Greetings from sunny Taxachusetts,

Chuck......you had the laugher of the week with your dog!  Mine lifted his leg on the wife Sunday.  Now that was worthy of a "good boy!"  Wife assault on husband commenced shortly thereafter, Doberman Maximus failed to pick sides and help me.  Did your Doc put you on glucosamine and chondroiton for those balky knees?

Jack......Yes, dog is heavy into politics.   I am taking about 2000 mg. of glucosamine and chondroiton daily. Wife takes 1000.  We get the 1000 per capsule type. It really works. We ran out about a month ago and the difference was painful.

Chuck

Good Grief Chuck, I've been taking the 1500 mg, I swear that it is like trying to swallw an "N" scale boxcar. Shock

Evenin' All.

Broke down and went to doctor today, just can't shake this sinus crud. Hopefully the drugs he prescribed will work. Had a pleasant, but brief, chat with a 93 yr old WWII vet while waiting for my script to be filled. Mainly just wanted to say Bow.

Your doggie deserved an extra special treat for his "editorial content". Thumbs Up

Maybe later all. Sleepy

Doug....  I take 2 each of the 1000 mg capsules.  And, Yes, they are big.

I'd enjoy talking to a WWII  Vet. Last one I talked to, was an Iwo Jima Marine.

A little cool over night and raining all day here in St. Louis, athough it wasn't the bad storms they predicted.  Supposed to keep up all week though.  Whacked another 3000 plus zombies with my son today - several maps feature trains or small railyards on these games, which is extra fun of course Thumbs Up

Tardis will be ready shortly, we have some theater-style popcorn as a treat too Smile

Evening guys.  Regarding the WWII vets, I am in a position to talk to a number of them when we have them for patients.  Have met some COM winners and other highly decorated heroes.  One thing they all seem to have in common...humility.  Has taught me to be respectful of everyone who comes across my path....never know what history they have.

Won an auction for a Chinese New Year car from K-line.  Don't really need one, but thought it would be neat for the celebrations we do with the adoption group each year.

Have dentist appt. in the morning, so I better get to sleep.  I may check the sites for an engine or two.. have to catch up with the Chief.

Laz, that was on OGR's buy/sell.  The seller states that given the going price on eBay, he was selling it for that price.

Smilehello i want to thank all my friends for the prayers for my wife.  she is feeling much better and i told her that all of you prayed for her.  she says thanks also.  ww2 vets are neat.  i  like to talk to them as i always learn something. my dad was in the south pacific in a squadron called the wolf pack.  they were twin engine b-25 bombers with wolves painted on the noses.  they were used to harass jap shipping.  he is gone now and all i have is memories.  the conditions that the ww2 vets lived (and died) under was amazing.  it was because of these guys that we enjoy the liberty we have today.  hats off to you guys.  i know another guy named carl who was a lt on an lst durung ww2 and i heard the best stories that i have ever heard from him.

god bless all you guys....navyjack

Back at it tomorrow at 7 bells for breakfast meeting in downtown Buckeyeland.

Oh well, the Chief just keeps spending his SS checks and I just keep slaving away to keep him comfortable.

Almost sunny and about 60 today.  Intermitant rian too.

RockIsland - Hope that you and your wife were not trying to hang wall paper together.  Learned that lesson the hard way in my first house.  Was not until the third house that we gave up on wall paper all together.

Ole Timer - soup and fresh bread sound great! I'll stop by for leftovers tomorrow?  E-mail me some?

Bob - those new Corvair heads have three angle valve jobs?  That is usually good for a little extra flow al low valve lifts, which helps low end torque a bit.

 All for now.

Jack -- the front ski is off the bike and the rear studded snow tire comes off tomorrow Thumbs Up

Buckeye -- our Igloo has melted and was last seen floating down the DM river towards St. Louis in our now rain swollen rivers Thumbs Down  Sandbags have already been strategically placed in stand by for several communites in the state as the NW IA snowpack contains 4-6" of water and now we are getting daily rains, not what we want or need.  It could be a very ugly spring this year.

Just home from another long afternoon/evening of working with middle school kids (contest season for them) and I am tired.  One more night Thursday and that's it for about 10 days, thank goodness, then it gets REAL busy.  I do enjoy working with the kids and the money lets me do some things in the summer I wouldn't normally do .... look out Glacier National Park on a new bike.  I will pick up my new Gold Wing next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   This is my last bike and it will easily out last me and go to my youngest son, I hope to wear out one set of tires per year for the next 7 years.

Almost time for the news and bed, stay dry.

Navyjack .... a big salute to your dad ... my dad was in the fighting 29th division / blue and grey .... hit Normandy beach head and went the whole way to Berlin . He would'nt talk much about it ... more near the end of his life he did .... my uncle was also in the pacific ... Guadal Canal - Iwo Jima .... he still hated the japenese until the day he died . He always complained why they were hardly ever punished for war crimes .... he always told me they did a thousand times more than the Germans ... especially to captured soldiers .

LAZ .... know the feeling on train car prices soaring .... I was buying Lionel flats with 2 corgi macks for around $28-$30.00 ... have 3 of the pre chinese ones and a couple of the newer ones ... just saw the last one go tonight for a whopping $122.50 !  Not anything like what you posted ... but I got the last one for $26.00 last week .

Buckeye ... keep that fan going .... love this balmy weather here . 50's at night ... 60's in the daytime . Heat's been off ... LOVIN IT !  Thumbs Up  Heavy rain expected this weekend .. beats snow ... had a busy evening sharpening pencils .... LOL .... Laugh

8NTRUCK ... come on by buddy ... plenty of everything left .... you know homeade soup is better the next day anyway .... but is deliciuos now .  Dinner

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 40 degrees. Going up to 60 today with a chance of rain, later.

Today is a busy day. I have an errand to run and a home project to do. I will be busy most of the day. No time for trains. Darn.

Dining car is here and it's the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good morning all,

It is cloudyand warm today in SE Indiana with a good chance of rain.  RockIsland52, sorry to not post more, but Lucas is doing ok.  The medicine rash is still there, but he feels fine.  Thanks, guys.  Got a nice surprise at the YMCA last night.  Managed to do a soccer scrimmage for about 20-25 minutes against a couple of high school kids.  No offense to Laz, but that was way more fun than even an "easy" 2 mile run and a lot more tiring.  Slept well.  Watched "Lost".  Still does not make sense.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL after Wednesday night soccer.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Aloha from a rainy Chicago which of all things reminds me of my time about a decade ago in Hong Kong / Kowloon. Y'know how a certain smell or weather can remind you of that?  I am fortunate to have had quite a number of relatives in WW2, all gone now - served on a jeep carrier in the Pacific that was sunk, Liscombe Bay; shot down in a B-17 over Europe and survived, and as an infantryman in Italy. I echo what Dennis said about humility; they never ever wanted to talk about it except amongst themselves. Speaking of vets, great chatting on my way yesterday with our own NavyJack.

Lost has 'jumped the shark', Mike.  Hopefully running trains later tonight.

I'm hearing a long train horn these days. Wonder where it is. Maybe the IC Electric.

Mike and Doug,

It was strange to see Artz (or was it Arntz?) in the flash sideways in last night's episode.  He hasn't been on since the dynamite mishap at the Black Rock in the first season.

Spank,

I am waiting for the rain as well so that I can get the PGT out and not worry about the salt causing any more cancer.  It will be nice to drive a real car again instead of the go kart Sunfire.

I got a few more tracks wired yesterday, so I made some progress.  I need to replace my digital camera now as I slipped while taking more pics of the pool and the camera became full of water and mud as a result.  There is the correct voltage at the battery, but the camera is unresponsive.  I let it dry out over night, but that made no difference.  Fortunately, the Class 10 memory card that was in there is still good.

I have been looking at 2005 and up Mustang GTs, and the prices don't seem too bad.  As soon as the Sunfire is paid off, I want to get into one.

Happy Hump Day..

Sorry, long time no post (ok, a couple of short ones...).  Been busy with 1st & 2nd jobs,

came off another quick night gig on the other side of town.  Just waiting for the cash to roll on in.....

GreenProbe – yeah, rust....me, I try to cut out as much as possible then use a sealant like POR15 and bondo, or if you have a friend with a welder....and a few cases of beer....Smile,Wink, & Grin

Mustang GT? Make mine with a 5 speed and drop top - Unless I can get a brandy new HEMI CHALLENGER!

My modern ZW went dead on the “D” handle, got an RA from the boys at Lionel so maybe tonight I’ll ship ‘er off for repair.  I really like the new ZW, makes me want my Dad’s 275W older ZW.  Thanks to Don, once I get it, I’ll ship it off for refurb.

I made a few purchases; I’ll be getting a JC Penney engine and tender with some MTH semi scale stuff.  It was a good price and the gentleman is local, so I can finally meet up with him.  He is moving to a condo and moving on to -----wait for it----- American Flyer!

Last 2 days have been nice in the upper 60’s.  Haven't had the bike out, just been too busy with work.  Jon, you and my bestest friend Bill both have new Wings – making me jealous, but, I’ll tell you what I told him (and he’s younger than me).  I’m too YOUNG for that fairing/audio/heated seat/Cadillac ride.  Looking forward to riding much more this year, leaving my company car home.

Angel for those that need ‘em, good to hear Char & Mrs Jack are doing well.

Vets/relatives – had a few some are gone, others still hangin in there.  Proud of my relatives that have served, serving and that will.  I have 2 nephews, one is in Annapolis Prep in RI the other starts Army basic in September in Ft. Benning then OCS & Ranger training.  So, looks like visits to both at some point (Fife & Dennis – you have been warned...)

Check ya later!

Rich,

I sent you a PM.  The options that I want are the 5 speed, leather interior, and power options.  The Mycolor instrument cluster looks great as well.  It would be nice to have the choice of 125 differnt colors instead of being stuck with one.

Rich, Before I even got to the end of your post, I was thinking of letting you know that the main gate to Ft. Benning is only about 90 minutes away from my front door.  Just give a shout.

Wife read an article that the next year's SS checks will be less, so watch out folks...more hope and change is coming!

Not much on the agenda for this afternoon.  Plan on doing a little time at the gym.  Violin practice is today, but wife will have to bring the kids without me as I have to cover some other cases.

Just finished some Grits for lunch.  My diet/fast ends tonight....tomorrow is Steak night!  can hardly wait.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good evening, doesn't seem to be quite as much activity on the pot as has been the case lately.  I do have a question for any auto experts that we seem to have hear.  On a Mercedes Benz, the windshield seal has dry rotted and I want to replace it.  Do they have a DIY kit that I can pick up at an auto parts store and replace this, or do I need to have it done at a windshield replacement place/dealer?

Well, I was hoping to add something to the package for the Chinese New Year car I won on auction, but I don't see anything that stirs my train bug.  Oh well, the shipping is more than the car.
Hope each of you is doing well.

Dennis.....Seriously speaking...... I would take it to a windshield shop and let them do it. There is a trick to installing a windshield. You need a suction cup bar and the wedges to hold it it. Plus you may need a new trim piece. Also, they will guarantee their work from leaking.
