 mile one way trip and deadhead back was $95. Glad somebody is willing to pay that.

Just got word from Chief, via DonB, that they did get hit with tornado, but he is OK. Power expected to be out for several days per power co. He did have a tree go down.
MichRR714 Lots of fun today at York. These pictures speak for themselves. Group photo to follow later by Laz I think...

No group pictures yet, but I have a question Charlie. Who are the two OLD guys with you in the second picture. I recognize Sr. James but don't have a clue on those other two OLD guys.
I did have a great week at York. Met up with a group of friends (including the Chief) and went on the OGR bus to MTH and the Tony Lash O gauge layout on Wednesday. Spent Thursday and Friday at the York TCA train meet and then today I guided my three California friends around Strasburg. Visited the RR Museum of PA, the ChoCho Barn, and the TCA Museum. A very busy and enjoyable four days. We had the largest group for the CTT photo session since we have been doing it. Hope Brent, Laz or Roy post the pictures as they are the ones with the pics.
Good Evening
We made it home safely. In and out of ran, some heavy, all day. a 9 hour drive. I did not buy any big ticket items, but found a few things that I had been looking for at a fair price. For me York was a chance to get away and enjoy a good time with train friends. It's good to be home but York is worth the trip just for the pleasure of getting out for awhile. I'm still buying so belly up to the bar for banilla and root beer..s.J.

glad to hear chief is alright. Still prayers out for all that have had to deal with that storm.
Another quiet day collecting photons at the 'scope.
Glad to hear Chief's ok after the storm in Roseville.
Dennis - the guy I'm training right now is a former Marine officer. As a former Seabee, we worked w/ these guys and while we like to joke around, we have a lot of respect for them.
Put a Kato N scale track set on hold at the LHS. Not that impressed w/ the track I have. Been reading up on DCC. Sure is fascinating. Nice to have another reason (or gauge) to support the LHS.

Good evening guys. Glad to hear Chief is doing well, but perhaps we should all lift a prayer or two for those affected. Read where an entire family was wiped out. As it was, we were spared most of the storms. Just had some heavy winds. Got called in again today, ended up doing 4 emergency cases. One different thing, wife had to take daughter to ballet recital practice. When I got called in, had to bring my son till wife could come get him. He stayed in the surgeon's lounge. When I was running between cases, I had the chance to talk to him about the different types of surgery we were doing and he could see all the action going on. Perhaps that will help him understand when I am gone for so many hours.
Well, considering the hours put in, it is time for bed. Hope everyone has a blessed night.Dennis
PS Bob, I have heard from several Marine friends and they all speak very highly of the Seabees. One of the guys who is in my Sunday School and who was a special invite to the ceremony is a long time Seabee, now retired.

Good evening all,
It is was windy and cold in SE Indiana but we did get the soccer games in today. Went to Palm Sunday service tonight. Spent several hours over at dad's on Friday. Found my grandfather's high school diploma. Very very very cool. Watched "Moulin Rouge" tonight. Very different kind of show. Up and down weekend for AJ's team so far. Started out 21st fastest, then 8th, then 19th and qualified 13th. Swiss Miss ahead of the Princess. Will Power on the pole. I had the regular fare for breakfast. TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
TORNADO!!!!! Has hit southern NC and move north. Hit Holy Springs [west of Raleigh], south and west Raleigh and moved to Rolesville. Came back down at the pond area [have not had time to check the pond area to see if trees down] and went around the edge of the field behind my house. Then it really did damage as older subdivision there. One tree fell through a mobile home and one chimney fell through the roof of one house [may be total loss as big chimney left a BIG hole]. One mobile home out of town but not far, the roof was gone and the ceiling was "sucked" out. I had some limbs and a lot of pinecones from from neighbor's pine trees. Then I noticed that my small apple tree was laying over. It had leaned since hurricane Fran. We now have power. Progress Energy sent a bucket truck and they rerouted power and cut out the section of Town that was down. This time, I heard the "train".
So far, no one hurt in Rolesville. Some in other areas no so lucky.
Later [Mayor just got home and have nothad dinner]
Real windy and raining here at exit 77 at the jersey shore
John - Thanks for posting info about my hospital stay and I want to thank those for thier kind thoughts. I came home this afternoon and all is well. Just need to take it as it goes for a while.
Fifedog - week #? -5. I was told the gallbladder was a pound. Anyway you can take it off you take it off, it all counts!!

Started out cloudy and cold. Cleared up later in the afternoon, but didn't warm up much.
Was impressed with the medical equipment company. They drove the 70 miles to deliver a new knee bending machine to replace the dead one. It sure helps to maintain the range of motion on my wife's knee.
Worked on making some door trim for the house today. Used the table saw, jointer, power plane, biscut cutter, belt sander, pneumatic nail gun ,and router. No body parts were damaged - a really good day with that many opportunities.
Sounds like the trip to York was a good one for those who went - dispite the grits!
All for now.
Chief - glad you are home and safe and sound, prayers for all hurt or lost in the storm. Sounds like everyone had a great trip and I can't wait to see all the pics and hear all the stories Today I did some laundry, had some good guy-time with my son while Char and our daughter went to the Baked Goods pottery place for girl-time. We had big storms last night and this morning, but it has been overcast yet warming up all day since then. It was better than the promise of wet snow overnight, although that was not expected to stick at all. TARDIS is ready and we have an offer of banilla and rootbeer, so lets get moving!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evenin' All.
Chief, Glad to hear that you and Pam are OK. Did the storm make the 4footed kids freak out?
Ray, Take your time and don't push it.
John, Haven't met a wood worker yet who hasn't "invested " some of himself in at least one project. Last time I got bit by my tablesaw I just loved the TLC from the ER nurse, and I quote as I'm standing there with my hand wrapped in a bloody tea towel "Power tools, right".
Sounds as though York was a success. Best thing is all made it home safe.
Good run at the museum yesterday, no gremlins other than having to replace a tire on the Challenger. All unpacked and returned to their allocated spots on the shelf. Now comes the serious work for next friday, time for the Easter Bunny Trains.

Well Pam called it. Just before she and neighbors went into the basement, she looked out and saw the squirrels leaving the big oak tree and taking cover on the ground. Pam said, "Its gong to hit us as the squirrels are running out of the tree." That is when the TV guy said, "Rolesville, take cover!"
Good night [reclinerized too long].
Chief as I said earlier Glad you all are fine and prayers to all affected by this storm. It has done a lot of damage I see where one lowes is no more. Be thankful ( which I'm sure you are) it was only your apple tree.
Morning all it's time for me to get to work again. Hope all have a good day
Mornin' boys. Happy Palm Sunday to all. Clearing, yet blustery here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Babysitted the niece's twin babies overnight. Good sleepers. Fried shrimp dinner at Mom's later on.
Chief - Glad you and yours are ok. I am a big believer in noticing what animals are doing "weather-wise". Good luck with the clean-up.
AF53 -
Ray glad your home did read it earlier but when I went to post some time later Brain infracturation happened so well it just didn't happen. glad your home and doing well.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 42 degrees. Going up to 55 today with a chance of rain.
Today is an easy day. A few chores to do and then I will relax and watch the Nascar race and ballgame on TV. Indians are still in 1st place. I hope it lasts.
Dining car is here and it's the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Good morning
41, gloomy. crappy weather for April. Granny's spring bulbs have bloomed in spite of the weather. I'm dressed for church this AM, our #5 grandson is being baptized today. For those of other faiths, babies are dedicated to the lord and baptizem doesn't come till they are old enough to understand what it's for. It appears everyone is home safe and the Chiefs outhouse made it through the storm so I guess all is well. ..S.J.
Hi GUYZ,
Glad everyone got back home safe from YORK. What a wonderful time had by YUZ GUYZ. I seemed to do more BSin then actual looking at trains. Had a blast! Thanks to all DA GUYZ there it was wonderful talking to each and everyone of YUZ. Here is some PHOTOs of all DA GANG for the annual photo. Sorry for the uneven pic. ROY you have to coach my wife PAM a little more on her photography?
Chief, glad to hear everyone was safe and sound. Certainly was a day of unsettled weather from north to south. We drove in and out of wind and rain all the way home from York.
This is a picture from Houghton Lake Michigan (where my cabin is) this morning. 2" fresh snow on the ground. Suppose I will not be driving north until Spring really arrives. Global warming? not in Michigan...

Good morning all,
Chief, relieved to hear that you are OK. Prayers for the folks in your area.
Laz, thanks for the group picture and the caption for who's who.
In the news this morning, a Catholic Church in our area a few miles from me (St John Vianney) was totally distroyed last night by an arson fire which has been confirmed now. That is terrible news for our community. The church is in an area called Hacienda Heights which is about 10 or 12 miles from me. The people in the parish are going to mass today in the parish hall which was not burned. The rectory was also saved. I knew the former Pastor from over there who helped out at our parish after he retired. I am sure the community will come together after this and rebuild. Prayers for the sick person who did this.
Got to run now,
Good afternoon everyone. Bit tired and achey as I didn't get enough sleep and I was on camera duty for church this morning. It was a great service and a wonderful Sunday School. They played a video of the crucifixion scene from "The Passion of the Christ" and had the song "Were you there when they crucified the Lord?"....it is powerful.
Chief, I am so glad you and Pam are safe. Most of the real heavy stuff passed a bit north of where we are. Last time we had a tornado come through our property, it took a dozen trees and snapped them off half way up. Kim was home with our son hunkered down in the center bathroom when the "train" came through. Scary. Just make sure you do a good check for any roof shingles or any other type of damage so you get the claim into insurance.
I would like to be taking a nap, but it looks like we are going to Chehaw park for the Heritage Festival. Mostly it is Cherokee Indian tribal set ups, etc. along with demonstrations of life back then.
Hope it is a good week ahead for each of you.God Bless,Dennis
