Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 63 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Gotta cut the grass this morning, as it's gonna rain the rest of the week.  Pulled that inflatible pool up last night, leaving a perfect crop circle in my back yard...maybe I'll call CNN...?  Heck, forget CNN, I'll call HLN. Hey Fifey!,Smile,Wink, & Grin

Found you guys at #11 at last. half the month gone AGAIN! before I catch up.Angry

Was out in darkest Derbyshire last Saturday, we bumped into 6 young ladies from The University of Georgia, they were spending the semester at Oxford University. It was a real pleasure chatting with such nice people, their parents can be proud of them.Approve

We are experiencing some real fine weather (an Indian summer) here in sunny Stockport, Hope it stays Like this or improves for Christmas (***! I've used the dreaded C-word).

Called in the sampling rooms (Grapes) last night the Robinsons was in fine form and an excess was consumed, this Yorkshireman is a little earthy today, so a hair of the dog is called for-good day(hic!).Dead

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Went to soccer practice and then to the YMCA for some weights and treadmill action.  My dad came by while we were getting supper ready to introduce the lady he is seeing.  She is a nice person, but the timing was really bad.  The "saucy wench" and I did get to watch "America's Got Talent" finals.  Hard to pick a winner.  Did not get anything else done.  I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast and sent it on to "Points East".  TBIL, and we can watch Leno if you want.  Pick me up after the game as it will be a rough one with one of the top 20 in the state coming for a visit.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Took the weekend off from the computer again. Back on the hill for another few days. The subreflector is down and has left the building. Progress anyways. Almost cold on the mountain tonight. We are heading into fall. Nearly time to start thinking about collecting photons again.

Jim - thanks for the info on the Probe. Would be good to see it run again. Sounds like a project for when I visit at Christmas. When people ask me how often I see my brother, I say 3 months or 3000 miles...

Well hopefully a few more productive days here on the mountain. May end up having to use more vacation next week. Appointment on Monday, then the doctor's visit in Phoenix (#1) on Thurs. morning and the diabetic education class back in Tucson in the evening.

Went to see my doc on Friday and got the equivalent of a smiley face I think. She's happy w/ the progress so far. Still wants me working around others on the hill for now,  but hopefully by the time we start operating that will no longer be an issue. All these prayers do work so more for those who need 'em.

Howdy guys!  Hey Bill F - drop in on chat sometimes, you are missed Smile  Tardis is ready to fly - running late tonight, sorry!  Mike you can drive, I need to get someone to check the pipes, lol!

Finally opened up the last two issues of the TCA mag I got - they come in sealed envelopes.  BFOC is on the cover of the latest magazine, looking super spiffy!  I wish I knew what figures were on it?  I need to read the article or whatever tomorrow and find out (I hope)!

Chewy got a beauty appointment today, but she is not happy.  They trimmed a little too close here or there.  I hope she is not chaffing!

Just found out that Lionel will be releasing the Clinton Dewitt - yes!!!  EXCELLENT news!  Now I just need to return all these textbooks and that flute my daughter needed and some school clothes Laugh

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Mostly sunny, low 80's today.  Started out with light rain at sunrise this morning.  Another impressive rainbow.

SJ - You live in Michigan.  Replace your 9 year old battery.  This will be the year that it will just say rrr, rrrrr, click, click some frosty 10 below zero January morning when you try to start your truck.  Been there, done that when I was living in Michigan.

Work is still there and I am looking forward to the new Lionel catalog.

Good Evening

Another nice day at 83.

I received the new Lionel catalog today. Seems lacking in steam but has some nice diesels.

Took a nice walk today but did little else. I am trying to decide what to do about my Ranger battery its nine years old with 17000 miles. I think I will get a new one although it appears to be ok. decisions, decisions. Banilla is ready for the Tardis crew so lets get going..S.J.

Hey Rich, remember the Big Blue Wrecking Crew?  Those were the days.  LT is still my favorite player of all time.  Glad he has worked through his "issues".

Did some running around today after work.  Had to take son for post ear infection check up.  He's fine.  Then to dinner at Red Lobster.  All you can eat shrimp and I did my best to get my monies worthDinner

Upon arrival to the house, found a box from The Train-Station.  I got a K-Line Statue of Liberty for the layout, along with a CNJ and a FEC boxcars.  SWMBO reminded me of train restrictions....ouch!
Have one case in the morning and then I should be done.

God Bless,
Dennis

Morning all!

Nice chat with Brutus, RT & SJ last night.  Sure miss talking to you guys.

Kids have the sniffles, and 4-yo sounds a little froggy.  Maybe keep her home from school today.  Both are irritable.

Did see some of the Lions game.  Saints sure look good.  Breese was on with the passes.  The Lions, were the Lions.  Hopefully they can pick it up some more during the season.

Good Morning

A nice chat last nite with those listed above. Interesting how many subjects can arise from just a little chat. Granny fixed a big breakfast so a walk and no lunch are on the list. She is out already so I will go it alone Oh yea we also had long lost Kurt and RT.

Enjoy your Monday....S.J.

Aloha. Beautiful day for a Monday - no moisture though now for quite a while. Bears were awful. Nice Tardis ride with Charlie, Brutus and Sir J. Patriots on tonight, but I realize I have something going on every evening this week. Yuck.

Morning everyone.  Morning 53, glad you could stop by.  Had a morning prayer breakfast at 06:30.  Came home just in time to turn around and bring son to school.  Daughter heads off in about 15 minutes.  Nothing on the schedule today, so I'll have to handle some more evaluations and and paperwork.

Hope is to do a little work on the layout this afternoon, then get ready for some other activities with the family.  Right now, it is looking like a absolutely beautiful day outside.  May be in the low 90s.  Just have to hope no emergencies come up.  Also have to give a guy a hand at installing a dishwasher.  Should be easy.

God Bless,
Dennis

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 63 (s'posed to get to 85) here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Looks like Roy may be treading water in the Lone Star state.  Still on night work.  8ft inflatible is still outside this morning so the kids on the school bus can see how big RAVENS fans the fifelings are...Laugh

sir james Sad - Given that your beloved Lions scored 27 points on the Saints, signs look good for a few victories this year.  Your rookie QB is not gonna put up 3 INT's every game.  Looking at their schedule, they may be able to win 5. Probably not on WEEK 14 though...

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  Finished main part of LEGO building last night.  Need to add "landscaping" pieces.  I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East".  TBIL, and I can drive after soccer practice and the YMCA workout.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Cloudy and high 70's here.

BBQ pork for lunch, grocery shipping at WalMart (ugh), then home to watch the F1 race.  Force India on the front row of the grid?  Sure has been an interesting season.  Got my duct work finished up.  Yes Brutus, I've already had my copper water pipes under pressure while I can still get to them.

About the only train stuff today was the e-bay auction item that somebody else wanted more than I did.

Back to work tomorrow.  I owe, I owe, so off to work I go......

Tardis is ready so let's get going!  We have burgers, hot dogs, chips, some cake from RT and of course Banilla.  We had company invited to dinner, but they couldn't make it at the last minute, so plenty of food left over.   Worked OT yesterday, then mowed and took it easy.  Had some nice chats last night and tonight too.  Today, I worked on the basement - found out some plumbing I thought was done was not soldered - I knew my buddy that helped me left some undone here and there so I could adjust when I finished the walls.  Glad I found it now while I can still get to it on one side of the wall and no insulation to get wet!  I'll go over it, cap and turn it all on before I do the drywall on that side, just in case!  Note to 8nTruck - Don't do this either Laugh

Aloha all. We call that position 'shading' Dennis, working the irises at the camera control units - it's challenging given lighting changes. Watching the Bears game and tearing out what little hair I have left. Middle boy came back from his 'yachting' weekend and reported a B on a math test - his highest grade ever. So there's hope. First weekend of three services at church - now serving from 630 am to 330 pm when I work as video director - like a real job. LOL. Helped with the teen ministry kick-off where my bride is serving.  It was such a spectacular day, spent most outside with the youngest.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the high 70s.  Wife drove to Bloomington.  Bridge at Nashville back to two lanes.  Got Steak n Shake to go and ate with kids at daughter's place.  Took stored stuff back to sister-in-law's and met up with Lucas again at IU foundation for a meeting there.  Home by 7:00 PM.  Day better than expected.  Bran muffins on dining car.  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Ray, ours was on  "You have left your first love".  We are getting ready for a Refresh conference next week.  The main thing is to prepare peoples hearts for the Holy Spirit to work in us.  Many toes were stepped on and I think we were all humbled.

Didn't work camera tonight, instead, I was on faders, working the iris for all the cameras coming into the control room.  This is only my second time working in that position.  First time, I started turning off cameras and drove the director nuts.  Hey, we had a good laugh and somehow got through it all.

Right now, my wife is testing our son on his schoolwork.  Amazing how much they know at seven.

 Good evening,

Condolences to Buckeye,  Why Oh Why did they throw passes on two of the three plays in that last series.  They could have run the clock down to a few seconds with running plays and possibly won the game.  It's always easy to second guess the coach.  Laugh

Rich, I spotted the box car with the fried egg on the side in your SPF post.  Thanks.  Thumbs Up

Not a lot of train action here.  I did get two cars on the exchange, but haven't had time to take photos yet.  One is now on the layout so maybe next week on SPF.

Thomas week started on Saturday this past week and runs to next Sunday on the Strasburg RR.  Should be an interesting day on Tuesday at the PA RR Museum across the street.  Will probably have a lot of preschool kids & grandparents.  That's fine, I like it when we are busy.  Meet a lot of interesting people and quite a few old railroaders.

Good Afternoon all,

Dennis, our priest had a good sermon this week too.  One of those fish or cut bait scriptures.

Went to TTOS Southwestern today and we had a good size turnout.  Lots of table sales and 10 sellers in the auction.  Post war operating cars even in good shape were going for peanuts.  Auto log dump, milk car, merchandise car all for under 20 bucks.  Milk car even had the platform.  Kind of tells me what my left over post war stuff is worth.  Not good.  I remember paying $40 for that early side dump log car from the 40's.  Baby Standard Gauge State set went for $400 in very good condition.  The buy of the day was 10 Ross used number 6 switches with no motors and not prewired for $50.  They needed a little work but still a super buy.

I bought some books.  First one was "Steam Steel and Limiteds" by Kratville.  I have had this book but it got water damaged from a yard sprinkler through a window.  This one is to replace that.  Also picked up "Santa Fe Steel Rails Through California" to replace copy I had with missing pages.  I picked up some lighted Lionel Lockons to go with my wiring new track feeders project.

Turned out to be a good meet.  Only problem was that there were too many items to sell in the auction with the late start they got.  Meeting opened at 10:00 AM and auction didn't start until after 1:00PM.  I gave up after 2:00PM and went home.  I hadn't planned on an all day meet.  Too much time spent selling low price items and not enough good stuff going through when I was there.  I suppose we're lucky to have an auctioneer.  It's kind of a thankless job and no one else has stepped up to the plate for it.  We were spoiled some years ago by two of the best auctioneers ever.  They were both professionals.  That's a tough act to follow.

Ray

Next thing you know, Laz will try cooking up a few Brats in the smoke box when he goes running the loco!

Church was awesome this morning.  Pastor was right on, and it was just one of those services that lights a fire.  After Sunday School, we went to our favorite Mexican place and had some good grub.  Came home and we had a few chores to take care of.  One of them had me in a closet in a spare bedroom.  Found a painting my bride had been looking for and a Swarovski spotting scope that I have been looking for.  We changed the bed spread and duvet cover and put the old ones in "space bags" which really lessened the room needed for storage.

Going to take a little nap and then get ready for evening services.  I am on camera again, so want to rest the back and neck.

God Bless,
Dennis
