Mornin All.
Jon, Hope it's not an exterior wall, frozen pipes.
Haven't posted much, just kind of lurking about. Started packing up and putting away the Christmas Trains. Was totally exhausted after friday's museum run, the DCS was being a real bear to work with and that's what we all brought to run.
Brutus, Sounds as though things are finally moving in a 100% positive direction.
As "Shake-n-Bake" said, the weather has been a tad boring. A few degrees above normal during the day and just the opposite at night. The sun really feels good on the arthritis though.
Ooops, time to refill the mug.
P.S.
Doug M., Just looked at James, he's been in hibernation while the Christmas trains were out, and on ours the side rods are held on with those funky lookin hex head screws.

Good Morning,
From a chilly south Florida, temp was near 34 when I got up this morning. Supposed to stay chilly for a few days, so I turned the heater on for the first time in almost two years, need something to take the chill off inside the house.
The RV left out for the consignment sale on saturday(1-2-10), hopefully I will be out from under it in a few weeks. Spent almost ten days cleaning up RV in order to sell it. Also took out the 240 volt outlet in the garage area that it was hooked up to. Going to put 120 volt 20 amp outlets in the garage area for power tool useage, and maybe an outdoor light.
Had a bite on selling another trailer around here on the property.
No news yet on my Bachmann Plasticville tank car's arrival date, I ordered the Williams by Bachmann clubcar for 2009.

Good Morning
Overcast and 22, thats where it will stay for today.
I have played with toy trains all my life so I guess I have learned a few things. Some questions can have more that one answer, It's the posters that insist their way is the only way that annoys me. Some more rearranging today with no outdoor plans. Tomorrow I must drive granny to the Doc. as her office is on a very busy road that granny does not want to drive on. A good breakfast this AM. Scrambled eggs(w/onion and green pepper)sausage gravy and biscuits....S.J.

Ditto fifey's weather here.
Don B - I am truly sorry you have to suffer from such monotonous weather. No snowmen, no snowball fights, no crisp invigorating air, no exercise shoveling, no glistening trees, no dormant grass, no winter kill of bugs.

Kooljock1 No gym yesterday. I got called home for a plumbing emergency. Something is plugging the laundry out-flow pipe... and the laundry room is on the third floor...over the dining room... SO... I now have to buy a snake, repaint the Dining Room and Living Room ceilings... and I was hoping to have extra cash for the Big E show in Springfiled??? Jon

Uh-huh. Sounds like a case of Johnson's Axiom----Things occur in direct proportion to the $$$$ available. In this case outflow pipe gets clogged so that $$$$ goes to fixing and repairing---rather than one's trains---

I woke up this morning to another broken pipe up the road from us---all this dang snow is now covered up by frozen slop----just lovely---and we're still getting nuisance snowsqualls on top o' it all. And our high will be -9C---yay

Mornin' boys. Flurries here in the Mid-
You know what you can do with that brown grass
Good morning all,
It is dusting Snohio in SE Indiana this morning and temps are cold. Office is warmer than yesterday. I did soccer drills, weights and an easier 1 mile on the treadmill last night. Miracles do occur! I came home from work and the trash can and recycling bin were already out in front of the house! It seems the "saucy wench" and Lucas' girlfriend "persuaded" Lucas to bring those around for his dad. Also the sidewalk was swept!!! I am not if this is what the Chief meant in his comment yesterday, but it ranks right up there at the same level of rare occurrences (jk). The "saucy wench" and I did some errands last night as well. I also got an e-mail from my Brazilian exchange soccer student from last year. I had bran muffins on the dining car before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL later on this evening. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
HI GUYZ,

Hey guys, just to say Hello,
I would have posted more but with the discussion of weather going on. But, I really didn't have anything I could add. It seems we haven't been having much here, the temperature has been pretty much a constant 75-80 ever since New Years, and haven't seen any clouds in the sky. (Just an ocassional jet con-trail.) So didn't want to be boring. And repeating the same thing.
Did set up a dynamic display at a show we did on Sunday, with a Printer, Marine Battery, and Inverter. Boy did it work well!
Got to get going, need to go and water the grass before I forget, its getting a little brown.
Don
Dennis;
Thanks for the caution. Dr. only did the balloon procedure once. Had a second endoscopy the next year. Dr. showed me the before 1 and after 2 pictures. Like night and day. No irritation on the lower esophagus.

Just got finished baking the beach sand from Florida my son brought me back .... wish I was where it came from tonight ! Had to make sure any critters or bacteria were fried before creating a couple sand cars . Too darn COLD !!! Hateing the winters more every year .
Getting upset having to click through 700 + car loads to check O scale on Ebay by mwinternetauctions ... why they did'nt just put 50+ of each available ... instead of 100's of individual ones .... the idiots ....
Another beautiful sunny day here. Started at about -1 and got all the way up to the mid-'teens. The new battery in the truck passed the cold weather start test this morning.
I traded e-mails today with the people I was working with in Spain last fall. They had some snow over the weekend, then some rain. Interesting phrasing on the interaction between the rain and snow - they said the rain was causing molten snow, which was causing problems with traffic. I think it is safe to say that most of us are not having problems with molten snow here lately.
Got a bid in on a Marx 666 and a few cars on E-bay. If I win the bid, I'll sell the cars for cheap to my friend who's 666 I tuned up.
Sir J - I've noticed a lot of threads lately where a simple question is asked that sparks a large philisophical discussion. Usually interesting stuff, but sometimes not very helpful to the originator of the thread. Yup, I've contributed on a couple of them. I'm starting to take a little longer to consider if what I've written will really help the discussion or will just be more noise before hitting the 'Post" button.
All for now.
Evening all
Cold and snowy outside. Got the new section of fastrack around the tree. Love that Polar Express.
Jim T - Here is what I use to "bake" my paint jobs. It keeps dust off the pieces and the combined 100 watts off the lightbulbs let me paint and keep the project outside in the garage.
The top was the discarded top off a warmer and the lamps were discarded exit lights.
The surface temp on the hood gets to about 120 degrees.
May God bless
Jim
No problem Jim. Mel, just make sure they don't keep trying to open the stricture with a balloon dilatation. What happens is that scar tissue builds up. They can do it a few times without problem, but there is a surgical procedure for that that will fix it. Problem comes when too much scar tissue will limit any success that the surgical procedure would have. Just something to watch.
Well, was not too bad of a day. Had to do a little "training" for the new guy and also for a nurse who had never had a patient like this one. Hope to not get too many calls tonight or I may have to go babysit the patient. Went to Home Depot and picked up several cans of spray paint. Painted an area that is supposed to have a concrete wall. Will have to see tomorrow how it turned out. Even though I had a base of latex paint on the extruded foam, I did see some areas where the spray paint was causing some pulling on the foam. It is only in the seems of where I placed expansion joints. If this is the case, I may be able to use it to look more realistic with some kind of "mortar" to fill the joints.
While I know I don't need any more pieces of rolling stock, I did pick up a Industrial Rail car at Hobby Lobby. Was a flatbed car with a early model car on it. Looks great and with the 40% coupon, came out to $21. Also picked up a 1/48th scale tank to put on a flatbed car. That was on sale for $6.
Hope it is a good night where ever you are.
Dennis

Good Evening
Oh be careful painting in the basement. Open flame from the water heater or furnace and ka-boom.
Well it reached 23 today that could be our High for the week, just a few snow flurries though. I did some display rearranging in th train room today, tough decisions about what to take down but had some new I wanted to see for awhile. Banilla is ready for the Tardis gang so come on by...S.J.
Dennis, SJ, Mel,
Thanks for the info.
I continued to work on the Flyer Hudson restoration today. All castings have been stripped and will be primed. I need to get set up in the basement to spray these since it is too cold to paint in the garage.
Hey guys - sounds like a lot of good stuff going on since yesterday here. We had company over and I didn't get on the computer yesterday afternoon or night.
I finished drywalling the stairs - used a template like JimSP recommended and that was a good thing, because I busted off one of the cut out sheets Saturday. Reused the template yesterday, then worked up the stairs to the top - done Still a little let to do here and there, but the whole basement is about done now except the bathroom.
In-laws came to visit last night and today I took my wife and sis-in-law to the hospital for lab work and exams. After, we had a consultation with the head doctor and he said the chemo could start as soon as a couple weeks from now, depending on the results from today. We'll believe it when we see it, but if he is right then we might get in before Feb and be out before March, which would be great!
We got up to 19 degrees today, but The Weather Channel informed me that it "felt like" 0 degrees! No Stuff Sherlock!
Luckily RT had the keys and was able to step up last night - I've got it back washed and filled with gas Let's hit it guys!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
RRCharlie Jim; I was having that problem. Doctor did an endoscopy, found a slight hiatal(sp) hernia and the beginnings of acid reflux tissue damage on the esophagus just above the stomach. While he had the scope there, he ballooned the esphpagus, put me on prevacid, drug plan switched me to omeprazole a while back and have not had swallowing problems since!!!

Nexium fixed mine. Once in a while [after really over eating] I have to take a couple of Alka Seltzas.
They work great for me.
It is COLD!!! and getting colder. Then get above freezeing during the day on Wed and Thurs. Then some light snohio Thursday night. Weekend even colder than now. Just for sending us this cold stuff, I hope you Yanks pee icicles.
Off to Town Board.
Good Afternoon--
Had a wonderful afternoon of sunshine!---after we got a surprise of 6" more of the dang white stuff which meant I was doing the snowblower thing again
It basically sat at -8C all day---even with the sun------but ----HEY!! it was SUNNY out!!
Now, they're saying it'll get more squally this evening------
Got to get ready for supper---LTR
Another unfortunate sign of the times.

Well, as usual, my office is a disaster area, the other office dwellers have come and gone, and I have a mess to clean up. Go figure....
It was a BRISK 26 this morning at 730 and it is now a balmy 43. Looks like that’s it for the temp rise.
Made a clean sweep of the area sales, have more trees and buildings. Sears was a GOLD MINE and had a few more things at a severe discount. Might run back for a little more stuff at $8-15 for Lemax is a HUGH bargain!!
We went to St. Augustine last night for a little ice skating and the weather reminded me of Jersey. Princess and I had a great time, played some carnival games and then saw the King for dinner. Great time for sure.
Will have to get back into the train room soon, just to get everything organized and put away. Tree and other Christmas items may be put away this weekend, but, there is a train show in Deland Saturday and Sunday, so I might just be able to hold it off a few more days.
Back to the grindstone, check ya later!

My Giants are lousey .... ... been getting shot down big time on Ebay ... LoL . Oh well saves me money . Still have'nt figured a good functioning way to put a descent looking/working coupler on the front of them ... don't want to carve up or screw up 3 brass engines ... RT said he wanted to see duals or all 3 linked but man it's just not happening . Brutus ... did you get your drywall up ?
What's that old saying ... ups and downs .... I just wish my hair would stop falling out !
Good morning
A cloudy 19 this AM. not going up much from there. And another cold weekend forecast. I think I would like to sleep till spring, all I would miss is cold temps and snow. Did you ever notice how hard it is to help someone on a forum? Everyone has a different opinion, some good some bad. Oh well we shall survive. I am going to work in the train room today, want to rearrange some train displays.
What helps me swollow a large pill is to toss the pill in first, take a huge mouth full of water, bend my head back, and one big gulp. the pill goes down with the water....S.J.
Morning all
All the kids went to school this morning. The oldest felt better so off she went. Swung by the local place that sells train stuff and picked up a couple of 3' fastrack sections for $12.99 each. He has a 322 DC that I am looking at, but I don't know if I'll spring for it or not.
Battery died this morning in the Avalon, quick stop and new battery in. I am going to go to Columbus this morning to pick up my bride at the airport. I am glad the battery died here in town and not at the airport! Thank you Lord!
Buckeye, you going to be home this weekend?
Stay warm and may God bless
