Morning [really noon].  Slept till 8:30 and phone rang [Town Commissioner wanting a briefing].  Really was not too long ago I was up [4 AM] from cell ringing.  Neighbor's wife was in Raleigh and the daughter that stayed behind to calm down Daddy was at Exxon up the street crying.  Seems Daddy was getting drunker and since wifey was not there, throwing af it claiming she had run off with some man [??????].  Slaming and banging.  So I dress and drive to Exxon and get daughter in truck.  Call PD to check in with me in case Daddy wants to come down the street.  15 minutes later wife comes driving up and get daughter.  Daddy's sister comes up about the same time.  Every thing stays cool.  Got home and could hear cussing and "GD's" flying around inside.  Now sister, her hubby and more of HIS family there and drinking.  They are the problem.  They bring the alcohol and get him going.  Mostly because he now has money they can try to get from him.  Wife and children are in Raleigh with oldest daughter.  Told her to stay there.  PD is aware and watching.  If he gets too bad, he is gone.

Now for a shower and shave.  Might run to Edna's and pick up a flat car with bassboat on it.

Sunny and warm.  Rain made everything soggy.  Later.

Good afternoon all,

It is cloudy and mild in SE Indiana.  Got the March CTT yesterday and read some of it.  Some impressive collections and some nice layouts.  Really the two on the display layout.  Congrats on page 30 to one of our own!  Also check out page 43.  Is that Shake and Bake's neighbor boarding the Tardis?  Good ride on the Tardis last night.  TBIL anytime.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car before sending it on to "Points East".  The "saucy wench" is gradually getting better.  Unfortunately, train smoke does not work for her as it does for "Fifey-wifey".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

After reading the Chief's postings about his neighbors, I do believe that there must be a Federal Prison nearby that feeds the population the idiots and dolts needed for the his stories or do we assume that this is the normal unscrupulous population of Roseyville.

Yesterday, I had a great kidney stone attach while I was at work.  It was a 5 mm rock.

So today, I went back to work to complete pay estimates and change orders.

Needless to say I read fifey's wild dream sequence.  Booze combined with drugs must be the real culprit.  I can't wait for a real saucy boat story this summer.

Really a crappy day here today.  It is 46 with no snow, wind or rain.  The only redeeming winter feature is that the sun is not out.  I was looking forward to shoveling about five feet of snow this January.

Went to the World's Greatest Hobby on Tour show today at Dulles Expo. What a mess. Way over crowded, way to many strollers. My count showed at least 300 people still in line 3 hours after the show opened.

Must have missed the B-J auction last nite, tuned in but wasn't on so assumed it had been postponed due to the very ugly weather there. One of my "novelty" favs so far was the Crosley Fire Truck but the price was a shocker. At least we are getting some sun today and no rain. Approve Til tuesday. Sad

The munchkin was here overnight so we went to Chuckie Cheese for dinner, food is yuck but he had a ball. He liked the changes that grampa is working on for the Thomas Table. Blueberry waffles and sausage for breakfast, his favorites.

Later all.

P.S. Fife, I like the Iowa I. paintjob but I wonder what it would have looked like with the R.I. Wings paint, one of the best paint schemes ever.

It looked like it was teeming in Scottsdale during the B-J auction, and when a convertible was won, it looked like they just drove it off into the wet top-down. Can't imagine that.Survived Chipmunk movie and cleaned out 'hobby shelves' whilst running trains all afternoon - no pile ups. Gearing up to drive clear across to Winnetka to visit with some friends from college along with youngest - long way away. Oh well. Spoke to bride - had 4 hrs sleep with all the teen shenanigans at camp - she's got another night tonight with them.  Going to storm tonight Sir J and then looks like it is off to you and Mike. Bitter cold returns Mon.

Fife,

You should switch from Protosmoke to the original Gilbert formula.Smile,Wink, & Grin

DougM,

That is my kind of meal.  As long as cheese, bacon, and meat (except pork) are involved, you just can't go wrong.Dinner

SJ,

I like to use coal Protosmoke occasionally. Strong stuff.  The wood burning scent is very nice as well.  It is the old LVTS Hickory.

I just got in from rinsing the Sunfire and starting the PGT.  I haven't driven it since September, so I start it every few weeks so that the battery doesn't die.  As soon as the weather is nicer, I will drive it more.  I would also like to take the stock muffler off as it is way too quiet.Big Smile  It seems like all of us were watching Barrett Jackson last night.  I was watching while taking the Christmas layout down.

Good Evening guys.  I am sure that Fife appreciates the suggestions, but I think he will stick with his current formula for smoke production....he's ahead of the game on that one.  Jim, you may want to look into a glass pack muffler....they'll hear ya coming.

Wasn't feeling well most of the day.  Just taking it easy and trying to keep the kids from making the house a mess till after SWMBO gets home.  It would be good for me to show some effort.

Chief, sounds like a real domestic mess next door.  I know you have stuck your neck out for the guy, but unless he knows to keep the trouble away from him, it is going to be a rough road.  Will have to add him to the prayer list tonight.

Hope everyone has had a great day and the week ahead is blessed.

Good evening all, went to train meet this morning and it was dead on arrival.  Only two sellers and nothing to put in the auction either.  Did not hang around for door prizes.  Our layout man was not there today either but one member did set up a small layout and ran some trains.

Chief, bless you for trying to help out your neighbors.  I hate to hear stories about people who can't handle the booze.  Alcohol has caused so much heartache in the world.

Weather is beautiful here today with sunshine and no rain.  Snow is covering the high mountains around Southern California.  Suppose to be like this until Monday night and then more rain.

Watched a little bit of the Bob Hope Classic golf tournament on TV this afternoon but only recognized a couple of names that were playing.  Some of the big names have not started yet I guess.  Watched an interview with Arnold Palmer.  He is everybody's golf hero.  I joined his army way back in 1958.  He was talking about how well his grandson is playing and he has been trying to help him I suppose.  Always nice to hear from Arnie.

Have a good weekend y'all,

Ray

On the way back from Miss Edna's, Pam called and wanted to go to WalleyMart for dog treats.  Then we went to new one where her parents live.  Had to visit In-laws.  Just got home.  Got two new things for layout.  One is Bait and Tackle Store and the other will make Buckeye salivate with envy.  Will show tomorrow on SPF.  Now for some popcorn and TV [if I don't fall asleep].  I think Fifey and Wifey are making "home videos". Shock  Later.

Chief--the best thing you could do with you neighbor 1.  Help the neighbor load a moving van 2. Buy the property and rent it out yourself with selective references.  3.  Move to either the lake permanently, or move to Iowa/Ohio and your "issues" are solved forever and you and I (or Buckeye) can provide daily counseling, fantastic mall for Ms. Pam.  Trust me.  Quit your whining.

50 and rain all day.  Not complaining 'cause if it had been 20 degrees colder there would be at least 6 to 8 inches of snow to shovel by now.

Fife - now, now, this is a family forum.....  What kind of smoke fluid is that again?

No joy at the LHS today.  The Boy Scout Laws box car is not here yet, and the conductor with lantern for my PE announcement coach seems to be back ordered.

We greased the econmy again today.  Got a recliner for the bedroom.  It will give my wife a place to sleep when her alergies flare up and she has nasal drainage problems.

Barret Jackson does seem to be a common thread.  I was reclinerizing in front of it after my wife went to bed.  The one that I noticed was the 1957 Chevy 'Black Widow' tribute car.

Later all.

Good night all.  Yankees are being quite tonight.  Think they are busy trying to find the grits hidden in their freight cars that traveled by Roseyville.  Yes, I hid a few grits in every car that was here.  That W/S rope will work wonders.  Did get to see the last half of the sniper program on History Channel.  Got it set up for DVR'ing at midnight.  Then get to see it all.   Had guy from Vietnam war that was world's gratest sniper.  Then they had the Marine who made a one mile hit.  Then Canadian that made the world's longest shot.  A shot of one and a half miles in Afghanistan.  Good night and sleep tight.

Good night guys - waited for a call back from my wife, but she must have dozed off again.  Nice chat with the guys.  Had a nice day, but looking forward to doing nothing tomorrow.  Need to just rest and get some energy back.  Still have a couple loads of laundry to do as well, but that's about it.  Mom and sister came over and vacuumed, dusted, made us some food and did laundry for us - what a deal!  Found out my Dad slipped each of my kids a $20 after I had taken him to lunch and the movie with us.  Guess he didn't like that I didn't let him pay for us.  Oh well, they are excited and I remember those days as a kid.  Maybe I'll take them to the book store tomorrow.

Tardis is ready - I'll use the wayback circuit and follow all those beacons.  Banilla sounds great to me as I have some left over birthday cake and also some toll house bars Smile

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Mornin' boys.  Overcast and 37 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Expecting lots of rain from the left-coasties.  Woke up with a stiff neck.

My bad.  Seems I mixed up posts yesterday.  The other site got the explanation on increasing tension on a LIONEL O-72 left hand turnout. Hee. Dunce Sorry.

Where were we, Ah yes, hope to see two good football games today.

Co-signed a TCA membership app for a co=worker this week.  He may slide by to check out my layout later on, so got to get downstairs and finish wiring that left-hander.

Aloha all. Raining a bit but warm - all the snow melting just in time to freeze tomorrow. Bride comes home later. She's going to need a week to recover. After going to church with the youngster, I'm going to take him out for lunch and some new shoes. None seem to fit. Then maybe a drive over to Cabelas just to look around. I've never been and it's not that far away. Ray, I was privileged to meet Mr. Palmer a few years ago - a class individual. Brutus, let me know next time your dad wants to go to lunch. Messenger not working for me - was 'looking' for you and the guys last night. Watched B-J after coming home from mini-reunion. Everyone looks the same - except our kids are older. Big Smile
