Good morning all,

It's been a few days since I last posted: I have been busy with house chores and then the site was down.  I read where some of you are enjoying some wonderful winter weather.  Our spring-like temps went away Sunday when it dropped back down into the 40s and yesterday it hit the low-50s.  I believe today's high is in the low-60s so it is warming up again.

On Saturday we went to a model train show in Stillwater.  It was small, but a bit larger than I expected.  There were two club operating layouts on display: one G and one N.  I have seen them before at the OKC and Tulsa shows.  They are very nicely done layouts.  I was only at the show for an hour or so and did not buy anything.  I believe there were some deals to be had, but I was specifically shopping for buildings or Fastrack turnouts.  The only buildings at the show were Plasticville: the new ones were overpriced and the used ones needed a great deal of work.  No one had any Fastrack turnouts for sale.  Oh well, there is another show next month here in Enid.

On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, I spent parts of those days cleaning the carpet, rugs, and van floor mats with a Bissell cleaner.  It was a slow process due to the many required water changes, but the result it nice and the wife is happy.  Needless to say I did not accomplish any layout work this past week, but at least I ran trains a couple of the days.

MIke C. - I'm sorry for the loss of your dad; I hope you and your family are coping well.  I blew the whistle and horn on my engines for him last night.

Brutus - Please accept my condolences on the loss of your aunt.

Good day,

Joe

On behalf of my immutable laws, I apologize, Brent. If you were closer, I'd inveigle you try something less expensive and better tasting with a slight scent of peat

MikeC.......I have been off the air since Friday and just read your sad news of your Dad's passing on Sunday.  Please accept my humble condolences for your loss and continued prayers for you and your family.  God has welcomed your Dad into a far better place, and now he along with your Mom await the day when you will be with them again.  I will join the others in responding to your last wish for your Dad, one last blast of the train whistle as a final salute to him and his life.

Morning all!

Sunny and 46 this morning. Might hit 60 today, then warms up for the rest of the week. Weeds are starting to grow with all the warm weather we had the past 7 days.

Have a trip to Billings, MT, this week but they have snow predicted every day, so I do not know if the trip will be affected or not. The high temps are 0 - 3.

Daughter drama last light. Son drama also. It never stops.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Regards, Roy

Mornin' Fellas

JT - You could have one of them if you ramp up your stalking efforts regarding Ms Boysenberry! Surprise

I am really upset with Mr Murphy and his accursed Law! On Sunday I woke up, watched the news, found out they were calling for <1" of crap snow last night through this morning, so I put the snowthrower in the shed, woke up yesterday and watched the news, found out they 'revised' the forecast and we were to get 4-6"... The Q looks at me, smiles, and says 'Looks like you're getting the snowthrower out!' Bang Head Wake up this morning to 8" of crap snow.

Stopped at a local wine and spirit shop on Saturday. Asked if they could get my favorite rum... they look it up in the book... $75.00 per 750ml THEIR COST... they would sell it for $100 per 750ml!!!! But they could get me a case for $1,000.00. Looks like I need to revert back to Plan M or plan another trip to Antigua!

Aloha. Snowy here in downtown. Only a inch or so at the homestead. We'll see how much falls before I get home tonight. Looks like a mix of ugly weather all week. Ah well. Condolences on your aunt, Brutus.  Is Buckeye still celebrating?

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 18 degrees. Rain froze last night and ice covers the outside. No  snow. Going up to 32 today with a chance of flurries.

Today is an easy day. I have a project to work on and the usual chores to do. Later, I will relax.

Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Hi GUYZ,

15 and about 3 inches of SNO HI O.  I broke out the snowblower, first time this year just to see if it works.  Made fast work of my driveway and the neighborladies driveway.  Gotta 2 hr delay so life is gooood!

Stay frosty,

Good Morning,

I woke up to an inch or so of snow and it was still falling when I left at 4:30 AM. The farther North I went the less snow and not a speck at work. The temp. is 21 going into the 30's back down to the teens tonight.

My son and I went to the Train Room in Point Pleasant yesterday and dropped off 2 TMCC engines for repairs. No sound on one and the rear couples opens by itself. The young man in the shop seemed pleasant and knowlegable and the prices are in line. Nice Shop. I will post about the results of the repairs.

Brutus, Prayers and Thoughts for your AuntAngel

Fife, My wife told me to thank you again. She will get the particulars from my niece.

SJ, I had Homemade Banilla last night.

Everyone, have a Great Day,

Good Evening

Well here I am. The roads are still a mess and we haven't seen a plow on ours yet. lots of slippin and sliddin out front today. We were told it would be 3 to 5 I measured 8 in the driveway. On the other hand those that did get less got freezing rain and downed power lines. Brutus the banilla is waiting and the landing pad is clear...S.J.

Thought Yankees had some magic skill and could drive in a little snow like that. Whistling

Good night all.  Cooler tomorrow but bounce right back to above seasonal temps.  Need rain.

Sleep tight.

Good evening all,

It is a rainy cooling day in SE Indiana.  Missed the Snohio that was aimed at us as the Chief must have been aiming the cannon.  Hit the northern part of the state instead.  Brutus, sorry to hear about the lab hassles and also about the passing of your aunt.  Busy day taking care of "stuff".   Thank you again for all the support.   I had the regular fare with an added donut on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Howdy guys - had a nice day off.  Visiting nurse came today and tried to do blood work on my wife, but was totally incompetent.  So, we went to Quest Diagnostics for the blood work, which put about a 2 hour crimp in the day.  Son spent some more of his birthday money and in fact now owes me $6, but I was tired of shopping with him - guess he won that time Laugh

No word on the funeral arrangements for my Aunt, who passed away yesterday.  I'll probably be missing for a day later this week though.  Her town is about 3 hours from us, so will probably drive up for the wake, spend the night, and come home after the funeral.  Char says she will be fine on her own for a couple days and we will get a school ride for the kids.

Tardis is back online tonight and supplies are ready to drop over our friends in Michigan.  Chief volunteered to strow grits on their driveways in hopes that will give them some traction for their snowshoes and dogsleds - it might work!!!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Hello all,

The snow cannon is pointed my way. 'bout 5" down all ready. Depending on which forecast you listen to we're in for some where between 6 & 18 inches more before it quits. Looks like son will get to use his "new" snow plow. Mrs is all ready on a 2 hour delay tomorrow. School will probably be closed.

Mike C , my condolences.  Angel

Entire family was at my Folks house this evening. We enjoyed a meal of turkey *** with all the fix'ns. The occasion was my sons 30th Birthday. A grand time was had by all.

Weekend was so so. Did get some of my inside stuff done. train running was minimal.

Buckeye  Happy B-Day

I'm going to join my lovely Mrs in bed.

What a great Birthday.  The only down part was that I didn't receive birthday wishes from Fifedog.  He must have forgotten my birthday this year.   Normally he writes me a poem along these lines:

So it's your sixtieth birthday;
Six decades have gone and passed.
They say when you get older,
Time goes twice as fast.

I wouldn't know, of course,
Since I am still quite young,
But for you, the music is over;
Your last song has been sung.

You're just over the hill at sixty ;
You went down without a fight.
Time rushes on, and soon
That "hill" will be out of sight!

Happy Birthday Anyway!FIFEDOG

Dennis, would the music you heard be The Planets, Op. 32, a 7 movement orchestral suite by an English composer Gustave Holst? I love it.

Why, Yes it would!  Thought if I posted the details, someone might get on me.  But as you say, "Love it".  I was surprised by our local symphony as it is a relatively small area and mostly surrounded by agriculture, good folks, but hardly the refined.

It is a gorgeous day here.  I took off to be home with the kids as they have the day for "President's Day".  About to take them out for some good 'ol Southern BBQ.  Have my disciple class work to do and some chores.  Bride informed me that she scraped the side of the door on the van...oh well.  She was avoiding a speeding car in the parking garage.  Told her it would be better to let them hit you if they are not going too fast, but the most important thing is that she was not hurt.

Hope that everyone has a blessed day.
Dennis

Afternoon all!

Someone blew the margins...Dunce

The college tour to Texas A&M went well Saturday, but our day started at 4:00 am, included 9 hours of travel time (car and bus - could have driven ourselves in 6 - folks not being on time caused bus to leave late each way so add another hour - note to self, make own travel arrangements next time). Son is very interested in Mechanical Engineering program. Seeing the Formula style hybrid tech car being built for this year (uses a motorcycle engine and DC motor dual drive) and the metals foundry hands on really got his attention.

I was amazed at how much and how little the campus had changed since I was last there.

So next steps are to set up tours for OU, OSU, Texas Tech, Texas, and Univ of North Texas.

Enjoyed the race yesterday, but too many wrecks (did you notice there was never a need to schedule a green flag pit stop?) took out good competitors. And NASCAR wonders why their attendance is sagging? Plus with the races jumping through 3 networks for the season...

Mike C - sincere condolences on your father and prayers for your family.

Re Buckeye's alledged B-Day - he just does this to get free food and cake at restaurants. He can pull up the CTT forum on his iFAD and say "see - everyone is wishing me happy birthday!"

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy
