 Evenin' guys

Had a short ride on the HD today, went to the open house at the local dealer.  Met a couple of fine Yankees (from NY state) and talked for a bit.  Was there for a couple of hours and then came home, did a little shopping.  VERY windy today, weather was great out of the wind.  Seems like a repeat tomorrow.

Change your Clocks & Check Your Batteries (in that SMOKE DETECTOR), I ran that program up North, I hope youse giz will do that...it's very important.

Dennis - on the fire related side, 8 homes in the community of Ocean Grove went up in flames this morning, including the Manchester Inn.  The Grove is just south of Asbury Park and I believe it is a Presbyterian or Baptist community.  Still has Blue Laws and such.  Check www.APP.com for video, pictures and such.  No one hurt, winds made hard, but looks like the guys made a good stop.

Ran the 2026 and a pair of BEEPS with no pile ups  Took off the Chessie 8633 for a while.

Off to spend some time with the Mrs.  Have a good night!

Good Evening everyone!  Has been a great day as had FIL and his bride down.  Lots of play time with the kids and then some great food.  Kids are in bed and I have been watching Modern Sniper on Military Channel.  Spoke to one of my friends out at Ft. Hood.  His wife is also a Col. and is about to be deployed for 15 months to the mid-east.  This is her second deployment for over a year there.  Tremendous sacrifice our military make.

Chief, certainly sounds like a unit that can be converted to two rail.  Are the flanges on the spare wheels smaller than the ones on the engine?  That would pretty much tell you.  The extra parts could be great for scenery when the Yanks come down to do that for you.  Not interested in PRR, but if it had been NYC or Southern, I would jump.  Sounds like you got two great deals there.

Set one clock forward (the important one next to the bed).  Will do the rest tomorrow.  Time to get some sleep.  I am on camera tomorrow and my neck is already hurting me.

God Bless,
Dennis

Chief, Once you run some Atlas it will be difficult to give up the PC/PRR even if you don't have any other of that roadname. The earlier models didn't have smoke and my one real complaint is the generic RS that they come with. Unfortunately they have pretty much priced them out of my budget, thank heavens for the likes of CHOOCHOO, E-Bay, etc.

HI GUYZ,

Well worked in basement all afternoon got display case wired and mounted on wall.  Went to church, then to golf course for dinner.  Great meal!!  Came home and took dog for walk.  Then ran trains for 2 hrs., NO PILE UPs!!!  Ah all is good with the world.  Tomorrow got to do a good clean up in train room.

Does anyone know when NS will send the office car special to the masters? I've stumbled upon a prime spot from which I hope to photograph it.

Sorry, it is an SD35.  Have not taken it our of the box.  TMCC, Railsounds, smoke and electrocouplers.  Will verify.  Got to go see if it is PC or PRR.  Invoice does not say.* [see below]  The other engine is a NS Dash 9 with TMCC, Railsounds, smoke and electrocouplers.  That is the one the box had priced at less than $200.  No joke.  New in the box.

AH, photos of the US 401 multi-laning ground breaking.

DOT Division Engineer and self with shovels.

State Legislative Member and self cutting cake.

Photos were taken by a Blackberry so not too clear.

Shot in cheap .22 with high $$$ Leupold 2X7 scope.  Used new rifle range at the pond.  Fred [hunting and shooting buddy] built a nice shooting table.  Bad thing about shooting.  Have to clean guns when through.  Especially today.  Got sprinkled on several times.  I had bore sighted the .22 and it was almost dead on at 50 yds.  Now to do the .243.  Got to get a 4 foot tall shooting stand built to get 200 yds.  Only got 100 yds right now due to a hill.  May not as guy who teaches carry conceal class and uses my range works for an equipment rental co.  Says he might bring bobcat next weekend and cut down hill 4 feet.  This will fix it so we will not have to build stand to shoot 200 yds.

Later.

* It is very detailed PRR.  Does NOT have smoke the best I can tell.  Has been test run from what I can tell but not run as traction tires show no wear.  Snow plow and screws sealed in plastic bag.  Spare traction tires sealed in plastic bag.  Now something strange.  Nothing in the owners manual to explain.  Sealed in a plastic bag are two axles, wheels and on the axles are brass gears.  Wheels do NOT have traction tires or a place for them.  Am I guessing it can be converted to two rail????.  It does have TMCC, Railsounds, electrocouplers and directional lighting.

THanks for the reminder to Spring forward, Sir J.

NavyJack, it is an MTH 'Brute' - standard gauge - huge, very impressive. He is redoing his gigantic window layout. He's taken out the slot car track he used to have - 20 lanes!

Smilewow doug, that bi-polar is cool.  i bet it was hard to leave it after watching it.  are they building a standard gauge layout at the store?  one of the things i miss is going to the train store.  having my pupils dilated for two hours after leaving.  the lionel bi-polar is one of my all time favorites.  i have never seen a real one only pictures.  you are lucky.  we are watching my grandson tonight.  sp california is a nice state, but expensive.  when i lived there i knew what poor was.  it was good that i did not have to have a heating bill, as i would not have been able to pay it.  navyjack

Good afternoon,

It is rainy in SE Indiana.  Watched the last "Numb3rs" of season.  Wife and I went to Chili's.  Waitress seemed to be hurrrying us.  Talked to her about it.  She said it was company policy.  Hmmmm.  Lucas got home ok.  Doing better.  Went to BMV to get state tags for cars.  Fixed pants hanger that I had commented on earlier.  Did go to YMCA for weights both days.  Paid some bills.  Getting ready to go to Mass now so I can watch IRL race at Dad's tomorrow.  Lucas is going to church with us for once.  I had donuts and cereal on the dining car for breakfast as it rolled in from "Points East".  TBIL anytime.  Welcome to Jim.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Aloha from a grey and rainy Crystal Lake. Helped the bride with her retreat for teen ministry leaders - Then look what I found at Woodstock Hobbies. Nice, huh?  I stopped by just to visit on the way home - and found a raised lighted watchtower I just had to have. Ran trains with the youngest - just the usual pile-ups.  Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Good morning all, had yankee grits for breakfast (oatmeal).  Had real grits and eggs yesterday.  Cool weather this morning but suppose to be warmer later on.  Big yard sale going on at neighbor house next door where house is for sale too.  Looked it over but no trains or related stuff.  Met retired fire fighter who has a Lionel train from the 50's and wanted to know what it was worth.  Told him I would have to see it first.  Sounds like he thinks its worth a lot.  Most non train people think that way.  Have to order new eye glasses next week since I had cataract surgery a while back.  Will be without old frames for about a week but don't really need glasses except for reading now.  Our church is joining others to participate in something called "crop walk" to raise money to help feed the hungry.  Participents walk a predetermined course and get other people to sponsor them with donations.  I think its only about a three mile walk.  My son is going to represent us.  I would do it but don't know if I can go that far without a bathroom break sometimes.  The event is tomorrow afternoon.  Still tinkering with my cheap yard sale CD player.  Sometimes it won't play the first two or three tracks on a CD.  Tried cleaning what looks like a lens that reads the track and cleaned all I could reach where the CD goes.  Some CD's work while others don't.  I don't know anything about CD players.  What the heck, I'm lucky it works at all.  I only paid $3 for it.  I just enjoy trying to get something like that working.

Have a good day all,

Ray

Smilehello guys hope that you are all fine, it is raining here today and in the 50's  that pennsy engine sounds cool chief.  does it have all the sounds?  i have a green pennsy sd-45 by williams.  it has reverse but no sound at all.  the atlas one is very detailed is it not?  i am glad i heard from rt, pat and submmbob.  was worried about you guys and am glad you are all ok.  thanks jim for remembering us in your prayers, your flyer project looks interesting.  had a plummer come over yesterday.  water was leaking from sink upstairs and leaking downstairs causing light fixture to smoke.  got it all straightened out.  found a good plumber, who is satisfied to make a christian profit.  prayers for everybody and our great nation(it needs all of us).  navyjack

Greetings from St. Louis, where it is cold and damp today - figures, it's the weekend.  Plans today include grocery shopping, laundry, trains, and maybe kill some zombies on the xbox.  Got a Harmony remote - runs all our stuff, very cool!  Click Watch TV and it runs the tv, cable and stereo AV tuner.  Watch movie - switches over to the bluray and HDMI2, etc.  Even runs the LG dvd recorder.  I need to hook up the CD player.  I wonder if it would run TMCC?  That would be super cool!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Morning all.  I cooked breakfast for wifey.  Little link sausages, eggs and toast.  She asked for GRITS so she got grits.  She had her's with melted cheese and mine were with butter.  All topped off with OJ and then coffee.  Now to shave and shower.  Going to Tractor Supply for a couple of things.  Still real warm and rainy.  Fish are moving in the pond.  If it stops raining, I will fish some.  We have not had a lot of rain but several counties and the lake house county are under flood watches.  May unpack the two new engines and run them.  One is a black Pen. Central GP35 [Atlas].  Anyone interested in it, give me an email.  If not, it will become a NS in the near future.  Black is easy to "redo".

Chat later.

Morning all

It has been raining like crazy!  The Ohio is very high not quite at flood stageyet but with all this rain it may be soon.

Several errands to run and a few projects only one train related.  The rain will prevent tree trimming which has got to happen soon.

Check back in later this evening.  I'll keep your alls special intentions during services this evening.

May God bless

Jim
