Good morning all, getting ready to go to the TTOS Southwestern meet this morning in Arcadia, Calif.  Will give a report when I get back.  Dbaker, sorry you have to work so hard today.  Before I retired, at least I had something I liked doing working on the railroad.  My worst day on the railroad was better than any other place I ever worked.

Been running the layout a little each morning lately before it gets too hot.  I really need to do some more wiring on the pike.  Too many voltage drops.  Need more feeders.  It's OK running DCS because you are running high voltage anyway but in conventional with actual voltage to the trains, it really shows up.

Chief, I like that gas grill that looks like a locomotive.  That's neat.  I need one a little smaller than that though.  That one looks like industrial strength.

Have a good day y'all.

Ray

Morning all.  Lazy day.  Pam and I both are getting around slowly.  Too much work for the old man.  Putting my drill press together in a few.  Giving Frankie my bench top one.

Fifey, does look like LAZ [poor guy].

Hope all have a great week.  Later

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful day. 68 and sunny. Going up to 80 today, with lots of sunshine.

Today is an easy day. Relaxing and enjoying the weather. I may spend some time in the train room later.  Nice supper planned.

SPF looks good today.

Dining car was here and we had the usual plus a big blueberry muffin for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 68 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Too many steamed crabs, and far too many longnecks last night...anyone catch the number on that bus...?Dead  Boy was happy; got money, Madden 10, and #27 jersey.

Even though I'm not 100% yet, I managed to trudge out to the garage this AM and pull out the 8ft inflatible RAVEN football player.  I'm gonna go out on the perverbial limb with my prediction for today's game...RAVENS 56 chefs -3 Oh, and Joe Flacco will pass for 553 yards, Hon.

 Hey guys,

Up early today, Princess was at a homework sleep over and you guessed it, no sleep.  So, me, being the great Dad I am got up at 7 to pick her up.  Needless to say, I got NO sleep last night as well.  Got coffee for me & d Mrs., and bagels for her and the kids.  I have croissants.  So the Princess is a-bed now, and everyone else is still sleeping.  I'll take a nap later.  Mrs. has work later and I have to clean house.

9/11 was a better day for me, but you have move on...the pain is still there.  You who saw the video link understand, I cannot watch the whole thing without breaking down.  Still tough.  Those that saw it, I thank you for taking time to view it.  It means a lot to me, those that perished and those that will always remember that day.  343 of our firefighter brothers died that day doing what we were trained to do, save lives.

I have a LNE car here and I will be getting pictures of the reformed layout and John's car on later today (after I wake up..)

It's been raining the last 2 days, very humid and warm about 88.  Went to HD yesterday, may be trading up to a 100th Anniversary (2003) Sportster with a 2 year warranty.  It was sitting on the lot and it started right up without the choke, so that may be promising...of course another $55 a month Banged Head.   Enjoy your day, will see ya in a while!

Cheers!

Rich

Morning all.  Time to get my backside in gear and get ready for Church.  Was funny this morning as both kids and the dog joined us in the bed for a early Sunday morn.  kids like to cut up and the dog loves being the center of attention.

Looking forward to SPF.  Hope to be able to contribute soon.  Been reading the new Fastrack book.  So far a good read.  Better run.

Sunny, low 80's here today.

Drove my wife to Columbia for some shopping - sewing store and Hobby Lobby.  Didn't see anything in the train selection that I 'had' to have.  Lunch at Red Lobster, then home.  Toured the home improvement stores and lumber yards in Sedalia and came up with the bits and pieces of duct work.  Ready to install them tomorrow.

We went racing tonight.  Last race of the season.  Sucessful night, though we adjusted ourselves out of the A main.  Made a change to the tighten the car up for the B main.  Too bad the track still had grip.  Driver had a hard time making the car turn. We finished fifth in the B main, but needed to finish fourth or better to transfer into the A main.  Not to  worry, tonight was more of a test session for us than serious racing.  We confirmed that the chassis set up changes made to the car this week seem to have helped.

Later.

 Hello all

9/11 was a somber day for me. Can't get those images out of my head. we afro engineered an antenna on the TV in our conference room. I've got to admit not much work was done that day

Busy as heck lately

Today we moved my old mobile home to a better location for the Pro's to get it. Been trying to sell it for over a year. Was almost ready to scrap it.  Finally donated it to my daughters BIL. Told him if he got it out of here he could have it. He was happy to get it. He told me he had looked at some in much worse shape for 6 or 8 K. Have to admit it was harder to move than I thought it would be. Once it was under way it went much better.

My wife and my Dad canned over 40 pints of Pickled Beets today while the great trailer move was going on.

I did get some of the Anormal smoke fluid. I've got to admit in my opinion it doesn't hold a candle to Super Smoke. Super smoke has way better scent and smoke output.

One good thing about shorter days, I got a little bit o' train runnin in a couple of times.

It's past my bedtime

Hillclimb tomorrow

Prayers to all who need them

Good Evening,

Dennis, not only was your post at the top of the page, but # 300 for this edition of the "Pot", what a talkative bunch!

Worked the Orange County Swap meet today, boy my eyes are bloodshot.  (Not from alcohol or lack of sleep, things will be different I'm sure, when summer weather changes!)  Going back tomorrow!  Sure get tired of this working stuff.

Hopefully should get a day off later this week.  The weeks just seem to flip by!

Havn't been in the train room all week, the closest I've gotten is watching the remote thermoter in the Family Room.  Currently, 81 deg, & 43% RH.  And it has been closed up all day.

Going to watch a "special" movie tonight.   "Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus"  looking forward to that!

Later

Good evening everyone.  Had a great day, though it didn't start out that way.  Woke with a headache and feeling BAAADDDD.  Eventually rolled out of bed and had breakfast.  After a little medication, felt much better.  Had daughter's party with her friends from ballet and school.  It was at a gymnastics place that allowed the kids to go nuts and have a great time.  This is the third and final birthday party for our little princes this year.  (seems we celebrate each birthday 3 times).  Getting ready for church tomorrow.  Looking forward to it as seems to give us that recharging we need to make it through another week.

When we got home today, the mailbox had a little present in it for me.  The new Fastrack book is out and upon first glance, it will be a good one.  Some nice designs and I am sure many tips to help my on my pike.  Was a gift from a friend who has several layouts featured in it.

Well, I do hope that everyone has a blessed week ahead.
Dennis

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Reffed two games today.  Both were pretty cleanly played.  Went to YMCA and did weights, came home, cleaned up a little, went to Mass (Catholics do have it nice that way), then mowed the yard.  Tired.  Friday night went with "saucy wench" to see "Julie and Julia", chick flick.  I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning for breakfast.  TBIL, and I hope someone else can drive.  Going to Bloomington tomorrow again.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Afternoon all.  Been busy since sun up.  We trimmed shrubs in the front of the house.  Some with chair saw.  Then loaded the truck several times [neighbor helped] and hauled to the pond woods.  Now to shower and shave.  Hope all are well.  BTW: has OSU been "creamed" yet? Whistling

Late Saturday morning. A quickie rain show this A.M., so no yard work. Gave me a good excuse to fix the smoke unit on my NYC tug boat. I got a new board from Mizell's Trains yesterday and spent about a half hour today replacing the unit and then re assembling the tug boat. Afyer nearly an hour,I got the steps with pictures posted on another thread appropriately titled Replacing a smoke unit on a Lionel Tug Boat. If you have time, take a look, and offer any comments, suggestions, complaints.

Thanks!!!

Aloha all. Spectacularly beautiful day today - almost a record for easterly winds. Long dry spell too. Back from church group meeting, now to get the youngest ready for soccer. Then do some chores and house projects - including testing the layout for guests tonight. My middle boy gets to go on a 30 ft boat overnight out on the big lake today. Lucky.  Don't think I'll see the bride until tonight as we'll cross paths all day.

Mostly sunny and high 70's today.

Tour of Missouri bicycle was in town today.  Some of the same riders and teams that rode in the Tour de France are here.  Individual time trials in the stage here.  Didn't get to watch any - work, ya know.  I did see some of the support vehicles while I was out for lunch.  Some pretty impressive stuff.  These guys don't skimp.

I remember calling a vendor in Canada 9 years ago and canceling a trip I had planned for the next day.  He was in as much shock and dismay as we were. Pretty somber, indeed.  That day ranks right along with Pearl Harbor and Kennedy's assination as a day that changed the world.

Dennis - I strongly agree with your comment about terrorist's 'rights'.

Not everyone has forgotten.I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Secretary at work had a small tv and we watched the second plane hit. I have felt somber all day. Please remember your friends died trying to save others.I know that does not help much but trying to look at all the courage that day reminds us that there are some very unselfish people in this world. My opinion.

Nice chats with RT and SJ.  No locomotive in the mail today, wonder what is the problem?  Maybe because of the Holiday?

Watching some good old episodes of Petticoat Junction - lots of great train stuff (2nd season) still and they have Benji on the show too now.  The original town that it was based on was in Missouri too Big Smile  I'd love to try some of Kate's fried chicken Thumbs Up

Pat, I know you were up on rotation tonight, but Mike wants to drive, so I guess you and Don's neighbor can practice your moves?  We need to pick up Laz early for a beer run Laugh

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good Evening everyone.  Well, it has been a day full of melancholy.  I went in and did an early case.  Difficult case, but went well.  Got the Odyssey "Trip Ready" with a oil change and check belts/brakes/ fluids, etc.  Spent the afternoon with wife and kids.  I had constant reminders of 9.11.01 throughout the day.  I recall taking one last pit stop before going on bypass.  Went through the Dr's lounge and I read a scroll across the bottom of the screen on Fox News about a plane hitting the WTC.  Went back into the OR and had the nurse turn the radio on.  Listened to reports of the first one when the second hit, we knew what was up.

Having been a firefighter up in NJ many moons ago, I know a lot of guys on the FDNY.  Lost some friends, but thankful to have known them.  I have lost friends on the job before that and the feelings are the same.

Unfortunately Rich, I think too many have forgotten.  They are more concerned with the "rights" of captured terrorists than the safety of us and the troops on the front lines.  This of course is my opinion, so let's not start a fight here.

God Bless each of you and America
Dennis
