Mike C., don't think I am going to make it.  Been reclinerizing and now about to crash.  Guess old age is creaping up on us.  Tried to get Don B. to do the new one as he is thelast one to see the old year go.  He told me to start the new one early.  I always do as I am told. Whistling

Well, meant to get back on around 9, but we were playing Super Mario Brothers on the big tv - son kicked all our rear ends - he knows all the tricks Laugh  Oh well, we had some fun.  Now we're watching him and teasing him when the turtles get him - ha!!!!  Good Wii game, but I don't understand the controls.  Screen is lit up and we can use the wayback circuit to go back and get the rest of the guys, then go forward and follow the new year all the way around the planet if we want!

A little early, but HAPPY NEW YEAR!

PS - DougNotaGrump - good job with the kid!

PPS - Laz, you da Man, get that Doe!  My Dad has a coupe black powder rifles, but no flintlocks, sounds like fun though Smile

PPPS - Did you WHO guys see the episode The Waters of Mars where he said he was Dr Fun!  That was so funny!  I think David is making a big mistake stepping down, but time will tell.

PPPPS - Good job, Brent, looks great Smile

Good evening all,

Getting cooler in SE Indiana.  Had a nice evening with family friends.  Doug M., I think you will like the Sherlock Holmes if you see it.  No Jeremy Brett, but still a good job.  Some critics panned the lack of character development of the villian, but it is leading to a sequel with Moriarity, who was a "real" Holmes villian.  Dennis W., since you are off the rest of the week, we will swing by and pick you up for the Tardis run tonight.  Even the "good doctor" needs some R&R from time to time and you can have a conversation with Doctor Who himself and may be compare medical notes.  Chief, not sure if I will stay up to welcome the New Year on the 'pot with you or not.  If I do not, I wish everybody a Happy New Year!

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evenin' All !

Quiet day today, working on an Atlas building kit. Saving the energy for the museum tomorrow, 5am alarm clocks are the pits.

Yesterday was cold & rainy all day, just plain miserable to go anywhere. Today was just gorgeous, nothin' but blue skies and lots of sun. Oh, did I say it was really warm. Whistling Big Smile

The last of the Christmas company visited last nite, they have an 8 y.o. who is an absolute trainnut. He had lots of fun running the Christmas Trains but you should have seen his eyes light-up when I put my SD-40, Desert Victory, on the Christmas tracks. Gave him a quick TMCC tutorial and he was off-n-runnin, he's one of the very few kids I've never had to tell to slow down. Think it kinda knocked his dad's socks off as well, gave his dad the CTT edition with the "underbed rollout layout".

Oh yeah, just one more thing,

Happy New Year Ya'll !

Thanks Roy. I haven't decided what color(s) to paint it. I'm thinking white since it will match the wainscotting. Still have one more long shelf to build, then probably 4 shorter shelves for the opposite wall.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Fellas. Hope everyone has a safe and prosperous year.

Happy New Year you guys!

Been a long time since I last posted. Been a very busy year. Daughter graduated high school in the spring and is off at the local junior college. Son is a junior in high school and just got his drivers license. At least I got to see several of you at the spring and fall Yorks this past year.

Brent - the shelf looks great!

Roger - glad to hear all is well after your scare. Saw your photo credit in the lastest CTT! Nice!

Again - all have a safe New Years Eve and a wonderful start to the new year!

Regards, Roy

Roger Bielen

Its been an interesting last week of the year for me.  I had a stent installed Tuesday afternoon.  What was initially thought to be minor blockage ended up being a 98% blockage.  Someone up there was watching out for me and gave me enough warning signs before a heart attack that could have happened at any moment.

You are exactly right.  God bless.  I had by-passes in Nov 04.  Found doing CT on chest and then other tests.  No heart damage and that is what I said too.  God is looking out for me.  Glad you are doing OK.

God watches over all--I had a heart arrythmia found here just a few years with me. After a couple of fainting spells I finally got the thing diagnosed and now I'm doing better with it.

I am so glad that you all are doing well-----

My Tardis - Here you see Chief bringing in the grits for an "air raid" that time he borrowed it last year - I think Buckeye was out of town?

Jon and Barry, welcome aboard and feel free to take turns driving or hanging out in the train room, video room, or the Baker Lounge Laugh  Our Tardis was upgraded by Rich and Laz, and Mike redid the control panel last year too!  I think Pat made the last adjustment, changing "NO GRITS" ala SJ to "MO GRITS" Laugh

I see Lionel has shipped the Stourbridge Lion and cars Thumbs Up  Hope I get my set in the next week or so!

Well, we've got cases of Old Mills, Miller Lites, Sam Adams, and Fat Tires!  We also have nachos, chips, popcorn, banilla and some sweets that RT made!  I am pretty sure that Don's Giant 3-Tier cake was giggling earlier, too Laugh  We'll wait for a few more beacons and then hit the sky!

PS - Roger!  Glad you are doing better and they caught it man!

Hey Roger, God was watching over you.

Nice photo shoot in CTT as well.

Calls from the Old Country, all is good, Princess is just waiting to come home to us.  Saturday night she should be here.  Almost New Years Day there, but, of cousre, all the webcams are down now.

Dennis, nice to see you back on the "job".  I will be making the pilgramage to Jersey to celebrate the new officers and the 175th Anniversary of my fire dept.  Will be fun.

Happy New years guys, Angel for us all healthy wealthy and wise!

Roger, now be a good boy and make sure you take your Plavix.  At one point, they used to tell patients that they could stop after a while, but too many in-stent stenosis have been reported.  Take your medicine and just watch out as it will make you bruise easily.  Great to hear that you got a new lease on life.  Stay healthy friend.

Back from down south and the sandhills of NC [very close to Rockingham].

Kool, welcome to the POT.  Glad to see you psoting on here.  I know you have helped with questions asked on the forum.  Glad to see you have joined us here too.

Dennis, now you know why you became a Southerner.  All that snow and Yankee BULL.

Pat, no freezing here.  Very warm and damp but not raining.  Was foggy earlier around noon when I got in.

LAZ, only 4 shots and got sniper scope zeroed to hitting the bottom of the X at one hundred yard.  Now suppose to compensate for bullet drop to 300 yards for .17 HMR and my bullets.  Also set windage [was what was off a little after mounting] to zero.  Then I can "dial" windage changes.  It also changes focus [a dial on the left of the scope with distances marked] for each distance you dial for range.  Duplex crosshairs.

Buckeye, the three bay hopper car is loading for next Christmas.  you'll get more than one lump

Will be here tonight to start a new Pot.  Wifey wants to go to early sale at Stien Mart tomorrow AM and then go to the lake house.

Can't buy anymore firearms as safe is now full [since so many have scopes, takes up more room].  BTW: my pilot buddy and firearm expert says Ithaca double is worth at least $700.  Good buy for me.

Later.

OK, I'm back with some photos from the NJ trip.  Hope they come out here.  I decided that since this semi train related, I'd keep it here, but also, since a new thread will be started tomorrow, it will not cause too much problems with the bandwidth.

CRRNJ terminal
This is the CRRNJ Terminal where passengers would load/unload from trains to ferries and back to NYC.
Statue of Liberty
Statue from the backside...living in NJ, you get used to that.
Susie Q engine facilities
NYS&W engine facilities
NYS&W old signal
Old NYS&W signal
HFD headquarters
Took the kids to Fire Headquarters to visit the gang.
Christmas Fire
This is the house fire that we helped out with on Christmas Morning.  Fortunately, all got out with only minor injuries.
One other thing about today....the brother of one of the kids in my son's 2nd grade class was accidently run over and killed by his mother.  He was 3 years old.  A tragic reminder of how precious life is and our time here.  May you all be blessed in the year to come.

Happy New Year all,

Don, I will be doing good to even stay awake until midnight, much less howling at any moons.  Bill Monroe sings about some blue moon in Kentucky.  Didn,t know we had one too.

Ready for a ride in the Tardis if it comes by here.

Laz, keep your powder dry.

TBIL My first New Years Eve in the Tartis. Will Don B have his neighbor on board? Approve

Pat,   The neighbor has passed out fliers, announcing they have a new supply of Noise Makers, Bells, and Tassels that they will be using tonight.  TongueMischief  Should be interesting!!!

Doug, I sure you have re-inforced the security system there.  Ever since your car was here, Harold has remained.  He seems to have secured a "Helio Pad" on top of the control tower in the engine yard !  Will have to post some pictures.   Terrance and Bertie seem to be moving in as well!  Hmmmm

Doug, yes, the West Shore Line was from the terminal in Weehawken, NJ (right across from lower Manhattan), where the ferries dropped people, etc. off and ended at Bear Mountain, NY.  From there, it could pick up the line to Albany, NY, or any number of connections.

Well, we had a couple of cases cancel today, so I got out early, however, I will start call Monday and so we will have to contend with those cases then.  At Least I have off through the weekend and hope to have a great New Year.  While I am at it, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone here on the Pot.  May God Bless each of you and your families.

Good Morning

37 and 1/2 inch of snow overnite. But  the cold air is coming.

Oatmeal and toast for breakfast. I am still not feeling good, Nyquil helped me sleep though.

I think Brutus bought the TARDIS off of e-bay but not sure, will have to check on that.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all..............S.J.

Do I need to mention you would feel better if you had you know what instead of the oatmeal? Add the Nyquil to "it" and come away from the table smiling!

I heard Brutus bought the Tardis plans off of e-bay and built the Tardis himself. That guy is talented.Thumbs Up

Aloha and Hau'oli Makahiki Hou to all of you! Grey and snowy here. Won't see any moons, blue or otherwise. Spent a gift card at a very nice steakhouse last eve with the bride. They offered free wine sampling while waiting for a table which was kind of nice.  Today, visiting a bit with some buddies at a local coffee house, then hosting an early celebration with a young couple who have had a hard year.

Dennis, where was the NYC's West Shore Line - somewhere in NJ?

Papadiesel, I survived grocery shopping with only a glare or two...my most ill-timed comment: "Do we usually spend this much per week?"

Rich, I'm sorry the Princess isn't enjoying herself - I found it practically impossible not to enjoy Rome. Hopefully the trip is redeemable for her.

Mike C, so you liked Sherlock Holmes? I'd like to see it but the trailer looked stupid.

Jon, the MOW car arrived on home rails yesterday - after a year and 7,000 miles - how fun!

Don, I'm bringing in a  few new aircraft to Baker Field today.

Good morning all,

It is Yuckkkk in SE Indiana, just miserable (Freezing rain, slush, as Cordy would say on "Angel","Ewwwwww!).  Finished a book on WWI in Italy last night.  Friends are coming to our place for New Year's Eve tonight.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East".  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
