Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI but a bit cooler with temps in the 40s. Happy birthday, Buckeye! I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast.
To all,
I have one request the next time you run your trains. Would you please blow the whistle once long and loud for my dad? He passed away this afternoon a little past 1 PM. My wife, my sister, her husband, the one daughter who is a social worker, her husband and myself were with him. He was in no pain when he left this world, and he is at peace and with my mom. Thank you all for your prayers and support during this time. I love you all and consider you some of the best friends in the world. The visitation will be Tuesday and the funeral Wednesday. The obit (hopefully) will be in the Greensburg paper Monday. I am not sure when or how often I will be posting the next few days.
The beacon will not be lit the next few days. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good night all. Someone named Buckeye tried to say this site was not working. Oh well. Off to bed. Busy day. Mom's house is no longer mine. Only one more trip later to clean out the barns. No rush. Now to get all this "stuff" put away.
OH. Buckeye.
As usual, your special birthday engine present is being shipped.
Sleep tight.

I want to thank everyone for the great birthday wishes. We had a little party at Roger's Corners last night. The police did not show up this time.
Mike C. -- My Condolances to you and your family. The whistle on the Hudson 5412 will be sounding.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold and frosty 28 degrees. Going up to 46 today with cloudy skies.
Today is an easy day. I have the usual chores to do and then I will be watching the Daytona 500 on TV. Glad the racing season is back.
Mike C.,.....My condolances to you and your family for the loss of your Dad. Train whistle will blow for him today.
Dining car is here with an omlet for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
MIKE C.,
Prayers for you and your family, Sorry for your loss. I'll be blowing the whistle on the NS F3s this afternoon, one long lap around the layout.
HI GUYZ,
27 and a big difference from a few days ago. Ran trains last nite for 1.5 hrs, NO PILE UPs. Worked a little on roadway up to Snob Hill, still tweeking some decisions? Maybe a little work this afternoon? Taking dog for walk right after I get done posting here. The forum wasn't accessable last nite. Don't know what happened?
BUCKEYE, glad the COPs didn't show up like they did last year? WOO!
Stay frosty,
Greetings from a winter wonderland in SE Arizona. Got a storm going thru and we are buttoned up for the weather. Not a lot of snow, but the wind is still blowing pretty good out there. Supposed to clear off tomorrow.
Finally got the Zenith radio for the garage working yesterday. Need to put an antenna on it today and see if I can get anything. The telescope makes a wonderful Faraday cage though.
Watched Dr. Strangelove last night. Always entertaining.
Chief - congrats on selling your mom's house. Hopefully you can get to the lake now.
Mike - So sorry to hear about your dad. Thoughts and prayers for you and the family. We're here if you need us.
Probably won't be too exciting of a day just waiting for this storm to clear. Kind of hard to train the new guy when we are not operating, but that's the way it goes.
Enjoy your Sunday

Mike C - Condolences on the loss of your Dad. It has been a long time since I've done any running in the trainroom so today seems like a good day to fire them up and blow some whistles! JimT - hope the interview went well and the stalking of the Boysenberry Probe Chickie goes well as well. Buckeye - Happy Belated [birthday].Check out SPF for an update on the curved stone arch bridge.Don - didn't read your post about the laptop. Once option would be to have them install a new HD and put the existing one in an external enclosure - ensures 100% non-data loss.Off to run the trains for a bit then off to FiL's to cut up some tulip tree branches that fell during the winter.TTYL
Mike C. Prayers to you all and when I get home tonight I will run my trains and I will let that lonesome whisle blow long and sweet just for your father and in his memory.
May the lord bless him and you all

Mike C,
My deepest condolences on your Dad's passing. Thoughts and Prayers.

Afternoon all. Sunny and warm but not as hot as yesterday. Also not as windy. Wind was horrible and especially down east where it is flat. Bad woods fires everywhere. Painted the nook in the bedroom [where the closet was].
Mike C., sorry for your loss. Did not read your post last night when I posted. Will sound the horns on the big NS diesels and the F3's.
Bob, got a surprise package. Thanks a lot. Outstanding.
Now to empty some boxes and go to the lake house and see if it is still there. Longest it has been since I bought it. Hope to spend a lot of time there next week. May do the back small deck replacement project them.
Later.
Mike,
My condolences to and your family at this time of your loss. May God have mercy on his soul and enter into the kingdom prepared from the begining of time.
MAy God bless
Jim
Mike C. -- deepest sympathies to you and your family, it's never easy but we know that you will make it through this sad time as prayers will buoy you up.
Buckeye -- Happy Belated Birthday Greetings, may the Buckeye BB team give you a wonderful belated present in March
Busy time of year for me as I hardly know what day of the week it is, never in my wildest dreams did I envision retirement having so many commitments and opportunities. I'll be glad when the 2nd week of May arrives ..... the next time I retire..........
The boss has been gone for a week to be with her sister and comes home tomorrow night, sure miss her, it's just way to quiet around here so I'm glad I've been busy. Snow is all gone and we've been enjoying record breaking temps, what a pleasant difference compared to last year.
Have the Daytona 500 on and the weather looks fantastic. We were there two years ago one week after the big race, someday I'd like to see the race in person.
Take care.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.

I will do that. I know just how you feel, having been through the same thing almost exactly five years ago.
Mike C. Condolences on the loss of your father. Whistles will blow for him on my layout.

Evening to All,
Spent the day watching the Daytona 500. Great story with the 20 y.o. Trevor Bayne winning in the 21 Wood Brothers Ford. Cooked up a pot of ham, cabbage, and potatoes for dinner. Pretty good if I say so myself.
Mike C - Sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Whistles will blow on the layout tonight.
Going to enjoy having a day off tomorrow. The last few weeks have been crazy at work. Lousy weather, schools closed, new students moving in. Can't wait until spring. Last week's little warm up just made things a little crazier. Now they are predicting more snow and ice Monday into Tuesday. Yuck.

Mike Prayers still going out to you and all your family. Did as you requested with my berk then did it with my NYC GP-9
Hi all been a slow day was at work till 3:30 now relaxing off tomorrow. ( and get paid for to as its a holiday.)
Listening to some old songs from when I was younger days off of you tube.
Hope all had a good weekend. 3 dayer for some of you.
Running my trains no wrecks so all is doing good.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your dad.
Brent,
No interview yet, but I am hoping that the phone rings to set one up. I really would like to work there. On the other front, hopefully there will be progress there also. The gaskets got here Saturday morning, so I've got the motivation to get that done asap.
After watching TM's "Building an O Gauge Layout Beginner and Advanced" (which is excellent), I am considering tearing the layout apart and starting fresh. I feel like I've worked myself into a corner with this one, and I can't really make it what I would like it to be.
Good Evening from the Jersey Shore,
Mike C, Continued prayers for your Dad, you and the family. Blew the whistle on my Hudson 685 long and loud.
Jim, GP, Hang in there, I hope that you hear something soon.
Fife, My niece has a photography shoot to do in Baltimore, a week from Thursday. She is a little nervous going so my wife is going with her. They are going to stay overnight. Can you recommend a safe, reasonably motel/hotel for them to stay? I will find out where the shoot is. Thanks.
Prayers and Thoughts for all in need.
Good evening everyone. Back from evening church services. Service was very good, but also know that our pastor has a heavy heart as a good friend of his, who was a pastor of a church in Oklahoma was killed last week in a motorcycle accident and our pastor is going to do the service for his funeral.
Mike, I am sorry to hear about your Dad. A very hard thing to deal with. I will pray for the comfort of God to you and your family. For those who believe, absent from the body, present with the Lord.
Jon, had a really neat thing last night. We had a astronaut come to town and they had a special with the local symphony. It was representative of the solar system with different pieces for the different planets, ie: Mars with a "war theme", etc. They had a fun video that went with it as if you were soaring around the solar system with some animation and some actual film from some of the NASA missions.
Hope to check in before too long.God Bless,
Dennis

Good Evening
February is back, we are really getting dumped on. Looks like 8/10 inches of snow before it's over. We have 2 grandsons here as there is no school tomorrow and grannys not going out in this mess. Got banilla though if Brutus can find us in this storm.
S.J.
