Morning all. Wow, it is May already! I feel real bad this morning. We are all under the weather. Glad it is Saturday, but I have some things I absolutely must get to. The grass needs to be cut and trees need to be planted. Also have some crates I have to build from old shipping flats. These will be a prop for the next week's filming.
Thanks RT for getting it going with Lucy and da Chief out of range. With any luck, if I feel half way OK when done with the honey do list, I will get some train time in. Falling way behind in the hobby I love.
Wife is working one of her two days per month today. She is on the mend from this mess, so I hope that she is having a good day. Remember, if Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! May order some delivery for tonight as I just am not feeling like cooking...or doing anything right now.God BLess, dennis

Aloha all. Back from 8 am soccer game. Brutus, it was very windy all day, then 'your' storm came through, not too bad though the sirens went off in the next town. Rich, condolences for your bride's sudden unemployment. Good friend just finished 2 months of interviews with one position and didn't get it. Sigh. Jack, Tiffin to home and back was just about 700ish miles. 6 hours there, half-hour packing and nearly 8 hours home. We hit traffic by Sox park and went 1.7 miles to the circle n an hour and a half. Just traffic. Ugh, especially at the end of the day. 'Course I did all the driving (enjoy that) but the bride is the one exhausted - go figure. Grass looks terrible, so I'm going to wake the teen boy to cut it. Then wake the teen girl to get up and look for work.

Two drunks were walking down a New York City street when one fell down the subway steps. When he got back up top he asked his drinking partner, "...boy did you ever get to see that guy's train set in the basement ? "

A man and a woman, who had never met before, found themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a transcontinental train. Although initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room, the two are tired and fall asleep quickly -- he in the upper bunk and she in the lower. At 2:00 a.m., he leans over and gently wakes the woman, saying, " I'm sorry to bother you, but would you be willing to reach into the closet to get me a second blanket? I'm awfully cold."
" I have a better idea," she replies. "Just for tonight, let's pretend that we're married." "Wow! That's a great idea!!" he exclaims.
"Good," she replies. "Get your own da** blanket."
Mornin'/Afternoon All.
Great day at the museum yesterday, all went well although just prior to closing a switch controller decided to malfunction and fry the switch motor. No biggy, just have to work it manually for now.
Did a good deed yesterday, heard a knock at the backdoor and this "homeless" guy was trying to work his way back to Texas. We brought him in and asked him to join us for lunch.
Technically speaking he was homeless, having already checked out of his hotel and killing some time prior to his flight back to "Big D". After all that chili I hope there weren't any flight delays.
Roy, the visit was great. Maybe when the WGH show comes back here you will get the assignment for their layout electronics work. Unfortunately everyone spent so much time talking trains I don't think he got to see any of the two rail stuff in operation.
Look forward to your next trip.
Later all, got some more clean-up to do in the trainroom/toybox.

Stay right where you are, mister. Maybe even turn on the TV.
Evening All
Yes Brent for one man you've done enough damage. Overcast most of the day, went to 74. T/storms expected again before morning. Looks like these might get nasty. Well I goofed off today but did called our oldest grandson and asked if he was packed yet, its his 18th birthday, told him it was time to move on. He is the one that made those famous words "who gave me banilla I wanted chocolate". I will have banilla ready for the thingy crew..S.J.
Good afternoon everyone. Really feeling bad now. Looks like Pizza tonight as I can't cook. Wife is going to be angry when she sees the house. Kids were playing with pillows and furniture while I was passed out on the couch.
Brent, Doug is right, you had better stay clear! Hope you are well on the mend. Sorry to hear about Susie Q.
Doug da Grump, that was so kind of you to take in a homeless person so that they could have a meal and entertainment while passing through. Sounds like you both had some fun. I hope to get to San Diego again sometime and take in the museum.
I hope that each of you has a great weekend.
Dennis

Do not I repeat Do not even look in there let alone walk in there.
A beautiful 1st of May in Northern Michigan. Almost 80 degrees, and I completed a ton of yard work. It snowed here two weeks ago...so this feels wonderful. I spread a couple yards of black dirt and re-seeded the shade areas of my lawn. Sprinklers all turned on and water also turned on in the garage.
I will send up a flare for the thingy!

Good evening all,
It was stormy early this morning, but the day dried off to get the games in. One was a tie and the othter could have been closer than it was. After Mass wife and I went to Wendy's and saw some of "my" soccer girls all decked out for the prom. Hardly recognized some of them. They looked like "girls" lol. They did clean up pretty good (Hoosier phrase). Watched the IRL race. Vitor was as high as fourth, but wound up 10th due to poor pit stops. Sarah was never a factor, and her teammate trashed his car. Dixon won for Team Red. I had cereal and donuts for breakfast. Good to hear from you, Brent. Doug M., regarding Chicago traffic, been there done that. TBIL any time tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Howdy guys - just some sprinkles today after the big storm last night. Worked 5 OT then took son to see that new Kick-A__ movie, which was great! We really liked it a lot - good guy movie Then had a chili-cheese hotdog for dinner with a banilla milkshake
TARDIS is ready and I see a couple flares and some beacons, so time to go!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Rained off and on all day. Saturday night at the 3/8 mile oval rained out too.
Applied some dtywall goo that will need sanding tomorrow.
Ran trains for a bit, no plie ups. Installed TVS's on the layout. LHS was closed today . Was intending to order some of the ACF stock cars in the new catalog.
Must be chili dog day, Brutus. We cooked chili dogs on the grill in the rain. They sure tasted good, though. As a matter of fact, I'm still 'enjoying' them. Seems I can't eat the same things and amounts that I used to. My body reminding my mind of my actual age?
Later all.
Home again. Thanks RT for starting the new Pot as requested. Now to bed. Long day. Hope all are doing well. Especially Brent and Brutus' wife. Later.

Late Saturday,
Long day today, started at 5am and now 9:30 pm, worked a show then family took MIL out for birthday dinner. Had a Great meal AND Tremendous service, that really makes for an enjoyable evening.
Lots and Lots of Nasty weather floating around the country!! Sure hope doesn't create any problems for any of you!!
My concern is that we have had another round of significant winds in the past 24hrs, sure hope that doesn't mean more trouble headed east. The good news is that the weather seem to be stabilizing and warmin up! So good days are ahead.
Shorter day on Sunday should be done by about 4, so looking forward to that!
Brent - I think it would be a really good idea to be working on a litany of compliments you can draw on. And refrain from any "hepfull suggestions" . Also, remember the telephone can be very useful for some delivered flowers etc.. Good Luck! BTW, How big is couch, is the floor carpeted? Ive seen these strap on pillows maybe that could help too.
Later guys Hope you all are safe!
Don
Well the Amtrak work train is on it's way back. Hopefully the return won't be a problem. On a better note, the Corvair is on jackstands and I finally got the right rear drum off. Was stuck something fierce. Had to pretty much sacrifice it. They are a wear part and available so oh well. Engine should be out this week. Also went to the Tucson Corvair Club meeting for the first time this week. Nice bunch of folks.
Fife - glad you're ok and thanks for doing what you do!
Anj - sorry to hear about your wife's job.
Dennis - rest up and get better!
Worked on setting up the full 4X8 setup tonight, at least the outside loops. Looks like it is going to work. The 2026 and the 2025 tend to want to derail on the 1122's and even the new 5122. Seems like the ramp up that goes to the flat metal cross piece at the frog throws the pilot wheels off, even at low speeds. Any thoughts?
I did learn two things. It's best to invest in all new track and use all the same type switches. I know many of you are thinking "duh!", but I've never tried this whole layout/switch thing before in O-gauge The used track and 1121 switches came in a big lot from which I did get some usable 1122's and some other parts. Some of the used track is fine for the temporary loop I take to the scope and maybe sidings, but for main runs I'll try to use mostly new.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a rainy 62 degrees. Going up to 76 today with rain all day.
Today is an easy day. I have a few things to do and then I will relax in the train room. I want to work on a few scenery things and run the trains for a few hours.
Dining car is here with the usual Cheerios breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
