Pardon me for gloating over the weekend NASCAR races. Kyle Bush wins on Sat., in first place, is third on Sun., is in second place. Where is JJ 48? No race on Sat., 37th on Sun., has slipped to 7th in cup standings.
Happy Holiday!

Good afternoon all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. Rain predicted but not here yet. Watched replay of 500 over watching "live" other event. Yes, that was a tough accident, but driver only had a broken leg. Tired the day after. Fifedog, sorry to hear about son's accident. Will pray for speedy recovery and nice of daughter to help with medication. I had bacon and english muffins for breakfast on the dining car as it came in from "Points East". TBIL after the "Victory Dinner" tonight for the race. It always feel like the day after Christmas around here when the race is over. A whole year of anticipation and it is "Wait 'til Next Year". I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Had memorial day on my mind. Forgot...had first BLT of the season for breakfast not from my garden but passable....S.J.
fifedogThanks for the well wishes for the boy. Lawson Farms - Kyle must be #1...Jeff Burton certainly said so, repeatedly, on pit road last night...
The new NASCAR policy of letting the drivers settle there differences on the track and on pit row has greatly improved the race for THIS spectator, especially when mild mannered Jeff Burton gets into the fray.
Fife, sorry to hear about the pup. Man! 500 lbs! He must be a big boy. I don't think I could even move 500 lbs, much less lift it. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Don, looking forward to pawn shop photos.
Birthday get together went well yesterday for #1 son. Bar-B-Que ribs, corn on the cob, homemade cole slaw and potato salad plus baked beans. Hey Chief, I found some Lays potato chips with a Carolina Bar-B-Que flavor supposedly. They are hot but not too much vinegar taste. Nothing like the real thing though.
God bless our veterans, living and dead. Every time I see those pictures of the graves at Normandy, I think about all those young men who gave up all of their tomorrows for us. Freedom is not free.

Good afternoon everyone. Happy Memorial Day!!!! I was called in this morning for an emergency, then had to do rounds and finally home. I do have more work but hope to have time to tackle it before going back. Going to gas up the tractor and get some grass cut. I will also contact a number of friends who are serving and tell them THANKS!
Fife, sorry to hear about your son. The meds to prevent DVT/PE are very important. Have seen cases where someone had a relatively minor operation turn catastrophic when they threw a clot to the lungs.
SJ, watch the meds....as you are getting great advice from your bride, you do need to not put yourself in any position where you could have a problem and it get much worse when you try to do too much. Just need to see how you are affected.
Been watching a little of the National Memorial Day Parade in DC. They had a interview with one of the guys in charge of the "Wounded Warrior Project", He was very humble, but did speak of how proud he was when the Patriot Guard came by with all their motorcycles. Thought Jon would like to hear about that.
Have some work to get to. Hope each of you has a great day and week. Remember to say a prayer for our vets and active duty folks.Dennis

SJ, get someone to do your "heavy work". As wifey keeeps saying, "You are not 25 anymore."
Sunk two big piles of "brush" in pond for fish to hide in. Trimmed limbs hanging over pond [from boat]. Fished and caught bass [Friend Fred was with me]. Sprayed the path at the pond. Mowed grass here. Sprayed outside fence and at neighbors' housees [actually two widow ladies' houses]. Picked garden. Now off to the lake house. Will be first trip in over a year without Lucy. We figure I can get more done by not keeping one eye on her. Hey, forgot to eat today. Well, pickup something on the way up. Enjoy the week. All yuz giz work hard and send in the SS. Thanks. God bless.

Good Evening, 80 and cloudy at the Jersey Shore
SJ: It is time to take it easy and not cut the grass. Also stop sending those storms this way. One is on the way. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Rich,
Have a safe trip.
Hello All,
Haven't been in since Thursday or Friday, busy weekend. More on that later.
I see, from skimming this page, prayers are in order for Fifepup and Sir James. Hope it's nothing serious.
I wanted to stop in mainly to thank the Veterans among us and to offer prayer for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Now it's past time to join my lovely Mrs in bed.
Prayers to all else who may need them

Good Evnin' Ya'll From Hazy Taxachusetts,
Spent two wonderful days with the family and friends at my place, cooking and eating and yakking. Everyone was pitching in which made things even more enjoyable. The weather has been beautiful overall, but the Canadian fires have cast quite a haze over us with the Southerly winds carrying the smoke down the Easy coast.
Visibility has been cut quite a bit, reminded me of the California morning haze I experienced quite a bit back in the 70s, except this isn't clearing up. Cape Cod visibility about 100 miles South of us was limited to 2 miles this morning, and the Beverly/Salem harbor looked like it was engulfed in a fog early crossing the bridge on the way to pick up some baked goods. Both the grandchildren spent Saturday night with Grammy and Grampy, and the six year old spent last night as well. The whole and undivided attention she used to enjoy vanished with the arrival of her baby sister 11 months ago. She needs it. She was running laps in and around the sprinkler before we realized we didn't have a set of dry clothes for her. So we dressed her up in some of our stuff. She looked like ET!
While the gang was here we called my in-laws back in the Chicago area to wish them a happy Memorial Day. I had been telling my granddaughter before the call that "Papa" had been a soldier in World War II and that today on Memorial Day we give thanks to all of the soldiers like Papa for bravely defending our freedoms. She thanked him enthusiastically when she spoke to him. Pretty sure he got the message.
Fife.....hope your boy is resting comfortably. He must be feeling a bit disappointed and tad vulnerable. Thank goodness for parents with a cooler head. And for a sister who can help him out. Somthing he will remember long after he heals. Hope his sense of humor is returning.
SJ.....glad you are feeling better. As others have suggested, slow down and take a load off.
Heads up to Ray, DougDG, and Don. Wife is off to California on business tomorrow early and I am the limo service. So I have to hit the hay.
Later, gang.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Prayers tonight for all those we remember on Memorial Day...
Also special prayers for Fifepup and SJ.
Home safe and sound from the north country....RT yes I would love to have one of those in my yard.

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with thunderstorms appearing at random. Very nice "Victory Dinner" last night. No big revelations, but the "Swiss Miss" was the rookie of the year. Took it very easy yesterday. I had the regular fare on the dining car before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL after "Glee". I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 68 degrees. Going up to 86 today. Humid. Chance of rain later.
Today is a busy day. I have some errands to run and PT this afternoon. I will be relaxing after that. Not much else new.
Dining car rolled in and it's Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck

Yesterday ripped up kitchen floors. Thats right they put 2 lyonlium floors and carpeting in the kitchen. Got down to the mastic. Thank God for air conpressor and impact hammer. Came up pretty good but time consuming on the account of all the staples they used to hold down masonite. But got r done.
6 more days o school.
Stay frosty,
