Good evening all,
Snohio is on the way in SE Indiana. It was a good day today. Lucas made it home and then to Bloomington. Wife's surgery went well, and they removed rest of skin cancer. Will monitor it with six month checkups. Christmas stuff is almost all put up. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL any time. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Interesting week at work. Those that make the decisions have decided to replace ALL the boilers at work this week! This is an office! Brrrrrrrrr! Just the occasional heater here and there but at least 10-15 degrees less than normal.
I hope you sutherners keep us yanks posted (Chief, Pat and Fife) so laz, njdevil, hudson 685 and myself have enough warning!
Tryin' to keep it warm in Jersey

Fairly quiet Monday @ the 'scope. Since it's business hours for everyone else I made a few appointments and took care of some business stuff for the site. Got to call the HVAC guys. Heater on the first floor is flaking out again. I'm using a space heater in my room so I was ok for the weekend. Darn thing w/ probably fire up when they get here like it did last time.
anj - congrats about the job! you were talking about tools, is it a mechanic's position?
Joe - nice work on the layout! I like the stealth bomber in the hanger. Now you just need a 1/48 scale YB-49 to match!
I forgot the regulator/dryer assembly at home so painting the track will have to wait. Will prob be easier to paint w/ my auto detail sprayer instead of the airbrush anyway.
Time to find some breakfast

BRuth, glad to see you got some snohio. Nothing here yet. My retired pilot buddy down in the sandhills area [near Rockingham] had 3 inches by 9:30 this AM. Fayetteville had some too. News showed Carolina Beach covered all the way to the surf. Missed lunch so wifey is now home and doing frozen pizza. Did my walk at the lease this afternoon and fed the animals. Saw nothing. Not a single critter except birds. Cold. Later

The yard is still a bit swampy but at least it ain't rained for a few days. A bit cool and sunny with no more rain forecast for awhile.
Worked on one of my Lionel FT's that was a mechanical failure last friday, appears to have been a p/u roller issue. The other one though appears to have eaten a worm gear on the motor.
Any of you guys that have PS2 engines and don't have DCS take a look at the DCS remote system, 50-1033. I installed it on the ceiling track and it is working great, for my limited use at home spending $40 sure beats $300+ for the full DCS system. The only thing I have to remember is if I run them with DCS on the club layout I have to do a "Factory Reset" before I take them home.

ChiefEagles Home. Yam Dankies sending snohio and ice. Had to come home early. @$#^&~ REB's have sent out blocking so it is not going to be as intense as originally forecasted. Afraid it will dump on Pat. Might dump on Super Trooper in Maryland. Bob, glad things are going better. Buckeye, what do you expect when you live in Ohio. Popcorn and TV time. Later

Chief - I got the deflector shield up. Allows no more than 1". But the shield doesn't reach to Baltimore, so I can't protect the Super Trooper. Sorry Fife.

Morning all!
Cold and wintery here. Got freezing drizzle last night so a lot of roads here bogged down due to ice on bridges. Below freezing right now but may hit 39 today. The main cold has yet to hit so will be colder by mid-week.
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Good morning all,
We had some freezing wintery mix stuff last night followed by some light snow. By this morning we probably had about a half inch, just enough to cover everything nicely, but not enough to shut down school or work. It is still flurrying, but it will not amount to much.
Laz/CNW - Thanks for the compliments.
S.J. - I heard about a train accident in Michigan. Was it near you?
Back to work for now,
Joe
Good Morning
20s today
No new snow till tomorrow. Breakfast was an egg sandwich, coffee and newspaper....Happy monday......S.J.
Aloha all. Sunny and cold here in Chicago. We haven't had real snow up our way since Christmas. Hope you folks in the south and east getting more snow are safe. Roy, I know what you mean about old toys; though we've been pretty good over the years about clearing things out. I figure if I haven't looked or thought about it in a year, it can go - especially old decorative stuff. My bride never reuses a decorative scheme... Wow $70 to park... Joe, nice progress on the layout. Bob, nothing finer than recycling! Laz, should be a good matchup for the Bears this time

Nice powdery snow here in the middle of South Carolina this morning but the dreaded freezing rain is only a short distance away according to the radar. Hope we manage to avoid the usual power failures but that may be asking too much. As long as we have power it should be a good day to work on the Marx 333. Hope y'all have a nice day- try not to eat too much!

Chiefie..... How's the weather in NC ???
Right now, just cloudy. May get some snohio later but not as much as earlier forecasted. Forcing it farther Nawth. Making sure LAZ has plenty. Send Banks some too.
Morning all. Slept late and then had farm stuff to do. I am "looking after" my two farms and three female cousin's farms too. Staying in and enjoying the heat and TV. A few meetings this week but no heavy overload. Not happy over merger of Progress Energy and Duke Power. Duke is crooked and poor service. Thier environmental record is horrible. Will be the largest utility in the USA.
Now for coffee and breakfast.
Later
Good Morning...It's Monday...last day of my 5 month long "vacation"
I have a lot of running around to do and need to get my tools out of storage. I'm debating whether to cram them into my neon or in the Wagon...
More snohizo is predicted here Tuesday night into Wednesday, New York radio says 6-12" is possible, Philly saying 4-8". All I know is that this is going to screw up my 2nd day of work...already!!!!
Laz - nice "tree" shot...I did chuckle at that one...
for our intentions - I will check back a little later...time for $1 coffee at WaWa!!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 8 degrees. Going up to 22 today with no new snow due.
Today is a busy day. Lots of chores to do and a bunch of paperwork. Maybe a nap later. Not much else new here.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck
DMAY,
JOE nice video and layout.

Hi GUYZ,
17 here this morning. SNO HI O tomorrow? Gonna try and do some wiring tonite on layout?
AF53, Tree is still standing, was a good shot though.
Stay frosty,
Here's my attempt to upload the video. Please understand I shot the video with a simple Flip Video camera. It would have been longer but someone forgot to charge it after they last used it.
It's been a busy past two days, mostly due to knocking out house chores. However, I was able to spend a few hours on the layout yesterday and today. I uploaded some photos to my layout post. Please note I am horrible at taking photos, and we even have a decent camera – it’s all operator error. RT – Let me know what you think of those runway lights. I still have a long way to go with the layout, but I am happy with the progress thus far. I am trying to get a short video loaded as well, but that is proving to be tricky for me.
The temps dropped considerably today and I love it. We had some winter mix earlier which caused the van's doors and windows to freeze over. It's supposed to snow more tonight and I hope it does. I would love a day stuck at home with the kids to play in the snow.
laz- Just one thing....Inquireing minds want to know.....Did the tree survive???? Nice story, thanks! You made my night!
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s. Lucas is headed home. Made the connection in Chicago and will be in Indy around midnight. Good day today. Went to Mass, visited Dad, had lunch at Arby's. Took down outside lights and finished second LEGO house. Went to see "Tangled". Good movie. Watched "Desperate Housewives". Took ornaments off tree. Dental check up at 9 AM, visit funeral home at noon, wife's seond surgery on skin cancer is at 2:45. Dad is going to see doctor about gallstone removal on Tuesday. Could be interesting week and I have not yet headed back to work. Fifedog, train show ended at 4 and game was at 8:30, and besides, there are too many handballs in American football ..... I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning for breakfast. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Bob - neat train! I'm sure he'll love it!
Nothing much going on here today. I cooked breakfast and dinner, did laundry, played on the xbox, watched Despicable Me with the family, and just hanging out chatting with SJ, RT and Charlie now. Tomorrow is doctor visits - my wife in the morning and then me in the early afternoon. I'll take some train magazines and get caught up while waiting
Doug - we can EASILY get that onboard, we'll put it in the main sub basement
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Another quiet day @ the 'scope. System is working fairly well. Moved the N-gauge setup down to the electronics shop so I could work on some track for the Marx clockwork set for my friend's son. Here's a you tube of it running on a circle of 0-27 track that I pulled the center rails from:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQOhUHbtiCY
Just need to prime and paint the track. It was some old stuff that was too rusty for electric use. Nothing like recycling.
Gabrielle is doing fairly well. Thanks for the prayers.
Back from MOMs and another day out with the Flintlock. It was cold at only 13 degrees went out loaded up. Went behind uncles house about a quarter mile and had BRO come through the swamp. He spooked out 8 doe running right at me about 30 yards full speed. Pulled back hammer raised gun was leading the deer that was about 25 yards away, took shot sparks into the pan poof pan ignited, bang gun went off, I just killed a tree in front of big doe. I was leading it while on full run and shot and hit the darn tree. DA! I Had bad luck with that one oh well better then no luck at all. Tracked it in the 5 inches of snow but no blood or anything wrong with it had a good laugh then proceded to make the final 2hrs of pushes for BRO but he didn't see any. Oh well have next Saturday yet. Came home and watched some great football games. Came back to Millersburg and watched the Eagles(not FRANK) loose to the Pack.
DOUG M. looks like we got the Seahawks next week. Go BEARS!!!
BUCKEYE, WOW you got a little *** for $3.00, You DA MAN!!!!
sun all day, a little snow melt but as usual more coming tuesday. Well I did buy a Lionel caboose today. $5, hard to find, set only, white Burlington, SP type, die cast trucks, dual rollers, looks new. Thats my kinda buy these days. We went to both shows $3. for 1, $4 for the other. Got the christmas stuff put away above the garage, a pain in the back as theres no room to stand. Banilla is ready...S.J.
