Hey you all !

RT - I will trade you, this is what the Chief sent me.

Been a busy day, washed 3 cars, cleaned and hosed down the patio.  Then started working on the Christmas Tree.  Don't know if its going to make it,  it is really wilted from the heat!  And, its artificial.  The ones at the "lots" are even worse, they look like ski poles.

Got to get going, need to go and water the lawn.

Angel Prays for Jim and Char,

Note to Dougdagrump and Ray,   Sorry but I'm going to have to reschedule the BBQ, I was going to invite you guys over for.  The family wants to go to the beach tomorrow.  Probably to hot to be outside anyway, we dont have many shade trees in the yard.

Later,

Don

That's too bad Don, I was looking forward to the Bar B Que.  I even bought some more sun tan lotion yesterday.  My swimming pool is starting to look tempting again.

Good morning

Sun, COLD 12 degrees and staying there. The furnace is running(thank you lord) about every 5 minutes, I think the wind is drawing the heat right out of the house. Our house faces west so I'm going to wait till the sun reaches the front before I do the snowblowing. Somewhere out the is a red truck that belongs to me, maybe I will find it too..S.J.

Aloha all. Quite frigid here in our part of the Land of Lincoln.  Continued prayers for Ms. S. Wench and Char. Agree with Laz the Bears sure stunk though it was fun to watch the game in the elements. It must've been miserable there.  Bob, you can do a tremendous amount in 4 x 8 in N. My first N gauge layout was only 3 x 5.

Well, a fire hydrant leapt out to hit our newly-paid-off car whilst the teen was driving to church. I'm happy he didn't hit any real person, but he really pasted the car. Thank goodness for insurance.  And I'll have to endure I think a decade of "I told you so" from the bride who didn't think his snow-driving skills were great. Wink

Good Morning from Blueberryhill

It is a cold 18 degrees. About 3 inches of new snow on the ground. Going up to 30 today with 4 more inches of snow on the way.

Today is an easy day. I don't plan on going out. Have a few chores to do and then relax and watch it snow.

Dining car is here for a Cheerios breakfast.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Hello all

Grits and egg nogg?! I think I'm going to hurl...

Back at work collecting photons. It has been an interesting night. We have been having receiver problems. Still working, but it looks like we will have to do some work on it in the next few days.

Otherwise it's pretty much just the usual. Been tinkering w/ a few radio items in my spare time including a Heathkit battery eliminator. Finally got it working although due to the update of the selenium rectifier w/ diodes is puts out a lot more volts. Forgot that the new capacitors were rated for the old voltage when I was testing it at the high end. Now need to replace one of the ones that was just replacedBang Head Oh well, Mouser has some higher voltage units that should do the trick. I'm rebuilding this thing to use to power a couple of old tube car radios. Interestingly enough, one of the other uses the assembly manual says it can be used for is as a model train transformer.

RT - really enjoyed the snowplow cartoon. Got a good laugh when I needed it. Thanks!

Jim - glad to hear Char is home and prayers that she can stay home.

Mike - thoughts and prayers for your wife. They carved some of that off me a few years back and while it's thought of as "routine" it sure didn't feel that way.

On the train note I am starting to dabble w/ N-scale stuff. No, don't worry, not going to get rid of the O-gauge stuff. It's just that I realize that a 4X8 is probably all I will have room for for a while and would like to get some more switching action and run some bigger (in this case, more wheels:) engines which I just can't afford in O. Plus I should probably be able to have a decent setup in N on the desk at work.

Bob

The joke of the day:

If Patrick Stewart had a train set what scale would it be?

"N-gauge"

We'll see how many Star Trek fans get that...

Evenin'g Guys!

50-ish today rain....a friend took me to dinner at CheeburgerCheeburger then went to see The Warrior's Way.  Goot Ninja/Western flick.  Had a good time.....needed one!

Well, my "present" arrived, its a 1995 Red neon!  331K and in great shape.  It was donated to me by one of my Dad's and BIL's friends.  So, the Daddy Wagon will be parked and my eco-cruiser will get me around day to day 30 MPG vs 13 MPG....sounds like I could learn to love it...it's a 5 speed and I love to shift my own.

Put Dad's 1666 under the tree and surprised him...he loved it!  Mom & Dad had a dive club party last night, caught up with my ex SIL and classmate (they are sisters), at the party.  Had a decent time.

OK off to bed, I have a 7 AM interview...

Angel for Char and the Saucy Wench...

Have a good night!

Was sunny and 60 here on Friday, 20's wind and snow yesterday, and sunny, windy and about 20 today.

Prayers of health for Mrs. Mike and Char.

Back to work tomorrow morning.  Tried to take vacation since last Tuesday.  Called it 'heart attack test' for the plant - a test for when I finally get that heart attack that place is going to give me someday.  They failed.  Called me in 11:30 pm on Thursday night for a few hours. Grumpy

Anyhow, got the tile work and grouting done in the bathroom project.  Good time to go rob a bank - my finger prints are worn off after grouting about 150 square feet of tile. Got the bath tub operational too.

No trains lately, other than stopping by the LHS a couple of times last week and chewing the fat for a bit.

All for now.

Good evening all,

It Snohioed all day today in SE Indiana.  Tonight it will be snowing and drifting.  Staying home from work tomorrow.  I have days to use and no sense risking a wreck when I do not have to.  Engine light came on PT Cruiser as I was driving home from church.  Have to get it checked out tomorrow.  Thank you all for thoughts and prayers for the missus.  She (and I) deeply appreciate it.  Everything "should" be ok, but still that word does make you nervous.  We will be watching "Desperate Housewives" shortly.  Watched the George C. Scott version of the "Christmas Carol" last night.  It is always good.  Makes you think perhaps people back then had the right idea about celebrating Christmas.  I had cereal and donuts  on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  TBIL after the show tonight and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Cold and snowy in Saint Louis.  They already cancelled school or tomorrow Thumbs Up  Son is grounded for not finishing some homework, so he is bummed out.  I think there might be an amnesty for snow days, but we're still trying to decide.  Char ate some breakfast and lunch and dinner, so that's good.  She did try to warm up some biscuits in the microwave and set it for 10 minutes instead of seconds, so we had to open up the house for a while to let the smoke out.  I cleared off the driveway - just a few inches in a snow drift.  Tardis will be ready shortly - ttfn!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good morning all,

Brutus, prayers for weight gain for Char.

Prayers for Mike's wife also.

Got Christmas tree up and decorated on Thursday.  Did not bother putting all the Hallmark ornaments on the tree this time because there is not enough room.  I'm keeping it simple this time.

Foxes beware, Chief has some improved artillery.

Hi GUYZ,

50 here and rainy.  Maybe turn back to snow late?  Last day of deer season was a good one for BIL.  At 330 I did the final drive for BRO and BIL.  Walked all day and nothing but on final drive I scared out 7 deer for BIL.  A 4 pt., but can't shoot, and 6 doe.  He shot and hit a doe, we later found it 20 minutes later.  Cleaned it the help drag it out about 1/2 a mile.  All season only saw 2 deer a buck and doe running thats it.  Hope to get one in FLINTLOCK season which starts Dec 27th.

BRUTUS prayers for wife.  Hope she starts gaining weight.

MIKE C., prayers too for your wife.  About 2 years ago I had C removed from my back.  Now I keep an eye on it for MOM and DAD had it too.

Stay frosty,
