blownout cylinder Good Morning! laz 57 BUCKEYE, just smash that LUMP with a hammer and you'll have lots of it. Done that with coal as well---makes for a good all round ballast in my scale!! laz 57 RT, sorry for your loss, prayers to you. Agree here---cherish what you got from him- Prayers for you as well as his family We had just enough of the nuisance snow--about the usual 1/2" dribble---that there was a fellow skidded up onto a neighbours front yard and ended up about a foot from their house Now the weatherguessers are saying we could see snowsqualls and get about 6" of the white fluffy stuff today---otherwise the usual 1/2" snowdribble will be our lot-- Got a photograph of something I'm going to scratchbuild for next years Xmas tree layout---does anyone have a diner in the Xmas tree display-- Located in Woodstock ON--probably over 60 years old---under the same name. Like to come here and hang around as it is only about 100 yards from a CPbranchline and a CN main jtn.

First thanks guys
Now reason for quoting anybody other than me see something that isn't a normal anymore in most cities in the pic which use to be everywhere when we were growing up? Laz and those up his way may be still normal up there as I remember seeing one in ephrata I think the last time there.
Good afternoon all,
It is cloudy, cold and Snohioing in SE Indiana. I took the truck in to have the windshield repaired. Good thing as they were amazed it had not broken. An angel was watching over me.... Lucas and the "saucy wench" went to Indy for one of his checkups. All clear. (For those of you who are new and/or wonder about my belief in the power of prayer and/or wonder why I post here just about every day, Lucas had testicular cancer about three years ago. Thanks to the Good Lord above and the support and prayers of this wonderful group of people and "my" soccer girls, Lucas was and is fine.) The roads were fine and they had no problems getting up there and back. I stayed home and did some household chores. I had streusel on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL, and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Afternoon all
The snow eased up during the night and covered the ground but the roads were clear. We got the swing set in the ground and level last evening. We finished pouring the concrete and backfilling the holes under the lights. Now just keep the kids off till the concrete cures a bit. This evening I am going to try a get a coat of paint on the 592 and 600 crossing gates I’m refinishing. They are primed and ready for the white undercoat.
Fife – I’m trying to find the flyer I picked up at the Duke Energy Train display I had pictures of on the SPF. I am pretty sure it is the original B&O layout. IT has an interesting and colorful background. I’ll get you more info if I can find it.
Chief – I had no idea about the Ithaca value. I’ve been using it as a sporting clay gun. It is open choke and if you get on it fast you have it. My 870 has seen a lot of time in the woods. Always wanted to get a slug barrel, but being left hand the left hand slug barrels are not too common. Yep, it is heavy!
My layout list is shorter but daunting especially the first one:
Clean out “the dungeon” better know as the basement
Prep area for layout
Plan new layout
Start to build new layout in basement
May God bless
Jim
Aloha all. I learned we've had 6 minutes of sunshine since Dec. 14. LOL. Only 14 degrees too. Trying to figure out why the water in the bottom of the dishwasher is the color of milk. Something's not right. I'm going to try a rinse cycle with white vinegar in a cup. R
Rich, the Pantheon webcam is the best for Roma. I love to look at it. Hope the princess is enjoying her.My layout list is not that long: - figure out what is shorting out Percy's track so he's not running. I'm sure something has disconnected.- fix Jame's traction tire.- move post-war semaphore closer to the layout 'front'..- run the new old Hornby cars - after linking them up with the never-fail rubber band coupler connections.

Hey BARRY,
One time the weather man predicted flurries for us, we received 12 inches of flurries. Stay safe.

Hi GUYZ,
Cold one here at 28, I'm going to take flintlock out today to see if I can find a deer. Going to run and do some lifting of weights then off to da woods.
BUCKEYE, just smash that LUMP with a hammer and you'll have lots of it.
RT, sorry for your loss, prayers to you.
Stay frosty,
‘Morning Guys
It was 46 this loverly AM going up to 55 then down to 27 tonight. Then I’m off the rest of the week !!
Thanks to the web cams, I’ve been looking in on Roma, getting an idea of the weather and such. I was amazed that there were so many people out and about at 11PM Rome time. Weather there is in the high 50’s, +6 hrs for them, time wise.
Fife – I know exactly what you mean. The G-men needed a win and could only manage 9 little points, so, yup I hope they loose next week, so the playoff thing is over with. Under achieving at it’s best. I couldn’t see the game, Those Florida teams were more important .
RT – condolences on your friend and mentor
Well, need to get the end of month rolling, then update the internet. It’s gonna be a LOOOOONG day.
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Mornin' boys. Cloudy and a breezy 41 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. More snow coming end of week, which may thwart travel plans...hope not.
Yesterday was no good. Our local NFL team displayed its usual immaturity and undisciplined behavior. I said some bad words. I truly want the RAIDERS to trounce them next week, and end all the playoff talk nonsense...they simply aren't worthy (so says my 15 yr old son).
rt - My regards to you on the passing of your friend.
HI HO, HI HO it's off to work I go. Somebody has to pay for that huge SS check for the Chief.
Laz.....I got a lump.
We got snow! A total of three inches! A record for December 27th. The ponds are frozen, too.
Ran trains for visitors yesterday. They could not believe the electronics in the locomotivew, the hot box car and the caboose. The hot box is a show stopper with all the noise and smoke.
Does anyone else make lists of what work needs to be done on their layout? Here is my current list:

CHIEF CADALAC, WELCOME to DA POT!!!
Hope all had a great CHRISTMAS and STAY FROSTY,
Good evening
A do nothing day so I guess I can handle a trip in the thingy. Banilla ready and lots of cookies. Snow has melted but more is forecast......S.J.
Howdy guys - we have maybe 1/4 inch of snow on the ground, but roads appear clear - no big deal.
Well, I spent the day hooking up the stereo system and stuff to the tv - we have been running on just the cable and dvd player for a couple weeks. It took forever - finally figured out that the tv was equalizing the sound before it went to the stereo - maxed that all out, turned off their electronic filters, and viola - stereo works fine with the tv.
Tardis is ready and missing my banilla rations - let's get going!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good evening, Checking in to see what's happening. Didn't do a whole lot today except go to Church and eat a lot of leftovers from the Christmas dinner. Been working on a horse stable for the 6 year old to match the doll house I built her last Christmas. This is for her birthday at the end of January.
Fife, Our prayers are with your Mom.
Have a great week all.
Hay RT - good to hear from you.
Sorry about your friend. Everyone needs a mentor like that, fortunately most of us have or had one.

Nope never heard of him.
Hey pat hows it going been keeping busy working. Lost A great friend and exboss from when I was in VA. he was 98 when he passed he would be 99 if he lived the 29th of Jan I was hoping he made it to 100 thou. His wife is still alive I believe she's 94 they were married for 76 years. I sure will miss him. I still think of his wisdom when I need some guidance and remember what he would say ( or I believe he would say) in such a situation.
Not much else happening other than Lowe's messing up on my Xmas gift it was suppose to be 2 skil sets at $59.00 each not one but they remembered to charge me for 2 thou
Well just got home so time to unwind and relax talk to you all later hope all had a good weekend I'm off tomorrow so time to kick back and relax may go to the den and run the standard gauge set
Good evening all,
It Snohioing in SE Indiana today. Not too much, just enough to cover the ground. Stayed up late last night. Did go to Mass this morning. Cleaned up big limb that fell into the yard. Went to the YMCA and did soccer drills and weights. I had ham and biscuits for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Aloha all. Tiring day. Snowed all morn - I think we got another 10 inches. Helped the neighbor clear things up early this am, then took the youngest sledding before everyone else got out there. It was nice and quiet but cold. Then took the kids to spend their gift cards at various stories. Picked up Band Hero - a video game - for a good price. Then discovered we need another remote to use it - which proved impossible to find today. Add an extra drive to the mall to let the daughter into our second car when she locked the keys in it and all the rushing around to crazy-clean the house before dinner guests tonight and I'm pooped! Blowout C., our two cats love to perch in our tree. They're big too. Drives me batty. Welcome to Chief Caddy!! Have a pleasant evening all. At least I don't have to work this week!
Mornin' All.
Finally starting to wake up, mentally. What with all the Christmas & compny preps I have been dead tired, all of which was followed by the Kid's Club fun run yesterday. Got home about 6pm and in bed at 8:30
Jon, Spring skiing? Depending upon Mother Nature you could spend the morning & afternoon on snow skis then stroll the beach before B-B-Q'ing dinner. Or better yet reserve a beach side table and let someone else do the cooking while the waiter brings you your bottle of wine.
Blownout Cylinder, One very important suggesstion for your under the tree train. You definitely do not want to use "Kitty Litter" as bellast.

Buckeye Riveter Fifedog.....Prayers for your mother. I assume it will be a long hard fight. Chuck......At home sounds good doesn't it? I need the dates that you will be at OSU. Since Wes works there he can pull some strings for you to see that the nurses are beautiful. Yesterday was uneventful, except for the kidney stone I passed last night. Today, I believe I will sit and look at my lump of coal.

Buckeye...It will be a few weeks. Make sure that Wes has his Limo ready and is wearing his little white cap.
Just lost my post
Snowing in St. Louis - looks like it finally quit. I made biscuits for breakfast, but the women are still asleep.
Had a good visit last night and my aunt gave me one of my uncle's old pocket knives, which was great. He gave me my very first pocket knife as a kid. I cut the heck out of my hand and kept it a secret somehow - think "you'll shoot your eye out, kid". Miss Bill a lot, but he's in a much better place this year than he was last year at this time.
Prayers are out for FifeMom, JimSP and family, Chuck and all the rest of us.
TTFN!
Buckeye - great picture additions to your web site lioneltrains2.shutterfly.com/798. I see a lot of good times (and no coal)!
Morning. Sunny and warm. Yankee cold wind coming and temps dropping by tomorrow AM. Then low to mid 40's for high all week. Off to the lake house. Whole "crew" going.
Sturg, the bottom dejection is an older one that was featured on the Outdoors Channel [or VS] this past week on Guns and Ammo. Worth a few $$$ there. I have an 870 I bought when I was 12. Hunted it hard [especially during my rabbit hunting days]. Been reblued twice as rubbed the blueing off of the receiver from cleaning and carrying. Got three barrels. 30" full choke [came with it], 26" with polychole [added and used for years] and 28" with RemChoke [new]. My 870 weigh a lot more than the newer ones as made of heavier steel.
Buckeye, great photos you sent me. Baby Buckeye is growing.
Hope all have a great week.
Later.

Buckeye - Ouch! Hope you are feeling better today.
BTW...For the record, I was nicer than you in '09. However, I shall strive to be naughtier in '10.
Good Morning
Overcast and 26, a lite snow overnite, just enough to make things slippery.
Enjoy your sunday, wow 2010 is just over the next hill.

Still celebrating Christmas. Going into town to # 1 Daughter's today for dinner and gift exchange. They couldn't make it to the farm because of the blizzard. Hoping for more John Deere toys for the layout.
Blowout - Welcome back. It may have been a while since you stopped by, but I notice you have 3700 posts in 13 months! WOW! Keep it coming!
Fifey - I see you are flying Blueberry Hill colors.
Welcome Chief # 2.
Buckeye - I hear if you sit on a lump of coal long enough it turns into a diamond.
