Fifey, you keep us laughing all the time.  Makes this forum so much fun.

Sunny and warm after 1.1 inches of rain over night.  Some was pure downpour.  Was real windy too.  Been watching Sniper-behind the crosshairs.  DVR'd it from the History Channel.  That was paused a lot due to Town phone calls [Will not leave me alone].  Really good.  The program said Marine sniper rifle has 2 1/2 lb. trigger pull.  I have installed a 2 lb. pull trigger in my .17.  Doesn't take much to fire it.  Ordered an electronic predator call from Cabela's [along with a camo shooting bag/rest and fiber cleaning rod for .17].  Time to "remove" some foxes and possibly a coyote or two.  BTW: neighbor is back home sober and crying "I'm sorry".  

Off to the gym.

Good Morning,

Back up to 80 for a daytime high again, and looks like rain. Cold weather over and I will have to wait for my electric bill to see how much we spent for electric in January for the cold snap, a.k.a. artic blast, down here.

Was over to yahoo.com and saw some bad news about the economy again, a lot of stores cutting back and laying off people, even Blockbuster Video and Sam's Club(Wal-Mart owned) is laying off or closing stores. Looks like 2010 is going to be a ruff year.

Going in to work around 1:30 today, don't know if I will work again before saturday or not as that is my next schedualed day.

Put the RV on consignment about three weeks ago and have not heard a word as yet.

My cousin was down from Philadelphia this past weekend in Stuart FL, got to see her for a short time on saturday. She says the antique business is down as well and she has to find other work.

Morning all, yesterday was a quiet Sunday.  Ran trains for a little while for first time after rains.  Layout is still working fine with no moisture problems apparently.  Had smoked ham and cabbage for dinner.  Yum yum!

NavyJack, glad to hear that you are attempting to get a layout.  Any kind of track will work.  027 tubular track is probably the cheapest and has pretty sharp curves.  Fastrack looks nice and has built in roadbed but makes a lot of noise on a table top unless you put something under it.  It's more expensive too than tubular track.  I have some Fast Track curves and I think they are about 030 if I'm not mistaken.  I just use that around a Christmas tree etc.  My regular layout has Gargraves and some tubular track.  Gargraves comes in three foot sections and you have to bend it yourself.  They might have some sectional track by now.  I'm not sure.  Atlas track is solid T rail I believe.  Some others on here might tell you more about that.

Have a doctor appointment this afternoon for check up with my gastrointerologist.  I'm sure he is going to schedule another colonoscopy to follow up with my UC problem.  So far meds have been keeping it under control.  Don't look forward to drinking all that junk for the test,  Yuk!  Pills are better but I don't think they will give them to you if you are over 70 for some reason.

Ray, your gastroenterologist is surely your best source of information. That said, I know a guy whom no one seemed able to help. (Not sure of his actual technical diagnosis.) After suffering for several years he began eating one-third of a cup of Kellogg's All-Bran "Bran Buds" cereal EVERY morning. Be sure to discuss this with your doctor prior to trying it, but it is a real back-to-basics remedy, and when it works, it works in just a few days. Good luck.

Evening.  Was so warm today that I came out of gym in shorts and short sleeve shirt and was warm.  Just got home from pizza place [they donating 20% tonight ot Haiti] and still warm.

Pond at flood stage and horribly muddy.  Never seen it so muddy.  Farmer's field must have washed into the creek.  Water from over the rock and from school yard was basicly clear.  Water running down the in the path [solid rock] and all the springs around the pond are flowing again.  

Now looking at a Remington 700 DBL in .243.  I think Nikon has a tach. scope with lit cross hairs and the wide duplex with red dots horrizonally and vertically along the duplex.  Scope will cost almost twice the price of the rifle.

Time for some rest and TV.

Good evening everyone.  Was a bit of a fun day (being sarcastic).  On my way in, I run into a sales rep for one of the products we use.  Tells me an item is on back order and has been for some time.  He only has 3 of these items in the warehouse.  While our time is working out as several guys are on vacation and we are keeping a light schedule, so we are able to get more items in....This is NOT, I repeat NOT the way to run a railroad, or medical supplier for that fact.  Could have been real bad.  The rep should have let me know as soon as the items were on back order.

Ray, Fastrack is 036 as the smallest and it goes up from there in increments of 12.  One idea for such a layout would be to have it hinged on the wall so that it can be raised when needed and lowered into place to allow for some train running. 

Chief, the 700BDL is a great weapon.  You may want to check into a Leupold scope from Premier Reticle.  They make the scope/reticle combination for the military.  243 is a great round for shorter distances too.  A moderate sized varmint's nightmare! 

Trying to get last minute things taken care of over the next day or so for our trip to Tennessee.  Probably not going to bring the violins along as I doubt we will take the time to practice.  Besides, not good to travel so long with them in the vehicle.  Too much temp extremes.

Got a reference number from Bosch and a local place will come fix the dishwasher Thursday.  Had a good long talk with my wife tonight and she was having a good day today.  Since I was under the weather for a couple days, I won't plan to go visit for a couple days.  Found out my wife will have bi-weekly doctor appointments for a while after she gets out, so my folks have offered to give her rides to the doctor for most appointments.  Her Mom might come in town and help out for a while here and there too.  She's visiting this week to help the kids out mostly, which is greatly appreciated!

Got LED's, TVS's and resistors on order from DigiKey.  More headlight conversions when the bits and pieces get here.

Dennis, from what you say, I must have 036 Fastrack if that is the shapest curve because that it is what I have.

Went to GI doctor today and colonoscopy is scheduled for a week from today.  Have to take the liquid prep this time.  Start with one gallon and drink half the first evening and half the following morning starting 5 hours before procedure.  I will have to get up at 4;00AM to be ready for a 9:00AM appointment.  Not looking forward to that.  The best part of the whole thing is when it is over.

It is a cold 26 degrees with an inch of snow on the ground. And it is still snowing. Going up to 36 today with more snow. Love this weather.

Today, I am taking it easy. I had my first out-patient physical therapy yesterday, at the local Center. It went very well, but it was painful. Today, I feel stiff and need to do some exercises to loosen up. This is going to be fun. Screaming is allowed.

Dining car is here with the usual for breakfast.

Just finished digging out from a horrible blizzard.  On Sunday they had predicted about 1" of snow with wind, we ended up with 6.4" and sustained winds of 40 MPH and gusts up to 54 MPH.  Interestate 80 & 35 are still closed in places, extremely dangerous storm, that follows the major ice storm of last Wed., we can't catch a break.  Oh well, we just deal with it, some folks in NW Iowa have been without power since last Wed. and now this.

LOVE those hobos    Not much more happening in Maryland ... snow showers expected friday ...     Have to lay some plans for building some booms .... seems most logging camps/sawmills used them instead of cranes ... even on cars .

 Another trip to the woods with my pruning shears for some real logs have to remember to take a bag for some cool real rocks . Always forget one . Gotta go check on some bids .....

Aloha all. 14 right now and dropping still. Today's the exact middle of meterological winter - whatever that means Remembered at the last minute last night that it was the youngest's 'school night' at the local Culvers - you go, buy a burger, the school gets some money and the youngest sees his teachers. It was a madhouse. Then home to watch some Office episodes with the bride. That show sometimes rubs me the wrong way because it's too realistic - I work with similar yahoos and don't need to be reminded of them. Guess I need to lighten up. Long day with class tonight. Will be looking for riders on the train home.
