Morning all!

Bride is taking girls out to see 'Cloudy with a chance of meatballs' so I can have some peas.   Woo Hoo!  Hhhhmmm what to do first?  Friend's son getting baptised Sunday, so we'll do a small get together tomorrow evening at our place.  I'll actually have time to shoot some photos for SPF!

Ray:  Great news!

Chief:  Happy Birthday to your son!  Sounds like a great gift!

Hey Chief.......Sure glad that you have shown us all what retirement is all about! Sit back, relax, sleep in.....Ah, enjoying the "simple, lazy life and dealing without the everyday chaos of the "pre-retirement years! How do you deal with all that inactivity in your day to day routine now that you no longer have to work?

Evening all, my train buddy with the melanoma got some good news today.  They say the surrounding tissue after the surgery is cancer free.  Thank the Lord for prayers amswered.  I got the part for my pool skimmer today that I was looking for so we are making a little progress.  Ran trains this morning but too hot after noon in the garage.

Happy birthday to your Mom, Chief!

Thanks Bill - I think that is probably it.  I remember I had to adjust something for my MTH engine to run it in conventional with the tpc.  I need to find the manual for my multitester and put in a little time figuring this out - then carefully write everything down for next time.  Maybe I will put a voltage readout on the layout anyway - that could be a good idea.

Went to a luncheon for a friend who is retiring.  We've worked together for 20 plus years now.  My hamburger, fries and diet coke cost $20 (well, 19.80).... Coincidence or Carmack?  You be the judge Laugh

Nice chats with SJ, Ole Timer and RT tonight.  Have to call it an early night tonight as up at 5 AM to work OT and then going to a birthday party.  Maybe time in between to pick up a hardcopy of the new catalog?

Dang kids are out in the street - playing at knocking/ringing in the bell and running.  Wife went out and yelled at some of them, told them she knows them and the next knock will cause a phone call to the police and visits to their houses.  Hmmm - no disturbances since then.  Guess it worked.

Tardis time!  Banilla sounds good to me, let's hit the road Smile

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Partly suunny and mid 70's here. I'm noticing some of the maple trees are starting to turn.

Brutus - Check your TPC to see if you had a minimum voltage set.  I had mine set up so my conventional postwar locomotives would start up without cranking 3 turns on the red knob.  The first time I put my Williams BL-2 on the loop, I turned the red knob - nothing, more turn - nothing, a little more turn and it took off like a dragster.  The starting voltage for the postwar stuff was way higher than the starting voltage for the Williams.

 About it.

Many thanks to all of you friends on the forum for your condolences on the passing of my Aunt and the prayers and good wishes for my urinary problem.  Good news is that my water is clear this morning and I'm taking the antibiotics now.  Still no pain.  I've had kidney stones before but I have always had pain preceding the discovery of them.  This thing acts differently  I read somewhere that certain foods can cause color in the urine also.  I hope it is something as simple as that.

Aloha. Working from home today - a beautiful one. Hope to get out to do a bit of work I've been avoding around the house. Good chatting with Brutus, Sir J and Charlie. Have couples coming for dinner tonight, always puts the bride into a tizzy especially since they all have gigantic homes. Doesn't bother me though I'm here to help her prepare. Soccer game tomorrow with the youngest. A good TGIF to everyone.

Good Morning

Sun is up going into the 70s, chilly mornings now though.

Felt sorry for Brutus last nite, he has waited quite a while for this engine to arrive but I do think he needs to check his power setup as the engine got full voltage.  We are going out again this morning to enjoy these great days so we  can remember them in  sob,January.

Happy friday to all...S.J.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps near 80.  The 'saucy wench' has her first day of subbing.  She had signed up to do it this summer, but she had to recheck the sign up list in order to get called.  With the hoops they make you go thru to do something as basic as that, it is a wonder they get anybody willing to do it. In any event, she has six "bookings" already.  "My" soccer girls played with a lot of heart last night, and the results did not reflect the effort.  The JV got lit up for three quick goals, but then settled down and gave up only one goal in the second half for a 6-0 loss.  The varsity played the other team even in the first half, only to have the officiating allow a goal on an obvious offside play late in the half.  The other team came out with a little more energy early in the second half and got two more goals before we could answer with one of our own.  One more goal by the opposition made the final 4-1.  Both the JV and varsity could have given up and phoned it in at some point, but they kept on kickin' and made the games interesting.  At last report the boys were tied late in their game with an archrival, but the final score was not available at press time (so to speak).  AJ's team had two good practices, but messed up on qualifying and will start 16th.  Race is on Versus live tonight at 10:30.  I had a donut again along with the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East".  TBIL, but it will have to be a very late pickup tonight after the race.  I hope everyone has a good day (especially AJ's team).

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning [as past mid-night in NC].  Just got to unpack and set up my new Lionel Heritage MP SD70.  Wow, what sounds.  I have several Legacy engines and this one sounds a step above those and MTH's I just got.  Unbelievable.  CAn hardly wait for the shipment from LAZ.

Ray, prayers and get well.

Off to Mom's later this morning.  93 years old today.  Frankie's B'day tomorrow [Sat].

Joining the big Granite Falls Athletic and Swim Club.  Big outdoor pool [still open until Oct] and Olympic indoor pool [salt pool so no chorline  and no humidity].  Workout rooms with full gym equipment.  Their treadmills have TV screens with full Time Warner service.  Plug in the headphones and select your movie or program and walk away.  Us politicians get a break in the signup fee. Whistling  Now I will get up and go to the "gym" for a workout and then do chores, Town Hall business and/or other things.  Get some of this "free meals" off the waist line.

Good night.

BTW: Hollywood is boxed and ready to ship.

Ray - prayers for you and your friends and family.  That's a tough week.  I've had the hematuria twice and for me it was kideny stones (they think), but imaging did not show any (more) last time.

Laz - sweet new set!

Well, my new Williams GP9 arrived today.  One window was loose, so I glued it and let it set for a while.  Took it down and put on my little layout, set TPC for conventional control and all I could do was get the lights to get brigher or dimmer.  I fiddlled around with it, hit halt I think?  dialed it up again, hit direction and it took off like a rocket Sad  Bam - headfirst into the concrete floor.  The front of the front truck has a little bent edge and the truck is bent down a little in front, but it does not affect the wheels or coupler.  There is a small scuff on top of the cab, too - I might try to buff that off in the future.  Now I tried it on my O27 after talking to Da Giz (SJ, Charlie and Doug) and it ran fine on conventional circle.  My guess is that my TPC is not cycling down enough to throw the e-unit?  It won't cycle the unit on my Percy either.  So, I need to fix that - I remember DougsNotaGrump and others recommending a lightbulb or something to drop the voltage?  Maybe it's a programming thing though.  I'll experiment after I put a small wall all the way around my little layout to save myself any future engine disasters.

Oh well, it's bedtime, sorry guys.  I'll have to hit the wayback circuit and come back for you - get Mike first so he can drive for us - I know where SJ hides the key, so we can grab some banilla, then go back further and have a few bowls with him then, too Laugh

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening fellas

Working from home tomorrow as the electrician has to come out to move a line before I can install the pocket door, which came in yesterday and I picked up today. Not sure if he is just coming to do that or to do the rough in... hope he is coming to do the rough in, that way if I get the pocket door installed this weekend I can call for electrical and framing inspections on Monday. When I stopped at Lowes during lunch today I found an exterior light that matches the ones I put on the house after we moved in 2 years ago! I nearly fainted because it is very rare that Lowes carries the same item for more than one season. Also got all the outlets in the kitchen (11 of them) replaced tonight with the new decorator type outlets (the rectangular ones). I am really hoping that I am installing insulation and hanging drywall next weekend. If I am then the project is about 3 - 4 weeks from being completed, well the sunroom is, the screened porch I just need to get the railings installed prior to the final inspection, screens can come later.

Buckeye - It would be rare for it to snow in York that early. We used to get snow in Pittsburgh on Halloween, but that too was rare. Now it could be colder than a polar bear's behind. I would HIGHLY recommend checking the forecast the day before you leave and DEFINITELY bring a winter coat - the weathermen in this area aren't good at predicting the weather more than 5 minutes out!

Laz - Nice NS set! Did you see the NS Heritage engines in the new catalog? That blue one really looks nice.

Mostly sunny and about 80 today.

Ray - thoughts and prayers for you.

Good looking oil cans, Laz.

Looks like I'm off to Spain week after next on a business trip.  I'll know for sure tomorrow.  Somewhere between a week and ten days. Two new parts were awarded to our plant today too.  This is good news.  I know what I'll be working on for the next year and a half.

SJ - for what it is worth, I've always had good luck with Die Hard batteries over the years.

About all for now.

your health issue can be many things as dennis will attest to I'm sure but just one idea is when I did that it was kidney stones and had no hint of it prior to that but then I started geting simptoms like cramps and all as they were moving.

Evening all. Not to much happening tonight think I pulled some muscles in my left upper leg might of twisted wrong and not realize it pushing one of those food carts. take it easy tonight and see how it is in the morning.
