Good Morning,
Busy weekend for me. Did my front lawn, rake, aerate, lime, fertilize and seed on Saturday and then serviced the pickup. Sunday did my daughter's front lawn for them.
AF53, Ray, Now you know why I was asleep by 9:30 Sat. & Sun. I am surprised that you did not jump in and add the story that your wife's family has, that they are direct decendents of Robert E. Lee. Congrats on the mail car.
Dennis, Kudos on the kid's violin concert.
Prayers for Baby Sierra, Jack's MIL, Char and everyone else in need.
Have a Great Day,
John
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a warm and cloudy 70 degrees. Going up to 77 today with rain coming.
Today is a busy day. Chores and grocery shopping. The prices keep going up on food. Gas prices here are at $3.89 a gallon. No inflation, huh?
Indians won another game. Maybe Grady will be back soon. They must be eating Cheerios, Ray.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck

traindood Evenin' fellas and gals: Just watched the Bo Sox crush those overpriced, overcovered, overwatched, overtalked about bums from the Bronx. Yipee!! Now i will go to sleep happy. Over and out!!
traindood....Boston's worst season start since Ted Williams played in 1945, after all of the payroll $ and the national prognostications that Boston was the favorite to win it all this year. Now 2-7. The Red Sox stranded a zillion guys on base last night, over half in scoring position. Baltimore in first place, Fife?
Two of three from the Yankees.....we'll take it.
Rain and maybe 70 today.
Later, gang.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Aloha from a gradually-clearing and warmish Chicago. Nothing like the 80s of yesterday - the teen actuallly turned on the a/c whilst the bride and I were at 42nd Street. It was a great show. The air went off when I came home. Looks like a busy week as we'll celebrate my bride and the teen's birthdays. Prayers for all safe travels to York. Wish I could go someday. Here's some for Buckeye's next birthday.

Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
Mornin' Fellas.Busy weekend. Started rebuilding the second level on Saturday and found that I need 2 packages of 1/4 O45 curves, made the treck down to the LTS and there was an event in town requiring me to park 2 miles from the LTS... hoofed it over, picked up the necessary track (sans 1/4 O45s which I NEED to finish the work). So spent yesterday morning working on the third level... the area where the first to second level grade meets the second level and where the Atlas Pratt Truss bridge spans the valley... well last weekend I realized I would need a longer span, so I picked up Atlas' double track through girder bridge... holy heck is this think heavy!!!! well I was able to get the new bridge in alignment, and get one abutement built. Next up is to build the second abutement (which will also be a partial tunnel portal). Then start work on the abutements for the truss bridge. I have decided that before I put the bridges in place permanently I will do the scenery work around them. Will force me to do the scenery before I continue laying track. So I will be working on scenery and track placement from two directions!Biggest improvement - I was able to eliminate 4 switches that comprised the upper level reversing loop. I'll post pics to the newly designed trackage before I continue much further - but I need those 1/4 O45s first...
Lunch Time,
Beautiful day in Edison, NJ,
SJ, Charlie, Have fun in Strassburg. One of my favorite places. I am there a "few" times a year. The Red Caboose Motel, that is where we stay if the wife does not come with us. It is the "Guy's Stop". If you are in area for dinner, Miller's can not be beat. Plain & Fancy is up there too. I am planning on doing vol. restoration work at the PRR Museum when I retire. They liked my background.
JEFELECTRIC, John, Congrats on the grand daughter's 18th birthday.
Chuck, The price of gas is climbing all over. I paid $3.49 this morning. The Sunoco up the road was $3.55.
Charlie, Why was everybody keeping an eye on the guy in the blue plaid shirt in the video?
Traindood & DJ, you guys ain't making any points with AF53. He is a diehard Yankee Fan. On second thought, go ahead, I bust him all of the time. He is thick skinned and enjoys giving it back.
Sarah, di well with the feeding tube. She may be coming home on Friday if all continues to go well.
For everyone going to York, Enjoy and Be Safe.
Back to work,
ChiefEagles Buckeye Riveter: Roy.....I think my birthday is this Wednesday. He does not have a brithday. He was hatched. Did service JD lawnmower this afternoon. Sun came out and warmed up good. Did not mow though. Ready to go tomorrow AM. SPMan: Good morning all Chief, you know your history well. I know Gen Johnston's story too. You were right about Sherman being overuled for the lenient terms he offered Johnston. There is a story about how Johnston removed his hat during bad weather when Sherman's funeral procession passed him. He was told that at his old age he shouldn't do that and well, he did get sick and died of pneumonia shortly thereafter. Johnston said "If it was the other way around, I'm sure Sherman would have removed his hat". So I guess Johnston thought there was some good in him. Ray Ray, I'm one of those Rebs that does not dislike Sherman. He was in the Army and was given orders. He followed them. Buckeye is just trying to get another one of my fabulous brithday gifts I send him.

Good Evening
59 and cloudy
Packed and ready for Charlie in the morning. He is taking a laptop so I am hoping to be able to check in here at least in the evening. Have a great week and banilla will be ready..S.j.
Evening all
Had a busy weekend even with a communion service to the prison being canceled due to misbehaving inmates.
Got some honey dos done, replaced the roller on the patio door, plugged a tire w, here the bridepicked up a screw, and replaced the lampsocket on an overhead fan. Wifey thanked me.
There was a show on A&E about the drugs in our county. Show did not begin to show how bad it really is. It is no wonder we can't sell the house we fixed up.
Happy Birthday Buckeye
Good night and God bless
Jim
Sunny and mid 60's today.
Spent most of the day with a follow up visit with my wife's knee surgeon. Adjusted her pain pills and scheduled a 'manuipulation' later in the week to break up scar tissue. Basically, they will knock her out then MAKE the knee bend.
All for now.
Good evening folks,
It's been a few days since I posted. We have been busy. Our 7y/o son had a baseball tournament which lasted all Saturday; his team won first place and he played very well. The in-laws visited with us for a couple of days as well this past weekend. I've been doing odds and ends around the house and running errands with the family. I took this week off of work so I will be caught up with the house chores by tomorrow. I plan to work on the layout a little and maybe even widen it a foot or two. I am also going to hang a display shelf tomorrow. I have two buildings I need to install lights in as well.
I was catching up on the posts and noticed a couple of Yankees haters here. It's a shame jealously turns folks into such people, especially when their team took quite the thumping tonight. At least AF Ray and I can remain calm and know our team will win plenty of more games and championships.
SJ and Charlie: Have a safe and fun trip to York.
Prayers for all those in need, especially the kids and wives.
Good night,
Joe
Hello everyone!
Fife - Going Thur night to see your birds against my YANKEES.
Okay traindood and DJ - You guys almost sound like Giants or Dodgers fans. Just curious, but do you or did you ever root for any team, and I don't mean "anyone that plays against the Yanks", again just curious to see where you're coming from.
Good night all,
Chuck - Cheerios or not they are giving you fans some good times and that's what counts.
John - I was thinking about mentioning the lineage from Robert E. Lee to my wife but wasn't sure how to bring it up without getting caught in the middle. But it's kind of neat when you think about it. Even generations later the name Lee is in many of thier names, mostly as a middle name like in my oldest.

Evening all!
Getting ready for trip to York tomorrow. Have to leave the house about 11, flight at 2. Get into BWI about 6:30, drive to York (about an hour). Looking forward to seeing the gang!
Busy day today but all went well and I got my projects finished so I can leave with a clear mind.
Had some nasty storms here last night. Four small tornados did some damage, but the golf ball size hail did a bunch more. Interesting - the vinyl/plastic fences folks are starting to put up around here look like swiss cheese after the big hail pounded it.
Supposed to be nice here for the rest of the week and into the weekend - but York has rain predicted anywhere from 10% to 100% every day starting tomorrow through Sat. Just means we will have to spend all our time indoors looking at trains!
If I do not get back to the forum until we return, have a great rest of the week all!
Regards, Roy
Got home from the office at 11pm. Tried to cram a few days work into just Monday...
Car is fueled, bags are packed and we will be heading to York in the morning.
Get ready SJ here I come!

Good night all. Bills paid. Busy day. Town stuff and then rebuild stuff. Finally got to mow the grass and disk the garden spot. Side dressed and put dirt to cabbage plants. Suppose to be raining by morning. Guess I will have to stay in tomorrow.
Safe trip to all going to York. Shake and Bake called to brag he was getting to airport to fly. Poor me. If any of you see the guy who had the remote controled lift gate for layout. Get his infor.
Sleep tight.

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI but cooler with temps near 60. Did financial stuff last night. Work was good yesterday. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Demay, Joe, Congrats on your son's team win. You must be proud of him.
Everyone going to York, Have a Fun, Safe Trip.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
Hi GUYZ,
54 and rainy here was a beauty of a day yesterday, got to 80. Rest of week is to be rainy save for Thursday. Oh well looking at trains indoors isn't too bad?
Have a safe trip all YUZ GUYZ flying and driving in to PA. See YUZ Friday.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill,,,,
It is a cold and rainy 42 degrees. Going up to 50 with rain all day. Yuk.
Today is a busy day. I have some chores to do and an errand to run later, if it ever stops raining.Ground is soaked and flooding in the low fields is starting. Good thing we are on a hill.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Morning. Where the rain????? Fertilized and no rain yet. Busy day. Chat later.
Morning all. Chief, got your rain down these parts. We have had the second heavy rain in the week. Has been good for the farmers and landscapers, but taking it's toll on the local pine trees. Had our weekly bible study this morning, at 6. When I am on call, it makes for a very long day.
Hope you guys heading to York have good weather. When we were up that way, a little rain can make for some sloppy walking. Also, if anyone finds a CTT Divco truck, I'm still looking.
Got a long day, so I had better get to it. May each of you have a blessed day,Dennis
Aloha. Sunny and cool on this long day - safe travels to all Yorkies. Glad your son did well, Joe. DJ, I share Tyler's woes about paper writing; you're right, he's got to get used to doing it himself. Dennis, I just saw a collection of Divcos at a die-cast kiosk over the weekend. I'll see if I can track down contact info... Took the boys out for ice cream and to buy mom a present with their hard-earned cash. Listened to the White Sox on the radio blow another one. Birthday week for the bride continues...
At Town Hall. Got to make an emergency trip out of town. Explain later.
It's going to be great weather for working outside the house and in the garage. Today's high is 79 and very sunny. I have some weeds to pull and a shelf to install and I'm looking forward to it. The wife will be heading to the nail salon later on so I will have to keep an eye on the baby for a while.
Thanks John and Doug. I'm very proud of my son. His skills are improving every time he plays and best of all he is enjoying the game. We're trying to convince him his game will improve quicker if he eats more vegetables and healthy proteins, but he isn't going for it yet.
traindood: I know many people who feel as you do. Fortunately for me I was born in '74 so I only knew the true NY team. Your remembrance of a great franchise was fantastic and your line about Hitler, Stalin, and O'Malley was even better.
