Chuck,
I hope you gave the dog a special treat and a good pat on the head....GOOOOOD DOG!!!
Good morning all,
Don, Chris' experience at the Oscars sounds very exiting for him. He is probably the envy of all his friends.
Chief, don't hurt yourself with all those bags of lime. Kind of handy having your own shooting range too.
Went to TTOS Southwestern Div. meet in Arcadia, Calif. yesterday. There were lots of things for sale but mostly postwar and some prewar as well as reproduction pre war. Unfortunately for me there was not much modern train stuff for sale which is what I run nowadays. I used to collect prewar and postwar O gauge but have since sold most of it and now am strictly an operator. I still enjoy going to the meets and meeting people I have known over the years. I would like to get a MTH Southern Railway PS4 in proto 2 sooner or later. I have several things I could trade for one if I can find anyone interested.
Speaking of the Oscars, the only stars I knew at the event all lost. Don't go to movies except rarely anymore and I don't know any of the current crop of actors. I will probably see all the new movies when they come out on DVD or something.
Just got a call about an old friend of mine all the way back to the 50's.. He has ALS and is not doing too well. Just heard that he fell out of bed and hurt his shoulder. His wife is taking care of him 24/7. I don't suppose he has much longer to live since he has had it for quite some time and it is progressing now paralyzing his muscles. A mutual friend called me so I will have to call the one who is ill back today and find out more.
Back to my regular amount of walking this morning after weekend rains shortened my walking time. Doing good on excersise, and medicine but not on diet. That is my problem area. I know my doctor is going to give me a bad time next week about gaining weight.
Prayers for all those on the forum who are suffering.
Have a good week all,
Ray

Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski exchange Christmas cards? But of course! The #12 whined after the crash and said the #99 should have to sit out a race. This crash was just pay back for last year. Crashes and rivalries like this is what buts excitement into NASCAR. Remember Dale Sr.?
As to Dale Jr., I don't think he or his team has what it takes to be top five. Start on the poll and then finish mid field? That has been his story for 2 years now.

Good Afternoon,
Well I guess it's time to drink the orange juice as it's starting to warm up again. Should be near the high 70's by the end of the week, but will it stay? Weatherman said it's been the second coldest winter in Florida's history(over 110 years)!!
Everything else went up, so why not propane tank rental? Heritage Propane of Jupiter FL now wants $105.20 for tank rental compared to $38.50 for last year. I called them up and told them on the phone either to lower my rental price or come pull your tank NOW!!! Very few times do I get really upset like that but they deserved it, 285% increase in my tank rental or almost triple the rent!
Also my Kung-Fu kitty was climbing the walls to get over the top of the rooms upstairs, my wife's first husband didn't finish the walls upstairs, just like everything else he did-he didn't finish it or just Puked it into place! Never seen doors hung at a 12.5% angle to the frame work.
Going to a train show in the last saturday of the month, hopefully I will sell a few things. Also going to do a yardsale the following weekend. Should Know something about the RV being sold in a few days.
Work has been a little slow so I applied for another job today online.

DON .... all I can say is ... that's fabulous the red carpet event for your son .... man to meet Tom Hanks a true legend in his own time ! You may have to wear sunglasses when you see him ... he'll probably be glowing ! He's extremely lucky and I'm very happy for him . Tell him I'll trade him my meeting Bill Clinton & Hillary and the famous Monica even up for a meeting Tom Hanks ... LOL .
Relaxing day the last half ... lost that extra sleep i wanted .. had to repair wife's computer ... if she'd only listen and run the antispam progggies and update ... but oh no ... she thought she knew better . But guess who had to suffer .... not her . Going cruising ebay a bit and fire up the tardis .... light's on at the entrance ... awaiting passengers ...
Hi Guys
A sunny day of 55.
I am tired tonite but will try and stay up for the thingy ride. The banilla is in the freezer if I nod off..S.J.
Good evening guys! Was a uneventful afternoon. Went in late as I am on call. That gave me a morning alone with the bride...which happens on occasion. Couple of big cases in the morning, but I will still go in a little later. Have to drop a car off for the service. Wife has Dr's appointment, so it will be a busy morning anyway. Chief, did you win it? Hope so.
Laz, glad you got the addition well under way. Hope you are able to get it filled soon. My bride would like to take the back porch and change it to a sun room. We may do that if we go with a built in pool in the near future...have to see.
Prayers will be said tonight for Char, Chief's Mom, Roy's Sister, Ray's friend, along with my other requests. I understand a tornado hit in OK. Our senior pastor is out there preaching at a conference, so will say a prayer for them too. May each of you have the peace the surpasses understanding.God Bless, dennis

Sunny and low 60's here today. Last few days have been really nice. Starting to rain tonight, and forcast is for rain the rest of the week.
Got a project going where I am replacing plaster with drywall. Amazing what thoes plasterers of old could do to square up a room. Me - I spent all afternoon shimming studs on an 8' section of wall so the drywall would not have 'wows' in it. Ended up exercising my table saw and jointer to make the shims, as the kid at the local big box building supply looked at me like I had a third eye in the middle of my forehead when I asked him about drywall shims. Sucessful afternoon - still have all fingers and thumbs intact!
Have misplaced my Guide to Lionel Trains 1948 to 1969 book. Want to research automated milk cars. I know I don't want one with coil couplers - but that still leaves lots of choices.
We have a new potential customer scheduled into the plant in the near future. Man are there politics galore and a frenzy to spit shine the plant. Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks.
Prayers for those in need.
All for now.
Don,
That must have been real exciting for Chris to meet Steve Martin. I was watching Steve Martin and John Candy in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles last night, which is my favorite Steve Martin movie. Welcome to Marathon...LOL.
Ray,
Sorry to hear about your friend.
Rich,
Do you have any experience with rust repair?
I spent the morning removing the instrument cluster from the Probe trying to find why the fuel gauge isn't working. Nothing on that car is easy. After fighting with the cluster for an hour to get it out, I couldn't find any issues with the cluster so I'll have to dig deeper. Hopefully, I won't have to drop the tank.
I intended to work on the layout tonight, but I ran the Flyer 490 instead. It really moves once it warms up, so much so that I would have probably had a pile up heart attack if it wasn't for Flyer's Deadman Control.
Jim - Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a great movie - love it!
Don - what a great experience, glad it worked out for him!
Ray SPMAN - so sorry to hear about your friend with ALS. Is he a Vietnam veteran? If he served in-country in Vietnam, then this would be a service connected disability and he should get his claim in right away for his wife's sake.
Killed more zombies with my son tonight - good fun :)
Char had a checkup and doc is just amazed at how well she is doing. I chalk it all up to you guys and the Big Guy Upstairs. The young man who was in the room next to her at the hospital with the same condition died in treatment.
Tardis is ready to fly, beacons on men!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Was a beautiful day. Tomorrow, well, today is suppose to be even better. Pam left her ferns out of the greenhouse. Yes, Pam [Rich's wife. Jack's Wife and my wife all named Pam. Bet theirs is not nicknamed LUCY!!!]. Was going to call Shake and Bake but reclinerized too long. Off to bed.
Sleep tight.

Good Evening,
Chris got home about 6:30 tonight. Didn't get much information, he ate and was in bed by 7:30. Said they finished work about midnight last night, then partied till around 4am. Also said a waitress tried to pick him up, but she was tooo old! I asked how old, and she was probably 25 ! Probably find more out tomorrow, (maybe).
A friend came over (Vision Bob, the guy that bought all the Vision engines and has the problem children.) Anyway he had the jet blower and new vision LCD photo slide car. He had put down a small raidus of tack to test the stuff. Then everytime he put an engine on with it the engine would die. So he brought the stuff over. I believe the fan on the smoke unit is wired backwards, if you left the smoke "fill hole" cover off, smoke would come out of that whole, actually in billows. No smoke out of any other opening. Then the engine was a 8380 Southern Pacific, found it has a dead battery was dead. (Remove power from layout and all sounds go off immediately.) The photo LCD worked well, and actually he purchased 3 of them! I will need to show him how to load stuff on the memory card.
Interesting stuff!
Don
Just got caught up on the pot after a few days off. We have got prob 2 more feet of snow on the hill. May be glad those snowshoes arrived today... honest mil surplus and they look tougher than heck.
Don - great to hear about Chris' exploits at the Awards! Very cool for him!
Brutus - that's just awesome news. Keep it coming!
NavyJack - glad to hear your wife is doing better. Prayers for you and the family.
Saw one of the Harry Potter movies for the first time last night and saw the Hogwart's Express.
Jim - the smoke unit arrived fine. Thanks again. Will prob install it this week on the hill
I also got a set of redone cylinder heads for the Corvair. Haven't opened them yet, supposed to be like new, even better than new. Saw the doc again today. The Holter monitor test didn't reveal anything other than my heart rate going up during my occasional episodes. She seems happy w/ the progress so far.
The van's engine finishes coming out tomorrow. I'll post some pictures of the greasy event.

And almost forgot. Just had date number 3. Showed her around the place. Figure I was in for a penny...
It is a clear 26 degrees. Sun is trying to come up. Going up to 60 today with some sunshine. This is the last day, this week, for sunshine. Rain is predicted for the next 6 days. YUK.
Today is a busy day. I have a few things to do and then help put away the groceries. Wife is shopping today. No train time, so far.
Physical Therapy went well , yesterday. I spent more time on the exercise bike. Right knee is a little sore today. Scenery looked good.
Buckeye is gonna post pictures of his lake house garden. Should grow fast with the warm weather.
Dog decided to bury the Census papers. They got smelly in the sun.
Dining car is here with a loud whistle. It's time for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
HI GUYZ,
29 here going up to 60!!!! Wow what a great day yesterday was, short sleeves were in order yesterday as well as today. Get out there a take a walk people.
DENNIS, felt great on all the demo just had to pace myself. PAM she did great, she was a little tired and sore. Go for your enclosure and indoor pool.
Stay frosty,
laz57
Good morning everyone. Have a quick stop over before heading to drop the car off. Bob, congrats on #3. If she is the one, I pray for many more. Holter test at least shows good conduction system. Means the issues with the heart are just a response to the other problem. Now to just narrow that down.
Gotta run. Will check in later.Dennis
IIABSDISEI with temps near 60!! I did a full work out at the YMCA (including treadmill) last night. Having the Soduko to do while treadmilling makes the time go by faster. I walk at a slower pace, but I bump the incline so I get the same calorie burn. Not so good on the juggling as I just did one double digit attempt. Still have not made it past 16. They have the little kids' program for soccer going on indoors and so they have goals up. The nets are loose enough I can bang the ball thru the net and have it bounce back to me. I practice both just kicking and scoring at the same time. Monday was old time radio night on Second Life. They had an episode of the Life of Reilly, which was pretty funny. Prayers going out to all who need them. Good news about Char, Brutus. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast after it arrived from "Points East". TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Aloha all. Sun burning off the fog. I'm retiring the winter coat for the season. Wet-top rails looked like lasers in the new sunlight, especially in North Ave. Yard. Metra had a 25th anniversary newsletter in the racks today - a hilarious read with all the rider complaints. Great news about Char! Mike, I cannot do soduku to save my life - but crosswords are easy. Go figure. Where do you find the OTR on 2nd Life? Congrats on date #3, Bob! I am bummed about Junior. Can't figure out what's wrong with his racing or cars. Daughter and bf heading back to Ohio this am. She's got a week of practice before first game Fri.

Good Morning All
A beautiful morning hi 50s for the next week, rain expected here also.
Grannys spring bulbs are shooting out of the ground, hurray new life has begun. Going to be a take it easy day but you working guys keep at it we need that huge SS check every one thinks we get....TTFN...S.J.
Morning all. Sunny and really warm. 70's. Our buttercups and etc are in full bloom. Open the glass in the door to greenhouse as needs more ventalation. Going to put lime on garden. Tractor is not ready. Waiting for some belts to come in [on order] as they are so old. May load up and go to the lake then. Off to the gym. Later.
PS: Dennis, won two engines at a very good price. More engines!!!!!
Cheapclassics/Mike .... finally someone who remembers " the life of reilly with william bendix " ... loved those and watched every one back when .... the tv show . Today I ask these young " 50's some year olds " about the show and they never heard of them .
CHIEF ... congrats on the engines you lucky rascal !
CHUCK ... great buddy am glad you're doing good ... keep on pumpin ....
Don ... the nerve of an " OLD " 25 year old woman .... LOL . Man what's he think of us ole codgers .... both feet in the grave .... .... or right down there in the same catagory as the mummies .... Dad burn whipper snapper .... as Gabby Hayes used to say .
Brutus ... those kids thumped the devil out of me last night on the xbox live .... except a few games I did rank #1 - # 3 .... darn kids sneak up behind me ... ... knifed me .... worst way to get it .... LOL .
Made a huge pot of homeade vegetable beef soup ... will be done in about 15 minutes ... homeade bread going in the oven next ... real butter for it softening on the butter tray .... drop by anyone who's hungry ....
Evenin' boys. Pleasant 63 here in the Mid-Atlantic region (easily the prettiest day of the year thus far). Burgers & dogs on the grill, then Fifepup and I are headed to boating/piloting class.
Chief, congratulations on the big buy! You are going to have more engines in a lashup then cars to pull!Spanky, if that is the train store I am thinking of, they will take good care. (Mt.Lakes?)Laz, saw on a different site where someone is selling one of those Natty B. cars for $800. Sounds like you have some valuable cars there.
Cases are winding down. Car is ready, but I will not be done in time to pick it up. Hope to arrange to do so with wife in the morning. I also have a dentist appointment, so will have to work around that. Got word from Lionel that my Legacy system is on its way back to me. Finally got around to sending it off. Quick turn around. I still have to get a adapter cord to allow me to use it with my KWs that I have for power.
Well, better run. Hope each of you have a blessed day.Dennis
Greetings from sunny Taxachusetts,
Looks like the back of old man Winter has been broken. Like SJ's, the daphodils here have forged their way to the surface. Tulips won't be far behind. Weekend in the 50s, almost hit 60 on Sunday. One snow pile to go/melt.
We have created a monster. Pam X 4.....Chief, Jack, Rich, and Laz. Is the Tardis being used as transport to keep up this bigamous situation? Can you imagine how rich she will be when she divorces all of us and gets half of all of the joint marital property?
Spanky......was glad to hear you little Tyler was thrilled with his birthday presents. Sounds like the two of you had a ball!
Lee.....we are still about 20 degrees behind you. Tomatoes will cost more per pound than lobster up this way this summer.
DougM......at the rate the animal rights activists are going, Chicago's Shedd Aquarium will be shut down. Not many know that Shedd has whales too.
Bob.....3 dates?! You are moving way too fast, unless of course she is independently wealthy. Could this be the "cause" Dennis mentioned of what the Holter was picking up?
Dennis.....no shooting allowed around here as we are "thickly settled." Never heard of that term back in the Midwest. We all like the pool idea. We'll bring the steaks and beer.
Chief.....prayers continue for your Mom. You bought 26 bags of limes? Laz and I want to know how many cases of Coronas you bought to go with them. Lots of pile ups forecast for you. Nice score on your engines. Send me your overflow.
Brutus......prayers continue for your Char, and the good news just keeps on coming. If you get antsy about having to put indoor projects on hold, Tardis over here and I'll keep you busy.
Fife.....you won't have to worry about grandparenthood because I suspect the boyfriends will never survive long enough for that to become an issue.
8N......nothing square in your place too? My house was built just 24 years ago and I think the construction guys were all drunk throughout the entire build. Wife picked out patterned wallpaper for two rooms. No big deal, right? Wrong. Doorways, windows, ceilings , and baseboards......no matter how you hung it, something didn't look right because you bouldn't get the patterns to run square with ANYTHING!
JimSP.....between you and Northwoods, there must not be many Flyer engines out there for the rest of us. Thank you for the pics.
Chuck......you had the laugher of the week with your dog! Mine lifted his leg on the wife Sunday. Now that was worthy of a "good boy!" Wife assault on husband commenced shortly thereafter, Doberman Maximus failed to pick sides and help me. Did your Doc put you on glucosamine and chondroiton for those balky knees?
RaySP.....prayers for your friend. ALS, brutal.
$1,000 engines = a ticket to an early grave in this household.
Navyjack......so glad to hear the good news about your better half. Prayers answered. Now while the iron is hot, suggest you play off Doctors' recommendations on stress and buy her some trains, new hobby both of you can share.
DonB.....Chris in a tux? You must post a pic. Thought you should have mentored him into marrying a supermodel over course of the week and then he could retire, buying Dad all sorts of $1,000 engines.
Pat....you've been eating too many of those cow pies.
Jon.....did you take the snow tires off the bike yet?
MikeC.....no news on Lucas must be good news. Prayers continue.
Laz.....what on earth did you do with all of the demo debris? Tardis it over to Brutus for his back yard project. He needs the fill. I know Coronas may not be your cerveza of choice, but Chief needs our help before all of those limes go bad. Maybe he will send us home with some $3.00 a pound tomatoes......what they are costing up here right now.
Later, gang.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
RockIsland52 Greetings from sunny Taxachusetts, Chuck......you had the laugher of the week with your dog! Mine lifted his leg on the wife Sunday. Now that was worthy of a "good boy!" Wife assault on husband commenced shortly thereafter, Doberman Maximus failed to pick sides and help me. Did your Doc put you on glucosamine and chondroiton for those balky knees?
Jack......Yes, dog is heavy into politics. I am taking about 2000 mg. of glucosamine and chondroiton daily. Wife takes 1000. We get the 1000 per capsule type. It really works. We ran out about a month ago and the difference was painful.
Hi GUYZ,
Beautiful here got to 62, had the shorts on and t shirts showing off the pasty whites of legs and arms. Took out landing bricks and restacked them by shed. Contractor and I marked off diging plot. They will start diging Monday, for footers. PAM, laz's WIFE is happy.
JACK, I have a 15 cu. yd, cantaniner in my back yard almost full. I saved the 2x6 rafters and some 2x4s and the brick. But rest is in dumpster. Not good for much, can't even burn it because of all the toxins like tar on the boards.
