Good morning all,
It is cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the 40s. Long day at work yesterday. Only hour of soccer last night. Had a second showing on house. Oldest daughter was down yesterday to help wife with "stuff". Be interesting to see what is new in Lionel catalog. Quick post as I overslept this morning. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Cloudy and about 40 today. Sure will be glad when the sun comes out again.
Jim - I'll agree with SJ. Those 600 series switchers are nice when you get them running.
All for now.
Howdy guys - talked to my Dad tonight. He's doing the bachelor thing while Mom is helping with the baby in Des Moines. He had PT today on his knee and is doing really well. I'll go over Saturday and make him some good food, or pick up something good for him. Not fast food, but a nice meal.
Char is doing well at work, although she is a little tired at the end of the day. She's been working 5 hours each day for 4 days this week. Next week, I think she will be on 4 hours a day for 5 days? She found most of her stuff, except for her old chair
Finally got caught up on Fringe - what a great show. Glad that it has been renewed for another year.
Bon Voyage, Doug!
TARDIS is ready, so let's go!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Long day/night again at work so we all met at 8:30 at Applebees for a late dinner (thanks to SJ for that). Nice to finally have CTT running at normal speed for a change.
Joe - I've been going to the Stadium since 1973 and the past 4 years more than normal, since the kids got me a partial season ticket plan for Christmas back in 2007. Since then we've been renewing it and three of us go at least 12 time a year. The best way to describe the new Stadium is this, I've never been to a place where there are 50,000 people and it's not crowded.
Brutus - Good news seems to be coming your way! You deserve it. Good luck with your wife getting back to work and congrats to your new niece!
Fifedog - Don't get down on yourself. I'm not doing as well as I wanted, no excuse but with working 11 hours a day when I get home I just want to chill out on this thing in front of me and listen to some tunes and maybe play a game or two.
Jim - I'm like RT and SJ. When I see something is from that seller I look long and hard at the item and I almost always say no thanks. But good luck with the rebuild.
That's all folk!

So tired of the nasty weather. Dusting of snow this evening on the way home. I am so so ready for warm weather. If the weather keeps up as it is going we might need snowshoes for the York Meet. March can't get out of here soon enough. Plenty of strange stuff going on.

Good Evening guys....
Got off the phone with SJ a little bit ago.. I was venting my excitement over the new Lionel catalog which is supposed to be online tomorrow morning at 9am. Looks like some good offerings.

Jim they are good engines so if you can get it running I'm sure you can fix the paint..The price was good if it's repairable.

SJ,
You'd think I would have learned that by now. I should've left it, but I can't stand to see this stuff in this shape left alone. Right now, I am in the hole $82 on this, but I want to fix this one. I've made bigger mistakes, trust me.
Good Evening
37 and clear
Jim I don't trust that seller, he peddles too much junk, but then you have bought there before so you already knew. No big news today so banilla is waiting for brutus and the thingy...S.J.
RT,
I've had good and bad come from them regardless of what I bought. My Flyer SIT 312 came from them, and it is in great shape. I was going to return this 624, but I didn't want any of the hassle that I've read about. I first saw this on ebay this past Sunday night, and I decided to sleep on it. Looked again before work Monday morning and had myself talked out of it (you know where this is going). I couldn't quit thinking about it all morning so I sacrificed my lunch and made the 15 minute drive home on break to get it. I've started a thread. I should've had lunch.
green97probe SJ, Congrats on the 52 years. Brutus, Congrats on the birth of your niece. No job news yet. I had a Lionel 624 C&O NW2 switcher waiting for me when I got home from those folks in Cynthiana, KY. It's bad. Real bad. Not sure if this will be a rebuild, restoration, or part out. Thread to follow asap.

The only thing I will buy from them is non-motorize equipment.

Oh my, it is snowing like crazy here in this middle part of Ohio - where they seem not to have heard of the Internet or cell service. Well, at least this truck stop looks like it might work. Did pace a long CSX freight out of Gary, Indiana. John, your house sounds nice. my folks house had cedar siding - it was not only expensive, the woodpeckers loved it! LOL.

Mornin'/Afternoon All.
First post in several days, been really pooped after some very busy days. Regular museum run friday, kids club fun run saturday then mucho honey do's sunday/monday.
Fife_ Very sad sailing day, skipper's intent was really good but sounds as if some errors were made.
Lots of "Congas" due to a multitude of potters as well as alot of . These both tend to remind one to slow down a little and smell the flowers, even if they are covered in snow as long as it ain't yellow. on me.
Really enjoyed the CTT spread on Pete V.'s layout in the latest issue. Learned yesterday that he and our current club president flew together in the Navy.
Anybody having a problem trying to check the "Modern" inventories at Trainz dot com. I keep getting a "server error message check back later", been going on for quite a while now. E-mailed Trainz and got no response yet.
Procrastinated enuff, got more stuff to do.
P.S._The site was indeed very slow last nite, was going to check in but after waiting for it to load I gave up and went to bed. Must be all those solar panels producing energy after sundown.

Good morning all, suppose to be 83 degrees today, no foolin. Maybe Spring has sprung out here.
D Baker, are you still undecided on York?
Train meet this week end but too many things going on. Might get there late if at all.
Gas here is over $4 a gallon in some places.
later,

Lunch Time:
Jack, My house house has natural cedar shakes and the garage has cedar planking with painted wood trim. When we built the house in the 80's, that is what my wife wanted and it does look good. Now they have the vinyl siding that looks like the siding on the house. About every 5 years I have the house pressure washed and resealed an the trim redone. Every so often I think about getting it sided and I then decide against it.
Getting tired of these snow forecasts. What happened to global warming?
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
Have a great day,
John
lionroar88 Note to self... don't read posts while scrolling. I was doing that when I read SJ's post below sir james I: Good Evening It made 40s today, still less than the average. We had a nice meal at Applebees this afternoon, that's what granny wanted for 52 years stuck with me. I thumbed the Mags I haven't read and the OGRs will probably go fast but I saw some stuff in CTT I want to spend some time with. Banilla will be ready for the thingy so come on by...S.J. I read it as "We had nice mice at Applebees"

Brent......after reading your post, my mind conjured up an image of the Chief catching the mice and making a pot of Southern stew with them, plus a side of grits covered with Red Eye gravy. Nightmares followed.
SJ........ 52 years? WOW!!!!!! The Pope texted me last night, is thinking of fastracking the cannonization of your wife. Congratulations to you, and my condolences for your wifey.
Brutus...... one good piece of news after another coming from you. Char's returning to work. The birth of your niece, Sophie. Your train score. And not mentioned, your Dad's recovery with the knee. Spread your karma!!!!!!!
AF Ray.......yahoo on Sable's continued recovery!!!!!!!!!!! What a relief!!!
JimSP.....not to worry. I still have one 8' x 2' x 9" deep strip of snow in my back yard. Local meteorologists hastily trying to find a replacement for the snow warnings, dusting off the old scripts for Spring flooding now to fill in the gaps for their daily "news" contribution/barrage.
DougM.......how on earth did you get the wifey to grant you additional real estate under roof for your layout? From the sounds of things, construction of your layout expansion commenced within minutes of her "land grant."
Chief........we also looked and are still looking into vinyl siding. Folks in New England generally find wood clapboard siding both traditional and quaint. The painters find it lucrative. But I find it a pain.....long term, an expensive pain. I want to eliminate the maintenance and perpetual repainting. And I had an opportunity last Fall to mitigate some of the additional cost of vinyl by using the contractor's available color inventory and his work crews that were running out of work as Winter approached.. Everything came to a grinding halt when the wifey found that absulutely none of his available colors were acceptable.
Joe.......hope your wife's parents don't overdue it. A major relocation can be quite taxing, physically and emotionally.
Joe and SJ......Yup.....the CTT forum the past few nights was unusable for me as well, but none of the other sites I visit.
DonB and SubmmBob.........keep passing that warmer air our way.
Later, gang!!!!!!!!
Jack.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
It is quite foggy and rainy today; the high is 54. I guess the warm weather doesn't come back again until tomorrow. I had Raisin Bran and coffee for breakfast. I have a slow day planned at work today, and tonight we have Bible study.
John - I guess Ray and I will get along very well since I am a huge Yankees fan. I went to many games when I was kid. I have not been to the new stadium yet, but I was able to take my son to a game during the old stadium's last season.
It's time to get back to work.
Joe
Mornin' boys. Don't know how to describe our weather...ain't spring-like. Which is probably why...
AF53 - Week 3) 0 loss.
sirjames - Here's to another 52 years of banilla every night.
dougnotta - Been following that sailboat accident.
Good Morning
20s now, 40s later.
What's with this site after dark?. They roll up the sidewalk and turn off the lights. The last 2 nights I fell asleep waiting for a down load. Oh well on to today, Krogering this morning and afternoon is not here yet. Happy Hump Day. S.J.
Edit: hmm still slow this AM as well
A quick Aloha to welcome Sophie to the planet. Glad your bride is getting back to work too, Brutus. Happy Anniversary to you SJ! Going to bring the teen to Ohio on a quick visit to his sister and to check out her school as a possible-college for him as well. Not looking forward to any snow... , Is it almost Friday?
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 33 degrees. Going up to 45 today with a chance of rain.
Today is a busy day. I have a project to work on and the usual chores. Some paperwork, later. then, I can relax and get a nap.
Dining car is here from"Points West". It is Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
Hi GUYZ,

Stay frosty,
laz57
Good Morning,
Brutus, Congratulations on your niece's birth. May Sophie Marie have a happy, healthy life.
Joe, Don't encourage Ray with the Yanks. Anything Yankees, he has it. Wait, my wife and I are responsible for some of it.
AF53, Ray, You know that I have to tease about the Yankees. I have school tonight, but I think Doray is home. Thursday night I am meeting with the financial planner with his plan for my RETIREMENT. 23 months can't come quick enough.
Time for the Safety Huddle,
It is cloudy in SE Indiana with temps into the 40s eventually. Busy night last night running errands. Wife had a CASA class as she is getting ready to handle another case soon. Very busy day at work, and even accomplished a few tasks. Application keeps crashing and there are no support people here this week for it. Go figure. Neat train, Brutus! I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL after soccer scrimmage tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Lots and Lots of acknowledgments are in order ! Prayers for recently lost family members, friends, pets, and health issues as well.
Then there are the Birthdays, (much more enjoyable, most anyway except Buckeye has too many!).
And Congos for jobs and tasks well done ! (Brent)
But, I've been so concerned about the weather I can't think of much else. (So self centered, I know )
Sturgeon-Phish Evening all They are calling for snow tonight. Great. I am wanting SPRING! Not much new around here. Going to read some then off to bed. May God bless Jim

Went to install the CP today, and had nothing but problems! The basic system was being extremely difficult. Spent about 5 hours working on it, just to get it back to where it was a week ago. Will try again tomorrow.
Later,
(Suppose to be in the 80's on Thurs, 2-3 days to get to NM, a couple more to cross TX, then 2-3 to cross Ohio Valley, maybe a chance for resonable weather in a week and half, to two weeks.
Don
Congratulations on the addition to your family, Uncle Brutus.
SJ - happy anniversary.
Not much else today.
Good evening all,
The site is moving slowly again; I know it's not my computer or connection because all other sites are working properly. Maybe it's because so many people are on the site at this time. We had tacos for dinner and just hung around the house afterwards.
SJ - Congratulations on the anniversary!
AF Ray - I will probably miss the first game since we will be driving back from Broken Arrow at that time. I could use a trip to the Bronx about this time of year myself. MLB opening day is coming.
Good night,
PS - My new niece was born last night at 10:16 PM. Sophie Marie Blanner came in at 7 pounds 6 inches and brown hair
BRENT - Big thanks buddy, you are the best! Just can't get over all the details on this train, so cool! Can't wait to see what you picked up for yourself
Wife went to work today and got her badges all figured out and stuff. Tomorrow she should get a desk and get back on the computers and all that stuff. Has to pick up a new rear taillight cover - the plastic cover part as someone doing a u-turn clipped hers on the van. No other damage really, so that is lucky. The plastic piece is over 100 though - wow! What a rip-off!
Banilla sounds great - just got off the chat with the guys and wishing SJ a happy one. I'll catch all you guys in a minute with the TARDIS and we'll go have some fun
