Been to her house a few times, stayed up waiting and she never shows up. I always wanted to see her but NO CIGAR. Oh well at least you get the hairs to stand up on the back of your neck now and then.

A clear, crisp 3 degrees this morning. At least we had sunshine all day for a change.
I visited Hampton Rhodes some years back where the duel between the Montior and Merrimack took place. Was much smaller than I had imagined while I was reading the historical accounts.
About all for now.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good night all. Reclinerized again. Taking Tylenol Arthritis for left shoulder I hurt moving docks in a week ago. Makes me sleepy. All I have to do is sit down and I'm gone. Those docks are going to get me [remember almost cut the end of one finger off several months ago]. RT called for some info earlier just as Lucy had awaken me to go out. Took her out and went right back to sleep. Rain has stopped and now cold. Wind is suppose to blow tomorrow. We are under a high wind warning. May hit gusts of 50 mph or more. With ground super saturated, trees may fall over. Was going to call Cousin Shake and Bake but too late now.
Sleep tight, Admiral Eagles

Evening All !
Got about another 3/4" of rain today, probably will get a little more tomorrow. Ray will probably have completely different information! He is at located in the foothills, about 20 miles due north of me. Hope he isn't doing any "Slipping 'n Sliding . As a matter of fact I'm going to be in his area on Wednesday doing a presentation for the Glendale Sr. Computer Club.
A friend of mine came over last night with his new Lionel 0-8-8-0 Pennsy steam engine. (Vision Line). Nice engine plenty of detail, all of the controls are in panels on the top of the engine! That is very cool. The blow down feature is cool, as is the smoking whistle. The bell was not working, don't know if it came that way, or happened since he got it. A little bit expensive, though, even if it is a "Vision" engine!
Bob, You better tighten down the hatches! Another "Weather Incident" is headed your way! This one isn't quite so bad, but nevertheless an event and certainly more snow.
Looking forward to train show this weekend in Long Beach, their also is a Railroadania show this Sunday, don't think I will make that one. It usually has a LOT of interesting stuff!
Camera class going well discuss differences in batteries today, (alkalline vs ni-cad vs lithion). Still looking forward to the software section.
Going to call it a day!
Take care and God Bless !
Don
Found you again!!!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 11 degrees. Going up to 34 today with a chance of some new snow, Only got a little snow last night.
Today is busy. I have an errand to run and some phone calls to make. I love sitting there waqiting for the automated answering service to get me to a person. After I press " 1 " for English.
Maybe I will get time to run trains this afternoon.
Dining car has rolled in. We are having an omlet for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Well......Chief's curse is finally coming home to roost here in the Northeast. Apparently someone is going to flip a switch as the local news announced it will start SNOHIOing at 10AM. Have been bouncing around between NBC, ABC, and CBS locals. It seems I have a choice for the amount of snow I am going to get here at the entrance to Cape Ann, North of Boston. The range is 4" to 14." But I can't figure out what button on the remote to hit to make my selection. Comcast snow on demand, right?
WOW! Welcome back long lost JohnB. I recognized you immediately by your accent! If you had declared your North/South affiliation sooner, Admiral Chief would have let you back into the Pot months ago. We'll be sending you some Snohio on the jetstream.
Jack.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Good Morning everyone. Have enjoyed the nice chats posted here. Welcome back John B. How are things across the pond?Chief, take care of yourself. Make sure you have plenty of help next time you mess with that dock. One good deed that you pay for with a week of pain.Regarding the small nature of Hampton Roads, I have seen a number of places that rarely meet the expectation in the mind from stories read. I am still amazed at the amount of land traversed by armies on foot during the Civil War. We are hoping to arange for some vacations to places that include some Civil War history to do with the kids. This spring, we may head to DC to catch up with my Dad, but will also make some trips to Roanoke, and some local battlefields. We have a lot of history down these parts, but it is more condensed in the Mid-Atlantic area.
Well, the inspection of the OR went well. Only suggestion was with regard to ceiling tiles outside the actual operating suite. Good to see that we are doing things correctly. Just a validation of the process.
Hope all you folks getting slammed with more snow are able to take it easy. The hobby shop where I won that Georgia Power caboose from is located in Ohio. Guy was going to send it today or tomorrow, but I told him I was not in a rush for it if the weather is bad.
God Bless,Dennis

good morning guys, hope that you are all ok. we got four more inches of snow and it is windy. snow blower broken, toro. will have to get fixed. admiral, you should have subordinates do your work for you while you bark orders from afar....ha...ha...anyway glad you just have a few aches and pains and your injuries are not more serious. what was the css arkansas? i am very interested in the old ships. when i first went in the navy, i saw an open gun tub cruiser in the mothball fleet in san diego. it was quite awesome then. i think the cruiser was from the spanish american war. i have watched the ted turner film that i have called the ironclads, over and over. i also like the film gods and generals, and loved the series the north and the south. the first time i met southern boys was when i was in the navy, and some of the guys never had shoes until they joined. i was always happy to have them at my back as they were great shipmates. there was a lot of kidding about yankee etc., but everybody got along, and were one against whatever enemy we were facing. navyjack
Morning all. Almost hurrincane winds. Some trees down in the area. Hope no trees down in Roseyville. Suppose to get worse this afternoon. Got meetings most of afternoon. Bet some go down at pond area as sitting on rock and no deep roots. Snohio at the lake house and black ice too [per news]. Schools closed in Mecklenburg Co. VA. Glad I delayed going to lake house. Off to the gym in a few. May have to get new desktop. Downloaded 11 updates last night and hit restart. Will not come up this AM and shows error. Desktop is 12 years old so abouttime. Got buddy that does Town's computers and sure he can fix.
Maybe trains later. Got some supplies from Michaels last night to work on some scenery.
See Doug M has not signed on. Hopehe did not get shaken up last night as earth quake hit IL.
Send all the snohio north you can, Mother Nature. Yanks trying to blow us REBS off of the map.
Elk hunting on TV so will go back to it.
Later
Done, will take about a hour for me to settle down to normal. Same after grass cutting.
Laz, eggs go on the stove, gas goes in snow blower. Old Mils can go either way.

23" so far this storm. 54" for the season. 2" more and we set an all time record.
Still waiting for Al Gore to fly his gas guzzling, air polluting jet in here and help us clear the farm paths of all this "Global Warming" so we can feed the cattle. WHAT!, hes not cumming? Another broken promise.
The tractor pulls out the truck, then the truck pulls out the tractor, then the tractor-------. Where does the time go??
Train room? Oh-- that Bldg out there half covered in snow. Haven't been in there in some time. Hmmmm, did I turn off the trains last time?

Still snowing here ... they went ahead and called all the schools off in a 3 state area for the whole week . Seems they can't even get the snow removed from the roads and streets anywhere .... huge piles and no where to put it . Side streets and roads are about as they were after the first one . Bucu cars still buried and no sight of folks getting them out . Alot of snow plows broke down .... even companies shutting down ... crazy . The storm is sort of turning around in a circle now ... not moving north as usual . The darn yankees must be blowing alot of wind towards the south down the mason dixon line from pennsylvania .... looks like we'll have to invade Gettysburg again and do it right this time ... LOL .
Thank the lord no power outage here .... the yo-yos did'nt go out and knock any poles down .... they usually do . Probably because their cars are still buried .
Aloha all. Snowed all night but still school here today - have to plow out the driveway before I go out to pick up the boys. We probably got a foot but the garbage trucks and school buses still work. Not even a good delay. Fought through to go regular grocery shopping and the van's emission check. Like Chief said, I woke up at 4 am to a sharp crack and then the whole house shook with a rumble - a little 3.8 earthquake but centered only a few miles away - an unknown fault. As if property values weren't low enough. LOL. I'm sure being productive ... finished cataloging all the family dvds that were converted from VHS last night. Think I just missed the Tardis. I'll look again tonight.

SIR JAMES,
LOL!! At least it doesn't cause brain freeze?
Good afternoon all,
It finally quit Snohioing in SE Indiana, but the wind keeps blowing drifts. Stayed home today as three interstates were closed with wrecks when I got up this morning, and I did not want to make it four. Watched the "Danica" show of the ARCA race last weekend. Did go to the YMCA last night, but may not do so today. May run trains and build with bricks. I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car from "Points East" this morning for breakfast. TBIL any time tonight as soccer scrimmage will be called off. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana

Afternoon everyone. For those getting lots of snow, if you are young and agile enough, make sure you don't allow too much snow to pile on the roofs. If you are otherwise, pay a few bucks and have it done so no roofs collapse. Fife, a neighboring town "Ridgefield Park", NJ had a similar thing happen in the loss of one of their fire stations. Many of the fire stations are older and have issues. Town budgets keep them from updating. In RP's case, they are a Volunteer FD, so that didn't impact the budget as much as many paid departments. At least everyone got out OK.
Well, it is a bit on the chilly side down here. Not supposed to get any warmer for tomorrow which is bad as we are going to do that Agri-Rama trip that was cancelled last week because of the rain. It is all outside, so time to break out the cold weather gear.
Stopped off at Hobby Lobby on the way home from getting our son. Picked up some Paint Markers for weathering the rails on the layout. Tried the spray paint route as mentioned in one of the books I read. Mixed results on that, but I did get a lot done that way. Just some final touches on the rails. Also, picked up a mix of different Balsa wood sizes. Plan on completing a building to fill in one area on the layout. Lastly, picked up a self - healing cutting mat for cutting foam board and other material. Violin instructor is not feeling well today, so I have a few hours to work on the layout....YEAH!
Check in later,Dennis
Bob, Jim and Brutus, thanks for the eye surgery prayers.. Surgery went very well. Doctor says no problems just get well.
Don, I think we got about two inches of rain up here yesterday. Rained hard a couple of times I had two feet of water behind my garage but pumps took care of it.
Navy Jack, I like the Civil War films too. I have a copy of "Gettysburg" but not Gods and Generals. I read both books, however. I read a lot about the Civil War for a while. Learned a lot more about it than I did in school. In those days, the teachers in the South called it the War Between the States. I guess they figured that there was nothing civil about it.

Glad you're recovering well, Ray. Lead editorial in yesterday's Chicago Tribune was on the joys of collecting tinplate Marx trains! "Collecting: It's not just a hobby, it's an obsession" by Ron Grossman
Slow day .... only my jeep and a neighbor on his snowmobile going on these back roads . Pennsylvania just announced they shut down I-81 above us ... told all travelers NOT to try to navigate or enter it .... heavy fines and no assistance available if they get into trouble in the icy/snowy conditions on it ... special alert on our local TV channel .
Heading for the Bay and firing up the tardis .... I've been digging out train goodies and organizing for some serious " git er done " activity .
Good Evening
Main streets are clear, side streets have snow but easily traveled.
Doug how did you like that new alarm clock, bet that was some suprise.
Ray glad your surgery went well, have a quick recovery.
Still have some banilla for the Tardis gang and a few root beers.
Ray...Glad your eye surgery went well. Heal quickly.
Fifedog...... No more indoor Bar-B-Qs
Congratulations Baltimore!!!
You have a new record for snowfall. Now don't get too excited because you still have a long way to go to catch Buffalo at 199.4 inches or Cleveland at 117.9 inches.
Ain't it fun!!!!
There is a certain amount of irony in a fire house fire.
As SR on-scene OFC,when asked to give an update on conditions, I summed things up as such..."Well, let me see, the White Guard units are advancing on Yuriatin, Strelnikov's forces were reported somewhere south of Moscow, and Zhivago is held up at Barikino." Only the older folks got that.
hscsltb - Had to be surreal waking up to that 2-alarmer in your own quarters...
SPMan - Hey Ray, can you pass me the Splenda...it's right there next to y...oh, never mind I got it...
